Trinity Community Church- Pastor Jim Folk

Be Reconciled! Why would a person need to be reconciled to God? Many people think that God needs to be reconciled to them. Are humans the reference point for the universe? No, God is the fixed reference point. Is God obligated to our human standards or opinions on fairness, justice, or love? God is so… The post Be Reconciled to God appeared first on Trinity Community Church.

Go and Be Reconciled (11-24-24) Anthony Ceder by Grace Commons Church

The Grove Church

Big Idea: Christ, the only door to pure peace
Problem: We lose peace by looking for it in things God gives us while pushing Him out. Solution: Embrace Grace, be reconciled to God, let Him heal you and all you love, enjoy peace Vision: Weary traveler; step through the door, into the flourishing garden of peace Steps to Change: 1. Pursue the good life of peace 2. Embrace Grace 3. Be Reconciled to God 4. Give Him All you have 5. He will return it all healed 6. Invite Him into it all 7. He will give you the good life of peace here until you are there Moment of All In: Surrender yourself and all you have to Him, the cost is high, but the reward is higher. "The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26 This recording is from the sermon series “Who We Are. Scripture reading from Numbers 6:24-26 At The Grove Church, we strive to build a flourishing city, together. Transformative Truth:  Believers prove their relation to God by making peace with others. 1. God is the consummate Peacemaker. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him [Christ], and through him to reconcile to himself all things ...by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20 NIV Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. Romans 5:1-2 NIV 2. God wants us to be conscientious peacemakers. As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. 2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3 NIV The Four G's of Peacemaking a. Glorify God. b. Get the log out of your eye. c. Gently restore. d. Go and Be Reconciled. Glorify God: How can I please and honor God in this situation? Get the log out of your own eye: How can I show Jesus' work in me by taking responsibility for my contribution to this conflict? The Seven A's of Confession Address everyone involved. Avoid If, But, and Maybe. Admit specifically. Acknowledge the hurt. Accept the consequences. Alter your behavior. Ask for forgiveness (and allow time). Gently restore: How can I lovingly serve others by helping them take responsibility for their contribution to this conflict? The three qualifications of a good surgeon are requisite in a reprover: He should have an eagle's eye, a lion's heart, and a lady's hand: in short, he should be endued with wisdom, courage, and meekness [gentleness]. Go and be reconciled: How can I demonstrate the forgiveness of God and encourage a reasonable solution to this conflict? "I will not dwell on this incident." "I will not bring up this incident again and use it against you." "I will not talk to others about this incident." "I will not let this incident stand between us or hinder our personal relationship." Believers prove their relation to God by making peace with others.

Restore: to bring back to or put back into a former or original state. There might not be a greater truth than God's ability to restore. It goes further than forgiveness by renewing what was lost or broken. Joel 2 does a prophetic dive into the miraculous work of restoration.

Martyn Lloyd-Jones Sermon Podcast

2 Corinthians 5:6 — Learn of the calmness and assurance that comes with this Christian gospel. There is a confidence that comes with believing. All things are of God and for God. In this sermon on 2 Corinthians 5:6 titled “Be Reconciled to God,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones teaches that the first result of this new creation that Christianity proclaims is a new perspective. Listen as Dr. Lloyd-Jones proclaims the necessity of this radical reorientation and looks at the example of Paul. Examine the natural view of humanity versus the biblical view of humanity. No one can face the end of life without first accepting this teaching. No one will ever know the comfort of the Scriptures if they do not accept it from beginning to end. Are people merely animals? The world thinks that there is nothing outside of the concrete and material world, but there is an entirely other reality beyond humanity's comprehension. The world thinks that people are essentially and fundamentally good. Learn to think of them in terms of their relationship to God, and seen in the context of God. No one is the arbiter of their faith. God alone saves.

