Wanna see the Future of the Water Industry? Listen to this! More #water insights? Connect with me on Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/antoinewalter1/ A big thanks to my sponsor, SimpleLab! https://gosimplelab.com/ I know the future - so let me share it! Indeed, yes, I did it again: I drowned myself in 153'482 LinkedIn ads for the keywords "Water" and "Wastewater" from Q2 to Q3 2024 (using a “slightly homemade” scraping approach - please forgive me, LinkedIn!). I did so, looking for the signals companies believe will make them money in 2025 - that's how I know the future. Why ads, you ask? Well, for a simple reason: businesses rarely burn ad budgets on dead-ends. So, if they're paying to talk about it, they must see an ROI! Here's the executive summary of what I learned: that's hopefully enough to give you plenty of conversation starters and investment hints!

Recorded August 9, 2024 Chris is confused about what day it is so he has to intro the show twice. Then once we've figure that out, we're joined by Robert Durbin and Travis Cawthorne from Kramer AV to talk about their recent acquisition of ZeeVee. Next, we discuss the concept of streamlining classroom AV systems to just a PC or laptop… or both. Why does anyone need more than that anyway? All your content is starting there, so get rid of the rest of your stuff! It's contentious, but surely a glimpse of the future. Finally, there's a technology arms race for building out spaces on campus with student recruiting specifically in mind. Our un-official Official Sports Business Expert Brian Cooper is on the show today. A man who has had many fingers in many different pies over his career, we start with his role as Chairman of Canada Basketball. With Zach Edey being drafted to the Memphis Grizzlies 9th overall last night the question is now - Will he play for Canada at the Olympics? With inside knowledge on the matter, Brian gives Bob and John his opinion, expressing his thoughts as to why having the 7'4” Rookie Centre could help the team in Paris. The three spend a bit more time on Canada Basketball before the break as Bob and John get caught up to speed with the teams selection process leading up to the games along with developments from the women's side of things as well as Canada's 3x3 teams. After the break, focus shifts to the business side of sports. After learning about the increase in American viewership for the Stanley Cup Final, the three get into where the league is trending when it comes to streaming and sponsorships as they try to anticipate what direction sports, sponsorship and viewership is going in for the future.
Do consumers have too many options when it comes to watching sports? That's the question Bob, John, and Richard Deitsch ask on today's show as the discussion begins with the Stanley Cup Final and the NHL's attempt to grow more fans in the United States. Building off their initial conversation, the focus turns to Copa America and soccer's attempt to grow in popularity in North America. From there, the three transition into talks about the Toronto Blue Jays and the team's glaring need for change from the front office down to their roster. After the break, it's all NBA draft talk as the league prepares for its draft tonight. Bob, Richard, and John look into who they think the Toronto Raptors should draft at 19 before noting the lack of talent in this year's draft pool.
In this episode, I talk the market not being as “saturated” as you think, why individuality and going your own path is actually less saturated than doing what society deems as the “safe” path, being a market maker instead of a market follower, how AI will not replace authenticity but it will replace mediocrity, people buy and support wha you do and who you are not what you sell and more!Follow me on Instagram @mattgottesmanJump on my weekly texts for the soul here 480-530-7352My writing mattgottesman.substack.com

