Episode 263 - When a Dad Runs on Fumes - where life stops feeling manageable and starts feeling like survivalWhen a Dad Runs on FumesThere comes a point for a lot of fathers where life stops feeling manageable and starts feeling like survival. You wake up tired. You go to work tired. You come home mentally checked out. The bills keep coming, the expectations never seem to slow down, and somewhere along the way you stop recognizing yourself. You become short-tempered. Detached. Quiet. Angry at things that normally would not bother you. Sometimes you feel lonely even while sitting in a room full of people you love.A lot of dads carry this silently because they believe they are supposed to.You are supposed to be dependable. Stable. Strong. The problem is that strength without support eventually turns into exhaustion. Many fathers are wrestling with pressures they never fully talk about:Financial stressFear about the futureFeeling stuck in work that drains themRelationship tensionLosing connection with friendsFeeling invisible unless they are providing somethingCarrying responsibility without feeling appreciatedWondering if they are failing their familyThat emotional weight builds slowly. It does not usually explode overnight. It leaks out through frustration, numbness, anger, isolation, or shutting down emotionally. The dangerous part is that many dads normalize it.They tell themselves: “This is just adulthood.” “This is what being a father is.” “I just need to push harder.”But running on fumes is not sustainable. Eventually something gives. Your health, your relationships, your patience, or your sense of purpose. The Reality Most Dads Need to HearYou do not have to earn the right to rest. You do not have to completely fall apart before asking for help. And you are not weak for admitting that life feels heavy right now.A father who acknowledges he is struggling is not failing. He is being honest enough to stop the damage before it spreads further into his family, his marriage, and himself. How to Start Turning Things Around1. Stop trying to solve your entire future at onceWhen dads hit a low point, the future can feel terrifying.Career uncertainty. Aging parents. Kids growing up. Financial pressure. Retirement worries. Regret over missed opportunities. The mind starts sprinting years ahead while your body is barely surviving today.Instead of trying to solve the next ten years, focus on stabilizing the next few days.Get sleep where you can. Eat real meals. Go outside. Move your body. Reduce one source of chaos. Handle one overdue task. Small wins matter when your mind feels overwhelmed.Momentum returns slowly.2. Talk to someone before resentment hardensLoneliness in fathers often comes from silence. Many men only talk about logistics: Work. Schedules. Repairs. Responsibilities. But very few talk honestly about fear, disappointment, exhaustion, or emotional burnout. That isolation becomes dangerous because unspoken pain usually transforms into anger.Find one trusted person:A friendA brotherA counselorAnother dadYour spouseNot to “fix” you. Just to hear you honestly.Sometimes saying “I'm not doing well right now” is the first real turning point.3. Separate exhaustion from identityA bad season can convince a dad that he is a bad father, bad husband, or bad man. That is rarely true.Exhaustion distorts perspective.A burned out brain starts interpreting everything through failure: “I'm behind.” “I'm not enough.” “My family deserves better.”But often what your family actually needs is not perfection. They need presence. Patience. Connection. Honesty.Kids do not remember whether you had everything figured out. They remember whether you were emotionally available.4. Rebuild something that belongs to youA lot of dads lose themselves completely inside responsibility.Every hour belongs to work, family, errands, or obligations. At some point you stop being a person and start feeling like a machine. You need something that reconnects you to yourself:Working outReadingMusicPodcastingWritingWalkingFishingBuilding thingsFaithCreativityNot because it is productive. Because it reminds you that you still exist outside of stress.5. Accept that life may not get easier overnightSome realities cannot be instantly fixed.Work may still be difficult. Money may still be tight. The future may still feel uncertain. But your ability to carry those realities changes when you stop carrying them alone and stop pretending you are invincible.Strength is not about never struggling. It is about refusing to stay buried in silence.A Message to Dads Sitting in the Dark Right NowIf you are exhausted, angry, emotionally numb, or quietly losing hope, you are not the only father feeling this way.More dads are struggling than most people realize. The important thing is recognizing the difference between being tired and giving up.You may need rest. You may need support. You may need to make changes. You may need to forgive yourself for not being able to carry everything perfectly. But this low point does not have to become your permanent identity.Sometimes the strongest thing a father can do is admit: “I can't keep living like this.”That honesty is not weakness. That is the beginning of rebuilding.___https://dadspace.caLeave Dave a voice message here! Guest Introduction Bill Crawley is the Founder and CEO of Advark AI. He's been an entrepreneur since childhood, has built and sold multiple companies, and now focuses on helping small business owners market with clarity—without needing to become marketers themselves. Key Discussion Themes Why marketing feels like “who can spend the most on Google” (and what to do about it) How Advark AI guides owners to choose platforms, set budgets, and adjust based on performance The “sweet spot” for ad spend—and why under-spending and over-spending both hurt Consistency vs. random spending: why “throwing extra cash into ads” doesn't work Advice that sticks: direction beats effort (and why digging harder doesn't help if there's no water) Listener Takeaway If your marketing is inconsistent, it's going to feel like a money pit—even if the channel can work. Find a reasonable spend level, stick with it long enough to learn, and measure what's actually happening so you can adjust with confidence. This week on The Rotten Horror Picture Show Podcast, Clay and Amanda revisit the sleek, anxiety-inducing franchise starter Final Destination (2000), the film that taught an entire generation that death doesn't need a face—just a plan. Centered on a premonition of a catastrophic plane crash and the survivors who think they've cheated fate, the movie spins a clever web of inevitability, paranoia, and elaborate, Rube Goldberg-style demises. Clay and Amanda dig into what makes the concept so enduring, how it launched a long-running series, and why everyday objects have never felt quite as trustworthy since. Now, I want to make something clear: I'm not afraid of flying. Turbulence? Fine. Takeoff? Thrilling. The idea that I might be part of some elaborate cosmic design where a loose carry-on bag leads to my doom? Manageable. What I am afraid of—what truly fills me with dread—is children on planes. You know the ones. The seat-kickers. The tray-table slammers. The ones who discover, mid-flight, that their lungs are capable of sustained, high-pitched wailing for three straight hours. You can talk about Death's grand design all you want, but try surviving a cross-country flight with a kid repeatedly asking “Are we there yet?” directly into your soul. That's the real test.So while Clay and Amanda break down the terrifying brilliance of Final Destination, I'm sitting here thinking: sure, avoiding a plane explosion is great, but what about avoiding Row 18, Seat B, next to a sugar-fueled toddler with a juice box and no concept of personal space?Still, it's a fantastic episode about a movie that redefined horror for the 2000s. Just remember—Death might be everywhere… but so are kids with sticky hands and unlimited energy. Choose your fear wisely. And be sure to fly on over to patreon.com/thepenskyfile to follow Clay and Amanda as they cover a year of sequels, including Final Destination 2!
