We are so excited to be back. Thank you to everyone who has been keeping in touch and who have been so supportive of our parenting podcast. The last few weeks have been a whirlwind so it's lovely to be able to sit down together again and try and help dome parents feel less alone. Question 1- Tantrums and meltdowns are exhausting for the child and the grown up. How can we navigate our kids through them? How can we help them regulate their emotions and learn to manage them? It takes practice. It takes time. Even the worst behaviour can improve. There is always hope. Find the cause of the behaviour and you'll find the answer to it. Shout out- To the main man Steve Daly who is officially our favourite person in the world. Listen in to find out why! Question 2- With the holiday season approaching how do you tackle the travel with children who have no patience for travelling. Is there a recipe for a successful trip with toddlers? Is it even possible to go a whole flight without a meltdown? What is required from the parent to ensure that the whole family survives the train, plane or automobile. Question 3- Teenagers. We are all afraid of them. Teenage dread is a real panic most parents experience. Will we lose our gorgeous kid to hormones? How much does the responsibility of navigating these teenage years actually fall on our shoulders as parents. The more informed we are of what they are actually experiencing the more we can try to lean into understanding this tumultuous phase of their lives. Thank you for listening in. We are so happy to be back. Send in any questions you have to honeyyouareruiningourkid@gmail.com. We will be back in two weeks. www.jigser.com/gigs for tickets to the live Jarlath Regan tour shows.

This month we bring you a very special episode, one of particular interest to anyone who is a parent in Ireland today. This episode was recorded live at the Museum of Literature Ireland, and host Jen Hogan was joined by comedian, podcaster, and dad Jarlath Regan; author, content creator and mum of three, Caz Mooney; and Bernie Coyne, of Coyne Research, who carried out the ALDI Mammies and Daddies Report. The ALDI Mammies and Daddies Report is the discussion point of this episode. Our panellists share their perspectives on balancing work, childcare, health, and personal interests, as well as offering insights into the juggling act that is modern parenting. Jarlath, Caz, and Bernie are full of anecdotes to tell, ranging from the difficulties of working from home while raising a family, to the lunacy of marathon running to the beauty of doing stand-up comedy for infants! There are some hard-hitting truths about how much more men need to be doing when it comes to parenting, and around the reality of trying to live up to society's expectations of parents. In the end, though, maybe it's all just the kids' fault?!

This week Marion interviewed Nancy Pelosi. She recaps the conversation with comedian Jarlath Regan and together they reflect on the latest news from the campaign trail. Can Donald produce the cash to pay his bond on Monday? Is the bond amount too high? Marion has a surprising take on this one. How are we still talking about Donald Trump when Texas and other border states are allowing people to die during their attempted crossings? SB4 threatens to make this appalling situation far worse. Can it be stopped? The 5th Circuit has allowed it. Now it's the Supreme Court's chance to stand up but don't count on that. Is the Supreme Court the most dangerous force in America? Is their goal to retain a white America? Surely that's already impossible? Over in the extended episode we hear who might be Trump's blind date running mate. He is turning this into a game show. Marion reflects on Leo Veradkar's Washington visit and why politicians tend to resign. What kind of resignation was this? The Oscars and the future of funding for Israel brutal assault on Gaza. A new investigation has made shocking revelations about October 7th. For the whole episode each week and to support the continuation of the series visit www.patreon.com/irishmanabroad

If a run happens in the woods and there's no watch there to record it and post it to Strava, did a run ever happen at all? Is the measuring of running ruining running? Sonia O'Sullivan and comedian Jarlath Regan ask whether the focus on data and super advanced technology is sucking the joy out of running? Later in the episode Sonia looks at the limits of data analytics for elite athletes and the one measurement even elite coaches are reluctant to ask their athletes about. One listener hits a big milestone and Jarlath experiments with low heart rate running. “Running is a long term relationship with yourself” according to Sonia. How can we make it one that lasts rather than a fling? Pop over to Patreon to see footage from Jarlath's latest road trip and listen to an extra 30 mins deep dive on this subject.
