Melanie browsed a list of innovative business ideas at her local business association. She thought to herself, surely there's got to be more ways to earn money from home. You see, Melanie just turned 40 and she came to the realization that she wanted something different in her life. The freedom to travel the world is something pressing on her heart. She knows that she would be able to do this if she had the ability to work from any location. Are you looking for ways to earn extra income from home? If yes, then you should check out these 101 innovative business ideas that you can start today. You don't need to quit your job or move to start earning extra cash at home. In fact, starting a side hustle can provide you with additional income without much effort. You can also scale your online business far beyond a side hustle for extra money.  There are plenty of opportunities to make money online. Some of them require minimal investment, while others take time and effort. The key is finding something that suits your skillset and interests. Have a look at our list and find what stands out to you! How Do I Start a Home-based Business? If you want to start a home business, first decide what kind of business you would like to do. This includes deciding whether you want to sell products or services, how much money you want to invest, and how much you'd like to earn from your business. Next, determine which skills you already possess that could be used for your new venture and identify things you must learn. The key is finding something you are passionate about. It's easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind of life and forget why you started this journey. But if you can find a way to make money doing what you love, then sticking with it and growing an online business can feel easy. You may even end up loving every aspect of being your own boss! 101 Home-based Business To Try 1. Affiliate Marketing Online retailers use affiliate marketing to generate traffic to their sites and increase sales. As an affiliate marketing partner, you will receive payment for sales, and sometimes website traffic, that you generate.  If you have a popular blog you can place affiliate marketing links in your blog posts to generate income. If your Instagram follower count is high consider placing affiliate links in your captions. Place links anywhere that you can generate clicks.  2. Online Course Creator The online course industry is growing at a rapid click. Students are taking advantage of the online offerings to improve their job skills, their businesses, or even just to take up a new hobby.  If you have the skill to teach or knowledge to share you can create and sell an online course. It does require planning to launch a successful course and we are here to help.  3. Digital Marketing Campaign Manager If you have experience in social media you would make an ideal digital marketing campaign manager. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and implementing digital marketing campaigns. You will need to plan the campaigns, analyse the data related to ad campaigns, and keep up to date with trends.  4. Freelance Content Marketing Content marketing refers to creating content for a target audience online. As a freelance content marketer, you will be hired by brands to create and place content about their products and services across the internet.  5. Market Research To market effectively businesses need to know who they are marketing to. As a market researcher, you will supply the information necessary to create great advertising. You will research a business' likely buyers and supply information related to them.   6. Email Marketing Services If you have a flair for writing consider entering the email marketing world. As an email marketer, you will be responsible for writing email content for your client's email list.

The Makeup Insider is a weekly one-on-one podcast exploring the life and career of makeup artists, hosted by freelance mua Vanessa Barney. This week we take a look at a different type of artist, Automation-Queen, Charlotte Isaac. Organised, tick. Talented, tick. Super friendly, tick. Meet Charlotte. An all-round organisational bada$$ who works with creative business owners to streamline their client communications. She talks us through why she's obsessed with a tool called Dubsado (and she's mildly confident you will be too!) that helps your business stay in motion. Charlotte also provides an overview of Business tools available on her website, to help your business succeed. Whether you're just starting out or have been in the industry for a long time, tune in now, check out the key takeaways and subscribe for future podcasts below. KEY TAKEAWAYS: What Is Automation? It's cloning what you would normally do, without you having to do it. Let's walk through an example for a bridal mua: Someone comes to talk to you about doing their wedding makeup You've got to make sure the date, time and location are organised You probably have to sort out some sort of contract, including requesting a deposit You might want to send them some information on how to get ready You might want to send the bride some skin care tips in the lead up to the wedding, and You might want to send them a reminder a week before the wedding. There's A LOT of information and organising that goes into a job, and while it's different for everyone, what is clear is that automating those 6 steps above makes your job (and life) a whole lot simpler! One of the biggest time sucks for mua's is responding to emails. Most of the time new clients are messaging on a weekend, when they're free - but you're likely at a wedding or have just worked for 8 hours and you're exhausted, and don't want to check your emails and craft a reply. Imagine having that all set up to automatically respond in your tone of voice, for you - without you having to lift a finger!? Why Dubsado? Dubsado helps your business stay in motion. You can build relationships, schedule appointments and streamline your projects from start to finish. Plus, it's especially good for mua's because: 1. It connects with Xero and QuickBooks (Accounting), Paypal, Square and Stripe (Payments), video conferencing apps, email providers and calendar apps. 2. You can try it for free for up to 3 clients - indefinitely! Yes, no lifetime payment needed. 3. You can request a client review a certain number of days after you finish working with them. Automating those pesky Google reviews and recommendations you hate asking for, but let's be honest, really need! Ps. Yes, we totally acknowledge it's an usual name. Fun fact: it's run by a husband and wife, whose son used to run around their house going ‘dub - sa - do', so that's how they landed on the name ;) How Do I Start? “I know it feels like a big job. You need to create a checklist of everything you want automated, then you need to create an account, and set up the system. Look, I'm not going to say it's the easiest thing in the world to set up, but most clients say they end up saving at least 4 hours a week.” Charlotte Isaac Find out how you can get started at charlotteisaac.com/makeupinsider - there are lots of templates and resources available on Charlotte's website, including a guided program where you can sign up with other creatives. What Questions Do You Have About Grant Writing? Lately we've been going back to the basics of grant writing! I'm answering some of the most common questions I hear about grants. We learn how to level up your skills in the Fast Track to Grant Writer so you can approach your grant writing career with a more successful strategy. The end goal is to help you increase your income and your impact through grant writing. How Do I Start as a Grant Writer? That's the most common question I hear...