Low Aim has nothing to do with dating “down” in looks, money, status, or public rank. Low Aim begins when a person chooses beneath their own capacity for truth, growth, intimacy, and transformation. The manageable partner becomes attractive not because love recognized them, but because fear calculated them. They appear safer because they demand less evolution, expose fewer contradictions, threaten fewer defenses, and allow the old self to remain in power. What many call peace may actually be reduced challenge. What many call chemistry may be attraction to leverage. What many call maturity may simply be controlled stagnation dressed in healing language. Hypergamy complicates this further: some people date up socially while dating down psychologically—selecting status, income, beauty, clout, or lifestyle elevation while choosing a partner emotionally shallow enough to manage. The outside rises while the inside shrinks. Men do it. Women do it. Different costumes, same mechanism. The real modern dating question may not be “Who upgrades my life?” but “Who permits me to remain unchanged?” Wherever that answer guides selection, Low Aim has already begun.
There is a humility that we speak about. And there is a humility that is given. The first is clean. Understandable. Manageable. The second is devastating. Saint Isaac does not speak of an idea. He speaks of a man who has seen something in himself, not once, but repeatedly, until illusion collapses. “A man who has reached this in truth and not in fancy…” This is the dividing line. Most of what we call humility is still fantasy. A posture. A tone. A self-perception. But true humility is born only when a man has been brought face to face with his own instability, his own powerlessness, his own inability to sustain even the smallest good without God. Not conceptually. Existentially. ⸻ This is why Isaac says that everything begins with the recognition of one's weakness. Not as an idea. But as a state of being. A man comes to see that he cannot hold himself together. He cannot secure his own heart. He cannot even pray without distraction, without resistance, without collapse. And from this recognition, something begins to cry out. Not beautifully. Not eloquently. But desperately. Out of need. Out of poverty. Out of a knowledge that if God does not draw near, he will fall apart. This is the beginning of real prayer. Not devotion. Dependence. ⸻ And yet here is the scandal. God does not always respond as we expect. He draws near . . . yes. But not always by removing the trial. Not always by granting the request. Sometimes He withholds. Not out of indifference, but out of wisdom. Because the very delay becomes the means by which the soul is held near Him. Isaac dares to say that God defers His help so that the man will not depart. So that he will remain in prayer. Remain in need. Remain in proximity. This is not cruelty. It is a love that refuses to let the soul return to self-sufficiency. ⸻ And more troubling still: God permits temptation. Not always. But at times. The assault comes. The fire burns. The instability is exposed again. And the man cries out: Why? Why does God not remove this? Why does He allow this struggle to continue? Isaac answers with a severity we would rather avoid: So that you may learn war. So that you may be instructed. So that you may know. Not in theory, but in experience; that without Him, you are nothing. ⸻ This is where humility is forged. Not in peace. But in exposure. Not in success. But in repeated failure. Not in clarity. But in the confusion of being unable to sustain oneself. The man who does not know this, Isaac says, walks on a razor's edge. He may appear stable. Even virtuous. But he stands near the lion. The demon of pride. Because without the knowledge of one's weakness, the soul inevitably attributes its stability to itself. And this is the beginning of the fall. ⸻ Humility cannot be acquired directly. It cannot be chosen as a virtue. It must be given through conditions that undo the illusion of strength. Through delay. Through struggle. Through temptation. Through the repeated discovery that one is not what one thought. This is why Isaac says that humility is acquired only by humility's own means. Which is to say: By being brought low. By being shown the truth. By having the inner architecture of conceit quietly dismantled. ⸻ And here the most piercing word emerges. Without humility, a man's work is not perfected. Even if it appears good. Even if it appears fruitful. It does not rise above fear. It is not sealed by the Spirit. It remains within the realm of the self. Unstable. Vulnerable. Unfounded. Because only humility forms the foundation that cannot be shaken. A city built on humility stands. A life built on anything else trembles. ⸻ And so we must ask: What if the very things we are trying to escape, the delay, the dryness, the temptation, the instability, are the very means by which God is drawing us near? What if the unanswered prayer is the mercy? What if the struggle that does not cease is the protection? What if the exposure of our weakness is the only way we will ever become real? ⸻ We want relief. God desires communion. We want stability. God gives us Himself. And He will not allow us to possess Him as long as we believe we can stand without Him. ⸻ The widow cries out before the unjust judge. Relentlessly. Without dignity. Without restraint. Because she knows she has no other hope. Isaac places this image before us for a reason. This is the posture of the humble man. Not composed. Not self-contained. But persistent. Needy. Unashamed. Because he has seen the truth. ⸻ In the end, humility is not thinking less of oneself. It is knowing, without illusion, that one cannot live without God. And not merely knowing it, but remaining there. In prayer. In need. In trembling. Afraid not of punishment, but of losing the nearness of God. ⸻ This is the paradox. The man who is weak becomes unshakable. Because his life is no longer founded on himself. But on the One who draws near to the broken. --- Text of chat during the group: 00:01:00 Fr. One day he stopped him and asked what he was doing. The man explained he worked nearby and had only a short lunch break, so he came to pray. “I only stay a moment,” he said. “The factory is far, so I kneel and say: ‘Lord, I just came