Tragedy unfolded on April 19, 1995, when a massive bomb exploded in America's Heartland, killing 168 people, including 15 children in their daycare center.Thirty years later, it still stands as America's deadliest domestic terror attack.History says the Oklahoma City bombing was a lone-wolf terror by Timothy McVeigh, a twenty-six-year-old Gulf War Army veteran.Yet the FBI never captured the second suspect who rode next to McVeigh in the bomb truck. Soon the Bureau canceled its global manhunt for “John Doe 2,” claiming twenty-four eyewitnesses who saw him with McVeigh were mistaken. None of this rings true to award-winning journalist Margaret Roberts. As former news director of America's Most Wanted, she worked high-profile manhunts alongside the FBI. How could so many witnesses be wrong?Blowback chronicles Roberts's investigation into a baffling prison murder mystery wrapped inside the Oklahoma City bombing case. In pursuit of answers, she conducts journalism's only face-to-face prison interviews with McVeigh co-conspirator Terry Nichols.Contrary to the official story of lone-wolf terror, Roberts uncovers evidence of a sprawling neo-Nazi plot behind the bombing in which the FBI played a hidden role. Then, while covering its tracks, the FBI allowed terror suspects to walk free, denied the bombing victims justice, and hid the truth from all of us.After an FBI whistleblower steps forward, Roberts puts the puzzle together, though one burning mystery remains: The FBI has kept surveillance videotape of McVeigh's accomplice locked away all these years. Is John Doe 2 the FBl's guilty secret?BookBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.

Today's podcast tackles a difficult and timely story from Minnesota through two very different lenses.A veteran firearms and use-of-force trainer weighs in on the recent shooting, focusing on tactics, decision-making, and what often gets missed in early reporting. Maureen Comey, a federal prosecutor and daughter of former FBI Director James Comey, was recently removed from her position following a series of high-profile prosecutorial failures, most notably her handling of the Sean “Diddy” Combs case and the ongoing fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein investigation. In the Diddy case, despite mounting public allegations, corroborating testimony, and a sprawling federal investigation, Comey failed to secure a conviction on key charges—prompting criticism from within the DOJ and from the public, who viewed it as yet another instance of the wealthy and powerful skirting justice. Her role in the Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell matters had already drawn skepticism, particularly over the slow pace of disclosures and missing evidence. Combined, these failures painted a picture of a prosecutor either unwilling or unable to push cases against elite defendants across the finish line.Comey's dismissal is being viewed by many as symbolic of a broader institutional failure. For years, she was positioned as a central figure in prosecutions that promised accountability for Epstein's network of enablers, yet few meaningful outcomes followed. The fact that she is now gone—without fanfare, without accountability, and without explanation—only fuels suspicions that her presence was more about containment than prosecution. Her firing doesn't feel like justice—it feels like an after-the-fact cleanup, a quiet reshuffling meant to relieve pressure while continuing to protect the same circles that have evaded consequences all along.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:DOJ fires Maurene Comey, daughter of James Comey and a prosecutor in Sean Combs' and Ghislaine Maxwell's casesBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-moscow-murders-and-more--5852883/support.

Mark Kelly and other former military and intelligence community members now in Congress posted a video calling on active service members to refuse illegal orders. This happened while the Trump administration contines to strike alleged “drug boats” in the Caribbean and the Pacific. At the same time, a former Afghan child soldier shot two members of the West Virginia National Guard at a metro station in Washington DC. The shooter had been part of a “Zero Unit”, an Afghan death squad, that was backed by the Central Intelligence Agency. These incidents show the tension building between military-civilian-intelligence agency relations. In our latest, we dive deep into the conflict between Senator Mark Kelly and the Trump administration. We also discuss Hegseth's war on the Pentagon and how war crimes against people off the coasts of Venezuela and Colombia. And then we get into the background of the DC shooter and the blowback created by CIA backed militias in Afghanistan. Please listen in to this important discussion about U.S. military-civilian relations. -----------------------------------------