This is one of my favorite things to do ever: take YOUR burning questions and answer them live. Just last month in April of 2024, I had the privilege of speaking to a group of approximately 150 people at the Young Professionals Association of Dubuque, Iowa. They had me in to talk about marketing and how to get seen by more people, particularly through your digital marketing strategies. When I went to this function, I love to share what I know and came prepared with slides, supportive resources, and a 45-minute planned speech. But, as with many programs I've been to before, I felt like the biggest takeaways came from the Q&A portion of the event. When we have an opportunity to ask burning questions from the audience in order to get the perspective of the speaker, it engages the participants and allows for real-time learning and application. This episode is the result of all those fantastic questions the YP attendees submitted. Read below for a preview of some of the topics we cover (and my answers) and a few helpful links for more information! 2:37 Question 1: Where did you get your blazer? Answer 1: Old Navy 3:27 Question 2: How do you encourage a client to utilize all parts of the flywheel in their marketing when a decent amount of local businesses have small budgets? Answer 2: So this is a fantastic question. If you want to know what the heck is a flywheel, go over to my episode from the beginning of May, the very first episode, episode 162. That one's going to be all about the marketing flywheel, and how I encourage my audience or sorry, how I encourage my clients to develop a more holistic marketing strategy. Short story: I would remind you that good marketing doesn't mean you have to pay more for it. It just means that you are doing things in a way that your audience recognizes and appreciates, and you are meeting them where they are. For example, in the attraction phase of your marketing, I really do recommend that you're doing things in your strategy that are getting new eyeballs on you. This could mean collaborations. For example, I bring guests onto my podcast. It doesn't cost them any money to come be a guest with me, but it's opening them up to a whole new audience. If they go and do two podcast guest spots a month, then they're open to two new audiences each month. They're attracting a lot more people in. It's not costing them money. It's just costing them time. And that's helping them really get clear on where their time and energy and efforts are spent for that attraction phase of their marketing. 12:21 Question 3: Have you ever worked on a hiring campaign for a client? And if you have, what was successful and what was not so successful? 24:19 Question 4: Should a business still be using Twitter/X? 27:27 Question 5: What are your thoughts on Pinterest? Tap here to listen to a recent episode on this very topic! 34:31 Question 6: Besides social media, where else should you market in person events? 40:58 Question 7: Platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn have become flooded with entrepreneurs and businesses competing for the attention of their audience. They've essentially become red oceans (tap here for more info on the blue ocean vs. red ocean analogy). Has the shift away from traditional marketing actually created a large opportunity for some savvy people to leverage it? One of the keys to success in multifamily investing is picking a market that's not fully discovered and still experiencing a lot of growth. Another aspect of this strategy is buying B class properties with huge rental upside without having to pay a lot in unit or exterior upgrades. Christopher Stout, Principal and leader of StoutCap, has selected Northern Alabama, NW Arkansas, and Fayetteville, NC as up and coming markets that are growing, but not yet saturated with other investors. These are fast-growing markets with high rental demand and little new supply.

It's been said that sales are the life blood of every business. No sales… No dinner. But what about leads? It doesn't matter what business you run, without leads, it's only a matter of time before you are shutting down shop. Welcome to the Big Money Stylist Podcast with your host, Danielle K White! In this episode, Danielle is joined by DKW Styling Salon Artist Katherine Raynor as they dive into the topic of how the rise of social media algorithms has dramatically impacted our ability to make money and gain visibility in today's oversaturated market. Remember the good old days when social media first started, and getting noticed was relatively easier? Well, as the market became oversaturated with content, standing out and gaining visibility has become a real challenge. But fear not; Danielle and Katherine are here to share some valuable insights on how you can still succeed! They emphasize the need to differentiate yourself from the competition and evolve your strategies continually. What worked five years ago may not work today, so adaptation is key. Stay ahead of the game by analyzing marketing strategies and making educated decisions based on insights, analytics, and trends. It's not about throwing ideas at the wall and hoping they stick, but rather using data to inform your marketing decisions. Speaking of data, the hosts discuss the impact of social media algorithms on engagement and ego. It's easy to get caught up in the number of likes, but Danielle and Katherine remind us that even a smaller number of likes can hold significant value. The focus should be on continuous improvement and growth, not just chasing vanity metrics. Now, for all our fellow hair stylists out there, Danielle and Katherine address the unique challenge of balancing entertaining guests and focusing on your art. They understand the struggle of trying to create a perfect hairstyle while keeping the clients engaged and comfortable. Being present at the moment and reading the room is crucial to creating a welcoming environment. However, they acknowledge that this balancing act can be exhausting, and hair stylists often feel drained at the end of the day. They share practical tips on how to manage this exhaustion and still find time for personal lives and self-care. So, join Danielle K. White and Katherine Raynor on this eye-opening episode as they navigate the complexities of social media algorithms, marketing strategies, and the art of being a successful and fulfilled hair stylist in today's fast-paced world.

Now the creamery is hauling wastewater to a plant in St. Paul. The situation is affecting about 45 dairy farmers in Minnesota and Wisconsin. Minnesota Milk Producers Association Executive Director Lucas Sjostrom joined MPR News host Cathy Wurzer to talk about it.
