The global news may be fraught with crime, division and war, but for the vast majority of people, the most pressing issue they face in real life is money. All those who haven't been living underground in the last 10 years will know that prices are going up and budgets are getting tighter. So why has this happened? Can it be reversed? Are billionaires and bankers the culprits? Piers Morgan moderates a vital debate between rogue economist and ex-trader Gary Stevenson and pro-capitalist political commentator, Dave Rubin. The good name of Hollywood has never been so marred and muddied as it's been over the last decade. It's not just the myriad examples of recent big blockbuster flops, it's the assumed impropriety of the average denizen of Tinseltown now beginning to include high crimes such as rape and even murder. Piers Morgan intends to cover the current events of Joker: Folie à Deux, the Netflix dramatization of the Menendez Brothers' murders and the unfurling scandal of Diddy with gusto. To do just that, Uncensored contributor Esther Krakue, author of 'The Case for Cancel Culture' Ernest Owens, Jeremy Prime from Geeks and Gamers, Chief Film Critic for Variety Peter Debruge and former Mafia boss Michael Franzese all give their expert opinions. In his latest book, Mike McCormick, a former White House stenographer, shares dramatic assertions about the dealings of President Joe Biden. The author suggests that the President could be accused of criminal activity with the implication of the Ukrainian energy company, Bursima Holdings, which was once associated with Hunter Biden. McCormick pens his observations in his book titled 'The Case to Impeach and Imprison Joe Biden: The Family's Foreign Influence-Poaching Conspiracy in Ukraine'. The seasoned scribe alleges Biden's involvement in the Burisma affair, citing he gained his convictions after thoroughly examining the emails from Hunter Biden's laptop. McCormick shares, 'Initially, I thought Joe was a harmless character — egotistical, somewhat comedic, and not quite presidential, but nevertheless harmless. However, my subsequent views have decidedly shifted. I now see him as being potentially involved in criminal activities, such that impeachment and imprisonment appear to be serious considerations.' Between 2011 to 2017, McCormick worked closely with then-Vice President Biden, transcribing his speeches and interviews, affording him a unique perspective on the inner workings of the administration. He believes he was privy to the negotiated deal with Ukraine to fund its energy sector primarily through Burisma and in return for a position on Burisma's board of directors for Biden's son, Hunter. The ex-stenographer recalls a crucial trip to Poland in 2014 when potential signs of the alleged kickback scheme unraveled. His access and subsequent insights revealed deductions that other reporters may have missed, owing significantly to the depth of his research into the issue.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Dr. Tommy Ice is the director of the Pre-Trib Research Center which he co-founded in 1994 with Dr. Tim LaHaye. He has authored or co-authored over 30 books, written hundreds of articles and is a frequent conference speaker. He's also served as a pastor for 17 years. He appeared on Crosstalk to discuss his book, 'The Case for Zionism- Why Christians Should Support Israel'.--According to Dr. Ice, Zionism involves people, including Christians, who believe that God has given Israel the land of Israel.--There are Christian anti-Zionists. This goes back to the 2nd century of the early church when people began to say that the church was the new Israel. That developed into the belief that the church has replaced Israel -Replacement Theology or Supersessionism-. This has been the majority view down through church history especially within the Catholic and Greek Orthodox churches.--Dr. Ice disagrees with Replacement Theology. He noted that there are 3 chapters in Romans where Paul says that God has not rejected his people whom he foreknew. Paul then goes on to note that their hardness is temporary and that sometime in the future all Israel will be saved. For Dr. Ice, that means every Jew that's alive toward the end of the tribulation will become a believer.--Dr. Ice's book teaches that the world has witnessed -in the last few years- the greatest increase of anti-Semitism since WWII. Dr. Ice believes this to be especially true when you factor in the Islamic world. Up to about 70 years ago when Israel became a nation, anti-Semitism involved hatred toward Jewish people. Today that includes hating the nation of Israel and Zionism.

