Abortion has been packaged and falsely marketed as a form of healthcare necessary for women's empowerment, while pro-life advocacy has been mislabeled as anti-woman. Dr. Christina Francis knows this reasoning is backwards, and she uses her voice to fight for the wellbeing of women and babies. Today, she does that as an OB-GYN and CEO of the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists (AAPLOG). Dr. Francis works hard to inform women about the realities of chemical abortion as well as the lifesaving option of abortion pill reversal. This week, she talks about her journey of becoming a passionate pro-life advocate, the harms of chemical abortion, the progress of her lawsuit against the FDA, and how Christians can be thoroughly pro-life.    Alliance Defending Freedom  American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists  March for Life  Live Action  The Case for Life: Equipping Christians to Engage the Culture by Scott Klusendorf  The Way of Medicine: Ethics and the Healing Profession by Dr. Fahr Curlin and Chris Tollefson    Secular culture has widely embraced the destructive ideas produced by Critical Theory. Is abortion ever a permissible act? In this episode we make the case that the unborn is a human person and that it is not permissible to kill innocent human beings. We cover tactics that you can use when discussing abortion with your pro-choice friends. We need to be prepared for arguments such as: “I believe in a woman’s right to choose”, “What about cases of rape or incest?”, “I do not believe that the unborn is a human person”. Proponents of the Pro-life movement must be equipped to intelligently answer these objections and help others to see that their arguments do not justify the killing of the most vulnerable people in our society. We hope to encourage and educate you with these pro-life apologetic arguments, in hopes that you will be an ambassador for those who have no choice or voice in the matter, the unborn. Jesus came that we might have life, and life abundantly. As people who have been given physical and spiritual life, we must champion and fight for the lives of others. America Under House Arrest: Why the cure is now worse than the disease - An interview with Scott Klusendorf | The Mark Harrington Show | 4-23-20 America is rapidly approaching 1 million cases of COVID 19. Thus far, 47,000 Americans have died from COVID-19. Just how much worse remains to be seen. There are too many unknowns. Some medical experts predict millions of deaths worldwide unless we continue to lockdown society and enforce strict social distancing for 12 to 18 months.  Others say those projections are not only wrong, they are overstated “by orders of magnitude.”  The problem is existing figures may not tell us to what extent COVID-19 causes death. Today, Mark interviews Scott Klusendorf, President of Life Training Institute about his recent article published in the Christian Research Journal entitled Covid-19 Do Pro-life Principles Require A Sustained Shut Down of the Economy? Who Decides? Read Scott’s article HERE: https://bit.ly/2RXuJzJ Russell Moore of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Council writes in the New York Times that pro-life Christians must abandon any consideration of the economy and remain sheltered-in-place as long as lives are at risk. “Each human life is more significant than a trillion-dollar gross national product. Stocks and bonds are important, yes, but human beings are created in the image of God.”   Q: How should pro-life Christians respond to COVID-19? Here are a some of the other questions: Q: Are pro-life advocates who question a prolonged economic lockdown trading lives for profits, thus undermining their core principles? Or is this a false choice? Q: Do doctors have a corner on how we structure society in light of a pandemic, or do we need voices beyond the hard sciences? Do these experts have a trump card (pun intended)? Who decides? Q: Are protesters unqualified to address the economic shutdown? Q: What are the threats to human life with a continued economic shutdown? Suicide. Poverty. Gambling. Depression. Mental illness. Elective surgeries. Drug and alcohol abuse. Civil unrest? Scott travels throughout the United States and Canada training pro-life advocates to persuasively defend their views in the public square. David Boonins new book Beyond Roe Why Abortion Should Be Legal Even if the Fetus Is a Person hits the shelves as the world ramps up the political wars over abortion. The Supreme Courts ideological make up may have shifted for the first time in decades as a result of President Trumps appointments of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh. Abortion rights supporters fear that Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision responsible for protecting the right to an abortion in all fifty states, may be in jeopardy. New York, Illinois, and other state legislatures rushed to amend their laws to protect abortion in the event Roe falls. States such as Georgia, Ohio, and Alabama sought to push the boundaries of the current climate to test if they can restrict access to abortion. Celebrities, business leaders, and cultural influencers threaten boycotts while the Senate calls in social media executives to answer charges of discriminating against pro lifers. This book and its arguments could not be more timely or relevant, given the current climate. This Postmodern Realities episode is a conversation with Journal author Jay Watts about his online exclusive review Are Laws Restricting Abortion Forced Organ Donation? We also discuss our current political climate specifically with regard to the latest New York bill, Roe v. Wade, and the charge that evangelicals are too one-issue driven.
