România anilor '90 a fost marcată de inflație galopantă, de sărăcie și sărăcire, pierderea locurilor de muncă, lipsuri, instabilitate și imprevizibilitate. Într-un asemenea context a explodat fenomenul cămătăriei. Cei care împrumutau oamenii cereau dobînzi exorbitante și dacă nu-și primeau înapoi banii și dobînzile cerute, îi terorizau pe datornici, îi agresau și le confiscau casele, bunurile, lăsîndu-i pe drumuri. Despre violențele acelei perioade de tranziție și fenomenul cămătăriei vorbim cu Anghel Damian, regizorul documentarului „Cămătarii” (PRO TV şi VOYO), şi psihologa criminalistă Leliana Pârvulescu.Care era atmosfera anilor '90, ce speranțe, ce așteptări aveau oamenii și cum au reacționat, de fapt, la instabilitatea economică, la pierderea locurilor de muncă și la tot haosul care s-a creat în societate după căderea comunismului?Anghel Damian: „În mod cert, anii aceia au însemnat un soi de speranță pentru românii care au ieșit de sub jugul comunist, că lumea se va transforma înspre bine. Speranță care s-a năruit foarte repede, pentru că, imediat au început toate acele mișcări sociale, mineriadele, inflația galopantă, lipsa locurilor de muncă, falimentele, privatizările forțate, primele guverne. Și, în paralel, a existat și un mini-exod al românilor care au plecat în străinătate. Foarte puțini dintre ei ca să își găsească un loc, ci mai degrabă să aducă bunuri din afară, să înceapă să facă un soi de comerț mai mult sau mai puțin legal. Celebra bișniță. Plus o altă comunitate de români care a plecat din țară, foști infractori, o comunitate care a plecat în speranța că va descoperi tărîmuri mult mai bogate decît cele de la noi, unde cazuistica pentru tipul acela de infracționalitate era extrem de redusă și unde infracțiunile erau pedepsite mult mai lejer față de codul penal românesc din comunism.”În anii '90, multe averi s-au făcut pe fondul vidului de putere și în contextul unor legi neclare. Proprietatea însăși, de stat sau privată, avea un statut incert. Statul era slab, cu instituții fragile. În lumea asta cu reguli fluide, ce era afacere și unde începea infracționalitatea organizată? Anghel Damian: „Avem chiar afirmația unui celebru politician de astăzi, lider de partid, care a declarat extrem de lejer că, practic, începuturile lui în afaceri au fost acele business-uri la negru, unde evaziunea fiscală era în floare. Deci, dacă sîntem reprezentați la cel mai înalt nivel statal de niște indivizi care își recunosc aceste fapte cu lejeritate, vă dați seama cam cît de mare era fenomenul. Practic, a ajuns aproape de un soi de mitologie populară. Dom'le, așa erau timpurile. Era normal. Se făcea la negru, nu se fiscaliza, nu se încasa, plăteai o șpagă, controalele erau pe șpagă. Și este un tip de comportament pe care nu mai ai cum să-l oprești în a se perpetua, dacă tu îl accepţi ca fiind parte din mitologia asta populară. El, practic, atunci a început să se dezvolte.”Cum ar trebui să înțelegem astăzi, retrospectiv, această intersecție între lumea afacerilor și lumea infracționalității? Leliana Pârvulescu: „Era nevoie de o autoritate, pentru că exista un gol, un vid imens. Nu existau reguli clare, nu existau valori clare, nu existau proceduri clare. Și atunci, evident că în acest vid, oamenii își doreau să existe o autoritate sau, psihologic vorbind, își doreau să vadă pe cineva puternic. Și ca urmare, a fost foarte ușor pentru cei care aveau abilitățile necesare, poate oportunitățile, cunoștințele, să poată să escaladeze și să ajungă în aceste poziții, prin care să exprime autoritate, indiferent că o exprimau prin ceea ce făceau în mod legal sau că o exprimau prin ceea ce făceau în mod ilegal. A fost cea mai prolifică perioadă pentru a manifesta această autoritate în mod ilegal, pentru că oamenii sînt obișnuiți prin natura lor biologică și fiziologică să glamurizeze, să se uite foarte frumos la putere, la oamenii puternici.”Există o fascinație pe care o exercită figurile infractorilor, unii oameni îi privesc pe cei mai mari infractori ca pe niște eroi, îi consideră pe capii grupărilor interlope modele de succes, simboluri ale puterii. De ce, de unde această fascinație pentru rău?Leliana Pârvulescu: „Sînt două aspecte aici pe care putem să le amintim. În primul rînd există glamurizarea băiatului rău, a infractorului, a omului rău, pentru că el deține puterea, deține carisma, deține inteligența. Și al doilea aspect este legat de hibristofilie. Este un sindrom care există la om din punct de vedere genetic și biologic. Cu toții manifestăm acest sindrom, mai accentuat sau mai puțin accentuat, dar el există pentru că noi, prin genetica noastră și prin natura noastră de oameni, sîntem atrași sau sîntem focusați pe lucrurile rele, pentru că lucrurile rele, din punct de vedere evolutiv, ne pot face rău. Și atunci acest fenomen, hibristofilie, este prezent la fiecare și în momentul în care nu există atît de mult inhibitor, se manifestă foarte, foarte accentuat.”Dar cum facem totuși să nu-i transformăm în eroi pe acești oameni care au făcut lucruri abominabile? Leliana Pârvulescu: „Gîndindu-ne foarte clar: ce îmi iau eu de aici, ce văd eu aici, la ce mă uit? Și dacă îl transform într-o poveste din care pot să-mi iau elemente de educație, de conștientizare, atunci – depinde de fiecare cum privește –, cu siguranță putem să trecem peste aceste aspecte și să ne uităm și să ne luăm exact ceea ce avem nevoie.”În primele două episoade îi vedem pe frații Ion și Vasile Balint, cunoscuți sub poreclele Nuțu și Sile Cămătaru, povestindu-și viața și faptele pentru care au fost condamnați în mai multe rînduri, de la tîlhării pînă la violență fizică. Nu pare că au vreun regret pentru suferința pe care au provocat-o. Nu credeți că există riscul ca o parte din public să cadă exact în fascinația despre care vorbeam, să fie sedus de aceste figuri tocmai pentru felul în care vorbesc despre faptele lor abominabile ca despre niște fapte de vitejie? Anghel Damian: „Aici intervine întotdeauna, totuși, conștiința proprie și spiritul critic. Evident că întotdeauna există un risc cînd expui un infractor condamnat, un criminal și îi dai, să zicem, o platformă. Pe de altă parte, sînt convins că, dacă reperele morale sînt corecte, sînt bine așezate, aceste lucruri vor trezi o reacție de revoltă și de respingere. În mod cert, educația nu o face documentaristul. Educația este, o dată, obligație statală, după care este obligația fiecărui părinte. Pînă la urmă, sînt chestiuni pe care trebuie să le judecăm cu propria noastră conștiință și minte. Este o situație în care eu ofer o platformă de gîndire, îi cer spectatorului să se poziționeze, ofer perspectivele asupra acestor întîmplări. Evident, ele sînt foarte dure, dar tocmai această duritate are scopul de a trezi în tine o conștiință: că aceste lucruri sînt greșite.”În primele două episoade nu am auzit vocea, povestea nici unei victime a fraților Cămătaru. De ce?Anghel Damian: „Există perspectiva lor în documentar, la momentele potrivite. Au fost și cazuri în care noi am căutat aceste victime și am găsit niște persoane care sînt într-o cu totul altă situație de viață și familială și au refuzat să își expună trauma. E o situație destul de delicată și aici vorbim de un tip de deontologie profesională în momentul în care tu exploatezi o traumă pentru acest documentar. Dar perspectiva victimelor există și va fi în anumite situații. De exemplu, în episodul al treilea din documentar avem mărturiile din dosar ale fetelor traficate, avem perspectiva procurorului despre aceste fete traficate. Documente confidențiale dezvăluite de publicația FIP din Armenia arată felul în care Kremlinul coordonează campaniile de influență ale unor actori ruși în țări europene. Printre numele amintite în investigație se află și cel al fostului deputat PSD și șef al Comisiei SRI, Sebastian Ghiță, patron al postului RomâniaTV. Dar lista de acțiuni este cu mult mai lungă, iar campaniile sunt răspândite peste tot în Europa. Publicația din Armenia, a cărei denumire completă este Platforma de Investigare a Faptelor, se află în posesia unui mare număr de fișiere confidențiale obținute ca urmare a unui hacking. Acestea includ documente, corespondență, capturi de ecran, rapoarte, planuri și alte materiale de la Agenția de Design Social (SDA), care funcționează sub supravegherea de facto a lui Sergei Kiriyenko, adjunctul șefului de cabinet al Administrației Prezidențiale Ruse. Despre acesta știm că a fost desemnat, printre altele, să se ocupe de alegerile parlamentare din Republica Moldova, din toamna anului trecut – și mai știm că și-a ratat obiectivul de a facilita venirea la guvernare a forțelor pro-ruse. Cât despre Sebastian Ghiță, acesta este amintit în contextul unor acțiuni îndreptate împotriva președintei Maia Sandu. Ce înseamnă (Expert) În țările europene, acțiunile au avut ca scop principal să genereze îndeosebi furie față de migranți și față de Ucraina Campaniile sprijină forțele de extremă dreapta și răspândesc alte narațiuni pro-ruse. Acțiuni semnificative au avut ca scop discreditarea președintelui Ucrainei Volodimir Zelenski, prim-ministrului Armeniei Nikol Pașinian și președintei Republicii Moldova, Maia Sandu. Franța: acțiuni anti-musulmane și antievreiești Dintre multiplele acțiuni desfășurate în Franța, să o amintim doar pe cea a capetelor de porc aruncate în apropierea mai multor moschei, în septembrie 2025. Documentele arată că fusese o acțiune comandată de la Kremlin. La fel ca și pulverizarea de vopsea verde, asociată cu Islamul, la intrările a trei sinagogi, un restaurant evreiesc și alte locuri frecventate de evrei. Evident, scopul acțiunilor, fie împotriva musulmanilor, fie a evreilor, este, desigur, amplificarea tensiunilor inter-religioase, pe pământ francez. Printre acțiunile planificate, dar (cel puțin nu încă) implementate în Franța se numără operațiunea "General”. Anumite persoane urmau să se prezinte ca trimiși ai primei doamne a Ukrainei, Olena Zelenskaya, pentru înființarea unei fundații. Citeste siReacţii de indignare după descoperirea mai multor capete de porc în fața unor moschei din Ile-de-France Alții urmau să profaneze statuia lui Charles de Gaulle, scriind pe ea "Glorie Ukrainei". Participanții ar fi trebuit să declare că era un răspuns la declarațiile pro-ruse ale nepotului lui Charles de Gaulle. O altă operațiune viza desfășurarea în Franța a circa 500 de mașini de lux cărora urma să li de atașeze numere ucrainene, pentru a fi fotografiate. Potrivit documentelor, agenții ruși au concluzionat că taxa pentru mașinile foarte scumpe (Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Ferrari etc.) ar fi semnificativ mai mare decât se estimase initial. În Germania operațiunile au fost deosebit de active în timpul alegerilor parlamentare din 2025, arată documentele. In Deuteronomy 27:2-8 we read of how Moses instructed Joshua to build an altar on Mt. Ebal after the Israelites had entered the Promised Land. There, the people were to sacrifice and give thanks to the Lord.Bible critics have generally been skeptical of the Bible's early history of Israel's conquest of Canaan. Over the years, however, a growing number of discoveries have supported the Bible's account of the earliest history of the Israelites. Perhaps one of the most dramatic recent discoveries is the altar Joshua apparently built on Mt. Ebal after Israel entered Canaan.The ruins of the altar are laid out in a rectangle that measures 25 by 30 feet. The walls of the nine-foot-high structure of uncut stones and rocks are filled with ash, dirt, stones, and bones. Over 4,000 bones were found in the fill, all of them bones of the sacrificial animals called for in Moses' law. Evident, too, is the ramp up to the altar that was used by the priests, as stipulated by Exodus. One discovery at the site seems to tie everything together. It is an Egyptian scarab that was probably among the spoils the Bible says Israel took with them from Egypt.Bible-believing Christians don't need this proof to accept the Bible. But it is exciting to identify and learn more about such a historic place as the Mt. De mai bine de un deceniu, rapoartele internaționale semnalează un recul al democrației și al drepturilor omului la nivel global. Libertățile civile se restrîng, spațiul public devine mai controlat, iar siguranța publică e folosită drept justificare pentru măsuri care, pînă nu demult, ar fi fost considerate inacceptabile. Nu vorbim doar despre dictaturi sau despre regimuri autoritare, ci despre o tendință mai largă, care afectează inclusiv state democratice: drepturile încep să se erodeze sub presiunea securității. Recent, în Knesset (Parlamentul israelian) a fost votată o lege care instituie pedeapsa cu moartea pentru palestinienii condamnați pentru atacuri mortale împotriva israelienilor. Legea prevede că palestinienii condamnați de instanțele militare pentru comiterea de atacuri mortale considerate „acte de terorism” vor fi executați prin spînzurare în termen de 90 de zile. Ce înseamnă această revenire la pedeapsa capitală ca instrument de politică penală? L-am întrebat pe analistul Mihail-Valentin Cernea, lector la Academia de Studii Economice, unde predă filosofie. Vedem tot mai des cum securitatea e invocată  pentru a justifica urgența unor legi liberticide. Unde e linia de demarcație între o măsură legitimă de securitate și un abuz de putere?Mihail-Valentin Cernea: „În primul rînd nu e neapărat un fenomen nou. În general, de-a lungul istoriei, restrîngerile pentru ce libertăți au fost acordate într-o epocă sau alta, apăreau în general din motive de securitate sau din motive de război. Evident că guvernele au folosit motivele de securitate și pentru a provoca restrîngeri care erau mai degrabă în interesul guvernului decît în interesul cetățenilor. Deci nu sîntem neapărat într-o situație nouă. Am fi putut purta această conversație și după 2001, după atacurile din 11 septembrie, cînd au început deja anumite măsuri în Statele Unite, de exemplu, care frizau încălcarea drepturilor omului.”Din perspectiva standardelor democratice și a drepturilor omului în Israel, unde situați democrația israeliană în acest moment?Mihail-Valentin Cernea: „Într-un punct foarte dificil din istoria ei. Și nu e doar legat de această lege. E foarte grav cînd o societate ajunge să reaprobe pedeapsa cu moartea. Văd de multe ori discuțiile acestea și în spațiul public românesc și tot timpul mă îngrijorează. Pentru că a accepta pedeapsa cu moartea, în esență, înseamnă că îi dai statului posibilitatea să-și execute propriii cetățeni, după procedurile statului. Evident, știm foarte bine că există erori judiciare. Ce facem atunci cînd îi cerem statului să execute oameni pentru varii crime? Facem două lucruri. În primul rînd, încălcăm contractul social dintre cetățeni și stat, pentru că, într-un fel sau altul, statul se angajează pentru siguranța cetățeanului atunci cînd e în grija statului. Atenție, o persoană care este executată se află în grijă statului în acea perioadă. Și, în al doilea rînd, ne asumăm acest risc, că vom executa oameni nevinovați. Noi, ca societate, nu doar statul, de data asta, pentru că, într-o situație în care readucem pedapsa cu moartea, sîntem de acord cu ea, este votată democratic, asta înseamnă că există un consens public în această direcție.