The market for real handmade products is reported to have surged in recent years. Initiatives such as Australia's Seasons of New England Expo and Makers Markets in the UK have led to a revival in small artisanal businesses. Online platforms also give skilful craftspeople a vast market to sell to. Business Daily's David Reid hears from sellers in Manchester making things as diverse as balloon animals and mushroom growing kits. We also hear about the benefits of working with your hands. The philosopher and motor mechanic, Matthew Crawford, is the author of 'The Case for Working with your Hands' and 'The World Beyond Your Head' – he tells us why office work and current management practices have removed judgement and decision making from our day-to-day efforts and alienated us from the real results of the work we do. Megan Quinn published a rather fascinating article at YourTango.com last week, about a social experiment reality TV show from the UK, in which 10 boys and 10 girls were placed together in a house, in two separate instances, without adults present, except to monitor from outside, and the houses fully furnished, and stocked with food and cooking implements, and also toys and crafts. The results were just as I would have predicted as a father of seven sons, that at the end of the five days the house of boys was a great big mess, and the house of girls was clean and tidy. In the former case, there was rough play, and lots of sugary food eaten, and also bullying. In the latter case, one girl immediately stepped up to coordinating the meal prep, and all the girls cleaned up after themselves and comforted one another when sad. It would be fascinating to see another experiment run with girls and boys dropped off in the wilderness, with tools and weapons and survival training, but no shelter or food, having to build a place to live, and having to go hunt and forage, then turn the findings into food. Nevertheless, such a study will not be had in our day, of that I am sure. And in the meantime, we can entertain ourselves well enough with ongoing debates about Stephen Wolfe's book, The Case for Christian Nationalism, which Kevin DeYoung recently wrote a lengthy review of for The Gospel Coalition. Before getting into that, however, I should like to say a word or two about how manly strength is not a vice, and that we must try hard not to think of power as inherently corrupt, lest we get the mistaken notion that God being all-powerful, for instance, is a bad thing, or in some way diminishes His righteousness. This is, not coincidentally, why I cheer a federal appeals court striking down the ban on "bump stocks" for modern sporting rifles, which still represents to my mind one of the biggest mistakes of the Trump administration, since the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution is pretty clear, and it is proper for our government to remember and uphold that fact. But Proverbs 24:5 comes to mind also, in all of the above, where it says "A wise man is full of strength, and a man of knowledge enhances his might," just going to show that it is virtuous for godly men as providers and protectors to get wisdom, knowledge, and strength all at the same time, to the end of being dependable for their families and friends. On the other hand, there is a certain unmanly sensibility which has wormed its way into the American Christian conception of what a man who is following Jesus should look, sound, and act like, which Stephen Wolfe speaks to in his book, by the way, as quoted by DeYoung's review of it at TGC. And concerning all of the above, I think that it is true, all at the same time, that Wolfe's rhetoric could use a tune-up, even as the strongest detractors and targets of his work need a different kind of correction. Caution about the consumption of vegetable oils is warranted, to be sure. But mocking manbuns and soy boys misses the forest for the trees if the real root of the problem lies in having internalized a distorted belief about strength, that admiring and encouraging it in others, or getting it for ourselves, is not the same thing as being envious of evil men, whatever violence they do with theirs. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/garrett-ashley-mullet/message

Despite frequent doom projections about "overpopulation", most developed societies today are experiencing a growing crisis of low birth rates, with many prominent nations facing the prospect of being unable to replace their populations long-term. This problem is due not only to rising infertility rates but also to the preference of many modern couples to remain "child-free" by choice or to severely limit the number of children they think they could have. What do such attitudes tell us about the deeper roots of individualism and consumerism within our culture? What should Christians be thinking and saying about this problem? Sadly, instead of speaking up, many churches have swallowed the worldly notion that children are to be seen more as a burden than a blessing. How do we uphold the Biblical significance of child-rearing without making an idol out of parenting? How do we bear witness to godly notions of family at a time when the very concept of Christian family is being eroded? Join Andy and Aaron as (dad jokes in hand) they dive into this contentious, topical, and crucial issue with a mixture of wit and wisdom. RESOURCES: - Carle C. Long before Lee Strobel became a bestselling author, most notably for his watershed book, "The Case for Christ," he was a nose-to-the-grindstone investigative reporter known for his relentless pursuit of the truth. But beyond the grit and grind of the hard-charging newspaper industry, Strobel was an avowed atheist. So deeply rooted in his beliefs, he set out to debunk every claim that Christianity ever made. There was only one problem. He couldn't do it. In a similar dogged fashion, Strobel had a brush with death a few years ago that inspired him to explore mankind's biggest fear: what happens when we die? Do we go to heaven, hell, or someplace in between? The end result for him was a book, "The Case for Heaven," that took readers on a detailed exploration of the most logical outcomes for a human being's demise. Strobel joins us on The Crossmap Podcast to discuss his latest movie project, “The Case for Heaven," a Fathom movie event to be shown in theaters nationwide April 4, 5, and 6. Listen as Strobel builds his case in support of the afterlife, why death is not the end of our existence, and what actually happens when we take our last breath.

