Have you ever thought that asking the right questions of yourself could make a difference in your career and life? Well, my conversation with guest Laura Steward proved just that. Laura and I talked all about this very topic and how she has had an innate ability to cut to the chase and get to the very heart of the matter with questions since she was a little girl. You might be thinking, “Well, what if I don't ask all the right questions?” What if I spin and spin around the issues and make the pro and con list and don't seem to make the “right” decisions. (in air quotes). I'm so that person, making decisions with my head often and not my heart. Polling my mom, my brother, my sister-in-law and all the people without trusting myself. And bonus, not asking any other questions that could lead me to the right answer for me and my personal situation. Here's the good news: We can all learn to ask these questions and be heart-led. So no matter where you are in your life and career, there's something for you here in this discussion. Laura and I discussed the following during the show: - What prompted her to write her bestselling book, What Would a Wise Women Do? - What autopilot means and how we can stop living and working in autopilot mode - Examples of how asking the right questions made a difference in Laura's life - How writing a letter to yourself, God, the Universe or whoever you would like can help you find clarity you need in your life and career Show Resources: Brave Women at Work Website: https://www.bravewomenatwork.com 10 Steps to Being Brave at Work Freebie: https://www.bravewomenatwork.com/freebie Join the free, private Brave Women at Work Facebook Community: https://www.facebook.com/groups/bravewomenatwork Laura Steward Website: https://www.laurasteward.com/ Book: https://www.amazon.com/What-Would-Wise-Woman-Questions/dp/B00RKGNV3U/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=What+would+a+wise+woman+do%3F&qid=1624229127&sr=8-1 The Impostor Syndrome Files Podcast: https://www.google.com/search?q=The+Imposter+Syndrome+Files+podcast&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS793US793&oq=the+impost&aqs=chrome.1.69i57j69i59j35i39j46i433j46i131i433j0l4j46.2916j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Video Fizz is a platform stiching pictures and videos together with an evolving customer base, going from only personal and family events to including businesses. Laura has a background running large teams, most recently running a genomic sequencing business for GE in Houston and managing their oncology clinical trials business in California all while commuting from Kansas City for four years. She gave that up to be closer to her family and to take what she learned to form her own business. Took a terrifying leap to walk away from good salary Saw businesses, just a few, start to use Video Fizz. Real estate agents and Mary Kay type of companies started to use to promote themselves. An innocent meeting for advice with a man she assumed was a real estate broker who was actually the CEO of a large real estate company about her product led to a huge contract with thousands of agents. The growth was immediate and adjustments were made to satisfy agents and their ability to produce videos for clients in seconds. Beginning to explore the product with school districts. Survived with capital and staff of two for three years and now exploring capturing the market and building off niche by hiring new employes. Just received $250,000 award from Missouri Technology Corporation. Matched it and now have path to revenue. Great relationship with her chief technology officer and now looking for the right people and right culture. Feels confident in taking risks and comfortable handling failure. Importance of the little things. There are no little things in business. There’s no one big thing that happens. Product of multiple bricks beneath it. Everything matters, customer and every day interaction is most important. Some of best ideas come from customers. Everything matters. Challenge in transitioning to her own business is missing a big team. One brain and two brains doing it all. Miss the input from so many team members. Goal in five years to have platform serving multiple verticals. If not acquired, hope to be a large company serving many verticals. She started  Wisdom Learned LLC, a company which is dedicated to educating leaders, based on experience and wisdom, after first building and then selling her highly successful Technology Services Company, which she started after being offered a package to leave her corporate job with a Fortune 100 Company.     Laura has tons of certifications, as well as a Computer Science Degree,  a Technical Writing Degree and a Masters Degree.    Laura is the author of a Novice Award winning, number one International Best Selling book, called What Would A Wise Woman Do? - Questions To Ask Along The Way, which was on the Amazon Woman In Business Best Seller List for over ninety straight weeks at launch and continues to hit best seller lists across the world.     Through her weekly broadcast radio show, It's All About The Questions and her keynote speeches, books, seminars, training and one-on-one sessions, Laura's mission is crystal clear- it's to help people get off auto-pilot and create amazing, successful lives.    Show highlights:   Laura had zero limiting beliefs about selling, when she first started her Tech Services Company.  