Welcome to the Fore Golfers Network/Michigan Golf Live Podcast Ep 515 - The Truth About Golf Ball Fitting with Dean Snell from Snell Golf. In this converaation, we break down the new Snell PR3 and PR4 golf balls and explain why the way you've been choosing your ball might be completely backwards. Here's the truth: you should NOT be picking your golf ball based on your driver. Instead, the real differences in performance show up from 150 yards and in—where scoring actually happens. To submit questions you want us to tackle for future episodes, visit: https://adamyounggolf.com/survey Jon and Adam kick off with a detailed look at golf balls - whether premium models like the Pro V1X truly offer an advantage, what the data says about distance, spin, and aerodynamics, and how much ball choice really matters for different skill levels. They share insights from Ballnamic testing, personal fittings, and quality control issues in direct-to-consumer models, highlighting when spending more is worth it and when it's just marketing hype. In the second half, they tackle some of golf's most entrenched myths, from rate of closure and “squaring the face” to the old “drive for show, putt for dough."
