In this episode, Teresa sits down with Myah Jenae, founder of Right to Know, a grassroots women's health initiative reaching college campuses across the country. At just 22, Myah is helping young women reclaim an understanding of their bodies through cycle literacy, education, and community. Myah shares her personal story of early puberty, severe period pain, and the frustration of being dismissed by healthcare providers who offered hormonal birth control as the only solution. After years of struggling, she found healing through nutrition—eliminating her pain and transforming not only her physical health, but her emotional well-being. Through her work, Myah has spoken to nearly 1,600 college-aged women in just eight weeks. She's found a striking pattern: the vast majority have felt dismissed or minimized when bringing up concerns about their cycles. Many were made to feel that tracking their cycles was unnecessary or even silly, leading them to disconnect from their bodies. Right to Know exists to change that narrative. The initiative emphasizes both body literacy and identity, helping women understand that painful cycles are not normal and that their bodies are not broken. Myah addresses the deeper “identity lies” many women carry: the belief that suffering is simply part of being female. On campuses, Right to Know sparks conversation in bold and creative ways including signs that read “period cramps aren't normal” and a period cramp simulator that invites men into the conversation. These encounters open the door to deeper discussions about hormone health, fertility awareness, and alternatives to hormonal birth control. But the mission goes beyond symptom relief. Myah explains how healing her cycle unlocked joy, energy, and the ability to connect more deeply with others. What began as physical healing became a profound emotional transformation. At the heart of Right to Know is community. Their “Big Sister” program equips women to walk alongside others with compassion and clarity, creating spaces where women can learn, track, and grow together. Through shared practices like prioritizing sleep, nourishment, and cycle awareness, participants experience both education and support. Myah's message is simple but powerful: the female body is not designed for chronic pain. Instead, symptoms are signals an invitation to look deeper and restore balance. Teresa closes the episode with a call to action: share this message. Whether you're a young woman navigating your own cycle or someone who wishes you had learned this earlier, you have the ability to pass this knowledge on. Change begins with awareness and with the courage to start the conversation. Transparency is a cornerstone of effective local governance, and in New Hampshire, the Right-to-Know law (RSA 91-A) empowers citizens to access public records and ensure their government remains accountable. From the ACLU's discovery of a proposed immigration detention center in Merrimack, to Executive Councilor Janet Stevens' recent request for details from the Berlin Police Department about the murder of Marisol Fuentes, the Right-to-Know law has played a significant role in recent news stories. But the law isn't only available to lawyers and officials. This guide provides a clear, step-by-step roadmap for successfully filing a Right-to-Know request—from your initial search for existing public information to following up on your formal submission—to help you obtain the government information you seek. A conversation with Kiira Heymann, Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Non-GMO Project and the Food Integrity Collective. After the success of the Non-GMO Project in the U.S., which is now featured on almost 63,000 products, the team is launching the Non-Ultra-Processed Food verification. In this conversation, we discuss why—why introduce another label? And why is it so important for the food sector to focus on increasing consumers' capacity to demand more from their food system, rather than just adding another label? This isn't just another label—it's a carefully considered intervention designed to reconnect people with their food in profound ways. When 70% of American store shelves hold ultra-processed products engineered with ingredients banned in other countries, the stakes couldn't be higher. What makes this effort particularly fascinating is how it challenges the very foundation of food certification itself. Rather than creating another "shortcut to trust", the team is exploring how to eliminate the need for certifications entirely by rebuilding true transparency in our food system. Their research shows 81% of North Americans are concerned about questionable ingredients in their food, yet only 17% feel knowledgeable about the topic—a gap this initiative aims to close.Beyond ingredients, this movement addresses the cognitive impact of ultra-processed foods. Studies show these products can significantly impair brain function in as little as 30 days, creating a troubling cycle where the very foods engineered to be addictive are simultaneously diminishing our capacity to make better choices. By helping consumers understand and avoid ultra-processed foods, the certification offers a pathway toward better physical and mental wellbeing.Currently in its pilot phase with 20 pioneering brands, the non-UPFs verification program aims to launch products by fall 2025. The certification represents more than just another shopping guide—it's an invitation to experience the profound difference real food makes in how we feel, think, and connect with our world.More about this episode on https://investinginregenerativeagriculture.com/kiira-heymann.==========================In Investing in Regenerative Agriculture and Food podcast show we talk to the pioneers in the regenerative food and agriculture space to learn more on how to put our money to work to regenerate soil, people, local communities and ecosystems while making an appropriate and fair return. Are the Bees OK? Pic of honey bees On today's show, I'll speak to award winning, investigative journalist Rebecca Raney. Her her latest article in U. S. Right To Know (usrtk.org) discusses the fudged numbers surrounding the nationwide bee population. In her article entitled, “Are the Bees Okay or Not. USDA Bee Colony Numbers Disputed”, Rebecca Raney states: Award-winning Investigative Journalist Rebecca Raney “Beekeepers and honey producers are disputing a federal honeybee census estimate of 3.8 million colonies in the United States in 2022 – a record number for the nationwide count. That estimate showed a 35 percent increase from the estimate of 2.8 million colonies in 2017. The report drove headlines claiming that U.S. bee farms are “buzzing” and that bees are “flourishing again.” To beekeeping advocates, inflated numbers of bee colonies – a prominent statistic on bee health – can undermine efforts to get funding to improve colony health. To conservationists, high-profile reports of record numbers of bee colonies in the face of a well-documented trend of insect extinctions complicate the job of maintaining public awareness about food security and the effects of pesticides.” Additional Articles by Rebecca Raney: “Anatomy of a science meeting: How controversial pesticide research all but vanished from a major conference” The post Are The Bees OK? To hear more, visit www.widerlenspod.comMany who promote gender identity ideology claim to champion children's rights but often serve adult agendas at the expense of the child's long-term best interests. There is danger of making irreversible decisions for children based on this ideology, which can lead to long-lasting harm. By reinforcing the authority of parents and ensuring they have the power to protect their children from such influences, society can better safeguard children's basic human rights and ensure their healthy development.Advocacy for parenting and policymaking should focus on the long-term well-being of children, rather than their immediate expressed desires. Maintaining policies and laws that protect children's long-term interests and empower parents to make decisions on their behalf is crucial, ensuring that children grow up in a safe and supportive environment that honors their true needs and rights. In this bonus episode for premium subscribers, Vernadette outlines a comprehensive list of what she considers basic human rights for children, emphasizing the necessity for children to receive truthful education about science and human biology, protection of their bodies from harmful and unproven treatments, and the preservation of their future fertility. She stresses that children should have access to effective therapies that address underlying issues such as family dysfunction, autism, and trauma, rather than being subjected to experimental procedures driven by ideological influences. A key component of her argument is the critical role of parental authority. Vernadette asserts that parents, as the natural guardians of their children, should be empowered to make informed decisions that prioritize their child's long-term well-being, including safeguarding the child's right to natural development and protection from unnecessary medical interventions.Watch our full length episode with Vernadette Broyles: https://www.widerlenspod.com/p/episode-170To listen to our premium content in your favorite podcast app click here for Substack instructions on setting up a private feed.