again to tell you, Jesus, how happy I am when you free me from my sins. What if the very thing you've been praised for… is the exact thing slowing your leadership down?In this episode of Embracing Enough, we're getting honest about a pattern too many high-performing women know intimately - but rarely say out loud.Because most women weren't actually taught leadership. We were taught how to be manageable.Easy to work with.Easy to direct.Easy to overlook. And while those traits get rewarded early on, they quietly start to cost you - visibility, authority, and the ability to lead at the level you're actually capable of.Inside this episode, we unpack:The subtle ways women are conditioned to prioritize likability over leadershipWhy “non-promotable work” and emotional labor are keeping you stuck in the backgroundThe real difference between being valuable to your team and being seen as a leaderHow the confidence cliff (yes, it starts young) follows women straight into the workplaceThree powerful shifts to help you move from manageability to authority...without becoming someone you're notThis is not about becoming more polished, more agreeable, or more likable. It's about telling the truth:Leadership isn't about being easy. It's about being clear. If you've ever caught yourself holding back, softening your voice, or over-carrying the emotional weight of your team - this episode is your wake-up call. And maybe, just maybe, your permission slip.

Welcome to Day 2824 of Wisdom-Trek. Thank you for joining me. This is Guthrie Chamberlain, Your Guide to Wisdom. Day 2824 – Great Deeds, Strong Faith, Big God – Luke 5:12-26 Putnam Church Message – 02/22/2026 Luke's Account of the Good News - “Great Deeds, Strong Faith, Big God.” Last week, we continued our study of the ministry of Jesus Christ with a message titled “What It's Like to Fish With Jesus,” where we learned that fishing with Jesus looks nothing like fishing alone. Today, we continue with the thirteenth message in Luke's narrative of the Good News of Jesus Christ in a message titled “Great Deeds, Strong Faith, Big God.” Our Core verses for this week are Luke 5:12-26, found on page 1598 of your Pew Bibles. Follow along as I read. SCRIPTURE READING — Luke 5:12-26 (NIV) Jesus Heals a Man With Leprosy 12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy.[a] When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don't tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.” 15 Yet the news about him spread all the more, so that crowds of people came to hear him and to be healed of their sicknesses. 16 But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Jesus Forgives and Heals a Paralyzed Man 17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus. 20 When Jesus saw their faith, he said, “Friend, your sins are forgiven.” 21 The Pharisees and the teachers of the law began thinking to themselves, “Who is this fellow who speaks blasphemy? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” 22 Jesus knew what they were thinking and asked, “Why are you thinking these things in your hearts? 23 Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,' or to say, ‘Get up and walk'? 24 But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 25 Immediately he stood up in front of them, took what he had been lying on and went home praising God. 26 Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.” Opening Prayer Father, we come before You aware that our vision of You is often too small. We confess that we shrink You down to the size of our schedules, our worries, and our expectations. Enlarge our vision today. Open our eyes to see Your authority, Your compassion, and Your power to forgive. Give us strong faith in a big God. Through Christ our Lord, Amen. When God Gets Too Small And it happens so subtly. / Israel had done it. / The Pharisees had done it. Even sincere believers can do it. By the time of Tiberius Caesar, Herod Antipas, Pontius Pilate, Annas, and Caiaphas, God had been reduced to a cosmic scorekeeper — tallying good deeds, deducting points for bad behavior, enforcing Sabbath rules, inspecting hand-washing rituals, policing technicalities. God had become predictable. / Manageable. / Containable. / Small. And then Jesus walked into their world — and suddenly God began growing again. Luke 5:12–26 is not merely about miracles. / It is about vision. / It is about authority. /It is about discovering that God is far bigger than we imagined. Today we see: • A great deed • Strong faith • A very big God And the question Luke leaves hanging over the entire scene is this: Will our vision of God expand… or will we shrink Him back down? Main Point One: A Big God Touches the Untouchable (Luke 5:12–16) Let's begin with the leper. Luke tells us: “In one of the villages, Jesus met a man with an advanced case of leprosy…” (Luke 5:12, NLT) Not a mild case. / Not a recent diagnosis. / “Advanced Case or Covered” — literally full of it. In the ancient world, leprosy was not just a medical condition. / It was social death. / It was religious exclusion. / It was isolation. Leviticus 13 required the leper to live outside the camp. / To cry out “Unclean!” / To avoid contact. |Imagine the loneliness. / Imagine the silence. / Imagine the years without touch. / He had likely not felt a human hand in years. And then he sees Jesus. And he falls on his face and says: “Lord, if You are willing, You can heal me and make me clean.” (12) Notice what he does not say. / He does not question Jesus' ability. / He questions His willingness. / Ability wasn't the problem. / Acceptance was. And perhaps that's where some of us live. / We don't doubt that God can. / We wonder if He will. / Or if He wants to. / Or if we are worth touching. And then Luke records something breathtaking. “Jesus reached out and touched him.” / He touched him! / Jesus could have spoken the word from across the street. / He healed from miles away in John 4. / He commanded demons with a phrase. / But here — He touches. Why? Because the miracle was not only physical. / It was relational. / The leper didn't just need cleansing. / He needed restoration. / He needed to feel accepted. / And in that moment, God got bigger. / The Pharisees saw uncleanness. / Jesus saw a man. Ancient Perspective In Jewish thought, leprosy symbolized sin. / It was visible corruption. / Outward