For this analysis, 12,242 internet speed tests from the nPerf app (available on Android and iOS) were considered in Ireland between January 1, 2024, and September 30, 2024. Ireland offered a mobile download speed 22 Mb/s faster than the UK. Portugal is the fastest country, offering an average of 177 Mb/s, 75 Mb/s faster than Ireland. France is in second place with an average of 113 Mb/s, followed by Ireland (102 Mb/s) and Germany (99 Mb/s). Behind Spain (85 Mb/s) are Italy (81 Mb/s) and the UK (80 Mb/s). In Ireland, the operators covered by these tests, which represent the total average speed, are Eir, Three and Vodafone. The average speed takes into account 3G, 4G, and 5G technologies. The Fastest Smartphone in Ireland In terms of mobile internet speed, the fastest device in Ireland is the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The average speed with this device was 133 Mb/s between January and September 2024. In this category, Ireland is in last place. The United Kingdom is ahead of it with the iPhone 15 Pro Max (154 Mb/s on average). In this category, Portugal also achieves the fastest speed with the same iPhone 15 Pro Max (an average of 269 Mb/s). The same Apple device is also the fastest in France and Germany. What is the benefit of having a fast download speed on mobile? 1. Uninterrupted streaming: To watch high-definition videos on platforms or to listen to music without interruptions, a fast connection is needed to load content in real-time. 2. Quality video calls: High-definition video calls, essential for remote work and personal communication, require good speed to avoid delays, poor image quality, or call dropouts. 3. Fast downloads of files and applications: With a fast connection, downloading applications, updating software, or receiving large documents becomes a quick and easy process. 4. Smooth browsing experience: With good speed, websites and applications load instantly, making for a much more comfortable and faster user experience, without frustrating wait times In Ireland, the average loading time for a web page on mobile internet was 2 seconds, according to data from nPerf, between January and September 2024. This is the best result. The United Kingdom ranked last in this category, as well as in overall speed. nPerf offers a web browsing test in its app. The test, designed to precisely gauge loading times, focuses on five of the most frequented websites in the country. 5. Online gaming without latency: To play online, especially in multiplayer games, fast speed is essential to avoid lag or delays that could affect the gaming experience. 6. Increased productivity at work and study: Fast speeds enable professionals and students to perform cloud tasks, attend virtual classes, and access online resources seamlessly, enhancing efficiency and reducing wait times. In summary, a fast download speed on mobile facilitates a more comfortable and efficient user experience, allowing users to make the most of modern digital tools and services, which is fundamental in today's interconnected world. In the latest episode of the Wise_N_Nerdy podcast, hosts Charles and Joe embark on a rollercoaster of laughter and insights. With their signature blend of humor and camaraderie, this dynamic duo delves into a series of segments that keep listeners entertained from start to finish. The episode kicks off with their traditional "Question of the Week," and this time, the spotlight is on the personal traits that have caused the most mischief. Charles and Joe engage in a lively exchange of guesses for each other, reminiscing about the times their own quirks led to uproarious trouble. After the laughter settles, it's time to roll the dice and commence the "Daddy Tell Me a Story" segment. Charles takes the mic, regaling the audience with exhilarating tales of recent milestones. From acquiring a million-dollar slice of real estate to Joe's riveting recount of a tantalizing job offer, their experiences prove that life's adventures come in all shapes and sizes. As the dice dictate, the duo segues into the "Let Daddy Decide" portion. Joe recounts a tale of sly compliance, sharing how he ingeniously navigated a manager's directive not to email. The mischievous twist in Joe's tale leaves listeners both amused and applauding his clever approach. "Can You Dig It?" emerges next, with Charles at the helm. He discusses his bold move of transitioning from iOS to Android with the sleek new Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Through his candid account, listeners gain insight into the challenges and triumphs of adapting to an unfamiliar tech landscape. Laughter continues to flow as the fates align to deliver a "Bad Dad Joke." This time, the joke centers around a humorous encounter with an x-ray technician, reminding everyone that life's absurdities are often the best source of shared joy. The podcast crescendos with the "What Are You Nerding Out About" segment. Joe delves into his latest binge-watch, the captivating show "Alone," and his cherished bonding moments while playing Xbox with his children. Charles, on the other hand, unveils the exciting transformations in his studio, offering a glimpse into his evolving creative sanctuary. As the episode wraps up, Charles and Joe leave their audience with a resonating message: "Remember: they may not be your father, but they'll always be your daddy." This heartfelt sign-off encapsulates the unique bond between the hosts and their listeners, creating a sense of warmth and connection that keeps fans coming back for more. In this episode of Wise_N_Nerdy, Charles and Joe masterfully intertwine humor, personal anecdotes, and insightful discussions. With their trademark chemistry, they illuminate the highs and lows of life's adventures, leaving listeners eagerly awaiting their next escapade. #Alwaysbeyourdaddy --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/wise-n-nerdy/message

This week on The Chrome Cast, we discuss our collective, weeks-long experience with Google's Pixel Fold. From the things that make it unique and seriously great to those that create a good deal of user frustration, we cover what it was like to use the Pixel Fold and why - in the end - I ended up taking my SIM card back over to the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. But there are more foldables on the way, and with some tweaks and fixes, this form factor could end up being truly special in the end. This week on The Chrome Cast, we're talking about the new HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook – as much as we can at this point, at least – and why this new device is very important in the consumer Chromebook market. Sure, there's an impressive spec sheet, but a fantastic Chromebook needs more than just stats, and the HP Dragonfly Pro Chromebook has it. While we're a bit limited in what we can say right now, I can at least say this: the Dragonfly Pro is special, and we'll be able to tell you more about why that is in the near future. For the rest of the show, we discuss my recent move to Samsung's Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Galaxy Watch 5, and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro as my daily carry items. With so many of our audience likely carrying Samsung gadgets and the increased cohesion between Samsung and Google of late, I thought it a good time to test out the waters. We also get into the newly-found evidence for some upcoming MediaTek-powered ChromeOS tablets as well, signaling the first hope we've had in quite some time for some new detachable action in the Chromebook market. It's time for episode 293 of the Mobile Tech Podcast with guests Raphael Mimoun and Clayton LiaBraaten (Truecaller), plus Chris Davies (SlashGear) -- brought to you by Truecaller. Today's show comes in two parts. First, we learn how Truecaller brings Google Pixel-like call-screening features (and more) to any phone. Second (17:57), we dive into Nothing's Ear Stick earbuds, Apple's future USB Type-C-equipped iPhones, Samsung's leaked Galaxy S23 Ultra cameras, and Xiaomi's crazy (but awesome) 12S Ultra concept with interchangeable Leica lenses. Enjoy :)Episode Links- Support the podcast on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/tnkgrl- Donate: https://tnkgrl.com/tnkgrl/- Truecaller: https://www.truecaller.com/call-screening (sponsor)- Raphael Mimoun: https://www.linkedin.com/in/raphael-mimoun-80410221/- Clayton LiaBraaten: https://www.linkedin.com/in/liabraaten/- Chris Davies: https://twitter.com/c_davies- Nothing Ear Stick: https://www.theverge.com/23426576/nothing-ear-stick-true-wireless-headphones-earbuds-review- Apple confirms future USB Type-C-equipped iPhones: https://www.engadget.com/iphones-switch-usb-c-comply-eu-charger-law-075020117.html- Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra camera leaks: https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s23_ultra_trounces_s22_ultra_camera_in_first_leaked_photo-news-56326.php- Xiaomi 12S Ultra concept: https://www.engadget.com/iphones-switch-usb-c-comply-eu-charger-law-075020117.html
