Hi, I'm Eric Peacock, welcome to Soundtracker...where today I'm joined once again by AK Lingus (@aklingus.bsky.social) to talk about what Jackass says about modern male trauma. Just kidding, we're mostly talking about how funny it is seeing guys get hit in the nuts for 90 minutes. It's what they would have wanted as they prepare to ride off into the sunset with the final movie, which also releases today. We do delve into some of what shifted in the general consensus from when Jackass first began (hand-wringing over how it was corrupting the youth) to where it is today (a beloved institution that is much smarter than it should be), but mostly we just talk about how funny it is when Johnny Knoxville says things like "I have bursitis". So put on your thong, break out the Party Boy theme, and let's go, because I kinda feel like partying right now. Sam Clements is curating a fictional film festival. He'll accept almost anything, but the movie must not be longer than 90 minutes. This is the 90 Minutes Or Less Film Fest podcast. This episode may contain strong language. In episode 167 Sam is joined by stunt performer, comedian and podcaster Steve-O. His new movie Jackass: Best and Last is in UK cinemas from 26 June 2026. Steve-O has chosen Jackass: The Movie (85 mins). Directed by Jeff Tremaine and based on the MTV show, the comedy stars Johnny Knoxville, Chris Pontius, Steve-O, Dave England, Ryan Dunn, Wee Man, Bam Margera, Preston Lacy, and Danger Ehren. Sam and Steve-O discuss how Jackass went from TV to film, his experience of rewatching Jackass: The Movie for the first time since its release, and how the series has evolved over the years. We're the GoodTrash GenreCast, and welcome to our Jackass episode. That's right, as we continue to look at shows moving from the small screen to the big screen, we take an unprecedented approach—one that might be the end of our show for good. Or so it seems. Dalton advocates hard for the rhetoric of Jackass: The Movie, while Dustin responds as though Johnny Knoxville threw him in the snake pit. Arthur tries to be the funny fat guy between them. Does it work? Does this movie have anything to say? Opinions differ wildly! So, tune in to our Jackass: The Movie analysis and please, don't try this at home!

John & Aaron react to Jackass: The Movie for the first time as they check out the 2002 MTV classic that turned pranks, pain, stunts, and absolute stupidity into a full-blown theatrical experience! This Jackass The Movie reaction follows Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Bam Margera, Wee Man, Chris Pontius, Ryan Dunn, Dave England, and the whole Jackass crew as they take the TV show's chaos to the big screen with giant shopping carts, rental car destruction, golf course air horns, alligator stunts, rocket skates, and some of the grossest comedy John & Aaron have reacted to yet. In this Jackass 2002 reaction and Jackass movie review, John & Aaron break down the wild mix of classic MTV nostalgia, funniest movie reactions, hidden camera pranks, brutal physical comedy, and cringe-inducing stunts that made this franchise so legendary. From the rent-a-car destruction and “old man” shoplifting to the butt X-ray, wasabi snooters, paper cuts, Butterbean boxing match, whale shark stunt, party boy chaos in Japan, and the Son of Jackass ending, this Jackass retrospective breakdown asks the real question: how did these guys survive this movie — and why is it somehow kind of brilliant? Steve-O takes his shoes off to talk about his new special, "Steve-O's Bucket List" as well as the lifetime of stunts leading up to it. He and Rick discuss Steve-O's need for attention; the kind the that led to rehab and many broken body parts; self-producing; and how though validation weighs heavier than pain, Steve-O is not pain-adverse. While performing in the flea market circus, Steve-O began sending videos of himself to Big Brother magazine editor and future Jackass director Jeff Tremaine. Once the connection was made Steve-O began to work on MTV's television series Jackass, which became an instant hit.[12] MTV has subsequently released seven movies based on the series: Jackass: The Movie (2002), Jackass Number Two (2006), direct-to-videorelease Jackass 2.5 (2007), Jackass 3D (2010), direct-to-video release Jackass 3.5 (2011), Jackass Forever(2022), and Jackass 4.5 (2022). The installments Jackass: The Movie, Jackass Number Two, Jackass 3D, Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013), and Jackass Forever all became box office hits. Los Angeles! CONTENT WARNING, VIEWER DISCRETION IS SEVERELY ADVISED WE MEAN IT THIS TIME.Among many of the shared childhood experiences the boys had growing up, one that stood out was watching the Jackass movies while having no idea they were continuations of a TV show (that doesn't exist btw don't try to trick us). So, upon revisiting these comedy classics, how much can they stomach to watch without cringing from skits containing unimaginable pain, unimaginable gross-out moments, and unimaginably not-aged-well-at-all pranks? If you truly want to know despite all of this, come watch with Brian and Alec to find out!