manifestation of inward decay. / When Miriam was struck with leprosy (Numbers 12), it was associated with rebellion. / When Naaman was cleansed (2 Kings 5), it was seen as divine mercy. Rabbinic tradition even said curing leprosy was as difficult as raising the dead. / In other words, this was beyond human ability. / Which is exactly where Jesus operates. Object Lesson — Hold up a glove. Without a hand inside, it is lifeless. / Shapeless. Useless. / But when a hand enters it — suddenly it moves, grasps, functions. The leper's life was like that glove. / Empty. / Isolated. / Untouchable. Until God entered his story. / The difference was not in the glove. / It was in the hand. Modern Analogy There are “lepers” today. / Not with skin disease. / But with stigma. / Addiction. Failure. / Public scandal. / Divorce. / Depression. / Bankruptcy. / Shame. Society and even some churches say: Keep your distance. Jesus says: Come here. Hebrews 4:15 reminds us: “We do not have a high priest who...
A year ago this month, the travel and motherhood world lost Elise Caffee — blogger, adventurer, mother of three, and the woman behind the hashtag "take the trip." Elise believed, down to her bones, that making memories with your kids was always worth it — the chaos, the cost, the exhaustion, all of it. This episode is for her. This week's guest is Tiffany Rosenhan, Elise's dear friend, co-author, and co-founder of Jumelle Press. Together, they wrote Pippa and Poppy Adventure — a beautiful children's book about two identical twins exploring Europe — and Tiffany is here today to carry Elise's message forward. With spring break just around the corner, her three takeaways feel especially timely — whether you're heading somewhere far or just loading up the car for a day trip an hour from home. In this episode, you'll hear:
No one plans to drift. No one plans to lose focus. No one plans to slowly trade what matters most for something temporary. And yet...it happens. In this message from our Eyes on the Prize series, we talk honestly about temptation: how it works, why it’s powerful, and how to overcome it before it pulls you off course. The Bible says sin “easily entangles” us. That means it rarely shows up loud and obvious. It shows up subtle. Normal. Manageable. Until it isn’t. In this sermon, you’ll discover: • Why temptation is common (and you’re not alone) • How sin begins in the heart, not just behavior • Why certain compromises are more destructive than we think • Practical, biblical steps to fight temptation • How real freedom is found in Jesus...not willpower This isn’t about guilt. It’s about clarity. It’s about freedom. If you’ve ever felt pulled in two directions… If you’ve ever wanted to stop a pattern before it became a problem… If you’re ready to live with purpose instead of regret… This message is for you.
What if the simplest way to build strength, improve endurance, and sharpen your mind is already sitting in your closet as an old backpack? Rucking sounds almost too simple to matter. Add weight to a walk and head outside. Yet in this conversation, Dr. Andrew Fix and registered dietitian and RuckFit author Kayla Girgen make a compelling case that rucking may be one of the most practical tools for long-term health. It builds strength, supports bone density, elevates heart rate, and challenges posture without the joint stress that sidelines so many active adults. The deeper insight centers on sustainability. How often do we abandon fitness because we cannot execute the perfect plan? Kayla shares how rucking helped her move beyond all-or-nothing thinking and build consistency. Weight and distance can scale with your season of life. A stroller walk becomes training. A short neighborhood loop becomes meaningful work. When paired with thoughtful nutrition and simple lifestyle shifts like better sleep and stress awareness, the results compound. What changes when we stop chasing optimal conditions and start valuing repeatable effort? The conversation also explores metabolic health through continuous glucose monitoring and how nutrition choices, stress levels, and daily lifestyle patterns influence inflammation and energy. Awareness shapes behavior. Manageable discomfort builds resilience. Whether the load is physical or psychological, growth follows when we choose to engage. The takeaway is grounded and actionable. You do not need elite gear or ideal weather. You need a backpack, a little weight, and the willingness to step outside. Quotes “Spending more time in nature, getting outside, and out of my head really helped calm a lot of anxiety that I was feeling at that time.”(04:00 | Kayla Girgen) “You don't have to carry obscene amounts of weight to get the benefits of rucking.”(14:11 | Kayla Girgen) “This is where I love rucking because it can help bring something like walking and help it feel like, for lack of a better term, like it counts.” (18:28 | Kayla Girgen) “Most everybody has what you need at home. So when I first started, I grabbed an old backpack. I wrapped a 10 pound dumbbell in a towel and threw it in the interior pocket.” (24:46 | Kayla Girgen) “I think the number one mistake I see with rucking is just not doing it.”(58:05 | Kayla Girgen) Connect with Kayla Girgen: Check Out Kayla's Book Visit Kayla's Website Follow Kayla on Instagram Subscribe to Kayla's YouTube Follow Kayla on TikTok Follow Kayla on Facebook Connect with Kayla on LinkedIn KAYLA GIRGEN, RD, LD, CPT, is a registered dietitian, certified personal trainer, and founder of Sugar + Strength Academy—an online wellness community helping women balance blood sugar and build strength, one step at a time. Does it feel like you're constantly defending your child's reading choices to a well-meaning teacher who insists graphic novels "don't count"? Are you worried that letting them "just look at the pictures" is actually holding them back? Today, we're busting the biggest myth in the dyslexia community and looking at why the graphic novel revolution is the breakthrough your struggling reader has been waiting for. In this episode, I'm sharing the research that proves these books actually pack more sophisticated vocabulary than traditional children's stories - without the "wall of text" that leads to burnout. We'll talk about why visuals are a total game-changer for comprehension and how they allow your child's brain to actually process the story instead of just exhausted decoding, plus I'm also giving you the exact scripts to use when you get pushback at school and my personal "no-fail" book list to get your child reading voluntarily. By the end of this one, you'll stop stressing over "real books" and start seeing your child finally fall in love with a story! Hello to you listening in Falkenstein, Germany!Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Story Prompt Friday and your host, Diane Wyzga.Like a story in the making we are balanced between what was and what will be. Story Prompt: Now you. Write that story and share it out loud! You're always welcome: "Come for the stories - Stay for the magic!" The Year of the Fire Horse and the Power of Becoming Welcome to Season Six of the Be-YOU-tiful Adaptive Warrior (BA Warrior) Podcast—a milestone that still takes my breath away. If you had told me years ago that I would be hosting a podcast, let alone entering its sixth season, I would have laughed. It was never a dream I set out to chase. And yet, here we are. Proof that life doesn't always unfold according to our plans—but often according to something far greater. If you're new here, I want to personally welcome you. And if you've been walking this road with me for years, please know how deeply grateful I am. Your messages, your comments, your shared stories, and your willingness to show up week after week are the reason this podcast exists. Be a Warrior is not something I do alone—it's something we build together. This podcast is rooted in amputee life. I am an above-knee amputee and have been for seven years. Everything I share comes from lived experience—the victories, the mistakes, the frustrations, the growth, and the moments that test every ounce of resilience. My hope has always been that by sharing my journey honestly, someone else might feel less alone in theirs. A New Season, A New Energy Season Six begins with a theme that feels deeply personal to me: the Year of the Horse—specifically, the Fire Horse. This year carries amplified energy, movement, instinct, and transformation. It also aligns beautifully with where I am in life right now. I recently completed my equine therapy certification, which allows me to bring the healing power of horses to others in a deeper, more intentional way. Horses have long been part of my life, but this year marks a turning point—where passion, purpose, and service come together. My goal for 2026 is to help expand access to equine therapy for overall well-being, especially for people navigating trauma, change, or physical loss. But before we talk about where we're going, let me tell you how this year actually started—because it wasn't graceful. A Rough Start and an Important Lesson My husband and I took a short getaway to Sedona, Arizona—a place that feels like a deep breath for the soul. We live in the desert, but a quick drive north brings cooler air, pine trees, red rocks, and a sense of escape. It was meant to be a simple, restorative weekend. In typical fashion, I packed last minute. I grabbed my makeup, hair products, clothes—and we were out the door. What I didn't grab? Two things no above-knee amputee should ever forget: My prosthetic charging cord The bag I use to pull my leg into my socket My bag to put my socket on….that I forgot. I realized the charging cord was missing first. Panic set in—until I checked my prosthetic's battery level. Eighty-two percent. I could manage one day. Then came the second realization. No bag. For those unfamiliar, I am a skin-fit amputee, meaning I don't use liners or traditional suction. My leg requires a specific bag to pull the skin properly into the socket. Without it, my prosthesis does not go on. No shortcuts. No substitutes—at least, not easily. I didn't sleep that night. I ran through every possible outcome: crutching around town, canceling plans, going home early. I was frustrated—not just because I forgot something critical, but because I knew better. Ironically, the reason I forgot was also a sign of progress. I had become so comfortable in my body, so confident in my mobility, that I wasn't thinking about “what ifs” anymore. My prosthesis had become as normal to me as legs are to two-legged people. Comfort is a gift—but complacency can be costly. Adaptation Is a Warrior Skill The next morning, I went into full problem-solving mode. I asked myself: What do I have? What can I use? Garbage bags wouldn't work—they'd tear. A standard pillowcase was too thick. Then I spotted a silk pillowcase. Thin. Slippery. Flexible. It wasn't perfect—but it worked. I was able to walk around town that day. I didn't hike, knowing my limits. When I got home later, I had blisters and raw skin—but I was mobile. I adapted. And that's what amputee life often requires: creativity, patience, resilience, and the willingness to meet challenges head-on. The Unpredictability of Phantom Pain Just days later, I was reminded again how unpredictable this journey can be. Despite having minimal phantom pain since my nerve revision surgery, I was suddenly hit with intense, stabbing sensations in a foot that no longer exists. The pain came in waves—sharp, jolting, and relentless. It lasted for hours and woke me from sleep. There was no obvious trigger. No overexertion. No trauma. Through experience, I've learned that phantom pain doesn't need permission. It arrives when it wants—and leaves when it's ready. What got me through wasn't panic. It was instinct. I ran through my mental checklist: Socket fit? Fine. Injury? No. Stress? Manageable. Weather? Stable. Hydration? Questionable. I drank water—lots of it. And the pain faded. Whether coincidence or correlation, I logged it as wisdom for the future. Always adapting! The Fire Horse Mentality The horse symbolizes freedom, movement, instinct, truth, nervous system wisdom, and connection over control—all things that resonate deeply with amputee life. Freedom didn't come to me through saving my leg. It came when I let it go. Movement returned not through endless surgeries, but through acceptance, adaptation, and the right prosthetic support. Instinct tells me when to rest, when to push, and when to trust that pain will pass. Truth asks me to acknowledge that this life is hard—but still meaningful. Horses understand nervous system