This is message 45 in Gospel Record of John John 13:36-14:6 Jesus alone could accomplish the work of redemption, for only the sinless Son of God could bear weight of mankind's sin and open the way to the Father. Though His followers would fail in their own strength, He offered comfort, assurance, and hope by promising a prepared place for all who trust in Him. In a world filled with uncertainty and false paths, Christ stands as the only way of salvation, the unchanging truth that can be trust completely, and the source of eternal life that fully satisfies the soul. Jesus is the Life
Jesus is the Life
Many people try to have religion - church attendance, moral living, or even biblical knowledge without truly knowing Christ. But without Him, it is all empty—like artificial flowers that look real but have no life. Dead religion, emotional religion, or intellectual religion cannot give life. Only Jesus can. The message stresses that we must seek Christ Himself first—not merely the way or the truth as ideas. When a person bows before Him in faith and surrender, the way becomes clear and the truth becomes understandable. Eternal life is found in knowing Him personally, through the Word of God. Anything short of giving Him the supreme place in our lives leaves us in confusion and spiritual death.
John 1:1-5 Jesus Christ is eternal and fully God, existing before all things and standing as the Creator of everything that exists. Life itself flows from Him, and that life shines as light into a dark world that resists and rejects it. He is not a created being or a lesser expression of God, but God Himself made known. All creation testifies to His power, and every person is accountable for how they respond to the light He gives. The tragedy of humanity is not the absence of light, but the refusal to receive it, even as Christ continues to shine in truth, grace, and redemption. Sunday, December 21, 2025Jordan WeeksExclusive Christmas | Jesus is THE lifeJohn 14:6-7; 11:17-27Jesus announced himself as THE life. He didn't say that He could introduce people to what life really is, but rather centres true life on Himself. Jesus is what it means to really live. During His life, one of His close friends died, which gave Jesus the opportunity to not only raise Him from the dead, but to help clarify who He really is. And Jesus desires to give life to anyone who will come to Him. From Jesus' words, it seems that life can only be found through Him.
Jesus tells us that he has come that we might have abundant life, but his definition of ‘abundant' is different than the our's. This week we look at what the abundant life really is, and how we can experience it.

Message for 10/08/2023 "Jesus is the Life" by Justin McTeer. *All verses are NLT unless otherwise noted* “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me." John 11:25 - Jesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. John 6:35 - Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry again. Whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. John 4:10 - Jesus replied, “If you only knew the gift God has for you and who you are speaking to, you would ask me, and I would give you living water.” John 4:13-14 - Jesus replied, “Anyone who drinks this water will soon become thirsty again. 14 But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.” John 5:24-26 NIV - “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life. 25 Very truly I tell you, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. 26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. John 10:10 NIV - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Isaiah 38:10-12 I said, “In the prime of my life, must I now enter the place of the dead? Am I to be robbed of the rest of my years?”11 I said, “Never again will I see the Lord God while still in the land of the living. Never again will I see my friends or be with those who live in this world. 12 My life has been blown away like a shepherd's tent in a storm. It has been cut short, as when a weaver cuts cloth from a loom. Job 14:14 - Can the dead live again? If so, this would give me hope through all my years of struggle, and I would eagerly await the release of death. Matthew 16:24-25 - Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. John 10:10 NIV - The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! Romans 6:4b-7 - And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives. 5 Since we have been united with him in his death, we will also be raised to life as he was.6 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. 7 For when we died with Christ we were set free from the power of sin. Hebrews 2:14-15 - Because God's children are human beings—made of flesh and blood—the Son also became flesh and blood. For only as a human being could he die, and only by dying could he break the power of the devil, who had the power of death. 15 Only in this way could he set free all who have lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. 1 Corinthians 6:11 - Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Revelation 2:7 - Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches. To everyone who is victorious I will give fruit from the tree of life in the paradise of God.

Apr 30th 2023 - Jesus is the Life - Matt Litow by Nova Church Halifax
In this "identity" episode we will look at what it means that Jesus is The Life. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Dr. Patty shares the four "new truths" of the life in Christ Jesus that all born-again believers receive: a new wineskin, a new relationship with God, a new identity, and new capabilities. Jesus gives insight into each of them by interpreting the scriptures that show these truths. How are you like Superman when you live out of the truths of these new things because of Jesus' finished work on the cross? What would it look like if you were living these "new" truths fully in your life? Jesus answers this question in your Experience Jesus encounter time. Knowing the origin of life is one of science's most perplexing mysteries. No one has ever created life. The very source or substance of life hasn't been known to man. But 1 John 1:2 tells us something so profound; it says, *“…life was manifested, and we have seen it….”* This means life came out of obscurity and was shown to us. How? Who or what did John and the people of his day see that they called life? It was Jesus! He is life personified. Hallelujah! Imagine that you saw someone or something that says to you, *“I'm life; I'm responsible for your existence.”* What would you think? Well, it happened. That's what we read in our theme verse. Jesus said, *“...I am the way, the truth, and the life….”* That's an amazing declaration! Who could ever dare say such a thing? Jesus proved His claim: A man named Lazarus was dead and buried for four days, and they sent for Jesus. When Jesus got there, He said to Martha, Lazarus' sister, *“...I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live”* (John 11:25). Moments later, Jesus stood by the grave of Lazarus and *“...cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth”* (John 11:43). To the utter bewilderment of the people gathered, Lazarus came back to life! Hallelujah! That wasn't the first person He would raise from the dead. He had raised the widow's son at Nain (Luke 7:11-17), and Jairus' daughter (Luke 8:41-56). Jesus is the resurrection and the life. God gave Him power over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to as many as God has given Him (John 17:2). This covers everything that He came to do; it's the biggest of them all: He came to give us life. You received that life and became a partaker of the divine nature when you were born again. 1 John 5:11-12 says, *“… this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”* Glory to God! *CONFESSION* *I have the very life and nature of God in me, because I'm born again. This God-life makes me impregnable, causing me to walk in victory, glory, dominion and excellence always, in Jesus' Name. Amen.* *FURTHER STUDY:* *John 10:10 AMPC* The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). *1 John 5:11-13 NIV* And this is the testimony: God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. *1 John 1:1-3* That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life; (for the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;) that which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. 1-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN Philippians 3:12-4:1-3 & Isaiah 40-41 2-YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN Philemon 1:10-25 & Lamentation 1 To give towards sponsoring free copies please kindly click the below link https://buy.stripe.com/bIYcOj8vQepC3eM6op
John 15:1 "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” After telling His disciples the new commandment, to love as He loved them, Jesus explained how they were going to be able to obey. He was going to the Father to prepare a place for them so that He could live and love in them through the Holy Spirit. In chapter 15, Jesus chose the metaphors of a vinedresser and a grape vine to further explain how they were going to bear fruit for the glory of God. God, the Father of Jesus, planted only one true vine in this world, Jesus, His Son. He alone is the source of life to this world. In fact, He is the channel through which everything was created and exists. John introduced Jesus this way in John 1:1-4. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.” This is indeed the biblical worldview of all things. The world is the vineyard that belongs to the Father. He planted one true vine in this world, His Son, Jesus Christ. Paul put it this way to the Corinthians in chapter 8, verse 6. “Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom are all things and we exist for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we exist through Him.” The vineyard is there for the Father to enjoy the fruit from His choice Vine. However, not every branch (person produced by the Vine) bears fruit. As we meditate on John Chapter 15 the next few weeks and consider our lives each day, let us remember this foundational statement made by Jesus. “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” Why do we exist? What are we here to do? Will you recognize that Jesus is the only vine and that you came into being through Him?
