The boys are pleasantly surprised by the Uncanny X-men #1; they talk about the potential D-23 news; but most importantly, they celebrate the Paris Olympics in the only way they know how: by talking about the X-men; things get weird in their recap of X-men: Evolution S1E5 "Speed and Spyke"; then there's issues: X-Men: From the Ashes Infinity #9, Avengers #17, and Ultimate Black Panther #7; and some pluggos. Call this episode dressage because we don't know what's going on and there's a lot more horses than we expected!

Comic Book Herald's Dave Buesing joins the show to discuss the past, present, and future of the X-Men. Buesing discusses what Comic Book Herald is all about, the importance of helping people find where to start, how the experience has shifted his views on comics, our takes on the Krakoa Era, how it'll be viewed in retrospect, our expectations for the Tom Brevoort Era of the X-Men, and more, before we get into our X-Men Fantasy Draft, during which we both cast the comics we predict will be part of the line versus the titles we want to see, but also chat about why Uncanny X-Men is certain to return, which Krakoan had the biggest glow up, how Marvel Unlimited fits, getting trapped in expectations, and much more.

DIE Wrap-up with Kieron Gillen Kieron Gillen first came to attention as a comic creator with his 2006's Phonogram, with Jamie McKelvie. Jamie and he formed into a gestalt monster that rampaged against the next fifteen years of comics, culminating with critical and smash hit the Wicked + the Divine. When not with Jamie, he has co-created books such as DIE, The Ludocrats, Once & Future, Three, Uber and more. When not making his own worlds, he has worked on Marvel Comics biggest books, such as Uncanny X-men, Young Avengers, Thor, Iron Man, Star Wars, Eternals and Darth Vader, (where he co-created Doctor Aphra). In a previous life he was an award winning pop-culture critic and journalist, and co-founder of Rock Paper Shotgun. The best way to keep up to date with what he's doing is his newsletter. He hates writing about himself in the third person, yet somehow he perseveres. BabPod:DIE was a production of the Okay, So network. Matt Fraction and Word Balloon host John Siuntres have a last call conversation about the books he's wrapping up, and the ones that are just beginning. From this week's debut of The Invincible Iron Man, to his wrap ups of The Orderand The Immortal Iron Fist, from co-writing the Uncanny X-men with Ed Brubaker, to wrapping up the current arc of his Image creator owned book Casanova. During the conversation Fraction said there is an eventual end insight for his run on Punisher War Journal, after which he'll turn the book over to his pal, and current co-writer Rick Remender.Fraction discussed the road ahead, starting with the current Jigsaw arc."We're at payoff time for Punisher... I knew coming this book I knew right away if you're going to make your stand on Punisher do the ultimate Jigsaw story... Working with Rick Remender has been a dream and has made the book sicker and more damaged and explosive than I ever thought. If we could make a punisher movie, it would be this story." "After the Jigsaw arc, there's a little secret invasion tie-in and then an arc called King Frank...the Jigsaw arc and King Frank story is wheremy bruns been leading to from the beginning. After "King Frank" I'llstep aside, and just let Rick tear it up. That's the plan, things might change, but that's the plan."Some other highlights from the audio interview...On The Invincible Iron Man, Fraction was pleased that the book ended up matching so well with the film, so new readers can jump on. "I had no advanced script to work from so it was me trying to write the type of iron man comic that I hoped would fit with the tone of the film." On bringing the threat of young Ezekiel Stane from the Order to the first IM story arc .

What's up, dudes? Here's something a little different! I've got Little #1 here (with Littles #2-3 doing some sound effects) to give a quick outline of a short Christmas story we wrote back when she was a 4yro. She barely remembers writing it even though most of it was her idea. I just tightened up the story a bit and threw in a few ‘80s bits. Anyway, hope you enjoy this quick minisode!