regulation instinctively. As amputees, learning to regulate our own nervous systems is critical—not just for physical comfort, but emotional health. And perhaps most importantly: connection over control. Trying to control everything—our bodies, our recovery, our outcomes—often creates more suffering. Connection, whether to our prosthetist, our body, our community, or our faith, is what carries us forward. Stop Comparing. Start Living. One of the most destructive habits amputees fall into is comparison. Just because someone else is doing something you aren't doesn't mean you're failing. Different bodies. Different trauma. Different prosthetics. Different lives. You are not behind. You are not weak. You are not less than. Compare yourself only to who you were yesterday. A Call to Rise Season Six is about listening, connecting, trusting, and becoming. It's about letting go of the reins just enough to allow life—and faith—to lead. You are a warrior. Not because of what you've lost—but because of how you keep showing up. This year is a fresh page. A new chapter. Write it with courage. Live it with intention. And remember—you don't have to do it alone. Welcome to Season Six. Let's ride forward together. And as always, Be Healthy, Be Happy, Be YOU!! Much love, Rise up, Warriors!!!

Hale's parents suggested this two years ago and this report appears to confirm that. The Tennessee Star reports: Latest FBI Release of Covenant School Manifesto Files Appears to Confirm Trans-Identified Killer Bought Guns with Pell Grant Money The FBI on Monday released another 230 manifesto pages written by Audrey Elizabeth Hale, the biological female who identified as a transgender man on March 27, 2023, when the 28-year-old killed six at the Covenant School in Nashville, the Christian elementary school she once attended. This latest journal appears to have been written sometime in late 2021, and includes lengthy sections about the weapons the killer planned to use to commit a mass shooting at a school sometime that year. Following multiple pages full of weapons to purchase, the journal includes a page labeled “Account Savings Record,” which appears to reference the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). It also records multiple payments received from Nossi during the period when Hale attended the Nossi College of Art and Design in Nashville. “FASFA [sic] grant checks started at $2,050.86,” wrote Hale at the top of the entry. The page then lists a series of apparent ledger entries, starting with, “$2,656.87 (x3 checks from Nossi).” The next ledger entry states, “+$530.00 (x1 check Nossi) ($3,186.87).” This reference to Hale's federal student aid, located in the writings next to her entries about guns she considered buying, appears to corroborate the claims made by her parents to Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD) detectives in 2023, when they told law enforcement their child purchased the firearms using federal Pell Grant money. Protests Erupt Across Iran As Angry People Flood Streets The mullahs have ruled in Iran since 1979. So you had millions that went to helping to prop up the terrorist state. But the Iranians are a persistent people, it would appear, especially when you hurt them in their wallets and make it challenging to survive. We’re at another one of those moments in history where hope has sparked again in the country, and people are in the streets, calling for change. Nationwide strikes and protests by merchants continued across Iran, with shops shuttered in major commercial hubs including Tehran's Grand Bazaar, Lalehzar Street, Naser Khosrow and Istanbul Square. Demonstrators chanted anti-government slogans calling for the downfall of the ruling clerics and demanding the leadership step aside. Video circulating online showed protesters inside a major shopping complex in Tehran's Grand Bazaar chanting, “Have no fear, we are all together,” while hurling insults at security forces and calling them shameless. Cyber attacks ‘tipping point' warning issued after Harrods and M&S targeted Cyber attacks surged into prominence in 2025, inflicting significant financial damage on major British businesses and exposing widespread vulnerabilities across the economy. President Trump noted that he was informed of the attack by President Putin during an early Monday phone call between the two leaders. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has denied the accusation that Ukraine carried out this particular attack. The attack took place while Zelenskyy was in Florida meeting with President Trump. U.S. media have said the attack on Putin may be a lie; however, with physical evidence from the defense operation, it is less likely Russia just made up the attack. At this moment in the conflict, Putin doesn't need domestic propaganda. The report, citing campaign finance records, said the total includes $31,000 contributed toward James' 2026 reelection bid. Soros personally donated $18,000 in July 2024, while his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Soros, contributed $13,000 in May. With earlier donations included, Soros and his family have provided James with roughly $40,000 more since 2019, the Post reported. The figure does not include the indirect support James has received through left-leaning organizations backed by Soros. I wanted to share some info with you that you might find interesting. I was trained by U.S. Military people off the books starting in college. I have been on projects since that time in Eastern Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Africa. All in the line of duty what I thought was right and in the best interest of the United States. Recently I was approached about a project that Tim Walz wanted done, and Keith [unclear] was also aware of the project. Tim wanted me to kill Amy Klobuchar and Tina [unclear]. Tim wants to be a senator and he doesn't trust [unclear] to retire as planned and this is meant to stay in the last mile with Amy & [unclear] gone. Tim would get one of the open senate seats, and [unclear] was to be VP, and Keith Ellison would be rewarded with a lucrative governing position. I told Tim I wanted nothing to do with it and that I didn't call off that plan I would go public. He said he would call it off himself if I didn't play ball. Then he set up a meeting with me