Greg Kelly and guest Joel Gilbert discuss a fatal confrontation in Minneapolis, framing the incident as a justified law enforcement action while dismissing attempts to humanize the deceased driver. The conversation shifts toward a critique of Democratic Representative Eric Swalwell, specifically challenging his legal eligibility to run for Governor of California due to alleged residency violations. Gilbert details a personal encounter at a town hall to portray Swalwell as an ambitious radical driven by psychological rebellion against his parents rather than genuine policy. As the scandal around ICE's killing of Renee Good in Minneapolis gets worse, two leading Democrats—Representatives Eric Swalwell and Daniel Goldman—are set to introduce a new bill reining in ICE. It would end qualified immunity for civil enforcement officers like ICE agents, making it easier for victims of their abuses to sue them or pursue criminal charges against them in court. All this comes as top MAGA figures and leading Republicans have flatly defended the killing in some truly ghoulish displays. This, even as powerful new video analyses from The New York Times and The Washington Post show unequivocally that the shooting was at minimum absolutely unjustified. We talked to Swalwell and Goodman about their new proposal, the need for the state of Minnesota to prosecute the shooter, the folly of expecting the FBI to investigate the killing, and the need to functionally end ICE's existence over the long term. The Democrats narrative on ICE is dangerous, and the corporate media is fanning the flames. From morning TV to late-night, the narrative is all controlled by the liberal propaganda. Part of this propaganda is to sanctify Renee Good who got shot and died after trying to run over an ICE agent. Politicians like Jasmine Crockett and Eric Swalwell put on a show in congress and behind their fake tears calls for sacrificing life to fight back is ok and the democratic party is on board with it. Plus, Mamdani butts in, RFK Jr. flips the food pyramid upside down, the first Conservative Clown of the Week of 2026, and the first weekly Prayer to our Heavenly Father, and we all need it this new year.
I never thought I'd be glued to my screen watching courtrooms turn into battlegrounds for America's future, but here we are in early January 2026, and President Donald Trump's legal wars are heating up like never before. Just days ago, on Tuesday, January 6, SCOTUSblog reminded us of that historic New York Times Company v. Sullivan case from 1964, where the Supreme Court protected the press from libel suits—timely now as tensions simmer between Trump and media outlets. But that's history; the real fireworks are exploding right now.Picture this: the Supreme Court is gearing up for its January 12 argument session in Washington, D.C., with seven massive cases, several straight from Trump's playbook. Axios reports that top of the list is Trump v. Barbara, where the justices could rule any moment on his executive order slashing birthright citizenship. Trump wants to deny U.S. citizenship to kids of undocumented immigrants born here, challenging over a century of 14th Amendment precedent. Businesses like Costco, Revlon, Bumble Bee Foods, and Ray-Ban makers are suing over another bombshell—Trump's tariffs. In Learning v. Trump, they're fighting his national emergency declaration that slapped billions in duties on imports without Congress's okay. Trump boasted on Truth Social it's the "most case ever," but a loss could mean refunding over $100 billion. Then there's Trump v. Slaughter, pitting Trump against Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook and FTC's Alvaro Bedoya and Rebecca Slaughter, whom he fired for clashing with his policies. The court will decide if he can boot independent agency heads, smashing 90-year-old protections.Just Security's litigation tracker paints an even wilder picture of chaos in lower courts. In D.C.'s federal district court, Taylor v. Trump challenges Executive Order 14164, where Attorney General Pam Bondi shuffled death row inmates to ADX Florence supermax under Trump's public safety push—plaintiffs scream due process violations. The National Association of the Deaf sued Trump, Chief of Staff Susan Wiles, and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt for axing ASL interpreters at White House briefings, claiming First and Fifth Amendment breaches. Law firms aren't safe either: Susman Godfrey out of Texas hit back at an executive order yanking their security clearances for opposing Trump; Perkins Coie, Jenner & Block, and WilmerHale face similar retaliation suits in D.D.C., alleging viewpoint discrimination. The American Bar Association sued over yanked grants from the Office on Violence Against Women, calling it payback for their stances. Even Rep. Eric Swalwell's in the mix with Swalwell v. Pute, targeting Trump's criminal arrest pushes.Politico says grand juries are Trump's new nightmare—refusing indictments left and right on his aggressive policies, from protester crackdowns to immigrant roundups. U.S. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan blasted prosecutors for "rushed" cases with weak evidence. And in a wild international twist, CBS News covered ousted Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro and wife Cilia Flores arraigned Monday in Manhattan's federal courthouse before Judge Alvin Hellerstein. Whisked by helicopter from Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center under heavy security, Maduro pled not guilty to narco-terrorism, cocaine smuggling, and weapons charges—facing life in prison—while insisting he's still Venezuela's president. The Supreme Court's emergency docket, like in 25A312, keeps deferring stays till January arguments, per their own filings. Lawfare's tracker logs non-stop national security suits against Trump's moves. It's a legal whirlwind, listeners, with the high court poised to reshape everything from guns in Wolford v. Lopez against Hawaii's private property ban, to conversion therapy fights in Miles v. Salazar. Thanks for tuning in, listeners—come back next week for more. Serious crime numbers have been released. Across the board, serious crime has declined dramatically over the past year. However, a handful of large U.S. cities have seen some of those stats actually climb. We have the details in today's show.In an unusual statement, Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she did not intend to tear President Trump's script for his State of the Union speech when she was still Speaker of the House. The full story is detailed in today's show.California Governor-wannabe, Eric Swalwell, was sent out to appear on the Sunday talk shows. His orders this Sunday were to stir the media one more time to attack President Trump because his Department of Justice is slow-walking the release of all the Epstein documents. Swalwell obviously doesn't care about his reputation for lying because he thinks Americans are too stupid to remember that Democrats controlled all U.S. agencies during Obama's eight years as President and Biden's four years. Why did they not investigate any of this?