She brought in six figures within the first year and never looked back from there. After she sold her company, however, she had massive limiting beliefs. She had let all her employees go, as things weren't working out and she found herself in a void, not knowing where she was headed. She then realized that she actually had so much business booked, that she had to pick herself up. So she made some calls and got a really fantastic response from many people, all willing to help her to service her clients! So, her business took off again and from that point on, her income doubled!  That really gave her a chance to rethink how she was doing business. This was when she decided to sell. She was offered way less than she thought the company to be worth and she then realized that this was because she no longer had any recurring revenues, or contracts.     When she restarted her business from the ground up again, it transformed the business, the values and the  revenues  to the company. She eventually sold the company after fifteen years and many different partners.  When Laura started a new company, however, she thought that she lacked the technical degrees, to allow her to consult and work with other companies to grow their businesses. This really was not true- it was just a massive limiting belief- and this prevented her from generating any revenue at all. Even her highly successful book did not turn this belief around for her. It took a number of years for her to fully integrate that she had actually run a highly successful business, with a seven figure revenue. That, her Masters Degree and her lessons learned from the school of hard knocks, finally became clear to her. She realized that her number one limiting belief was due to Imposter Syndrome. Laura realized that she had been consulting with CEO's of Fortune 10 Companies, being the Technical Support for corporations, when she ran her Tech Company. What set her company apart from the average Tech Company, was that they were business focused, so she would design technology around the goals and aspirations of the businesses that she was working with, so she had to work around business blocks that these businesses were having and this helped to realize the skills that she really had. This broke her limiting beliefs and clients suddenly started coming on board. Laura has been caring for her mom, who suffers from Dementia and Heart Failure, for the past five years- and she got divorced during this time too. She started looking around, at what she loved and how she could best help others, after all that she's been through emotionally and with her business and this, together with the true friends that she has, started a positive shift within her. A friend suggested that Laura would make a great Radio Show Host. She tried it and loved it! Her own Radio Show was a big turning point for her- with that, she could make a difference by being herself! Laura has learned to trust herself, over the years. She's also learned that she needs to define what both success and failure mean for her. She's had to ask herself 'why' and work out whether her limiting beliefs are actually her own, or whether they possibly come from someone else, or from the 'collective of the world'. Cleaning house, both internally and with the people that Laura surrounds herself with, and  serving people to the level that they want to keep coming back (recurring revenue), are the two strategies that have really helped her to double her sales. The biggest thing that Laura teaches her clients, is how to look at their why- in other words, to question their own motivation for doing what they do. She uses an exercise that she calls 'The Five Why's'. She also helps her clients to look outside of their picture frame.   Laura's book, What Would A Wise Woman Do? Questions To Ask Along The Way, is available from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, or from Independent Book Stores.    Laura is offering you, the listener, a free 15 minute Consultation with her. Reach out to her at laura@laurasteward.com, or go to her special page on her website at www.laurasteward.com/ursula. You can also get some other free resources there, including a download with questions to help you to get outside the frame and look back in.

Stephen is the CEO of Predictive ROI and the host of the Onward Nation podcast. He is the author of two bestselling books, speaker, trainer, and his digital marketing insights have been featured in SUCCESS, Entrepreneur, The Washington Post, Forbes, Inc. Magazine, and other media. Good Morning Onward Nation...welcome to Episode 376...I’m Stephen Woessner. I hope you had a wonderful and very Happy Thanksgiving last week with friends and family — and in the process — you were able to take some time to think about all of the people and opportunities in your life to be grateful and thankful for. Because we all — no matter what the circumstances pulling or pushing us from inside or outside of the business — have an abundance of opportunity and much to be thankful for. Now, if your business is breaking into new levels and momentum is at full force — having an abundance mindset, is quite frankly, easy. But, if you are struggling to make ends meet, if you are in danger of not making payroll (I’ve been there by the way), or you have employee issues, customer issues, and nothing seems to be going your way — and you just need a break — thinking about abundance may seem like mystic dark magic voodoo or a bit like staring into a crystal ball and to learn any sort of nugget about your future. And when you’re back is up against the wall — and mine has been, Onward Nation — so I get it — I understand it’s