Proverbs 13:10 says “Only by pride cometh contention.” And James 4:6 says “God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.” In this conclusion of the command to Be Reconciled, Nate and Gabe share how being reconciled (as well as avoiding offenses altogether) comes down to humbling ourselves before God and allowing Him to transform every aspect of who we are.The foundation for being reconciled to our brother is realizing that God has reconciled us to Himself through Christ. God desires to be one with mankind! It is only when we understand the value of this that we can grasp the full weight of being reconciled to each other. Wendy attended a Sacred Story Retreat with a group of college friends where she reflected on God's work in her story. She shares with Laura how her relationship with her mother-in-law began with so much promise and yet unfolded in misunderstanding, hurt, and estrangement. Wendy describes how the tension began, what traumatic events caused a severing of the relationship, and how she and her husband navigated difficult dynamics. She also offers hope for anyone who is experiencing distance from a loved one when she shares how her relationship with her mother-in-law has been restored. Wendy's story Be Reconciled is an amazing example of how God takes the messiness of relationships and makes something beautiful. You will be encouraged! And we  count it a gift when you share the Sacred Story podcast with others.

Be Reconciled to GodGod took the initiative to pursue reconciliation with us when He sent Jesus Christ as an ambassador to pay the penalty for our sin. More than that, He rose from the dead to give us new life and the opportunity to serve Him as ambassadors of reconciliation in a world drowning in conflict. This message from 2 Corinthians 5:11-6:2 encourages us to remember that as citizens of God's kingdom, we are called to respond to conflict in a radically different way ... a way that leads to reconciliation.

This class introduces a 650-page full-color, verse-by-verse, study guide based on the landmark research of Dr. Avraham Gileadi and presents tools that will unlock hidden layers in scripture. Many people know that the Spring Feasts of Israel (Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Firstfruits) were fulfilled in magnificent detail at the first coming of Christ. Some also understand that the Fall Feasts (Trumpets, Atonement, and Tabernacles) are appointments set long ago with Israel and Christ for His second coming. But do you know what the prophecies in the Fall Feasts are? Will you recognize the signs of the times? There is a story of the peoples of Israel that is woven into the background of all history and all prophecy. The sons and daughters of Lehi are just one of the branches in an epic tale whose scope is not just a country, not even the nations, but in prophetic events that will envelop the whole world. It is written in the stars. It is rehearsed in the ancient Feasts of Israel. It is encoded throughout the scriptures. Ether, Isaiah, Nephi, Mormon, and Moroni saw it—and so did Joseph Smith. Jesus initiated stage two in AD 33, and stage three is on the prophetic horizon. Do we understand how the vision of the fulfillment of covenantal promises made to Lehi and to all of the fathers of Israel unfolds? Do we know the backstory of the branches of the house of Israel well enough to fulfill Ephraim’s part?A simple conversation… a multi-layered prophecy that would revolutionize the teachings and the missions of the early apostles… Here, Jesus would establish the beginning of a new era of time—and embed within their exchange of words, a code that details precisely when that era will be fulfilled. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Farrell Pickering attended SUSC in the field of Engineering and excels in spacial skills and the logic of building. David Woollin of Reformation Heritage Books joins Matthew Vogan outside what is now The Writer's Museum in Edinburgh.  However, the initials carved in stone on the 17th century marriage lintel above the door confirm that this was once the childhood home of a remarkable young Scottish preacher called Andrew Gray.   RHB have published a new book with twelve rare sermons preached by Andrew Gray."There is no substitute for reading Gray himself. He will warm your soul, convict you of slothfulness and urge you to godliness. He is always full of spirit and life.  His sermons make doctrine intelligible and practical. They powerfully speak to the mind and the conscience, comforting the regenerate and inviting the unsaved. Above all, they seek to win souls to Christ."Dr. Joel Beeke.Find out more here:Be Reconciled with God: Sermons of Andrew Gray (Gray)

The latest message in These 40 Days is "Be Reconciled." We are called to be reconciled to God, but what does that include? Do we put off doing important things? Should we? Let these 40 days be a time of preparation and revelation. Our scripture readings come from 2 Corinthians 5:16-21 and Luke 15:1-3,11b-32.

Conflict is inevitable. In fact, if you have no conflict in a relationship, the truth is that you are simply not being honest with people. The good news is that conflict doesn't have to be win/lose. If you have your priorities and goals straight, you can be successful in every conflict. This is because the first priority of a Christian is to glorify God and serve other people. The other three G's are: Get the Log Out of Your Own Eye, Gently Restore, and God and Be Reconciled. This message series is based on work from Peacemaker Ministries at www.peacemakers.net
