Perrineau, Teyssier, Morel : après la chute, le chaos ?
Harold Perrineau is an American actor best known for his roles as Michael Dawson in the ABC television series Lost, Augustus Hill in the HBO television series Oz, and Sheriff Boyd Stevens in the MGM+'s From. We spoke with Perrineau about his character, all of the chaos that is going on (tried to get some answers), and of course my love of Romeo and Juliet (which he was fantastic in). *This interview was recorded pre-strike Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Shamindri De Sayrah Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Synopsis: "From" unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down. *From is available to stream on MGM+ Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @SilenceonSet and Instagram @SilenceonSetPod
Harold Perrineau returns to the show to chat about Season Two of FROM, the horror mystery box show (with elements of fantasy and sci-fi) airing Sundays on MGM+. He chats with host Aaron Sagers about the second season of FROM, the overall “plan” of the show, more about what scares him, and how introducing new characters to a show can be tricky. Plus, we chat about his character Boyd's potential for evil. FROM unravels the mystery of a nightmarish town that traps all those who enter. As the unwilling residents fight to keep a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest – including the terrifying creatures that come out when the sun goes down. In season two, hidden truths about the nature and terrifying origins of the town begin to emerge, even as life for its residents is plunged into chaos by the arrival of mysterious newcomers. And Harold Perrineau leads the ensemble cast as Boyd, the town's reluctant sheriff. Perrineau has had an incredible career, appearing in Oz, Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet, The Matrix franchise, Sons of Anarchy, The Best Man movies and TV series, and some of our favorites, the Constantine show and of course, and playing Michael on LOST. _______________________________________________________________ Talking Strange Paranormal Podcast with Aaron Sagers is a weekly paranormal pop culture show featuring celebrity and author interviews, with a weekly "Small Talk" mini-sode with reader submitted letters and spooky tales. If you've been following for any amount of time, you know that not only have I worked professionally in the field, but I also love some good fictionalized horror! And #From is no exception to that rule! This show is balls-to-the-wall scary, good fun! And it also has a heavy dose of humanity. If you're not interested for the monsters (omg, how can you not be) then you'll be with it for the mysteries, the science (yes, there's that too) and the community. #HaroldPerrineau is a perfect choice for this show, and not just because of his role in #Lost. (Let's just say now, while there are some similarities, this show is vastly different and far scarier.) One of the first times I remember seeing Perrineau perform was in the #BazLuhrmann rendition of #RomeoandJuliet. To this day, my SO and I rave about it regularly, particularly Perrineau's turn as Mercutio. It's one of the defining movies of my childhood! As in #Lost, #Oz, #TheMatrixReloaded and Revolutions, #Claws, #TheBestMan and anything else he's in, he just knows how to create a great, relatable yet intense performance. Along with that, the rest of the cast also has a fantastic on-screen chemistry and they're in sync, which makes for a series that anyone would be hungry for! (Literally - I finished the 10 episodes so fast, I kept opening and closing the show's page like a refrigerator door, hoping more would appear out of thin air. Much like the people in the town!) I liked it so much that the only thing that disappointed me was the death of one of the main characters (no spoilers). There's a lot to say about this show. One of the things that I'm glad they cleared early on was a rundown of what it's (likely) not. They're not dead, for one. Another is that I was right about a couple of major things that happen (which were not easy to figure out, but it was definitely fun). If you know, you know! This is a must-watch for any horror fan, hands down.

And in this paranormal pop culture interview with Aaron Sagers (Travel Channel's Paranormal Caught on Camera), he talks about what drew him to the series (and how it's different than Lost), as well as what scares him, and the urban legends of his childhood Brooklyn neighborhood. Paul and Erika get to access their theater roots and discuss Baz Luhrmann’s 1996 Shakespeare adaptation Romeo + Juliet. Spoiler alert for a 400 year old play! -Erika still loves West Side Story (yes, she knows it’s problematic)! -Paul enjoyed Netflix’s Dumplin’. -Want more Shakespeare? You could try Much Ado About Nothing (with Keanu Reeves!) or 10 Things I Hate About You (in case you’re over the verse).
Formerly a developper in sustainability, Caroline Perrineau aka "The Yoginist" found yoga at a difficult time in her life. While yoga was no miracle solution, it helped her to find strength and peacefulness in order to re-align her life. This truly inspiring human has a lot of life to share with us, which includes some very awesome Savoir Vivre.
I met Caroline last May (time flies!). She’s a yoga teacher based in Paris, but used to live abroad for some time, and so when she asked if we could speak English for her community to be able to listen (and understand!) the episode, I obviously agreed! I personally follow her VERY aesthetic Instagram account for quite some time now, or read articles about her (hello Vogue), or spotted some other partnerships with companies I admire (Baya, Yoga Connect to name a few). All this to say that when I contacted her, I was a bit nervous on whether she’ll accept my proposition or not! Not only she said yes, but also invited me over (yeahhhhh I got to discover her white walls and floors) (and Sasha, her dog) (very exciting to be behind the scenes)!
For our Valentine's Day show, we relitigate an ancient (mid-90s) grudge, which breaks to new mutiny. Flixwise newcomers Jacob Mertens and Erica Moulton head up opposite households in the Shakespearean adaptation universe.Jacob, who hails from the House of Baz, believes that Luhrmann's 1996 cultural touchstone, Romeo + Juliet is one of the greatest movies of all time. Erica, of the House of Skeptics, thinks that Baz's formal flourishes don't do justice to the original text. Host, Lady P plays referee as these two argue over whether or not this adaptation is worthy of canonization. Expect quarreling, drawn swords, and lots of swooning over young-Leo DiCaprio. Many thanks to friend of the show, Ma Narizza dela Cerna for the lovely intro.
"Romeo, Romeo, Romeo! Here’s drink. I drink to thee." - Juliet, Act 4, Scene 3 It's that lovin' time of year, listeners, and this time around we're celebrating Valentine's Day with Baz Luhrmann's flashy modern retelling of William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes! Shannon of the Stage of Fools podcast and Mercy Street Theatre's Julia Rohed accompany us as we talk about Shakespearean language, unconventional film adaptations of the Bard, and Romeo and Juliet's utter lack of peripheral vision. Listen anon with thine custom cocktail and drinking game! (Thanks to our sponsor Cards Against Humanity as part of the Chicago Podcast Coop!)
