Shohei Ohtani hit his MLB leading 11th home run- his fourth in three games- to lead the Dodgers past the Miami Marlins 6-3 on Monday night in LA.Ohtani has homered in three straight games for the eighth time in career. This is the fourth time he's hit four in a three-game span.It was the worst start of the year so far for Roddery Muñoz, (1-1) who gave up six earned runs on seven hits in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.Freddie Freeman, James Outman and Teoscar Hernandez also went deep for the Dodgers, who have won four games in a row.The Dodgers' Walker Buehler's made his first start in nearly two years, going four innings, allowing three runs and six hits with four strikeouts.The Marlins scored twice in the first inning on RBI singles by Bryan De La Cruz and Jesús Sánchez. The A's scored 20 earned runs on twenty-one hits off three Marlins pitchers- including a 10-run third inning- as they blasted Miami 20-4 in Oakland.Brent Rooker hit a two-run home run and a three-run shot as part of a three-hit, 5 RBI day for the A's, who also got three hits apiece from Shea Langeliers, Darell Hernaiz and (former Marlin) J.J. The Miami Marlins and their season-high three-game win streak hopped off the plane in Oakland riding all kinds of momentum into this weekend series in Oakland. Unfortunately, their hot bats did not make the trip, at least for the opener, as they lost 3-1. The A's did just enough on offense for lefty JP Sears (2-2), who pitched 6 1/3 scoreless innings- allowing just four hits- and won for the first time in four starts. Vidal Brujan had three hits and an RBI for the Marlins, who were without hot-hitting second baseman Luis Arraez, who has reportedly been traded to the San Diego Padres. Marlins left-hander Ryan Weathers (2-3) was lit up for three runs on five hits and struck out five with no walks over six innings. Brent Rooker hit a two-run home run for Oakland. The A's are 16-17 on the season. They lost 112 games last year, and didn't win their 16th game until late June. The two teams resume their three-game series tomorrow in Oakland, with first pitch set for 4:07pm. Jazz Chisolm Jr hit his fifth career grand slam as the Marlins erupted for six runs in the first inning off the National's Patrick Corbin, but it was not enough, as Miami lost their sixth straight game, 12-9 at Loan Depot Park. Luis Arraez, Bryan De La Cruz and Vidal Brujan each went 2-4 for the Fish, who had six hitters drive in at least a run in the game. Chisolm, Jr., now has six career grand slams, second on the Marlin's all-time list behind Mr. Marlin himself, Jeff Conine. Nick Senzel crushed two home runs for the Nats, driving in five runs. Joey Meneses hit a two-run single in the top of the eighth inning to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Washington Nationals past the Miami Marlins 3-1 in the opener of this four-game series tonight at Loan Depot Park. Meneses, who is hitting almost .400 with seven RBI's over the last week, also drove in the Nats' 1st run on a double-play groundout in the sixth. Derek Law pitched two innings of scoreless relief, striking out five to pick up the win in back of starter Trevor Williams, who pitched five solid innings. Nick Fortes hit a bloop single to drive in Vidal Brujan with Miami's only run. The Atlanta Braves shut out the Miami Marlins for the second night in a row, winning game two of their three-game series by the score of 5-0. Max Fried (2-0) threw a complete-game three-hit shutout, striking out six and walking none to pick up the win for the 1st-place Braves. Adam Duvall went 2-4 with a home run, two RBI's and two runs scored to lead Atlanta's 10-hit attack. Mike Harris II and Travis d'Arnaud added two hits each for the first-place Braves. Luis Arraez had two of Miami's three hits, none of which went for extra bases. The Marlins have now been shut out three times this season.
