Support the show: https://krant.nlSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy fought for a tough 1-1 draw with the Seattle Sounders on Sunday night. And while they didn't walk away with three points, they did open up a bunch of doors into what this team could be in 2018. Your hosts Josh Guesman and Kevin Baxter are giving you some insight into the result for the Galaxy and what it could mean for the rest of the season. Plus the guys will also get off the rails on VAR, and some Galaxy history you won't want to miss. First, the guys will give you their first impressions from Sunday night. Did Gyasi Zardes do enough to get back in the good graces of the fans? Did Romain Alessandrini and Jonathan dos Santos deserve their addition to the MLS Team of the Week? And did Jermaine Jones have his best performance in a Galaxy kit? They'll discuss it all in an attempt to give you the best understanding of why that draw felt like a loss and why Josh thinks it should actually feel like a win. Next Kevin will get you clued in on some Galaxy history. Ever wonder why Nigel De Jong left the Galaxy? Or why Steven Gerrard was brought into the team? Or maybe what the people think of Giovani dos Santos. Kevin has some interesting rumors that you're not going to want to miss and that may shape the way you look at this team and next years' team. And Josh will give you the latest on the injury to Jon Kempin and when you can expect him back. Finally, the guys get to your calls and questions. Ensuring that you're 100 percent updated on your favorite team. Only seven games remaining. We're glad we could be here to get you through to the end! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy are still in winter hibernation mode, but your hosts Josh Guesman and Wendy Thomas are not. The First show fo the new year has lots to cover. And even inactivity is a reason for some serious contemplation. But to help us kick off a brand new 2017, the show is lucky enough to be joined by former LA Galaxy Associate Head Coach, Dave Sarachan to talk about his departure from the club and where he's landed with the US Men's National Team. But first, your hosts are going to discuss the retirement of 14-year league veteran, Mike Magee. I mean we all have great stories when it comes to Mike Magee, but what did he really mean to the LA Galaxy? And why did Josh have to apologize to him in front of witnesses? Should Mike Magee be listed in the ring of honor next to true LA Galaxy Legends? There are lots of questions to answer when it comes to the his departure and your hosts will discuss it all. Then Dave Sarachan will join Josh to talk about the time he "fought" Steven Lenhart and whether or not he would've taken the job if the LA Galaxy would've offered him the Head Coaching job. And why exactly did Dave leave the team? Finally your hosts reconvene to discuss Jermaine Jones and his high price tag as well as talk about how this team is largely unaffected by all the players that have left the team since November of 2016. Plus Josh will even regail you of some tales of Designated Players and a theory on why Nigel De Jong really left the LA Galaxy. It's a packed show to start 2o17, and we're glad that you could join us! Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy aren't even all the way through August yet, but they're wishing it never happened. With an 0-2-4 record the team finishes winless in the month and sees key players go down injured. Not to mention that the style of play and the results were hard to watch for any fan. On today's show your hosts Josh Guesman and LA Galaxy Insider, Adam Serrano are joined by Sports Writer for the OC Register and the Southern California News Group, Damian Calhoun. Damian will give his impressions of the August he witnessed as they all try an parse out what the major issue was and what can be done to fix it. They'll talk about key players not living up to the their billing. What have Giovani dos Santos, Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane done for the team this year? And why haven't the key talents on this team stepped up? The LA Galaxy have Ashley Cole, Nigel De Jong (for now), Mike Magee and more veteran players that haven't stepped up to stop the bleeding. With only 8 Games left the guys will discuss if there is any way of salvaging momentum going into the playoffs. Especially considering that it looks like three key players of the Galaxy are now out for some period of time (Jelle Van Damme, Steven Gerrard, Gyasi Zardes). It's been a horrible month and everyone is just looking for some perspective. Hopefully this show will key you into the major issues the LA Galaxy have and the mountain they are going to have to scale in order to arrive in the playoffs at all. First things first: if you understand how Cricket is scored please contact us immediately. IN THE MEANTIME, America has a piping hot roster fresh for judgement, Nigel De Jong may be a small part of a much larger conspiracy, and