This week's episode is a bit of a mish mash we have our usual footy chat , we talk about drugs in cycling, olympians not getting paid, we talk union vs league the ups and downs. We talk movies, We also talk about the Taylan May debacle, 70's bush is also on the agenda, We discuss the Gal vs SBW fight finally happening, We have our usual Just why segment along with what grinds our gears and plenty of other random topics to keep everyone entertained.

I Halina Konopacka, złota medalistka w rzucie dyskiem w roku 1928, przetarła kobietom drogę do uprawiania sportu. Młode dziewczyny, zapatrzone w mistrzynie zaczęły ćwiczyć i zdobywać medale.
To przydomek artystyczny malarza włoskiego epoki manieryzmu, którego też możemy nazywać Girolamo Francesco Maria Mazzola.

It wasn't to be. After a memorable campaign which featuted 21 wins and 67 goals, Derby County fall just short in their League One promotion quest as the Rams drop to 7th on the last day of the season. A disappointed Chris and Blake are joined by Hilary Leam (Chair of RamsTrust) in assessing what went wrong at Hillsborough, and how the final day defeat was symbolic of the whole season. The SBW panel also discuss the future of the club, which Rams we'd be most disappointed to leave in the summer, and our overall favourite memories from 2022/23.
- We properly wrap up our Stop Calling Me Strong Series with an always timely conversation about self-care and pleasure. In episode S3 E9, I sat down with Certified Erotic Blueprint Pleasure & Intimacy Coach, Tosh Patterson. Tosh, who teaches women how to simplify life so they can reignite their sensual/sexual self, shares how the strong black woman syndrome led to bouts of anxiety and drove her into a deep depression. Because her family and friends had held her in such high regard, she struggled in secrecy and silence. Tosh shares how she broke free and together we unpack: What causes the strong black woman (SBW) to stop hearing her own voice What keeps SBW from asking for support and receiving it when offered What it takes to become a woman who confidently asks for what she needs and wants What the SBW is encouraged to do even when she's falling apart The link between setting better boundaries and vulnerability How perfectionism keeps the SBW bound The impact of Black Excellence, i.e., striving for material success—cars, houses, clothes, degrees—on the lives of black women What the SBW does that undermines intimacy in her most cherished relationships What are self-care and pleasure and why it matters so much How to build the prioritizing self-care and pleasure muscle What it takes to heal the SBW Syndrome To work with Tosh on retreat or through 1:1 coaching, email her. Tosh co-authored The Path to Pleasure: A Black Woman's Guide to Healing Her Inner Goddess, Igniting Her Spirit, & Awakening Her Pleasure - Available on Amazon. Need a Retreat? Are you a strong black woman? Do you feel free? In episode S3 E7 of the Stop Calling Me Strong series, I talk with therapist turned Life Coach, Diane Jones, who lives in Mexico where she is happily designing a 'soft life' for herself. In this juicy conversation full of gems, Diane, who says she too was once plagued by the strong black woman syndrome, shares how hitting a wall in her profession changed the trajectory of her practice and personal life. We talked about so much, including: how, like the typical strong black woman, she allowed unaddressed anxieties to pile up why the strong black woman rarely makes choices based on what she needs and desires how, when making major shifts, the SBW ought to move why strong black women get no reciprocity what SBW aren't allowed to say out loud what typically is the root cause of SBW's emotional eating why strong black women are bound and how SBW can break free! Our Stop Calling Me Strong series continues with Speaker, Teacher, Advocate, and certified Life Coach, Jacqueline Lofton, once upon a time the quintessential strong black woman. Jacqueline took care of everybody and everything at home and at work and did so seemingly flawlessly. That is, everybody got her care but her. In S3 E6, Jacqueline talks about having a breakdown in 2017, which had her asking.. What about ME? When can I be vulnerable? When can I depend on other people to take care of ME? When does somebody care about ME? She shares what happened that turned her breakdown into a breakthrough. We explore: What's often at the root of the strong black woman's drive to give and do too much How and why black parents crush their children's dreams. The role that Black Excellence plays in strong black women's lives We wrap up our conversation with ways the SBW can get off the hamster wheel of "I'm not enough" and "I got something to prove." A second damaging away defeat to a playoff rival leaves Chris, Richard, Blake and Tom contemplating Derby's promotion credentials, as a shambolic afternoon in South Yorkshire sees the Rams beaten 4-1 by Barnsley. The SBW panel assess what exactly went wrong at Oakwell, whether changes will be made for Derby's next fixtures, and how much the bruising loss has affected our playoff hopes. There's also discussion on the Rams' new Head of Recruitment, Mark Thomas, as we analyse the best players he recruited in his previous role at Oxford and ask how his appointment fits into David Clowes' long term strategy for Derby County.
Don't be sad it's over, just be glad it happened. Derby's unbeaten league run stretching back to October finally ends, as the Rams are edged out in a five-goal thriller by Wycombe Wanderers. Richard and Blake are joined by the Derby Telegraph's Leigh Curtis to assess how Warne's side were seemingly outfought by a managerial 'masterclass' in Buckinghamshire, as automatic promotion hopes are dealt a blow. The SBW panel also discuss why the Rams seemingly score so few from set pieces, and ask if we'll ever see Krsytian Bielik ever wear the black and white again, following his goalscoring exploits for loan club Birmingham City this weekend. In a year unlikely to ever be repeated for the Rams, there were plenty of highs and desperate lows, as the club's very existence came into question before eventual salvation. Chris, Tom and Richard look back on the last 12 months and pick out our favourite on-field moments, before assessing Paul Warne's three months in charge so far, and lamenting the