This episode begins with an often asked question: What is the soul? Michael Meade describes the soul as “the animating and connecting force without which we cannot live,” yet that “cannot be seen directly or simply be proven to exist.” He further describes the soul as “a betwixt and between thing, neither simply physical nor strictly spiritual,” but rather “the third element in the trinity of existence, that fills the subtle space between spirit and matter.” Soul is the connecting tissue and the hidden continuity of all of life. It is “the missing ingredient when everything seems to fall apart. When we lose our way in the world, it is the soul's way of being that has been lost. For we are most lost and truly abandoned when we have lost touch with our own soul, with our own inward style and way of being. Each person born enters the world as a unique soul on a unique life adventure. From the view of the soul, the troubles and obstacles we encounter in life are secretly intended to awaken the inner nobility and creative energies that are part of our soul's inheritance. First, "He has abolished death", and second, "He has brought life and immortality to light", and third, "through the gospel". Death, Life and Immortality, and the Gospel. The Gospel is about the ending of death and beginning of life. The Good News is about the abolishment of death and revelation of life. This news will never become old. Only a careless reading of the scripture can make this old. This is the ultimate work of Jesus in us, to cause His life flourish in us to the full, even in the body. 8-11-19 – MANIFESTING THE BREATH OF LIFE: Embracing the Transition from Living Soul to Life-Giving Spirit, Part I Today’s Notes: I – “But someone will say, “How are the dead raised up? And with what body do they come?” Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body. All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of animals, another of fish, and another of birds. There are also celestial bodies and terrestrial bodies, but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. There is one glory of the sun, another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differs from another star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead. The body is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption. It is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness, it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