“Real life conspiracies pose a certain challenge for political analysis,” wrote Jewish Currents contributors Noah Kulwin and Ari Brostoff in their 2019 piece on Jeffrey Epstein, the child sex trafficker, financier, and international rainmaker. As recently reported in a series of articles at Drop Site News, Epstein had close ties to the Israeli intelligence community, and frequently brokered meetings for former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, including meetings that resulted in the establishment of security ties with Mongolia and the sale of mass surveillance infrastructure to Cote d'Ivoire's authoritarian government. What do these revelations tell us about the flows of power and money across the billionaire class? And what do we do with the extent to which Epstein's story reads like an antisemitic conspiracy come to life? To explore these questions, Jewish Currents editor-in-chief Arielle Angel spoke with Kulwin, a co-host of Blowback, a podcast about US empire and interventionism, and Ryan Grim, co-founder of Drop Site News and the co-author of multiple recent reports about Epstein. Thanks to Jesse Brenneman for producing and to Nathan Salsburg for the use of his song “VIII (All That Were Calculated Have Passed).”Articles and Media Mentioned and Further ReadingDrop Site reporting on “Epstein and Israel” by Ryan Grim and Murtaza Hussein“The Right Kind of Continuity,” Ari Brostoff and Noah Kulwin, Jewish Currents“The worst thing about Davos? Alex Murdaugh's murder conviction was supposed to be the end of the story — but now the outcome of his trial is under review at the South Carolina Supreme Court, and the spotlight isn't just on the evidence… it's on the courthouse itself. In today's Hidden Killers episode, Tony Brueski and former prosecutor/defense attorney Eric Faddis tackle the most explosive element of the appeal: allegations that Clerk of Court Becky Hill may have influenced the jury, urged a quick verdict, commented on Murdaugh's body language, and then wrote a book she financially benefited from. One juror claims Hill whispered, “Watch him… don't be fooled.” The state says it doesn't matter. The defense says it absolutely does. Tony and Eric take listeners inside the legal and psychological weight of jury influence: What happens when a court official speaks to a juror about the defendant? Can a juror truly “un-hear” a remark from someone in authority? And how should the justices interpret Hill's later criminal charges — irrelevant noise, or evidence of a compromised system? The episode also digs into the evidence battle the appeal now centers on. Was this a murder trial supported by overwhelming proof — or a character trial overloaded with financial-crime testimony unrelated to the shootings? Were missing DNA tests, uncollected fingerprints, and absent gunshot residue analysis harmless mistakes… or constitutional failures? And when the public already picked a side long before the verdict, how much pressure do the justices feel to either protect the system's credibility or correct its mistakes? This appeal isn't just about Alex Murdaugh's freedom. It's about whether the justice system can still be trusted to police itself — or whether the courtroom became a stage where fairness took a back seat to outcome. #AlexMurdaugh #BeckyHill #TrueCrimePodcast #HiddenKillers #TonyBrueski #MurdaughAppeal #JusticeSystem #CourtIntegrity #EricFaddis #CrimeDiscussion Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? To commemorate Dick Cheney's death, we have remastered philosopher Stefan Molyneux's 2013 presentation on the War in Iraq. He critically analyzes the Iraq War on its 10th anniversary, revealing the staggering human cost with approximately 1.5 million Iraqi casualties and the devastating impact of sanctions. Stefan examines the propaganda of weapons of mass destruction, mental health issues faced by U.S. veterans, and the economic corruption linked to wartime contracts. The discussion also highlights the environmental destruction caused by military actions and its effect on local perceptions of U.S. presence. He concludes by urging listeners to confront the harsh truths of war and our shared responsibilities.Sources: https://fdrurl.com/hellSUBSCRIBE TO ME ON X! https://x.com/StefanMolyneuxFollow me on Youtube! https://www.youtube.com/@freedomain1GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

On September 5, 2018, an anonymous Op Ed appeared in the New York Times entitled I am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration. Obviously that caused a stir, followed by the publication of a book by the same author called A Warning. Someone was yelling from the inside: Get away from this man as fast as you can. You get the drift. Ultimately the Anonymous author revealed himself to be Miles Taylor, a former chief of staff at the US. Department of Homeland Security. Having worked in the Bush administration as well, Taylor knew how things were supposed to work in the White House - and how they were not supposed to work. He followed up A Warning with another bestseller, Blowback, in which he described what would happen in a worst case scenario during a second Trump term. Most of them have already occurred. In today's interview, Taylor told me it's now “time to engage in some radical thinking.” He said we need a massive movement of non-violent resistance unlike anything America has ever seen. I've admired Taylor's writing, his courage, and his continued call to the American people to wake up before it's too late. If Paul Revere were alive today, he'd be called Miles Taylor. Outrage isn't new, but the way it plays out in 2025 feels like a full-time industry. This week, it's Phillies fans brawling over a foul ball, a CEO swiping a signed hat at the US Open, Bruce Willis' family facing judgment in a Diane Sawyer interview, and American Eagle cashing in on controversy with its headline-grabbing