Alex Kibler was actually right about something. It's shocking, really. Dogs and cats living together kind of stuff. Wait a second...Alex has a dog and cat living together. CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy look to be dealing Nigel De Jong to Galatasaray in Turkey. The LA Time's Kevin Baxter joins host Josh Guesman to talk about all of the updates regarding this move as well as speculate on what it could mean for the LA Galaxy. This is not a simple move and it's not one-hundred percent done. But it does make sense on multiple fronts. Could the LA Galaxy be dealing De Jong in an attempt to keep him from becoming a Designated Player? Are the LA Galaxy looking for flexibility? Perhaps its just a matter of De Jong looking to get back to the Dutch National team and he sees this as a way to get it done. And in surprising fashion, the LA Galaxy actually have played better in games that Nigel De Jong has missed. But what does that mean? Regardless of the reasons this podcast will examine the deal, examine all the details of what is known and Josh and Kevin Baxter will do their best to put this move in perspective. Does this mean the end to an unlikely MLS Cup? After all, there are only 8 games remaining in 2016. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA - Steven Gerrard had a lot to say after the LA Galaxy's 1-0 victory over the Houston Dynamo on Friday night. And why shouldn't he? He scored the game winner in the 66th minute and has generally been one of the key players for this team. But his comments were especially important when you understand what this team and their locker room looked and felt like in 2015. Landon Donovan had just left, Marcelo Sarvas was gone, and two player, Steven Gerrard and Giovani dos Santos were struggling to adapt to their new team as everyone else was struggling to adapt to them. On this show your hosts Josh Guesman and LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano are joined by Four Four Two USA's Scott French (@ScottJFrench). Together they'll discuss the comments that Gerrard made and try to put them in perspective. What was the locker room like in 2015? How did that differ from the locker room in 2014? And how does that all relate to this year's team in 2016? And with new faces brought in for this team including Nigel De Jong, Ashley Cole, and Jelle Van Damme, did Bruce Arena and the rest of the LA Galaxy go through some dramatic change? Did the Galaxy get tougher but also closer together? Is competition destroying this "coming together?" Or is it fostering the type of atmosphere that breeds championship teams? It's an excellent insight from three of the people who've followed this team the closest during the past three seasons. And it's all about putting you into the locker room so you can understand what kind of work environment these professional athletes inhabit. We can't wait to get started. CoG Studios - Your hosts Josh Guesman and Wendy Thomas are once again ready to help explain all the LA Galaxy happenings to you. They'll first dive into the 2-0 win over Vancouver before getting you ready for the Seattle Sounders on Saturday. In-between they'll definitely get you update on Galaxy news and some issues that are surrounding both the US Open Cup and the Season Ticket Holder event. First Josh & Wendy want to go over the win over the Whitecaps. It's important to note that LA probably got outplayed in this game. But while Vancouver did have some dangerous chances a makeshift backline also kept them off the board. Is this a step in the right direction? Is this LA Galaxy team on the rise? And What did you make of another Nigel De Jong tackle? Was it a red card? Will he get suspended for more games? In LA Galaxy news the team announced they'd be playing their July 20th US Open Cup game against the Seattle Sounders at the Track & Field Stadium. How do you feel about this? Does the ticketing and pricing make sense? And what about the Season Ticket Holder Event? The LA Galaxy announced a new format twist this year and your hosts will be there to give you their initial thoughts on the change. Will it work? Are you going? Finally it's time to get ready for the LA Galaxy's Western Conference matchup with Seattle on Saturday. Sure the Galaxy will see them three times in July, but the first one could be the most important. It looks like both teams will be back at full strength which means you should see Clint Dempsey and Jordan Morris take on the entire LA Galaxy team. And in case you though this game isn't that important, you should probably hear what Mike Magee had to say. It's a packed show and we're glad you could join us. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA - The guys are back to discuss a whole range of LA Galaxy topics. it's a "grab bag" of discussions covering a bunch of different players and a bunch of different situations. Joining your hosts Josh Guesman and Adam Serrano is Orange County Blues play by play announcer and a contributor to MLSSoccer.com, Marc Serber (@SoccerSerber). Marc and the guys will talk about Robbie Keane's future with the LA Galaxy, Steven Gerrard's impact on the field, Gyasi Zardes confidence, Nigel De Jong's red card and much, much more. What did you think of Robbie Keane's performance against Vancouver? Would you extend Keano's contract past this year? Is he still a designated player? Josh, Adam, and Marc will give you their honest opinions on the topics and open the discussion back up to you. How important has Steven Gerrard been to the LA Galaxy in 2016? Does he still have time to "save face" in Los Angeles? Could his legacy include an MLS Cup? And what about Gyasi Zardes? Has he grown up right in front of our eyes? Does his confidence have him eyeing Europe? And how soon before he could potentially go? And with all the controversy surrounding every Nigel De Jong tackle, would you still sign him to a Designated Player Contract? Do you even want him on your team? It's a show packed with opinions and insight into the LA Galaxy. We're glad you joined us and we hope you'll come back to see us again real soon. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

CoG Studios, CA - The LA Galaxy fell far short of completing a difficult road match against Toronto over the weekend. Sure they were missing several key players due to injuries and international absences, but is that an excuses for the anemic offense? Your hosts Josh Guesman and, LA Galaxy Insider, Adam Serrano take a look at the 1-0 loss and try to figure out where the Galaxy went wrong. Even with talent missing it's not a stretch of the imagination to say this team is ridiculously talented. They've got players like Ashley Cole, Nigel De Jong, Jelle Van Damme and Sebastian Lletget. So why can't this offense get started. And with the injuries to Steven Gerrard, Giovani dos Santos and Robbie Rogers was it likely that Bruce Arena is playing it safe with a heavily congested schedule on the horizon? The guys will talk about the number of games that are upcoming and why it's so important this LA Galaxy team finds a way to win without all their stars. It's time someone steps up for this team. Who's it going to be? Finally, Josh and Adam talk about the Wednesday night matchup with Colorado. It's "Pride Night" and there are plenty of awesome offers that can see you at the game with only $20 invested. You can also get an awesome scarf and donate to a worthy cause. Visit the LA Galaxy's website for more information (www.lagalaxy.com/pride). But the Colorado Rapids are the best team in Major League Soccer this year. And they continued they're winning ways against Chicago last weekend, even without some of their key pieces. Our hosts tell you why this game is so important and point out some of the key players that might figure in this game. It's a short show for a short week, but we'll be doing this all again on Thursday as the Galaxy prepare for a California Clasico.

CoG Studios - It was probably the worst soccer game anyone has had to sit through. It was 94 minutes of poor quality and lackluster effort by both teams that resulted in a predictable 0-0 draw. So the only logical thing to do is to figure out why the LA Galaxy's offense struggled so mightily to create chances and shots. Joining us, once again, is Thuc Nhi Nguyen (@ThucNhi21) a UCLA Football and Soccer writer for the LA Daily News. Together, Josh and Thuc Nhi give you the scoop on why they think the Galaxy were so uncreative on the night. Was it because the strikers just simply weren't good enough and weren't creating the chances? Or can you point firmly at the midfield? The midfield really is a whole different issue. With Steven Gerrard injured, Bruce Arena chose to play a creative play like Sebastian Lletget, along side 3 defensive midfielders. Sure Baggio Husidic played out wide, but there's no arguing that Husidic, Jeff Larentowicz, and Nigel De Jong are defensively minded players. And because of that, one might assume that you'll be more... defensive. Your hosts will breakdown the issues at midfield and also talk about the defense and why it may've also played an important part in the LA Galaxy's disappointing draw. Finally, did the upcoming break play any part of this lackluster game? Were the Galaxy already on vacation? It's all right here on Corner of the Galaxy: From the box. Where we take you into the press box so you can hear the discussions that happen during a game. Music Provided By Back Pocket Memory