We hope you had a fabulous Christmas Day!Today, we caught our listeners up to the latest important news events from across the U.S. and around the World. One can imagine that, though the World slept and largely enjoyed the Christmas spirit, many who do not subscribe to the Christmas Story and to God's son being born in this season. However, much of the World celebrated.President Trump did not take a vacation. He ordered a military strike against radical Islamists who had for years been brutally slaughtering Christians in North Africa for no other reason than their Christianity! We are awaiting the details of the attacks. However, we were told it was a "systematic" event for one purpose: to Stop the murders of Christians.California Rep. Eric Swalwell has once again proven that he has little, if any, relationship with "Truth." He casually tried to equate illegal aliens who crossed our southern border with Jesus, his mother, and father. Swallwell maintains the family of Jesus was comprised of "illegal migrants." That lie Swalwell told is far from the truth. We were informed that 1 million additional Epstein documents will be released this week. "And the hits just keep on coming!" Studying and compiling the substance of these "new" revelations will take months. The redactions of numerous names from these documents will make it difficult to provide precise, concise details to Americans. Of course, the Left will push forward with their "version" of every questionable reference listed in the documents. They're still desperate to somehow loop Trump into the responsibility for all wrongdoing that may be exposed.
East Bay Insiders welcomes Carla Marinucci back to the pod. We dive into reports that Attorney General Rob Bonta is eyeing a run for governor. What does it mean for Rep. Eric Swalwell's own ambitions? Did Swalwell miss a window to run for AG, and could a Bonta–Swalwell rivalry be shaping up? We break down the early race to replace Swalwell in Congress, featuring State Sen. Aisha Wahab and BART Director Melissa Hernandez, and revisit how shifting district lines once helped Swalwell rise. On the local front, we talk Costco coming to Oakland, led by Councilmember "Kirkland" Carroll Fife, why landing a Costco can be a fiscal game-changer for cities—and how Oakland might mess it up. We also cover Pamela Price's comeback bid for Alameda County district attorney and what the dismissal of charges against former San Leandro officer Jason Fletcher means for the 2026 primary. Plus, a remembrance of San Leandro Mayor Stephen Cassidy, reflecting on his leadership and lasting impact on the East Bay. Don't miss Episode 122, featuring the 3rd Annual Insidey Awards.
Congressman Eric Swalwell announced last month that he was joining the crowded race to replace California governor Gavin Newsom. The Dublin lawmaker enters a fluid contest with no overwhelming favorite. Recent polling shows Swalwell - along with former house member Katie Porter and Republicans Chad Bianco and Steve Hilton - in the 10-15% range, with a small fleet of other candidates struggling to break out of the single digits.Swalwell has been one of President Trump's most vocal critics in the House and served as impeachment manager during Trump's second impeachment. While that visibility likely increases his favorability with Democratic voters, it comes at a cost: he has been hit with allegations of mortgage and tax fraud by Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte. Pulte, an ally of President Trump has made similar claims against two other Trump antagonists, New York AG Letitia James and Federal Reserve Board of Governors Member Lisa Cook. Swalwell strongly disputes the allegations and filed a suit against Pulte on November 25. Looking at the polls, the allegations don't seem to have dented his star with potential Primary voters.Swalwell joined us on Thursday for a conversation about his candidacy, how he plans to address the state's affordability crisis, his experiences as a local official, navigating familial political divides, the temperature in congress, the Democratic Party brand, and much, much more. Today on Mea Culpa, I'm joined by Congressman and hopefully future California Governor, Eric Swalwell, to cut through the chaos of Trump's America. We break down Trump's potentially illegal attacks on so-called “drug boats” and how Congress is finally pushing back. We also unpack the explosive Russia–Ukraine peace-talk leaks, Trump's escalating attacks on immigrants, and the cracks forming inside the MAGA movement. I also ask Swalwell about his decision to leave the House to run for Governor, and how he plans to keep holding Trump accountable from a new seat of power. In this episode of The Wright Report, Bryan covers the Pentagon's new Inspector General findings on Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's use of the Signal app, Eric Swalwell's push for voting by phone, new revelations about how the Afghan terrorist in Washington was radicalized, a Senate bill that would end dual citizenship, and promising research on depression and mental health. Pentagon IG Clears Hegseth of Wrongdoing: The Inspector General found that senior Trump officials violated protocol by discussing Yemen strike operations on the Signal app, but that Hegseth had legal authority to declassify what he shared. The report warns that using personal devices creates risk, although no adversary appears to have intercepted the information. Bryan describes the episode as sloppy tradecraft that prompted the administration to tighten internal communications procedures. Swalwell Pushes Voting by Phone: California Democrat Eric Swalwell is proposing phone-based voting, insisting it can be secure. Bryan counters with his CIA experience, explaining that any phone-based voting system would be a prime target for foreign intelligence services. He argues that electronic voting in any form creates undetectable vulnerabilities that nations like China and Russia would exploit. How the Afghan Terrorist Was Radicalized: New reporting shows that Rahmanullah Lakanwal told his wife he was meeting with members of the Tablighi Jamaat, a Deobandi revivalist movement with a long history of extremism. The group has terror cells in parts of the United States, and Lakanwal previously assisted the CIA in killing their members overseas. Bryan explains why investigators are now trying to determine whether cells in Phoenix, San Diego, Chicago, Indianapolis, or on the East Coast are connected to the attack. Senator Proposes Ending Dual Citizenship: Ohio Senator Bernie Moreno introduced a bill requiring Americans to hold only United States citizenship. He argues that dual allegiance creates legal and security conflicts and says becoming an American should be an all-or-nothing commitment. Bryan encourages listeners who support the idea to contact their senators and weigh in. Mental Health Research Offers Hope: Studies show that taking a weeklong break from social media reduces depression and insomnia. British researchers also found that nitrous oxide treatments can rapidly improve severe depression when other therapies fail, and exercise and time in nature remain highly effective for anxiety and mood disorders. "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." - John 8:32 Keywords: Pentagon IG report, Signal app, Pete Hegseth declassification authority, Eric Swalwell voting by phone, NSA hacking risks electronic voting, Rahmanullah Lakanwal Tablighi Jamaat radicalization, dual citizenship, Exclusive Citizenship Act, depression research nitrous oxide, social media break mental health

Join Jim and Greg for the Tuesday 3 Martini Lunch as they enjoy watching social media accounts purporting to be Americans get exposed for being based overseas. They also respond to Rep. Eric Swalwell claiming that people vote by phone all over the country and shake their heads at still more insanity from Tennessee Dem Aftyn Behn.First, they applaud Elon Musk for the new feature revealing where X accounts are based. It's exposed some prominent MAGA accounts with no personal names to be based in foreign countries. Also, people claiming to be reporters based in Gaza were discovered to be in several different countries. Jim and Greg offer some helpful tips to avoid getting lured in by these sorts of accounts.Next, they slam Rep. Swalwell, who is now running for Governor of California. In an interview on CNN, Swalwell said he wants Californians to be able to vote through their phones because it's already happening in many places across the country. No, it's not. Jim and Greg also do a quick review of the Democrats in the governor's race and warn Californians that whomever emerges from the primary will be bad news for the state. Finally, they serve another martini on Aftyn Behn, the Democrat running in a special congressional election in Tennessee next week. In addition to comments that she hates Nashville (which is in the congressional district) and country music, she would not walk back anti-police comments from 2020. Now, there is audio of Behn saying she doesn't want children, she wants power, while explaining why she believes women should not have children. Oh, and there's yet another example of her screaming while protesting and being dragged away. Please visit our great sponsors:Reach out. Trump's legal team appears to be a bit set back by legal rulings in the James Comey and Letitia James cases, but as the adage says, "It ain't over till it's over." The DOJ has six months to re-file indictments against them. And for general interest, two of our favorite villains, Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell are about to get in similar legal hock. Stay tuned!

