This week on the @Monday_mile_series, I'm joined by the wonderful @benshephard! Ben has been anchoring morning television for over 20 years, from his early mornings on @gmb to now hosting @thismorning with the lovely Cat Deeley. This week we chat about Ben's incredible challenge #Fitatfifty, from what inspired him, and how he's found the challenge so far. Ben explains that although he's found the physical side of the challenge really rewarding, it's the mental challenge and the community that it's built that his really pushed him to keep going We also discuss his non-negotiables for how to stay fit and how he's always been good at not letting a big night out affect his day. We chat about filming the new show reality show ‘The Summit', what it was like travelling out to New Zealand to film and how it's one of the ‘most exciting things' he's ever done. Welcome back to episode 2 in the new season. It was my huge pleasure to chat to men's stylist & image consultant Phill Tarling recently. Phill styles celebrities such as Ben Shephard, but he also offers image consultancy, styling and wardrobe edits to anyone who wants to be empowered by the clothes they wear. We all know how feeling good about our exterior appearance can engender a sense of confidence within. This applies to men of any age - and as we discuss on the podcast, men in their 40s and beyond don't have to ‘give up' and think that good style is something that has passed them by. In 2021, Kammy received a crushing diagnosis of apraxia of speech, a rare neurological condition which affects the ability to speak fluently. His condition meant he was no longer able to continue in his much loved role at Sky Sports. He is now focused on his recovery, podcasting and campaigning for others in a similar situation to himself.Alongside Chris is his friend and colleague of 12 years plus, Ben Shephard. Ben and Kammy have worked together at Sky Sports as Goals on Sunday co-hosts and in the same capacity for ITV's Ninja Warrior UK series. Ben has been a familiar face on breakfast television for over 20 years and regularly co-hosts Good Morning Britain on ITV with his good friends Kate Garraway and Susanna Reid. His production company Triple Brew Media has made, “Lost for Words”, a documentary which tells Kammy's story and helps to explain the issues around apraxia of speech.Together, they talk about Kammy's struggles in coming to terms with his condition, how he wakes every day not knowing if he'll be able to speak and of course, there's some football banter about Ronaldo. Carnival Splendor will soon visit the Fiji Islands, with stops in Suva and Port Denarau.Arriving in Sydney on Sept. 30, Carnival Splendor will be the first Carnival ship returning to guest operations in Australian waters in nearly 1,000 days. Argent Energy, GoodFuels and Twelve are collaborating with the cruise line to further advance Virgin Voyages' commitment of reaching net zero by 2050.Following months of detailed research, Virgin Voyages has taken an important step to advancing a low-carbon future by establishing key partnerships and building a portfolio approach to sustainable marine fuel (SMF) supply. Recognizing there is currently no one-size-fits-all, low-carbon fuel solution, Virgin Voyages will enter into long-term agreements for sustainable marine fuels with these providers, which includes plans to add others over time.Adopting drop-in sustainable fuels, such as those made from abundant, problematic waste or direct air capture of CO2, is paramount for reducing emissions and reaching net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Virgin Voyages estimates that by switching to sustainable marine fuels, the line will reduce its life-cycle carbon emissions from fuel by 75% or more.Fred. This week on Monday Mile I head to West London and the beautiful open space at Richmond Park, to meet Ben Shephard. We chat all things work, the importance of fitness in his life and how he manages to find the best version of himself not only when on our TV screens, but also when spending precious time at home with his family. He's paved his own way from quite literally "dancing in a leotard" to hosting the crowd at the London Olympics in 2012.  Now fronting GMB, hosting Tipping point and of course to where I first met Ben, which was on the set of Ninja Warrior.  What I really enjoyed about this Monday Mile, was learning just what it takes to be at the top of your game in the media space. We as the public get to see Ben working from 6am on GMB, but we don't get to see behind the scenes and the rigorous hours of commitment to his craft. It's inspired me, and I hope it inspires everyone to keep chasing their own dreams. Former Team GB double winter Olympian Aimee Fuller is on a mission to find the secrets for Monday motivation from some of the most successful sports men and women of our time and other well-known celebrities which will drop every week.  Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on?'  Each episode will drop on a Monday morning and plays out in real time. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week.  Dropping every Monday as a bitesize 20/25 minute piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it - sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes' secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits. Head over to IG to watch the visuals of our episode and what we get up to on our Monday Mile. https://www.instagram.com/aimee_fuller/ Filmed + Produced by http://www.tommallion.com

Stand by, everyone! This week's Chris Moyles Show podcast is HOT HOT HOT! Not in the literal sense (if you are feeling a little hot whilst listening, that's probably more to do with your central heating), but audibly… as Producer Dave Masterman blew our tiny little minds by eating the hottest chilli on the planet (he even took two bites, the arrogant so-and-so)! And if that wasn't enough fun and games, here's what else went down… - The loveliest man in rock n roll, GUY GARVEY popped by for a chat - The nicest man in showbiz, BEN SHEPHARD swung by. - PLUS, Chris confuses Bestival with an all-together different event. Enjoy…and then tell a friend, why don't you?? The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X Weekdays 6.30-10am RadioX.co.uk

Andrew Marr discusses how far the brain can change and adapt with the neuroscientist Heidi Johansen-Berg. Decades ago it was thought that the adult brain was immutable but later research has shown that even brains damaged by stroke have the capacity to adapt. The writer Ben Shephard looks back to the turn of the 20th century and the birth of modern neuroscience, while the novelist Charles Fernyhough asks whether knowing more about the way the brain works will have as big an impact as the findings of Darwin and Freud. The clinical psychologist, Mark Williams, is interested in how we can relieve the despair of feeling trapped in our thoughts, and is one of the pioneers of mindfulness-based cognitive therapy.