“Where do I start as a grant writer?”   Here's the thing. We tend to build things up in our heads and make them way harder than they need to be.   The problem is, when there are a lot of unknowns, that also spills over into our decisionmaking and clouds our judgment. Emily P. Freeman says in her book, “Without a name, we can't be specific…There is power in naming the unnamed things.”   If you're dealing with a general feeling of overwhelm and can't seem to move forward with making decisions, start with naming. Then you know what you have to work with.    That can go a long way in helping you determine your next right step.   Finding a Balance with Long-Term Perspective We need to find a balance between addressing the immediate, urgent demands while keeping a long-term, visionary perspective in sight. This starts with a few simple steps: Keep things running, but think in the context of a visionary perspective Dig into the overwhelming thing and name it. Find your core clarity: Personal why Vision, mission, and core values Those become a filter for decisionmaking. We've named and defined what we have to work with, so then it's not an ambiguous, overwhelming problem. We have a core framework for moving forward. Listen to the full episode for examples and deeper discussion of each.   Challenge Question: What is one area that has you feeling stumped right now, and how can you name it to help you move forward? Connect with me over on LinkedIn or send me a message and I'll share more resources with you.   Keep at it, my friend! It is an honor for me to introduce you to my dear friend and colleague, Dan Miller. I met Dan originally in Atlanta in May of 2012. Since that time, I have been reading his books and blogs, listening to his podcast, and participating in his 48Days Community on a regular basis. Dan is one of the most genuine people I know, and I have come to respect him a great deal. In this interview, Dan and I discuss the power of relationships, strategic connections, and becoming a part of a Mastermind Group.  Dan Miller's Bio: Dan Miller, President of 48 Days LLC, specializes in creative thinking for increased personal and business success. He believes that meaningful work blends our natural skills and abilities, our unique personality traits and our dreams and passions. Dan is active in helping individuals redirect careers, evaluate new income sources, and achieve balanced living. He believes that a clear sense of direction can help us become all that God designed us to be. Dan is the author of the New York Times best-selling 48 Days To The Work You Love, No More Dreaded Mondays and Wisdom Meets Passion. He has been a guest on CBS' ‘The Early Show,' MSNBC's ‘Hardball with Chris Mathews,'Moody MidDay Connection, and the Dave Ramsey Show. Dan has spoken at the White House Christian Fellowship, and is in high demand at national conferences speaking on aging and changes in the workplace as well as at universities and churches.  Over 130,000 people have subscribed to his weekly newsletter, his 48 Days Podcast consistently ranks in the top 3 under Careers on iTunes, and the 48Days.net business community is viewed as an example around the world for those seeking to find – or create – work they love. Committed to personal priorities, Dan and his wife Joanne are approaching their 45th anniversary and have 3 world-changing children and 12 amazing grandchildren. What does it mean to be fully alive in your work? Many of us are not yet doing what God put us here to do. Dan looks at the changing work models and outlines a plan for integrating your dreams and your passions into your daily activities. If you've ever buried your dreams in an attempt to be “practical” or “realistic,” Dan will show you how embracing those very dreams is the most practical way to enjoy life and achieve the success you're looking for. The Power of The Mastermind Group Back in 1935, in Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill wrote that a Mastermind group was the one essential behind every successful person he interviewed! And yet with that information having been read by most anyone serious about their success, very few people take the initiative to find or create their own Mastermind team. You may have goals, strategies and tactics for achieving a high level of success, but without a Mastermind group you're polishing a Ferrari with no gas in the tank. How would you like to have your own team of hand-picked advisors committed to your personal success? What could you do with expert advice, wise counsel, and a network of successful people at your finger-tips? You know, the hottest business principle today is “collaboration” not “competition.” What could you do with the collaboration of your own mastermind group? I don't know anyone who has become extraordinarily successful who has not utilized the principle of the mastermind group. Whether you're a small business owner, a personal growth seeker, a consultant, a free-lanceworker, a real estate agent, an artist or a corporate employee, you can benefit from being part of a Mastermind Group. Being part of aMastermind Group is like having your own board of directors. Except there's no hidden agenda – everyone is openly committed to the success of the other members. In this course you'll discover Why you Need a Mastermind Group? How Do I Start a Mastermind Group? Selecting the Members of your Group How Do I Run a Mastermind Group? These are short segments designed to give you the essentials and get you up and running with your own Mastermind group immediately. Success doesn't require that we're born in the right place, have the right IQ or have the right degree – but it does require that we take the right action. Just click the image right here to the right of this video to start your right action now.

On this episode, Rick Tiedemann of the Copeman Healthcare Centre in Edmonton, AB, discusses why leadership well-being is pivotal to company success (regardless of company size). With the conversation around employee wellness programs and general well-being in the workplace growing, it can be easy as a leader to forget about your own well-being. As Rick explains, forgetting to focus on the well-being of the leadership team puts the entire company at risk, and can have negative consequences for your own life. Rick explores ways the leadership team can incorporate well-being into the work day, and explains the importance of diet, exercise, mindfulness, and sleep for productivity. Dave reflects on his trip to Podcast Mid Atlantic and talk about enjoying having people create good content that pushes you to do better. Competition is a godo thing when it pushes you to be better. He explains how there really are "original" ideas. The case in point the iPad is simply an update of the Walkman.  Live Does Not Equal Good  Dave talks about the new show Best Time Ever and while it was LIVE, it was all over the place. He had a woman who was singing a hit from 1979 along with extreme pogo sticking, with a stunt in the middle. Who is the audience for this stuff? Blab is still popular, but we need to make sure to have something to say when you press record if your live or being recorded.