A brush with death nearly a decade ago convinced Chrisitan author Lee Strobel that he needed to find out about this thing called Heaven that his faith promised he would go to once life left his body. The one-time atheist journalist- turned Christian, is known for his investigative skills in researching Christian beliefs. It was because of his skeptical approach to ferreting out the facts of the faith that he became a believer in Jesus Christ. His book, "The Case for Christ," is a best seller. Since then, he's written several books on the same theme to explore Christianity's claims. "The Case for a Creator," and "The Case for Miracles" are a couple more. But now his latest offering is, "The Case for Heaven." Strobel takes a hard look at this ethereal place asking, What is Heaven? Where is Heaven? Is Heaven a place or a state of mind? And what about Hell? The Bible talks about it being a place of fire and darkness where the Satan and his minions will suffer eternal damnation. However, many theologians believe this 'fire and darkness' is only metaphor for the inner turmoil of being separated from God. On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, Strobel talks about what he has uncovered in his interviews with experts. Plus, he searches for answers through science about the nature of the soul. What is the soul? Can it be separated from your body? What about reincarnation and cremation? Are they consistent with Jesus's teachings or opposed to them. And finally, could Near Death Experiences (NDR's) be the clue to telling us about heaven... and hell? Strobel explores how this heavily researched and documented phenomenon shows convincing proof that Heaven exists, and so does Hell.
Kirk and Mike pay tribute to one of their all-time favorites: Norm Macdonald. From SNL to Late Night appearances, they detail their favorite Norm moments. Team Minihane grabbed another win last in The Dozen after Pat pulled out a phenomenal answer when it mattered most. In a shocking move, Kirk announces he offered the producer position for Season 2 of 'The Case' to Harrison but is still waiting on an answer.
Lee Strobel was a tough-minded no-nonsense court reporter for the Chicago Tribune, when his world turned upside down. His wife, Leslie became a Christian! This development drove Lee to "prove her wrong" by conducting a two-year thorough investigation of the evidences for Jesus. The outcome was that Lee himself accepted Christ as his own Savior and Lord. The Case for Christ is the story of Lee's journey of faith through this deep investigation through reading, interviewing a variety of "expert witnesses," and carefully analyzing the inescapable conclusion that Jesus of Nazareth was, in fact, the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament, the Son of God. In the intervening 40 years since his conversion, Strobel has written over 40 books, and has become one of America's foremost Christian apologists. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/goodlifenews/support

On the Friday interview edition of the Daily Daily Caller Podcast we sit down with Rich Lowry, editor of National Review, about his new book, "The Case for Nationalism: How it Made Us Powerful, United, and Free." Also, Chris "Fredo" Cuomo makes a clown of himself...again. CNN's Chris Cuomo thought he had himself a great idea to prove President Donald Trump a liar by showing it's easy to overhear a cellphone conversation without it being on speakerphone. Like so much of what CNN does, it went horribly wrong and he ended up making himself look like a fool. We have the audio and mock him appropriately. We sat down this week with Rich Lowry, editor of National Review and author of the new book, "The Case for Nationalism." We cover a lot of ground, everything from the true history of nationalism to the evolution of Donald Trump from wild card candidate to one of the most conservative presidents ever. It's a fascinating interview.
Today on The Editors, Rich goes solo to talk about themes in his new book, 'The Case for Nationalism.'
In this “Best Of” podcast, Rusty revisits a conversation with Lee Strobel on 'The Case for Christ' and just how searching for evidence that He didn't exist, brought Strobel straight to Jesus. Atheist-turned-Christian Lee Strobel is the former award-winning legal editor of The Chicago Tribune and best-selling author of more than twenty books. His classic, The Case for Christ, is a perennial favorite which details his conversion to Christianity. His recent release, The Case for Grace, won the 2016 Nonfiction Book of the Year from the EPCA. For the last twenty-five years, his life’s work has been to share the evidence that supports the truth and claims of Christianity and to equip believers to share their faith with the people they know and love.

Professor John J. Mearsheimer (University of Chicago) presents the conclusions of his latest article published in 'Foreign Affairs' on offshore balancing. Mearsheimer sets out his case against the practice of liberal hegemony by the US, making the bold statement that Presidents Bush and Obama have acted very similarly when it comes to intervention abroad. He examines the track record of US involvement in places like Iraq, Libya, Egypt and Syria before moving on to explain why 'offshore balancing' would be a superior strategy for the US government to adopt. Mearsheimer argues that by managing conflict from afar, the US can halt the buck passing that is so common in international relations today, free up resources to be spent domestically and curb the spread of terrorism. His argument is tempered by a caveat for conflict with potential world hegemons: while he believes that the US can retreat from Europe and the Gulf, onshore involvement will be increasingly required in China as it poses a strategic threat to the US that will not be tempered independently by Russia. Discussant and DPhil student Ulrike Franke (DPIR) whose research examines drone warfare questions Mearsheimer on his conceptualization of liberal hegemony, the role of NATO and the Obama administration's legacy. She also raises the relevance of public opinion for his theory's implications. 'The Case for Offshore Balancing' is coauthored with Stephen M. Walt (Harvard Kennedy School) and may be found here: https://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/united-states/2016-06-13/case-offshore-balancing.
What is the essence of a unibrow? How do you make a comedic hit? You get a director who doesn't understand English, a comedian who looks like Martin Freeman, and Vidar Magnussen who writes three minutes of utter nonsense. That's BBBC's Sherlock by NRK, and it's glorious. The first skit, Oklahomo, became so popular online that another was commissioned and now here's the third! Babes Maria, Taylor, and Sora sit down with mastermind Vidar to talk about how the skits came to be, specifically about 'The Case of the Missing Shoulder' and how "[i]t's a very strange collaboration of people not knowing what the hell they're doing."