departure of the players we miss most. There's also a round-up of the most significant moments from Derby's year, as told by us on the podcast, and a look forward to 2023 - with some bold predictions - as the Rams rebuild continues. Announcements Phone Zap for Shinewhite BACKGROUND: Joseph “Shine White” Stewart is a long-time incarcerated writer and organizer who is known, among other things, for promoting interracial unity among black and white prisoners in North Carolina as a way to forward their shared resistance against the prison industrial complex and for encouraging abolitionists on the outside to center prisoners' demands and resistance in their work. He has most recently been central to prisoners' organizing efforts to combat racist CO brutality at Alexander Correctional Institution and the extended lockdown at Bertie Correctional Institution. As one might imagine, he is no stranger to political repression, and he has been repeatedly transferred, held in solitary confinement for years at a time, and physically brutalized as the system has attempted to silence him. On November 3, in response to his most recent organizing, Shine White was transferred to Granville Correctional Institution in Butner, NC, where he was placed in restrictive housing. When he arrived, he was placed in a filthy, unsanitary cell which staff refused to allow him to clean and denied access to his property, including legal paperwork related to pending motions in a lawsuit his is pursuing which he was therefore unable to put in the mail on time. Staff have even restricted his access to paper. As of his last contact with Solidarity Beyond the Walls, Shine White is still being housed in unsanitary conditions and still does not have his property. He has requested that SBW support him by organizing a phone zap on his behalf. NCDPS Division of Prisons Central Region Director Loris Sutton 919-582-6125 (direct office line) OR 919-803-0713 (cell phone) OR 919-838-4053 (Central Region main office line); Standard and Performance Director Cynthia Thornton 919-838-4000 (Division of prisons main office line) Remember that repeat calls are welcome, as the more calls come in, the more likely it is that our demands on Shine White's behalf will be met. WHAT TO SAY: Here is a script you can use if you aren't sure what to say when you call:“Hello. I am calling on behalf of Joseph Stewart, OPUS number 0802041. When he was transferred to Granville CI on November 3, Mr. Stewart was placed in restrictive housing in unsanitary conditions and denied his property, including legal paperwork that needed to be put in the mail no later than November 4. Both of these are violations of NCDPS policy and procedure. I am calling to demand that Mr. Stewart be released from restrictive housing, be placed in a clean cell with access to supplies to keep it that way, and that all of his property be returned immediately.” Support Colombian Uprising Prisoners There is still repression being felt by those swept up by the state during the 2021 National Strike in Cali, Colombia and there's a fundraising effort for the Paso del Aguante 6 who are facing up to 50 years in prison for participating in the strike. These are alongside shorter versions of our recent chats on heaters in Albuquerque, updates on Eric King and Oso Blanco's situations and the struggle against Camp Grayling. Here we go again...! Just 12 games into the season, and the Rams are welcoming their 11th new manager in nine years, as Paul Warne leaves Rotherham United to take over at Pride Park. Chris and Richard are joined by Ollie Wright (Derby County Blog) to assess the credentials of the new gaffer, and discuss what's next for the demoted Liam Rosenior. How will Derby cope with the contrast in playing styles going from possession, passing football to Warne's more direct approach? How much do we really know about the Rams' new boss? And when on earth will we score a goal away from home? There's plenty to discuss in SBW 139. REVIEW! This was my Debut on the world's biggest touring Soca festival DJ Private Ryan's SOCA BRAINWASH! I DJd the opening set and ended up hosting for The Incredible DJ Shy Later in the day. I blended some of the more current Soca, dropped some special edits I have and experimented with some new songs I really like that I feel are overlooked. This set started the vibes at the first Soca Brainwash of 2022 in the world which just so happened to be in my city Toronto! Fun fact, by the end of my set, not many people had come inside yet, but one of the main organizers on Team Epic Events who helped put on SBW came up to me later in the day and told me that was a wicked warm up set. Just when you think nobody is listening.... Anyways, this was a life changing moment for me and I wanted to make sure to hit record to share this moment with you all. Enjoy and let me know what you think in the comments below!

We fought to the end... but it wasn't enough. As Derby's relegation to League One is confirmed, Richard and Tom tell Chris about the emotional scenes from the away end at QPR on Easter Monday, as we look forward to a (hopefully) brighter future. Will Wayne Rooney stay for the long-term Rams 'project'? We assess how Derby's manager has changed in tone, confidence and appearance since first signing as a player in August 2019. From 'Rooney the marquee signing' to 'Rooney the firefighter', will Wayne fancy the challenge of rebuilding in League One? There's also your Five Word Reviews on Derby facing third tier football... along with some not-at-all patronising trivia about some League One grounds we'll be visiting in 2022/23. The “Strong Black Woman” mantra is so embraced by our culture that it is seldom realized just how great of a toll it's taken on the emotional well-being of black and African American women. As much as it may give us the illusion of control, strength and resilience, which can be positive and has served us well to a degree; it is also linked to adverse mental and physical health outcomes such as anxiety, depression and cardiovascular disease. In part 2 of this series, we discuss how and why the SBW concept was created and how it's impacting our overall well-being.
In this episode we discuss how the SBW concept may keep us from identifying what we need and reaching out for help, and for that matter even believing that we deserve to do so.
