And, campaigners against Government plans to reintroduce Inheritance Tax on farms worth over £1 million found an unlikely ally in President Trump this week. But with the Government showing no sign of changing course, how feasible is a backbench rebellion on which farm lobby groups are now pinning their hopes?Presenter: Charlotte Smith Producer: Sarah Swadling

Your third podcast postcard from the Paris at the French Open from Alina and Chris, who covering all the behind the scenes action from Roland-Garros including Coco Gauff forgetting her rackets but remembering her custom New Balance leather jacket for the walk out! They also put questions to Jack Draper and Iga Swiatek with varying degrees of success. Jack won his first match at Roland-Garos and made it clear he has goals much bigger than round 2 at the clay court slam. He will have to tackle home favourite Gael Monfils playing his second Night match in a row.Novak Djokovic was also in action and there was some serious debate on court about whether to close the roof or not to which he and the crowd said PLEASE close it! Alina and Chris debate how they would feel if they got wet on a court WITH a roof. Finally Chris asks Iga Swiatek about saving all the break points she faced against Emma Raducanu and Iga well, didn't have an answer and was 'sorry for that' but either way the lesson was learned, don't lead with a statistic!PROPERTY HUB INVESTIf you're serious about property, head to https://propertyhub.net/start to take your first step.SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. Social movements – and the protests they give rise to – have happened on American soil since before the country's establishment as an independent nation. On Dec. 16, 1773, American colonists demonstrated their dissatisfaction with British tax policies by dressing in disguise and dumping 342 chests – around 92,000 pounds – of valuable tea into Boston Harbor. Originally known as “the Destruction of the Tea,” the event was later nicknamed “the Boston Tea Party.” In this century, we've seen part of that moniker repurposed by the tea party movement, a group interested in lower taxes and decreased government spending who staged protests in over 750 U.S. cities on April 15, 2009 – Tax Day. Social injustices, environmental issues and political concerns are just a few of myriad reasons people have organized protests over the course of history. David S. Meyer, UC Irvine professor of sociology, political science, and urban planning and public policy, is one of the nation's top scholars on social movements. In this episode of The UC Irvine Podcast, Meyer leans on years of study to put today's realities into historical perspective, analyze the current state of polarization and share what he's learned about how action can spark change. “Downpour,” the music for this episode, was provided by Patiño via the audio library in YouTube Studio.

Welcome to our motorsports podcast where we discuss F1, IndyCar, IMSA, NASCAR, our own racing adventures, and some other adventures!Formula One has kicked off their season with a wet and wild opening race in Melbourne, Australia. Lando Norris and McLaren take the victory and make it known that their car is the car to beat this year. We'll see if other teams can catch up in development. Max Verstappen and Red Bull continue to show a strong performance despite the 2nd Red Bull being once again off the pace and nowhere. With that said, there were some mechanical gremlins that hindered Liam Lawson's track time in FP3 so it's not just the driver to blame for this performance.IMSA had another edition of the Sebring 12 Hours with Porsche standing on top of the podium in both GTP and GTD Pro! They continue to show why they are the team to beat in these longer endurance races especially in GTP. BMW and Acura were quick as well this weekend in GTP and were giving the Porsches a good battle all race. Aston Martin made its GTP debut with its highly anticipated Valkyrie! Although finishing the race 2 laps down to the leader it did finish the race which means plenty of data to sift through and the car is robust enough to handle Sebring's bumps! In NASCAR, Josh Berry takes the win at Las Vegas.F1 is back to back with race weekends as they head to China next. NASCAR heads to Homestead, FL and IndyCar is back for round 2 at Thermal Club in California.Coming up this weekend: NASCAR at Homestead, F1 in China, and IndyCar at Thermal.