campaign. Here's the problem: every headline slaps the same word on these stories—backlash. But backlash and blowback aren't the same thing. If you don't know the difference, you're missing the real story. In this episode, I break down:The Phillies “Ball Snatch” dad who turned a viral mess into a lesson in staying calm. The US Open “Hat Grab” CEO who folded fast—and why it saved his business.Bruce Willis' family's media strategy, turning online judgment into strategic storytelling.American Eagle's outrage marketing proves that some brands script backlash into their budget. Why the age of the public apology is over—and what leaders are doing instead. The September takeaway? Backlash reveals character. Blowback reveals strategy. And knowing which one you're seeing could be the difference between chaos and control.Want More Behind the Breakdown? The definition of “blowback” is the negative repercussions affecting a country whose government has undertaken a usually clandestine intelligence operation in a foreign country. The situation in Gaza is the embodiment of this concept, and the focal point of the world's attention right now. Is the trigger for World War Three being slowly squeezed by the psychopaths in Washington DC & Tel Aviv? How will the mutual defense agreements of regional powers impact the size and scope of this potential war? The entanglements in the Middle East are strangely reminiscent of the leadup to the First World War, which will not come as much comfort to those paying attention. Financial blowback hits just as hard, maybe even harder. Was COVID not a clandestine intelligence operation? The amount of dollars created during the plandemic was staggering, even by psychopathic central banker standards. Trump health rumors, media scrutiny, and what counts as news kick off the show before a wide-ranging interview with Miles Taylor—former DHS Chief of Staff and author of Blowback—about the April 2025 White House memo labeling him “treasonous,” the threats that followed, alleged blacklisting, and how executive power can be bent to punish speech. We discuss investigations vs. “fishing expeditions,” loyalty scorecards for companies, and why institutions cave—or don't. In the spiel, Mike reframes the immigration fight: policy trade-offs, public opinion, and what data actually say about enforcement. Plus, a critique of a viral CNN segment on a deportation case and how storytelling choices shape perceptions. *Please Note that Mike is on assignment, which is why his audio is not ideal* Come See Mike Pesca at Open Debate Produced by Corey Wara Production Coordinator Ashley Khan Email us at thegist@mikepesca.com To advertise on the show, contact ad-sales@libsyn.com or visit https://advertising.libsyn.com/TheGist Subscribe to The Gist: https://subscribe.mikepesca.com/ Subscribe to The Gist Youtube Page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4_bh0wHgk2YfpKf4rg40_g Subscribe to The Gist Instagram Page: GIST INSTAGRAM Follow The Gist List at: Pesca Profundities | Mike Pesca | Substack
Mike revisits an old worry: Trump's policies are built for payoffs far beyond his term—and that's a problem for a man who won't share credit. From tariffs to civil service purges, the risks linger. To set the stage, we go back to a 2018 interview with Miles Taylor, once “Anonymous,” whose warnings still resonate as he returns with his new book Blowback. Newt talks with Margaret Roberts about her new book, “Blowback: The Untold Story of the FBI and the Oklahoma City Bombing.” Roberts who is the former news director of America's Most Wanted, reexamines the Oklahoma City bombing, challenging the lone wolf terrorism narrative with evidence suggesting a neo-Nazi plot and FBI involvement. Roberts reveals her investigative journey, including exclusive interviews with co-conspirator Terry Nichols, who alleges Timothy McVeigh was an undercover federal operative. Her book explores the FBI’s PATCON program, suggesting the bombing was a sting operation gone wrong. Roberts calls for transparency and the release of FBI documents to uncover the truth.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
What if everything Americans knew about the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing was wrong? On this episode of "The Federalist Radio Hour," Margaret Roberts, an award-winning journalist and former news director of America's Most Wanted, joins Federalist Senior Elections Correspondent Matt Kittle to explain how the FBI not only failed to prevent the OKC attack, but also covered up key evidence suggesting suspect Timothy McVeigh did not act alone. You can find Roberts' book Blowback: The Untold Story of the FBI and the Oklahoma City Bombing here.If you care about combating the corrupt media that continue to inflict devastating damage, please give a gift to help The Federalist do the real journalism America needs.
Anson Mount (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, Hell on Wheels) joins us this week for a grounded and honest conversation about fatherhood, patience, and finding perspective. Anson talks a lot about Strange New Worlds… getting into the responsibility he feels playing Captain Pike and the surprising fan backlash against casting in the series. We also talk about advice for new dads, embracing the moment instead of chasing the outcome, and whether or not he'd want his kids to go into acting. Thank you to our sponsors:
