Award-winning writer, producer and director, Ruán Magan’s recent credits include The Irish Revolution Narrated by Cillian Murphy,  the critically acclaimed comedy drama series, Wrecking The Rising; 1916 – The Irish Rebellion, the multi-award winning documentary narrated by Liam Neeson, which reached audiences of 40 million worldwide during 2016 and the play, And Spring Shall Come, play exploring WW1 through poetry. He directed The Men Who Built America (Double Emmy-winner), Waterloo’s Warriors, (Gold Prize at World Media Awards 2016) and Angel, (winner Milan International Film Festival 2013) and edited and produced Banaz – A Love Story (Emmy winner and Peabody Award winner 2013). Paul Duane is an Irish-born writer and director of television and film. Has directed television programmes including:  Ballykissangel, Casualty, The Royal, Small Potatoes, Footballer's Wives  He has also made several short films including LSD 73!, based on an original script by the Irish novelist Patrick McCabe. More recently he co-created the ITV series Secret Diary of a Call Girl based on the well-known blog, Belle de Jour. The Irish production company Screenworks was established by Paul Duane and Rob Cawley in 2008\. Their first production, Barbaric Genius, on the life of the London-Irish author John Healy premiered in February 2011. Recent films include Very Extremely Dangerous and Natan, about the French producer Bernard Natan. His latest Documentary Film "What Time is Death?" was screened at this years Virgin Media Dublin Film Festival.  In December 2013 he was listed by Variety (magazine) Nick Franco: Producer  Nick set up 1185 films in 2003 and has worked across a range of genres as director and producer. His organizational skills with crews & shoots have been in great demand for people planning difficult jobs in Africa & Eastern Europe, and his understanding of post-production allows him to know better than many producers how to create a sensible & economic workflow from the shoot to the finished DCP. On this Episode Fni WrapChat on the Headstuff Podcast Network is Festival Manager of the Dublin Virgin Media Film Festival Grainne Humphreys. Grainne Humphreys has worked in film programming for over twenty years, she started her career working with young audiences with the Junior Dublin Film Festival in 1994\. In 1995, she joined the IFI as Education Officer and expanded her role to include programming seasons on Andy Warhol, Agnes Varda and Harold Pinter. She was became Assistant Director in 2001 and programmed both the Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Festival and the Dublin French Film Festival from 2002- 2007\. Among other project, she co-edited Ireland into Film, a series of publication on a number of key Irish films. She has served as a jury member on a number of international film festivals and has coordinated a number of Irish film seasons at international events. She is a Board Member of the Centre Culturel Irlandais in Paris and has been Festival Director of the Dublin International Film Festival since 2007. Viko Nikci is a Director and writer, known for Coming Home (2014), Cellar Door (2018).  Viko has been on film sets since his teenage years in New York. This experience lead to  the short film Take it Back – which led to over a hundred festival screenings. As a Director, Viko’s feature documentary COMING HOME – premiered at the Galway Film Fleadh, where it won Best Documentary and the Amnesty International Award for Best Human Rights Documentary.  His first narrative feature Cellar Door (2018) with Samson Films was screened at the Galway film Feadth and subsequently won best Irish First Feature in 2018\. On the very first Episode of FNI Wrapchat of 2019 on the Headstuff Podcast Network is Director and Producer at Failsafe Films Ian Hunt Duffy. Ian’s first love is genre cinema and he strives to make movies that will grip an audience and keep them guessing. Having graduated from The National Film School in Ireland Ian established Failsafe Films in Dublin, producing the IFTA Nominated and Academy Award longlisted ‘Love is a Sting’ in 2015, written by Academy Award winner Benjamin Cleary. Ian’s short film ‘Gridlock’ has won 48 awards to date, including Best Director at the Savannah International Film Festival, Best International Short Film at DC Shorts, and a Young Director Award (YDA) in Cannes. Ian has also been nominated for this years Virgin Media Dublin Film Festival Discovery Award 2019. In 2018, Ian took part in the prestigious Berlinale Talents in Germany as a director, being the only Irish filmmaker chosen amongst 250 candidates from 81 countries. Since then, Ian has successfully received funding from Screen Ireland for his two latest projects- his new short film ‘Low Tide’, and development funding for his debut feature film ‘Double Blind’. Coming up on the FORTY SECOND ep of Fni Wrapchat is the Amazing O'Flanagan Sisters. Mary-Kate and Rachel.  Rachel is a story consultant who works across the business and arts industries. She works with teams and individuals in Ireland, the UK and Germany to develop visual storytelling and audience engagement. She has worked on a wide range of television and film productions ensuring that scripts communicate the writer’s vision, connect with audiences and achieve commercial, as well as artistic, success. Rachel works with her sister and colleague Mary Kate as A Dramatic Improvement and they have designed and delivered training workshops in visual storytelling for the Irish Writers Centre; Film Base; Screen Training Ireland and the advertising industry via IAPI. In 2014/2015 they were lead tutors and writing mentors at Y Labordy an initiative funded by S4C, Film Wales Literature Wales and the Royal Theatre of Wales Rachel and Mary Kate design and deliver workshops exploring the applications of storytelling in business. They are particularly interested in the role of storytelling in leadership, branding, change management, team building and knowledge transfer. They are uniquely positioned to build bridges between the skills of storytelling and the needs of businesses to connect with their audiences. Mary Kate O’Flanagan Mary Kate trained in the craft of screenwriting with the professors of screenwriting at The University of Southern California. She has worked as a tutor alongside her former professors for the last ten years. She has continued to be mentored by them, in particular David Howard, author of The Tools of Screenwriting. She is a guest tutor at the Czech Film School FAMU and The National Film School in Ireland as well as a lead tutor on pan-European programmes. In the last year she has given intensive workshops and lectures on screenwriting in Prague, London, Cologne, Pilzen, Valletta as well as Dublin, Cork and Galway. She has also given workshops in Africa. She specialises in giving in-depth training to aspiring screenwriters from diverse backgrounds. Mary Kate is a working writer who has written six feature-length screenplays, all of which have been funded by The Irish Film Board and subsequently optioned, currently in development. She holds an MA in Screenwriting, has won pan-European awards for her screenwriting, is a published short story writer and Ireland’s Grand Slam Champion Storyteller at The Moth. Mary Kate is also a Grand Slam Champion Storyteller at THe Moth in LA. Luke Morgan is an Irish director and writer. He is a founder of both “the Theatre Room Galway” and the filmmaking collective “Project Spatula”. His short films have screened at a variety of festivals, including the Galway Film Fleadh (2015), The Cork Film Festival (2016), Richard Harris International Film Festival (2014, 2016), the Polish International Film Festival (2016) and the Short Film Corner at Cannes Film Festival (both 2015 and 2016). As a writer, he has sold two feature-length screenplays to production companies. His debut poetry collection “Honest Walls” was published in 2016\. He was one of the storyliners for Ros na Rún’s 21st season finale (TG4). He co runs Project Spatula with his Brother Jake. This year the collective made their first feature - Sooner or Later, which has premiered at The Galway Film Fleadh and went on to screen at The Cork Film Festival. Jake Morgan is an emerging composer and conductor from Galway who specialises in creating original music and audio for film, theatre, and video games. He studied composition and sound design at The Royal Irish Academy of Music and Windmill Lane Studios, Dublin. This year, Morgan is pursuing his masters degree in Composition for Screen from the University of Edinburgh. Jake has been commissioned to write original concert music for many orchestras world-wide, including; The Harbin Symphony Orchestra, Plovdiv Philharmonic orchestra, Sofia Sinfonietta, Varna Radio Orchestra, Gamelan Nua and the Galway Senior Youth Orchestra, as well as smaller chamber ensembles of many varieties.