and [unclear] and [unclear] to take care of me when I refused. They had some people waiting to kill me. I was able to get away by God's mercy. So I went back a short time later and shot back at [unclear]. You should notice how I didn't fire me rounds at any police officers and by God I have plenty of opportunity. Ask for the report on how many weapons and ammunition I had with me. Cops were pulling up right next to me in unmarked vehicles and I had an AK pistol across my lap. And I could have left a pile of cops dead but I did not. Short burst towards law enforcement. You can ask them. Because I snapped the police and chose not to see them hurt. But it may end up my wife and kids next time. I won't give them a pass. If you think I'm making this up just get on the phone and tell Tim you have a few questions for him. Then ask Tim Walz if he knows me and see what he says? If he says he doesn't know me, or never met me, look in the files and you will see that Tim personally approved me to be on his Governor's workforce. Bridges are the business representatives. He is probably trying to destroy that note but it is public record. Then ask Tim Walz why they kept the shots silent from the media when they first happened. Not a word in the press and I. Why? They needed to get their stories figured out. So everyone was on the same page about what happened. Tim is probably crapping bricks right now because I'm still at large and he knows what I can disclose and that I know about all the buried skeletons are. So I will be shot on sight you can bet on that. If you want me to turn myself in it need to be directly to you and then I need to be held at a military prison or in the Middle East, or at least on a ship. One voice per 700,000 people. The founders envisioned one per 30,000. That ratio was frozen in 1929, locked by the Permanent Apportionment Act, ensuring the number would remain manageable. Manageable for whom? One hundred senators. 535 total legislators controlling the direction of the largest economy in human history. You do not need to purchase a nation. You purchase 535 people. Or fewer. Buy the committee chairs. Fewer still. Buy the leadership. A few dozen individuals, properly leveraged through money or blackmail (it's actually both), steer everything. The bottleneck is artificial. Engineered for efficient capture. The Federal Reserve arrived in 1913, transferring monetary sovereignty from the people to a private banking cartel. That same year, the 17th Amendment removed state legislatures from Senate appointments, severing the balance between federal and state power. The intelligence apparatus emerged after World War II as a parallel government operating beyond electoral accountability. The administrative state metastasized into an unelected fourth branch writing rules with the force of law. Layer upon layer. Each generation inherits chains from contracts they never signed, bound by compromises made long before their birth. Yes, the Founding Fathers intended for the House of Representatives to expand as the population grew. The U.S. Constitution’s Article I, Section 2 established an initial apportionment ratio of no more than one representative per 30,000 inhabitants (with each state guaranteed at least one), implying that the total number would increase based on census results every ten years. the framers expected regular adjustments to maintain proportional representation as the nation expanded. James Madison, in Federalist No. 58, directly addressed concerns that the House might not grow, arguing that the Constitution’s mechanisms—such as decennial reapportionments—would “augment the number of representatives” over time, and that political incentives (e.g., larger states pushing for increases) would ensure it happened. This intent is further supported by the proposed (but unratified) Congressional Apportionment Amendment from the original Bill of Rights, which aimed to set a formula preventing the House from becoming too small relative to the population. However, the House was permanently capped at 435 members by the Apportionment Act of 1929, diverging from this original vision. https://twitter.com/CynicalPublius/status/2005740095979069669?s=20 attempt instead chase smaller game, run interference, attack each other, send you down rabbit holes, and offer limited hangouts that lead nowhere. The silence is bipartisan. The silence is the tell. If your enemy acts and your ally does nothing despite holding every lever of power, you do not have two sides. WAIT… THERE'S MORE… https://twitter.com/WarClandestine/status/2005729994782466232?s=20 our walls, with Antifa and radical Islamic terrorist groups still at large, without Trump's people in position, without the public being informed of the treasonous conspiracy, without the wars around the globe being settled, without rogue Deep State elements like Iran's nuclear capabilities being shut down, all while the public are extremely emotionally charged after the election cycle and have been repeatedly brainwashed to believe that Trump is Hitler about to unleash a military dictatorship… There's levels to this shit. Many variables must be accounted for and many pieces must be in place before we can do something of this magnitude. But if you've been paying attention, you'd see that much of these things have already been taken care of over Trump's first year. I'm more optimistic than I've ever been, and frankly I don't understand how people don't see what Trump is doing. The price to pay for striking early, could result in mass civilian casualties, the entire operation will be ruined, the Republic will fall to the Deep State, and all of us will be tax/labor slaves forever. We can't afford to miss. Everything must be perfect, and Trump is putting the pieces into place to make it happen. Welcome! and Thank you for listening. The Daytona 50 mile race is in the books. It was my first road ultramarathon, and I continue to learn a little something at each race. I believe the learning points can be applied to any new task or long term goal. 1. Break a goal down into small parts. This seems obvious but the trick is staying in the small part and not looking into the daunting future. 2. Have a strategy for each segment before the segment begins and follow the plan. Variables come up, there is always the unknown, but a strategy is a must for a baseline. 3. What is your time frame? Can you stick to it? Have you ever started a trip without a time plan? The progress is not always what you want. 4. Stiffness is a real concern with sitting during an ultramarathon. However, you can get started again. 5. Nutrition is best handled without relying on an aid station for solid foods for the most part. Its is not a buffet. 6. Salty britches is a must for blister prevention. I hope you enjoy my story. Third-Quarter Meltdown at SoFi The Detroit Lions had a halftime lead at SoFi and left with a lesson. The NFL punishes teams that nap after the break, and the third quarter did the damage. Three straight three-and-outs. Short fields for Los Angeles. The defense buckled. The Rams took whatever they wanted. A slip in the postgame summed it up, calling it a three-quarter game before catching it. That is how it played. The game swung in 15 minutes, and the Lions could not claw back. This was not a one-off blip. It mirrored the recent pattern. Since early October the Lions have whipsawed win to loss to win again. The common thread is the third quarter and the struggle to steady the wheel when the script flips. Against the Rams, the reset out of the locker room never came. The Lions waited until the fourth to find rhythm. Too late. Identity Crisis on Offense The Detroit Lions offense lacks a reliable backbone. In the first half, they found it. David Montgomery churned tough yards. Six carries. Thirty-one yards. Early-down success. Manageable thirds. That is how you protect your quarterback against a strong Rams front and a top scoring defense. Then halftime hit, and the plan dissolved. Early-down chuck and duck. Long thirds. Montgomery vanished. Jahmyr Gibbs struggled to dent the wall. The approach drifted from what worked to what played into Los Angeles' hands. The play-caller change was supposed to clarify things. The overall numbers still look fine on paper, especially scoring. But how the Lions get there shifts week to week and quarter to quarter. That is why the roller coaster persists. This team needs a repeatable core idea. Run to set terms. Stay on schedule. Use play action off that. Until the Lions lock into that, the variance will keep biting good game plans in half. Trenches in Trouble Grey underscores the most urgent problem - the offensive line. Tristan Colon is not the answer at left guard. The film and the result say it. If Christian Mahogany is not ready, Miles Frasier has to be the next man up. Graham Glasgow is gutting it out. Taylor Decker is playing through a shoulder. Penei Sewell gets his ankle wrapped every week while carrying the load. The unit is battered, and it shows when the rotation hits the bottom of the depth chart. The offseason priority is clear, but December is here. Protection and the run game are the lifelines for the identity this offense keeps misplacing. Get Montgomery back in early. Make life simpler for everyone across the front. Pass Rush Plan and Secondary Strain The defensive line plan needs a reset. Time to pressure is among the league's worst, and it played out in Los Angeles. Aidan Hutchinson leads in pressures, but they arrive late. That invites disaster for a man-coverage secondary. Puka Nacua and the Rams feasted while Matthew Stafford sat clean and patient. You cannot ask corners to shadow NFL separators for that long and expect a win rate. Fix it with design, not just effort. Heat early. Change launch points. Win on first down to unlock the rush. If the front speeds up the clock, the coverage can breathe. If not, the Lions will keep chasing games they should control. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xb1cCPeMh-U #detroitlions #lions #detroitlionspodcast #third-quartermeltdown #threestraightthree-and-outs #shortfieldsforlosangeles #ramsfront #topscoringdefense #offensivelinedepth #tristancolon #davidmontgomery #jahmyrgibbs #aidanhutchinson Learn more about your ad choices. Catherine sits down with national TV host, actress, and best-selling author Megan Alexander to unwrap a timely question: How do Christian families actually keep Christ central during Christmas? Because just like seasons, hardship is a non-negotiable part of growth—in life, in leadership, and especially in orthodontics. You don't get to pick only the victories and skip the failures. You don't get spring without winter. Whether your practice is struggling to hit monthly goals, you're recovering from personal loss, or you're simply tired of grinding—this episode is a heartfelt reminder that attitude does affect altitude. If you can face the hard days with perspective and resilience, you'll come back stronger every time.QUOTES“Every year there's been a spring, followed by a summer, then autumn, then winter. You don't get to say, ‘I'll take 3 springs, 2 summers, and no winters.' Life doesn't work that way.” — Jim Rohn“Attitude affects altitude. Progress monitoring is one of those things in special education that can either be your best friend or your biggest headache. I've lived both extremes. In this episode of Be The Exception in Special Education, I'm sharing: Why progress monitoring is more than a compliance task. The top mistakes I've made (and how you can skip them). My favorite tools that actually make data collection doable. You'll hear about my hybrid system that blends the speed of paper with the power of digital, plus real strategies you can start this week to make your data work for you. If progress monitoring has ever made you feel overwhelmed, this episode will help you cut through the chaos and create a system you can actually stick with. Two visions for the future of AI clash in this debate between Daniel Kokotajlo and Arvind Narayanan. Is AI a revolutionary new species destined for runaway superintelligence, or just another step in humanity's technological evolution—like electricity or the internet? Daniel, a former OpenAI researcher and author of AI 2027, argues for a fast-approaching intelligence explosion. Arvind, a Princeton professor and co-author of AI Snake Oil, contends that AI is powerful but ultimately controllable and slow to reshape society. Moderated by Ryan and David, this conversation dives into the crux of capability vs. power, economic transformation, and the future of democratic agency in an AI-driven world. ------