Leicester City is closing in on its historical title, so who better to marvel at what the Foxes have been able to do this season than Leicester native and NBC Sports Network lead soccer announcer Arlo White? White joins the Planet Fútbol Podcast to paint a picture of Leicester the city and put the magnitude of what Claudio Ranieri's club has done thus far–and is aiming to finish off–into proper perspective. He also warns against celebrating too soon, though, with Tottenham still alive in the title race. There's also the matter of some of the other major stories elsewhere in world soccer: Barcelona's ouster from the Champions League at the hands of Atletico Madrid; Cristiano Ronaldo's heroics for Real Madrid; Nigel De Jong's tackle on Darlington Nagbe; the 2016 Olympic soccer tournaments. On this special Short Corner episode Josh Guesman sits down with LA Galaxy midfielder Nigel De Jong. Carson, CA - It's not everyday that Corner of the Galaxy gets to sit down with a player as accomplished as Nigel De Jong. If you say his name you're going to get a lot of opinions. They'll talk about being him being a "Dirty Player" and they'll say that he's too aggressive. They'll probably consider him some dumb footballer who enjoys beating kids up for their candy. However, despite his reputation, we've only known him as a man who's kind, thoughtful and loves to play the game. Josh Guesman sat down with Nigel De Jong somewhere deep within the labyrinth of halls underneath StubHub center for a one on one chat. We'll ask questions that look at his motives for coming to Los Angeles, why he always wanted to end his career in Major League Soccer and what he thinks of the travel and the refereeing inside of the league. We'll also cover topics including the knowledge base American soccer has and how far behind Europe he sees the team and League. Finally we'll also talk about Nigel's future with the LA Galaxy and what he wants to do as player for the LA Galaxy. It's a brief look into a tiny window on a man who is probably misunderstood and who could end up being a real super star for the LA Galaxy. TRAINING OBSERVATIONS AND INJURY UPDATE: Outside of Jose Villarreal who played 90 minutes for LA Galaxy II in their 1-1 draw, everyone was at training this morning. Josh will get updated on the players who are still hurt and why it could be time for Giovani dos Santos to make his return to the field against Portland. Lot's of notes from training as well. This team is having fun on and off the field and that could bode well for them down the line. It's a packed informational show with a great guest! Special thanks to Brendan Hannan, Chris Glidden and the rest of the LA Galaxy PR team for setting up the interview. And special thanks to Nigel De Jong for taking time out of his day to have a chat. LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano talks about what we learned from the preseason matchup with San Jose in Las Vegas and if this team is CCL ready. It's the dawn of a new soccer season and Corner of the Galaxy: From the Box is finally back from it's winter hibernation. LA Galaxy Insider Adam Serrano rejoins the show and your hosts dive into what was learned from the LA's 1-0 win over San Jose in Las Vegas. The guys talk about Nigel De Jong's LA Galaxy debut. As well as what Jelle Van Damme can do better and how Robbie Rogers and Giovani dos Santos are combining on the right flank. And while fitness is probably the biggest issue, Josh and Adam will also talk about what the LA Galaxy need to to advance over Santos Laguna. If the Galaxy are looking to hang their hat on defense they might want to take a page out of their previous CCL tournament's playbook. LA has to win this game at home. And they have to build a lead before going down to Mexico for the return leg. Can they do it? How will there depth help? Are Boateng and Lletget locked in the most competitive battle for a starting position? And how will Bruce Arena approach this game? All of those questions are asked and answered on our very first 'From the Box' of 2016. Thanks for joining us and we can't wait for this season to finally start. Music Provided by Back Pocket Memory

So many questions it's hard to get to all of them. Josh and Wendy will play some post game audio from Bruce Arena, Ashley Cole, and Jelle Van Damme and give you an insight into the locker room Bruce has created in the offseason and what that means could mean going forward. The transfer window exploded on Monday and the guys break it all down. Andrew is on the injured reserve list, so David and Matt carry the load. What were their takeaways from U.S. Soccer’s rainy victory vs. Iceland? It starts with the new and improved Jozy Altidore, but there is plenty more to unpack. Plus, what to make of the Krisztian Nemeth transfer, an ever-evolving LA Galaxy squad that now reportedly features Nigel De Jong, and two new Designated Player signings in their prime. Of course, the guys wouldn’t pass up the chance to chat with Red Bulls sporting director Ali Curtis, who discusses Matt Miazga’s move to Chelsea and the big picture as it pertains to MLS. How will the Miazga transfer money be used? How is TAM affecting the league? Plus, how might the sale of young prospects affect the talent pool as a whole? In the mailbag, the guys assemble MLS 4-v-4 squads, name Dom Leroux's (or Sydney Dwyer's) future World Cup winner, and shine a spotlight on US and Borussia Dortmund phenom Christian Pulisic.