hard to show up every day with your mind fixated on abundance. But if you just break free, inch by inch, and realize that you don’t need to win the war all in one day, that sometimes solving just one problem today build momentum. And then tomorrow another. And then tomorrow another. And eventually you can begin to feel confident in metaphorically putting on what Garrett Gunderson recently described to me as “The Armor of Abundance.” And he wears his every day. You will soon hear Garrett tell his story in Episode 388 that will air on December 15th, Onward Nation, and how even when the times were the toughest for him, the toughest for his family, and for his business — he refused to give up. Even when he was writing checks for tens of thousands of dollars or hundreds of thousands of dollars to vendors who had done him wrong...he pushed forward. He refused to, using Garrett’s words, he refused to “Gnaw on the bones of scarcity.” And who taught him those lessons? Mentors. Onward Nation...nothing will affect the trajectory of your business or your life like a good — or bad — mentor can. We talk a lot about mentorship with our guests — but — it has been some time since I shared any of my thoughts on the importance of your inner circle, how to build a culture of greatness within your company, and ultimately, how to find great mentors and advisors who will help you unlock that next level in your business. So to add some value in each of these areas during today’s episode — I am going to share with you — in its entirety — an interview Laura Steward and I did when she was kind enough to invite me to be a guest on her show, entitled “It’s All About the Questions” and you can find her at LauraSteward.com. True to the name of the show — Laura asked great questions and we dug into mentorship, inner circle, how to make the difficult transition from one circle to another, how to deal with the insecurities of others and not letting them affect your business and life, and a more — all focused on how to eliminate the guesswork to mentorship and learning — because getting it right is critical to your success. So, here we go, Episode 81 of “It’s All About the Questions” with Laura Steward and me. Episode Link: www.laurasteward.com/81-stephen-woessner-onward-nation-digital-marketing-simplified.html My hope for you is that you found the lessons Laura and I discuss to be helpful — to be recipes and tactical ingredients you can break down and insert into your business right away to accelerate your results — to be able to build a culture of greatness within your business while measuring your ROI in a complex digital world. So with that, Onward Nation...I want to say thank you again for taking the time to be here with me today. It is an honor to have you here — thank you for tuning in — I am delighted you chose this episode to be what you listen to, study, and take with you on your morning run, or maybe Onward Nation has become part of your daily commute, or in some other way has become part of your morning routine. I want you to know how much I appreciate you sharing some of your invaluable 86,400 seconds you have in your day with me and the strategies we learn and share each day from today’s top business owners. And please continue to let me know what you think of Onward Nation...good or bad...I always want your feedback. You can hit me up on Twitter, find us on Facebook, me on LinkedIn, or you are always welcome to email me directly at stephen@onwardnation.com — and yes — that is my actual email address — no fancy filters or filing system — it will come directly to me. We will be back tomorrow with an incredible encore interview with Dr. Alan Pitt — don’t miss it because Alan digs deep into how the healthcare industry has and continues to change — and the impact that will have on us as consumers within the system. The conversation with Alan is transformation — you will love it. Until then, onward with gusto!

Business Coaching with Join Up Dots

My guest today, on the Steve Jobs inspired Join Up Dots free podcast interview is a man who was introduced to the show by a previous guest and personal friend of mine Laura Steward. She said to me “David, why the hell have I not introduced you to this amazing guest before?” And I said “I dont know Laura, only you know the answer to that!” Well, introduced us she did, and aren't I glad that he is now here, as he is a man who is doing things in a very different way to many people that I have spoken to on the show. He has worked in the high technology and software industries since 1978 as a programmer, salesman, field sales engineer and marketer and has joined up many dots that has now allowed him to start living a life full of passion. He is the author of  Selling Steve Jobs' Liver?” which is a bizarre title for a book, but seems a perfect one for Join Up Dots once you start reading it. And he is also the author of “In Search of Stupidity: Over 20 Years of High-Tech Marketing Disasters,” too. But that is just one side of how he also juggles his time and passions,  as away from the typewriter he is also the editor of Softletter, and happens to also be the COO of a new SaaS startup too. So has writing about startups and entrepreneurial legends given him the secret steps that guarantee success? And does he see an explosion of entrepreneurs coming our way due to the success of shows like this, where quite frankly they should stay as far away as they can from being the next startup? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots with the one and only Mr Rick Chapman.

