Sisters Who Scene It

Send us a textKatie and Bridget go on a magic carpet ride as they re-watch the Disney classic: Aladdin! It's a story all about how if you're a riff raff, street rat, and you don't wanna buy that, then you can just go be a diamond in the rough, find a magic lamp, enslave a magical genie, and get whatever you wanttttt in lifeeee!!! Come along as we meet Aladdin, a homeless/shoeless street rat who wants more out of life! Well so does Jasmine, a princess who's not homeless/shoeless but she feels like her life is just as hard as Aladdin's... We know, we know - she should really just get some hobbies and figure it out already! When the evil Jafar tricks Aladdin into the Cave of Wonders (run by a cool Tiger with an earring, by the way...),  it sets off a chain of events that most importantly involves meeting the magic carpet and Genie! With the help of Genie, Aladdin pretends to be a prince and lots of singing and dancing ensues! Will Aladdin find the courage to tell everyone the truth and be himself? Did A Whole New World win a shit ton of awards in 1992 including best Album of the Year at the Grammys!? Released in 1992, this Disney movie stars Scott Weinger, Robin Williams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, and Gilbert Gottfried.

Happy Full House Friday Everyone, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I conclude the SISTERS Double Feature PART 2 with Full House S5E14: Sisters in Crime, which aired on December 17, 1991. In this episode While the guys are at a hockey game, DJ is in charge, but when a hunky guy comes over and asks DJ to the movies, she agrees. Then she realizes that she has to take the girls. At the movies Stephanie spends all of her money at the concession stand, leaving DJ with no money for the tickets. So she asks Kimmy to sneak them in (Kimmy works there). The manager of the movie theater catches them and DJ has to cut the date short. Then she has to teach her sisters to lie so that she doesn't get caught. I really enjoyed this episode. Now, this Steve 1.0 we get(Scott Weinger's first appearance as Steve, only it's Steve Peters not Steve Hale, that comes in Season 6), I was not a fan of this version of Steve he just comes off as unlikeable, nothing like the heart of gold version we all know and love from Season 6-7 and Fuller House Season 1-5). It's interesting watching this episode this time around now that I work at a movie theater. I should have tried to figure how much money was spent on concessions by Stephanie and Michelle in 1991 vs. 2022. I'd say probably over $50 was spent on popcorn, drinks and snacks by 2022 costs. By 1991 costs, I'd say maybe $20 give or take and that's not including the tickets. Becky's Aunt Ida is getting spoiled by seeing the twins twice in two back to back episodes. That's probably twice more than Becky or Jesse parents. I bet anything you know Ida is bragging to Becky's mom about that. I mean this is the same woman who bought Becky the book, Wise Women, Foolish Choices (as a wedding gift). It's clear that none of Becky's family likes Jesse at all, even her cousin in Season 6 says (we all expected Rebecca to do better). I wish we could have see the charity hockey game with Danny, Joey and Jesse that would have been fun to watch. I mean Jesse constantly falling down because he can't skate (we see this in Season 6 Nice Guys Finish First), now seeing Danny on his hands and knees cleaning the slush around the goal crease since he's the goalie as pucks just slide past him into the net, I would have laughed at that. DJ got on my nerves with how selfish she was, doing whatever she had to do in order to go on her date with Steve, including pulling Stephanie away from her homework and taking a sick kid out of the house (to a movie theater no less, so many people especially kids to catch her cold). Then she has them lie on top of it so she won't get in trouble. Join me next week when we celebrate John Stamos's birthday with Full House S7E8: Another Opening, Another No Show, which aired on November 2, 1993. In this episode The Smash Club is about to open, but everything that can go wrong does: Joey books the wrong band, Kimmy gives her waitress uniform a "creative" touch, and no one can find the owner, Jesse. I hope you enjoy the episode and have a great weekend! To EMAIL The Podcast GO TO: omhcfhfhpodcast@gmail.com