This week, it's all about stupidity and dumb fun. And the surest way to get that fun is to put on a Panda costume and run through Japan, and if that doesn't do the trick then just beat up your dad, Phil. That's right boppers, we're asking if Jackass: The Movie holds up!
It's been 20 years since Jackass: The Movie came out and we finally saw Jackass Forever last week. We had Steve-O on The Rise Guys back in 2015 and a lot of people haven't heard it, so let's walk down memory lane
"Lookie, Lookie, I got traumatic memories of Captain Hook stabbing a child to death." Years before Legacy Sequels were cool, Steven Spielberg decided to ask the question, "What if Peter Pan grew up and forgot all about Neverland?" Turns out he'd be a corporate lawyer and his kids hate him! "Hook" had a killer premise, an incredible cast led by Robin Williams and Julia Roberts and that steady Spielbergian hand. The marketing for the film was such an enticing tease too... how about that little hook-shaped latch on the window? Killer! Dustin Hoffman gets top billing as Captain Hook, and you don't even see him in the trailer! In hindsight, it seems like Spielberg was hiding the part of the movie set in Neverland, after Hook kidnaps Grown Peter's kids. Some impressive set design aside, the meat of "Hook" that takes place in fantasy land mixes so many strange tones and subplots that it's hard to get invested. Peter makes out with mermaids, gets a convoluted origin story and kisses his future wife while she sleeps (consent dude!). And Tinkerbell turns big, and Captain Hook is suicidal. Also Hook can somehow brainwash Peter's son into forgetting all about his own father in a span of just three days. But don't worry, kids, there's a food fight! Bangarang! Old Millennials Remember Movies hosts Tyler and Angela try to crack the wild mess that is "Hook." Is this Spielberg's worse movie? Maybe? Is he even capable of making a completely bad movie? Well, no, there's still some really good moments here, especially in that opening act with Maggie Smith. Apparently Maggie Smith wore old age makeup to play 90-year-old Wendy, but how does she look EXACTLY LIKE THIS in 2022?! The Old Millennials talk about little league baseball (get a logo on that baseball cap, Charlie Korsmo!), Hoffman and Bob Hoskins screwing around in lieu of actual character work, the Lost Boy that somehow turns himself into a ball, that strange Glenn Close cameo, and, yes, the whole ordeal with Rufio, Rufio, ROOF - EEE - OHHH! In the spirit of JACKASS releasing a supplementary feature film to accompany the mainline entry as a .5 we've done the exact same. We recorded with Josh for over 2 and half hours so here's the stuff that just couldn't make the cut. Tales and musings from the bottom of the porta potty cutting room floor.
I revisit the DICK PICS segment to review another male-centric film, JACKASS THE MOVIE. I discuss it's relationship with MTV and how it combatted with low pay, low support from the channel and it's controversy surrounding Senator Joe Lieberman along with the Dude's Rock movement--male bonding, male camaraderie, self-destructive behavior and how Federico Fellini, Minutemen, Henry Rollins and Ian MacKaye's friendship tie in with the spirit of JACKASS. I also review this film and some of the standout sequences.Support Me:https://linktr.ee/FromMyLipsPod

Mark Zupan's mental toughness and a competitive drive to be his best self helped his overcome a broken neck and end up being the best quad rugby player in the world in 2008. Grit is the word that best defines the journey of Mark Zupan. An eighteen year old collegiate soccer player who played hard and partied harder got throw from a truck and ended up waking up in a ditch hanging on to his life by a branch. His paralyzing neck injury forced him to start his life over and literally learn everything over again: how to eat, pee, and get around in a chair. He recounts how he was surrounded by great friends, loving parents who helped him overcome the rehabilitation process. And it was his mental toughness kept him fighting for the opportunity to get his life back. And then he found Quad-Rugby. His world changed when he had a competitive outlet for his will to be his best. Mark's live is all about pushing the limits and in doing so, he led the USA Men's Quad-Rugby team to win a bronze medal in 2004 and Gold in 2008 in Beijing, China. About Mark Zupan:After his accident, Zupan graduated from Georgia Tech, became a two-time quad rugby national champion, the 2004 quad rugby player of the year. He was a member of the bronze medal-winning U.S. team at the 2004 Paralympic Games and the gold medal-winning team at the 2008 Games. He is a resident of Dripping Springs, TX.When asked if he would "turn back the clock on that day", Zupan answered "No, I don't think so. My injury has led me to opportunities and experiences and friendships I would never have had before. And it has taught me about myself. In some ways, it's the best thing that ever happened to me."After a soccer game on October 14, 1993, Zupan got drunk with teammates at a bar and then crawled into the back of friend Chris Igoe's truck to sleep. Some time later Igoe left the bar unaware that Zupan was asleep in the back. Driving drunk, Igoe spun out and Zupan was thrown from the pickup bed, over a fence, and into a canal, where he held onto a branch for 14 hours until being discovered by a passerby.[1] He went into hypothermia and became paralyzed as a result of the accident. Zupan has incomplete quadriplegia and is able to walk for short distances with crutches.[2]He was also in the movie Jackass II in a skit called "Lake Jump", where his wheelchair was rigged up with carbon monoxide tanks and pushed off a ramp by Chris Pontius. Before taking off, the tanks triggered, launching him off of the ramp and into the lake.