I had always heard names had power and there are a lot of experts out there who use numerology, astrology and many other "ologies" to tell us who we are. I have explored many to understand who I am and why I am here on this planet. When I got divorced I wondered, "is Laura Steward the same person as Laura Atchison?" I wondered, what will happen when I go back to my maiden name? Will anyone even notice? Have you ever noticed how sometimes you get introduced to someone and you say to yourself, "that name fits them, or it doesn't fit them?" Or met someone and felt you must get away or you don't trust them and have no idea why? My guest today is the Founder of Neimology ® Science and she is going to share with us how your name tells the world all about you and how you can use that to have an incredible life. And she also shares with us certain letter patterns in people's names that can indicate we are not safe around them. Sharón Lynn Wyeth is recognized internationally as a name expert as she can determine one's strengths, challenges and the purpose of one's life by deciphering a person's name. Sharón created Neimology® Science, the study of the placement of the letters in a name, after 15 years of research followed by 3 years of testing her theories in over 70 countries. She wanted to see if her methodology held true in different languages, and indeed it does. The greatest gift that came from developing Neimology® Science was being able to see all people as One, as our basic desires remain the same regardless of where we live or what culture we are experiencing. Today she assists the HR departments of different businesses in narrowing down the candidates to be interviewed, assists lawyers in how to present cases to judges, and couples and families on how to better communicate with each other. She also creates names for new business and new products. Sharón is a frequent guest on both radio and television

Laura Steward interviews Bob Burg discussing the questions he asks and all about applying the international bestselling sensation The Go-Giver to your life and business.   There are people you meet in your life, books you read and words you hear that permanently affect how you look at the world, the course of your life and your work. Such a person for me is Bob Burg. When I first read The Go-Giver, jointly written with the other amazing man, John David Mann, I had one of the biggest "ahas" of my life as I realized I was not alone in the world with how I viewed the world and it was OK to be fully me. Then I met Bob and we became friends and I learned that he walks the talk and is one of the finest people I have ever met.   What I've learned from Bob are these things, be true to yourself, when you live your passion the money will come and most of all that you can systematically get the results you want from others while making them feel genuinely good about themselves, about the process and about you. And oh yeah, not everyone will like you and that's okay too.   Bob Burg is a sought-after speaker at corporate conferences and for entrepreneurial events. He regularly addresses audiences ranging in size from 50 to 16,000 - sharing the platform with notables including today's top thought leaders, broadcast personalities, Olympic athletes and political leaders including a former United States President.   Although for years he was best known for his book Endless Referrals, over the past few years it's his business parable, The Go-Giver (coauthored with John David Mann) that has captured the heart and imagination of his readers.   It shot to #6 on The Wall Street Journal's Business Bestsellers list just three weeks after its release and reached #9 on BusinessWeek's. It's been translated into 21 languages, and it's his fourth book to sell over 250,000 copies.   He believes his new book, Adversaries into Allies: Win People Over Without Manipulation or Coercion is by far his most important work yet.    Bob is an advocate, supporter and defender of the Free Enterprise system, believing that the amount of money one makes is directly proportional to how many people they serve. He is also an unapologetic animal fanatic and serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Furry Friends Adoption and Clinic in Jupiter, Florida.

It's with great delight that I welcome on todays show a lady who is the a author of a very cool book called, What Would a Wise Woman Do: Questions to Ask Along the Way. But don't think for a moment that this is a show that will only apply to the ladies of the world, as this is all about living an amazing life, and working out the right questions to make this happen. You see that is the subtle difference. Most people go looking for the answers, but skip the most important part....the questions. From the wisdom she learned at her mother's side to the insight she gained baking pies with her Grandmother, our guest has developed an innate ability to ask the questions that propel business leaders and entrepreneurs to incredible achievements. And this is where it gets really good. It's not about working from a higher level of consciousness. Or having the inside track that has cost thousands of dollars to get. Instead our guest works from a simple philosophy – “Treat people better than they expect to be treated”, and it is from this belief that she was able to carve her niche and stand out in the highly competitive IT field, building Guardian Angel Computer Services from a sole employee business into a leading provider of Managed Technical Services. And we can all do that can't we? Teat people well, help people get everything they want in life,  enjoy ourselves doing it and see the amazing life start forming around us! But of course the million dollars question is why do people have a hard time buying into such a simple premise that leads towards success? And of course having a wise woman on the show, what are the key questions that we should be asking ourselves on a daily basis to help us along the way? Well let's find out as we bring onto the show to start joining up dots, with the one and only Laura Steward.