Hey Full House Fans, Angela Bowen here, the host of Oh Mylanta Holy Chalupas: An Unofficial Full House Fuller House Podcast. Today, I'm covering the first episode in The Break Up Double Feature, Full House S7E13: The Perfect Couple, which aired on December 14, 1993. In this episode Joey has been hired as the host for a test-run of a new game show called The Perfect Couple, which tests couples at different stages in their relationships, to see how well they know each other. DJ and Steve are the "dating couple", Danny and Vicki are the "engaged couple", and Jesse and Rebecca are the "married couple". But as it turns out, the game starts to bring out the worst in all three relationships. This episode just like the first time I watched it when I was 11, had me in tears again. I really enjoyed going back through this episode and noticing things I didn't notice before in my previous viewings. A lot of similar color schemes clothing wise with Stephanie, Michelle and the twins, Alex wearing red, Nicky wearing blue, Michelle wearing red, Stephanie wearing blue and white, also Steve wearing blue and white. I just thought that was funny I didn't notice it till watching this episode for the podcast. Also the scene where Steve sees DJ in her room getting ready for Joey's game show after the embrace, Scott Weinger (who plays Steve) pulls back and looks down at his feet like he's making sure he's on his mark for the blocking. I really make my opinion known on how much I dislike Vicki's hair for this episode. It's like a dark brown when we're used to seeing her with auburn red hair. It just makes her hair look like a perm gone wrong. Joey hosting the game show was giving me major Jim Carrey Fire Marshall Bill from In Living Color vibes what with those fake teeth and stretched out smile. Gah! Now I will be the first to say as kid I loved Danny's proposal to Vicki and the end of Season 6 at Disney World, I mean who didn't right? Now as an adult looking back at that and seeing how Danny and Vicki would have never worked out at that point. She was career oriented, she had been she we were first introduced to her on the show in Season 5. Getting a chance of a lifetime as a news anchor in New York is a big deal, no way she was gonna give that up for settling down with Danny and the family, I mean in Season 5 when she got that job offer in Chicago, she took it. Granted she and Danny were just dating at the time but still. She was a career focused woman. Honestly, it felt like the writers were just toying with us, the viewers and Danny especially after they got engaged, if they were just going to drop the relationship, what even was the point. I can see how the marriage supposedly would have wreaked the dynamic of the show since it's supposed to be 3 guys raising three girls, but Danny deserved some happiness. Thank goodness Fuller House went in a different direction and allowed DJ and Steve to get married. Join me in two weeks, when I cover the next episode in The Break Up Double Feature, S7E19: Love on the Rocks, which aired on March 1, 1994. In this episode D.J. tells Becky that she is worried about her relationship with Steve, after Steve goes to a seminar in Los Angeles with his film class. Have a great weekend everyone! Kevin Corcoran as younger son “Moochie”, and Tommy Kirk as the lead, “Wilby”. Wilby Daniels is an awkward teenage inventor that seems to be capable of financing his best friend “Buzz”’s romantic life, but has not been able to date himself. He wants to change this when he and Buzz both catch sight of their new French neighbor Francesca, - Francesca needs to go to the local museum, so Buzz and Wilby trip over themselves to take her. While at the museum, they split up, and Wilby runs into Dr. Plumcutt, a former customer on his paper route. Dr. Plumcutt tells Wilby all about the Borgia family, their sinister reputation, and their secret dog magic. Afterward, Wilby knocks over a display of antique jewelry, only to realize that he has stolen, ahem, “acquired” a Borgia ring and smuggled it out of the museum in the cuff of his pants. Wilby reads the inscription on the ring aloud and inadvertently turns himself into a dog - which happens to be identical to Francesca’s “Bratislavan sheepdog”, Chiffon. Wilby returns to Dr. Plumcutt at the museum, who takes talking to a dog in impressive stride, and basically is told there isn’t anything he can do except perhaps an act of bravery to break the curse. Wilby switches uncontrollably back and forth between dog and boy, and manages to cause mayhem at a dance and discover a spy ring trying to steal government secrets led by none other than Francesca’s adoptive father. Through another long series of events, and the police refusing to listen to the Daniels family about the spies, and Wilby, in dog form, steals Buzz’s car and leads the police to the harbor, where the spies are escaping with Francesca in tow. Wilby tries to board the boat himself to stop them, but Francesca is knocked into the water and dog-Wilby leaps into the water and drags her to safety, breaking the curse (although no one actually realizes it, and all credit is given to Chiffon). Wilby’s dog-hating father is also commended for his role in the discovery of the spy ring, and is photographed with Chiffon for the paper - for an article about Chiffon being given a medal for bravery. ● Trivia○ The initial release of The Shaggy Dog grossed more than $9 million on a budget of less than $1 million – an almost unprecedented return on a film investment, making it more profitable than Ben-Hur, released the same year.○ This movie has been remade a few times - a 1994 TV version featuring Scott Weinger and Ed Begley Jr, which kept the same general story intact, and the aforementioned 2006 horror movie version featuring Tim Allen○ “Shaggy” was actually an Old English Sheepdog named Sam - he was a pet, and was recommended for the role by his obedience trainer, William Koehler, who trained many animals for Disney movies, including The Incredible Journey, That Darn Cat, and The Ugly Dachshund.○ Sam was prepared for the car chase scene by using rubber bands to keep his hair out of his eyes and running him around in a wheel barrow, gradually increasing the intensity and speed as he got comfortable with the situation. A custom seat was made for Sam, with fur-covered “mittens” attached to the steering wheel, and a matching fur-covered seatbelt that blended in with his body.○ Some of the stunts, such as jumping off of the boat were done by a child or a little person in a sheepdog suit. (The child was Johnny Kirk, Tommy Kirk’s little brother)○ Sam accidentally stepped onto Tim Considine’s eye during filming, and scratched it.● Segment: News/Announcements “The Newsies Banner”○ Not a real surprise, but Disney release windows are not expected to vary after the release of Disney+○ Disney released a TON of content that is going to be available on Disney+○ Maleficent: Mistress of Evil scheduled for release on October 18, 2019● Segment: Whosits and Whatsits Galore○ Disney Trivia● Segment: Top 4 Ranking “Let’s get down to business” ○ Top 4 Most Powerful Mages○ 1. 017 - This movie has it all; singing, dancing, a bird with human teeth - yes it's the 1992 Disney animated feature, Aladdin. With the reboot hitting our screens this week, we figured we would get topical and go back to the beginning. What goes into making the highest grossing movie of 1992? Take an Arabian tale from the year 1000, add a little Robin Williams, DJ's boyfriend from Full House, add a few bangers with a dash of racism, and you got yourself a picture - That's Hollywood, baby.

Let's get down to business and show you the world. In this episode of the Spiraken Movie review, Xan and Jacqie finish off the theme month of Family, Fantasy, and Fantastic Pixie Dust with not one but two great films from Walt Disney. Both of these movies have action, adventure, romance and an unlikely hero. The first is the great chinese biography "Mulan" directed by Barry Cook and starring Ming-Na Wen, Eddie Murphy, BD Wong, Miguel Ferrer, Harvey Fierstein, June Foray, George Takei & Pat Morita. ----more----The other is a personal favorite of Xan's based on the famous arabic folktale One Thousand and One Nights. So also enjoy as Jaxie and Xan review Disney's "Aladdin"directed by Ron Clements and starring Scott Weinger, Robin WIliams, Linda Larkin, Jonathan Freeman, Frank Welker, Gilbert Gottfried and Douglas Seale There is discussion on the original source material of these films, the addictive nature of the songs and how much we miss Robin Williams.
