Patricia Martin, a 1998 graduate of the Hoffman Process, has spent 30 years studying people and ideas that change the culture. She is the podcast host of Jung in the World. and is at the forefront of curating ideas of technology, culture, and humanity. Listen in as Patricia and Liz converse about the Hoffman Process, the healing that happens when we bend toward the Light, and how resiliency is the medicine for our chaotic times. Patricia came to the Process because she saw, firsthand, how a friend had changed by doing the Process. She saw her friend's radiance and wanted to "have what she was having." She says she arrived at the Process "on her knees." Using a metaphor of growth and photosynthesis, Patricia speaks eloquently of the nature of the Process and the Light. When enough patterns, stories, beliefs, and identities are transformed, the true nature of who we are can find the Light again. What Patricia recalls was the most healing during her Process was finally being able to grieve the death of her father who died when she was 10. Her mother became very depressed and Patricia became a parentified child - expected to take on parental duties at too young an age. As someone who has studied ideas that change the culture for decades, Patricia notes the chaotic nature of these times. She says that we are going through "the death of meaning" right now. This is what happens right before a renaissance - or re-birth - takes place. Patricia suggests that we can navigate these times with more serenity if we clear away the debris from our inner world. In short, what we do at the Process, is this clearing away. It is this death and rebirth that paves the way for a personal renaissance in our lives. More about Patricia Martin: Patricia Martin has spent 30 years studying people and ideas that change the culture. Currently, her focus is on the digital culture and our changing sense of self. She is the author of three non-fiction books on cultural trends and holds an MFA in writing from Bennington College and an MA in Irish Culture and Literature from the University College, Dublin. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Slate, PBS, and Huffington Post. She is certified in medical narrative from Duke University. Patricia is a graduate of the Jungian Studies Program at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago where she teaches writing and hosts the popular podcast Jung in the World. durée : 00:00:23 - GBVF Loisirs, plaisirs et curiosités : France Inter a 60 ans - par : Ali Rebeihi - Le club du vendredi qui tente d'enchanter votre vie quotidienne. Pat Martin campaigned hard for local NH state representatives who were committed to local action on climate change, but found her candidates on the losing side in those elections. Rather than waiting for the next election, and the uncertain promise that they held Pat has chosen a third path, she has opened up communication with her newly elected representatives with a letter that provides a model we all could use now, to build the relationships needed for change now. Pat, is a member of a growing and well-informed network of local grassroots organizations that are pooling their expertise and energy - if you will - to actively reach out to make their voices heard on the triple threats of climate, energy and environmental sustainability. Pat and my second guest, Susan Richman who serves as the communications director of the NH Network for Environment, Energy and Climate are an example of the many environmental patriots who are speaking out to make sure that all of our voices are heard and that we work to build bridges between people of goodwill with the hope that calling other in will be more effective than simply calling them out. This podcast is important not only because it stresses the power we have when we join together to make our voices heard, but because it offers some real and pragmatic ideas for what we can do right now as citizens of New Hampshire and the planet to foster change and sustainability.

The road to self-love often comes with both endings and new beginnings. Yet, the ends tend to undo us and make us doubt our worth, abilities, and self-esteem, especially when talking about our most intimate relationships. In continuing our search for building self-love, I sat down with my friend, Laura Patricia Martin, the host of the Happy and Healing Podcast, as she and I moved through what it takes to have full ownership of ourselves, self-love, steady relationships, and then we leaned into the important of self-inquiry. This conversation is filled with tools to help you shift beyond the negative, trying relationships and ultimate ends to finding yourself in the greatest sense of self-understanding, and it originally aired on the Healing to Happy Podcast hosted by Laura Patricia Martin. It is my pleasure to share it now with you. Key Takeaways: 00:00 Introduction 02:36 Laura asks me what I am personally walking through in this stage of my humanness 04:55 This is a year of significant changes for most of us, especially when we are growth-focused and how attachment does not serve our self-love and growth 08:03 What surrendering looks like and how to do it 11:00 How self-trust is the ONLY guide we have when we meet uncertainty 15:48 Trauma and self-trust that breaks our path to self-love 20:40 From ages 2 to 7 years in our lives is where we first create our definitions of safety 26:37 The difference between fault and responsibility 31:36 Relationships are 100% efforts of ourselves while meeting your needs first 33:51 Look at your relationships; how are you showing up and giving of yourself? 40:00 How to be the safe space for ourselves and others 45:06 Reparenting your reactions is a must when doors close and the new you steps through 46:30 Changing your language from “you” to “I” 50:17 The four questions for self-connection The greatest thing we can ever do for ourselves is to know and honor who we are outside of any relationship. It's truly the only way to build self-love, trust, respect, all the pieces that come into play with true life ownership and peace. I cannot thank Laura and the Healing to Happy enough for having me and allowing me to bring this conversation to you. Laura is no stranger to the Get Your Life Together, Girl podcast.