This time around, we have a bit of a different format, featuring the book that started it all for me, The 4-Hour Workweek. Readers and listeners often ask me what I would change or update, but an equally interesting question is: what wouldn't I change? What stands the test of time and hasn't lost any potency? This episode features one of the most important chapters from the audiobook of The 4-Hour Workweek. It includes tools and frameworks that I use to this day, including Pareto's Law and Parkinson's Law. The chapter is narrated by the great voice actor Ray Porter. If you are interested in checking out the rest of the audiobook, which is produced and copyrighted by Blackstone Publishing, you can find it on Audible, Apple, Google, Spotify, Downpour.com, or wherever you find your favorite audiobooks.Sponsors:ExpressVPN high-speed, secure, and anonymous VPN service: https://www.expressvpn.com/tim (get 3 or 4 months free on their annual plans) Momentous high-quality supplements: https://livemomentous.com/tim (code TIM for 20% off)Helix Sleep premium mattresses: https://HelixSleep.com/Tim (Between 20% and 27% off all mattress orders and two free pillows)*For show notes and past guests on The Tim Ferriss Show, please visit tim.blog/podcast.For deals from sponsors of The Tim Ferriss Show, please visit tim.blog/podcast-sponsorsSign up for Tim's email newsletter (5-Bullet Friday) at tim.blog/friday.For transcripts of episodes, go to tim.blog/transcripts.Discover Tim's books: tim.blog/books.Follow Tim:Twitter: twitter.com/tferriss Instagram: instagram.com/timferrissYouTube: youtube.com/timferrissFacebook: facebook.com/timferriss LinkedIn: linkedin.com/in/timferrissPast guests on The Tim Ferriss Show include Jerry Seinfeld, Hugh Jackman, Dr. Jane Goodall, LeBron James, Kevin Hart, Doris Kearns Goodwin, Jamie Foxx, Matthew McConaughey, Esther Perel, Elizabeth Gilbert, Terry Crews, Sia, Yuval Noah Harari, Malcolm Gladwell, Madeleine Albright, Cheryl Strayed, Jim Collins, Mary Karr, Maria Popova, Sam Harris, Michael Phelps, Bob Iger, Edward Norton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Neil Strauss, Ken Burns, Maria Sharapova, Marc Andreessen, Neil Gaiman, Neil de Grasse Tyson, Jocko Willink, Daniel Ek, Kelly Slater, Dr. Peter Attia, Seth Godin, Howard Marks, Dr. Brené Brown, Eric Schmidt, Michael Lewis, Joe Gebbia, Michael Pollan, Dr. Jordan Peterson, Vince Vaughn, Brian Koppelman, Ramit Sethi, Dax Shepard, Tony Robbins, Jim Dethmer, Dan Harris, Ray Dalio, Naval Ravikant, Vitalik Buterin, Elizabeth Lesser, Amanda Palmer, Katie Haun, Sir Richard Branson, Chuck Palahniuk, Arianna Huffington, Reid Hoffman, Bill Burr, Whitney Cummings, Rick Rubin, Dr. Vivek Murthy, Darren Aronofsky, Margaret Atwood, Mark Zuckerberg, Peter Thiel, Dr. Gabor Maté, Anne Lamott, Sarah Silverman, Dr. Andrew Huberman, and many more.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Doug Sovern is away today. January has been a particularly dry month in Northern California, but that's about to change. With storms sweeping through the region this weekend, the Bay Area braces for a soaking while further east in the Sierra, a downpour of the powdery kind is expected. For a deeper look, KCBS Radio news anchor Bret Burkhart spoke with Andrew Schwartz, Director of UC Berkeley's Central Sierra Snow Laboratory.
ABOUT DOWNPOUR A sudden storm appears above an isolated farmhouse in rural Illinois, bringing with it a relentless and unnatural rain. A rain that eats away at everything it touches. A rain that turns people into monsters. Trapped inside his crumbling home, a father must do everything he can to keep his family from falling apart. But the rain calls to them, and not everyone wants to stay inside. Haunted by memories of loss, he must put aside his painful past and find a way to keep them all safe. But the rain shows no signs of stopping, and time is running out. From the award-winning author of Suburban Monsters comes a heartbreaking tale of survival and terror. ABOUT CHRISTOPHER HAWKINS Born and raised near the shores of Lake Michigan, Christopher Hawkins has been writing and telling stories for as long as he can remember. A dyed-in-the-wool geek, he is an avid collector of books, roleplaying games and curiosities. When he's not writing, he spends his time exploring old cemeteries, lurking in museums, and searching for a decent cup of tea. Christopher is an award-winning author and the former editor of the One Buck Horror anthology series. His works of short fiction have been published in numerous magazines and anthologies, including Cosmic Horror Monthly, Fusion Fragment, Underland Arcana and The Big Book of New Short Horror. It was a DOWNPOUR at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party on Sunday, September 8th, 2024. We thought we could wait out the rain with a Disney Dining Show at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Café, but we were wrong! This small dining review was, unfortunately, all that we were able to do that night, but we made the most of it and ordered all the party-exclusive items on the menu. There were some surprises, both good and bad. If you've got your eye on some Mickey's Not-So-Scary Exclusive food items, I'd consider this review before you order.Links:Important DIS links for more information!Support us on Patreon and receive exclusive content!
