Another turbulent weekend of Serie A action as Juventus' poor run continued with a home loss to Atalanta following a Champions League lesson against Chelsea, and, as was requested by a listener... yes, Mina does go on a (very warranted) rant about all of her frustrations regarding her beloved bianconeri. Keeping with the podcast's Australian connection, this week Nicky and Mina are joined by Melbourne-based Digital Journalist for Stats Perform, Sacha Pisani (@Sachk0), to discuss the latest happenings in the land of calcio. Sacha recently wrote an interesting article about the goring popularity of brand Venezia: From bankruptcy to global fashion icon – the rise of Italy's renaissance team Venezia. Other topics in focus this week: Milan fall at home to Sassuolo, who love beating them, with a cracking strike from Gianluca Scamacca. Is he Italy's new hope? Are the wheels falling off the Milan bus coming into Christmas, just as they did around the same time last season? Does Sacha think Milan can win the league, or will it be Napoli, or Inter? As well as the progress of the Italian teams in the Champions League, with a chance that all 4 of Juventus, Atalanta, Inter and Milan (albeit only a slight chance for the rossoneri) could make it through the group stage to the next round. Italy's World Cup Qualification play-off draw against North Macedonia and a potential collision-course with Cristiano Ronaldo's Portugal. And don't miss our teaser about a Serie A player set to join us on the podcast next week! 00:20 Meet Sacha 03:18 Juve: What's wrong with you, stupido? 22:00 Milan v Sassuolo 31:00 Napoli, Milan or Inter? 38:52 Chronicles Tifosi: Mina's limerick 40:48 Italian teams in the Champions League 49:54 Napoli corner 57:50 Round-up: Roma v Torino, Empoli v Fiorentina, Venezia v Inter, upcoming mid-week matches 61:30 Italy's World Cup Qualification draw Don't forget our ChroniclesQ&A mailbag show on Friday. The Euro 2020 honeymoon... and Italy's sensational summer of sport... is well and truly over as Roberto Mancini's men failed to qualify directly for the 2022 World Cup. Its an international week, so lets talk about most things except the international football! With 12 games gone in the Premier League we take a look at the standing of the big 6, plus a few surprise teams. We pinpoint the key to the current good form and the pitfalls that may be ahead for teams on a high and the cause of angst and potentially the silver linings in the grey clouds of the struggling big boys. Ireland's 3-1 win vs the 'All Whites' on Thursday evening has given us a lot to talk about, especially with some players putting in good performances. And, most likely, cause for Irish fans to be up in arms about the reluctance to include them in Mondays 'want-to-win' game against our newly found nemesis Denmark. We talk willing bench warmers, transfer torture, Kenny's kids (again) and the ideal World Cup Qualification group that is 100% about destination and not footballing ability. Thanks for the support, we appreciate your kindness!
