He also mentioned their efforts to balance sustainability with efficiency and the importance of planning and flexibility in their operations. Also in the news … A Colorado club completes a multi-million-dollar transformation. The Pinery Country Club in Parker, Colo., created an open clubhouse flow that fosters a warm, social club culture. The fireplace lounge flows to the bar, allowing members to gather spontaneously, while the outdoor patio has been renovated as an extension of the main dining room, with seating for 100 guests. Indigo Sports, a Troon company, will oversee golf operations, agronomy, food and beverage, and sales and marketing at The Salt Pond Golf Club, a daily-fee course in Bethany Beach, Del. Lastly, Pebble Beach Resorts and the USGA unveiled the championship logo to kick off the 2027 U.S. Open. The official logo for the 127th U.S. Open incorporates enduring symbols of Pebble Beach and the championship's legacy, such as the lone Cypress—a defining symbol of Pebble Beach since its founding in 1919—and seven stars commemorating the seventh U.S. Open contested at Pebble Beach Golf Links.

We just had a massive golf week! The boys were down in the beautiful Monterey Peninsula for the US Women's Open at the glorious Pebble Beach Golf Links and snuck in a few rounds of their own. This week's championship is the first time the world's best female players are showcasing their talents at Pebble Beach Golf Links and the number of entrants has been record breaking. This week, a small army of golf course superintendents will descend upon Pebble Beach to get it into the best condition possible for the US Women's Open.  Among them will be Alex Hills, Senior Superintendent at Bay Hill Club and Lodge, and Bubba Wright, Superintendent of Pebble Beach Golf Links.  These two joined Matt for a conversation on prepping a course for a major and how golfers can help their local superintendents to keep their own home course pristine.

Hello again fellow Golfists,I was happy to be able to see some golf from Pebble Beach on Groundhog Day weekend 2023.  The PGA Tour decided to do away with amateur play on Sunday at Pebble and stick with what sells; professionals playing golf.  I was delighted to see this change of format because it allowed at least the pros to play the front nine on Sunday after the tournament was halted Saturday because of high winds at Monterey Peninsula Golf Club.  Tom Kite won the US Open at Pebble Beach in gale force winds and nobody halted any play that day in June 1992.  Once the play was over on CBS I got to see the continuing coverage on Peacock that also allowed me to see a gorgeous sunset from the Pebble Beach Golf Links.  Play was then suspended due to darkness to resume tomorrow at 8am pacific time.  I also enjoyed watching golf on this day with very little commercial interruption as well.  I hope that Justin Rose can hold on to win tomorrow at Pebble Beach. Thanks again for listening and visit The Knackered Golfist on YouTube to see my most recent music video.  Special shout out to Yooto'pea Golf for their wonderful Timeless Gatsby hat that I recieved recently.  #theknackeredgolfistpodcast #theknackeredgolfist#acushnetbullseyewideblade#yootopeagolf#thundervalleygolfresortatwhitneyoaks

Hello Fellow Racing Ears,Locke De Bretteville is the President of the Classic Sports Racing Group.  I remembered hearing Locke on an episode of The Vintage Racing Podcast with Greg Tatarian a few years ago and I finally was able to chat with him in this episode.  Locke and I talked about his racing memories going back into the late 60s and early 70s and his relationship with Jon Norman and other friends that were from Berkeley California.  We spoke about his experience driving his Pallister Winklemann Formula B racing car, how he found his car, and what its like to drive his racing car at ThunderHill Raceway in Willows California.  We also chatted about the NEW event that will be June 5 - 6 2021 and happening at WeatherTech Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey California.  I also love golf and so this was my opportunity to ask Locke about golf at Pebble Beach.  We chatted a little bit about how he won the 1974 Bing Crosby National Pro-Amateur at Pebble Beach Golf Links with Johnny Miller.  Johnny Miller won the tournament overall in 1974.   The David Love Vintage Races will be held at Sonoma Raceway April 9 - 11 2021 and I am very much looking forward to attending this event.  Thank you for listening to The Racing Ear Podcast.  #theracingearpodcast#CSRG#classicsportsracinggroup#lockedebretteville #sonomaraceway

This story was a tough one to write and it has caused some fascinating discussions with friends and fans.
