Cue up the Thin Lizzy for this Friday episode as "The Boys" return to the SGS feed. With Andy still overseas, Brendan is joined by Joseph LaMagna and PJ Clark for an insane Friday episode full of conspiracies, horse takes, gorilla hypotheticals, and Golf Advice. After a bit of Kentucky Derby chatter, initial takeaways from the CJ Cup Byron Nelson are shared and Joseph proposes a new "Cam Champ Rule" for PGA Tour venues. The three then preview this week's LIV Korea event and discuss the current state of Jon Rahm, David Puig, and Richard Bland, among others. In news, departments within the PGA Tour are shifting a bit and tournament weeks are now "event weeks" for these local communities. Before Golf Advice, "The Boys" get Brendan's thoughts on the latest 100 men vs. one gorilla hypothetical and wonder which pro golfers would be the biggest assets in this kind of fight. Golf Advice has a Champs Tour legend involved and more hole-in-one discourse. To wrap things up, Brendan chats with Joel Beall about his new book, Playing Dirty, which you can buy here.

Welcome to the Fore Golfers Network/Michigan Golf Live Podcast Ep 466 - Scotland, Sportswashing And The Love of Golf - Joel Beall In this in-depth interview, host Bill Hobson talks with author Joel Beall about his groundbreaking new book, Playing Dirty: Rediscovering Golf's Soul in Scotland in an Age of Sportswashing and Civil War. Beall takes us inside the battle for the soul of golf as the PGA Tour and LIV Golf wage war over the future of the sport, with billions of dollars, reputations, and the game's traditions at stake. Beall's journey leads him to Scotland, golf's birthplace, where he examines whether the sport's original values still hold strong amid the chaos of modern professional golf. He explores the impact of sportswashing—where powerful financial forces, including Saudi-backed LIV Golf, are reshaping the game—and questions whether the PGA Tour is truly the defender of golf's legacy or just another self-serving entity. This eye-opening discussion uncovers the greed, politics, and shifting allegiances defining golf's civil war. Beall provides a candid look at what's happening behind the scenes, the consequences for players and fans, and whether golf can ever return to its roots. Whether you're a die-hard golf fan or just fascinated by the intersection of sports, money, and power, this interview is a must-watch!

This PACKED Wednesday episode wanders around for an hour on a variety of important and inane topics on what should be an otherwise sleepy stretch of the golf year. Andy and Brendan begin with news of some truly horrific TV ratings from Sunday's PGA Tour event, which were beaten by LIV's own paltry ratings. Then they get to a Bloomberg report that talks between the PGA Tour and PIF might be held up on the notion that LIV players must return or forfeit their money from that enterprise, along with Joel Beall's reporting otherwise on what's truly holding up the talks: how LIV players are re-integrated back into the Tour. They discuss how that might happen, and who is actually worth taking back of real value. There's a lengthy Mid-Am digression with some notables and their incredible stories. There's also a segment on the legend of Sunny Abacoa coming out of the swamp to reclaim his MLGT throne. Schedule for the week goes deep on Champs Tour chatter at Pebble, as well as the DPWT's flagship event at Wentworth. They close with news on the Masters expanding coverage to Paramount Plus and a name for the Vegas match between LIV and PGA Tour stars.

This Monday episode is a departure from the heavy reading and listening on Nick Faldo of last week. We begin with some more reaction to The Match II becoming an official thing. We praise it, look forward to it, worry about the “banter” save for Peyton, and ponder Medalist as a venue. Then we discuss news of another potential match in South Florida united by one common OEM. A good article from Joel Beall in Golf Digest that reports on how the Tour’s return to action may look is reviewed. Shotlink sounds essential to any return. Broadcasts will look different. And purses will be smaller as events take significant revenue hits. In the back half of the episode, a giddy Andy reveals his walk-up music selections for what would have been the 2020 Zurich week. This was one of the more popular segments last year and Andy hits on several fun nicknames and controversial amusements in recent Shotgun Start history for this year’s playlist.