In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan examines the rising risk of war with Venezuela, secret peace talks over Ukraine, the abduction of Christian schoolchildren in Nigeria, Israel's shifting posture in Gaza and Lebanon, and the domestic political fight over sedition and extremist rhetoric inside the United States government. U.S. and Venezuela Move Closer to War: President Trump authorized covert CIA operations inside Venezuela, prompting the FAA to warn airlines about dangerous conditions in Venezuelan airspace. Reports from Bloomberg, Reuters, and the New York Times confirm GPS jamming and rising military activity. A Russian oil tanker headed for Caracas was turned away twice by the USS Stockdale and is now anchored off Cuba. Bryan notes that the White House still hopes for a peaceful exit by President Maduro, with Colombia offering asylum in exchange for guarantees of no future attempts to kill or arrest him. Trump's Ukraine Peace Plan Faces Pushback: A secret twenty-eight-point peace plan leaked last week, calling for Ukraine to give up parts of the Donbas, reduce its military to six hundred thousand troops, and abandon NATO membership. The plan would also restore economic ties between Russia and the West and release frozen Russian funds for joint rare earth projects. European leaders object, and President Zelenskyy says negotiations must continue, insisting Ukraine needs a larger standing army to deter future invasions. Bryan emphasizes that Trump wants the deal signed by Thanksgiving, warning Zelenskyy that U.S. support may end if he refuses. Ukraine's Deepening Corruption Crisis: Fifteen to thirty percent of aid intended for Ukraine's military and energy needs has been stolen, according to recent reporting. Several allies of Zelenskyy have been arrested, and the president's key aide, Andriy Yermak, is widely suspected of involvement. Ukraine's anti-corruption agency plans more indictments this week, placing Zelenskyy in a weakened negotiating position. Islamists Kidnap Christian Children in Nigeria: Three hundred Christian students were abducted from a Catholic school in central Nigeria. About fifty escaped by fleeing into the forest and hiding until farmers rescued them. Boko Haram and other jihadist factions are believed to be responsible. Bryan warns that these groups aim to build an Islamic caliphate across the Sahel and into the Gulf of Guinea, threatening regional Christians and strategic minerals such as cocoa, iron ore, bauxite, and oil. Trump has warned Nigeria that failure to protect Christians could trigger U.S. military action. Israel Reshapes Gaza and Expands Strikes in Lebanon: U.S. troops are withdrawing from Gaza's coordination center. Israeli, Arab, and vetted Palestinian officials will manage reconstruction in a new "Green Zone," while unvetted Palestinians remain in a devastated area controlled by Hamas. Polling shows Hamas' support has risen inside Gaza, meaning roughly half the population may remain under militant control. Israel also intensified operations in Lebanon, killing Hezbollah's top military commander in a drone strike despite an ongoing ceasefire. Jewish Extremists Spark Crisis in the West Bank: Prime Minister Netanyahu convened emergency meetings after Jewish extremists torched Palestinian homes and cars in a village attack. Israeli officials say about two hundred seventy young men are responsible for the most recent incidents and vow to act. Sedition Caucus Escalates Rhetoric Against Trump: Former CIA, FBI, and military officials who now serve as Democrats in Congress released a video urging service members to resist unlawful orders from President Trump. Senator Elissa Slotkin admitted she knows of no unlawful orders but says such orders might come. Bryan calls the effort a psychological operation designed to sow confusion inside the military. Legal experts warn that service members who refuse lawful orders could face court-martial and prison. Trump Meets NYC's Socialist Mayor Elect: Zohran Mamdani met with President Trump on Friday, and the two agreed on issues such as electricity costs and housing. Mamdani later repeated his belief that Trump is a fascist and a Nazi, prompting Republican leaders like Elise Stefanik to call Mamdani a jihadist with a long documented history of radical associations. Bryan argues the evidence strongly supports Stefanik's view and warns against normalizing Mamdani's ideology. Eric Swalwell Runs for Governor of California: Representative Swalwell announced his campaign on Jimmy Kimmel Live, promising to lead the "Resistance" against Trump. Bryan revisits the long-running Chinese influence operation that targeted young California Democrats, including Swalwell, and raises questions about whether the FBI ever thoroughly investigated the network linked to his former associate Fang Fang. Good News in Medicine: Japanese researchers found that the amino acid arginine significantly reduced Alzheimer's-related plaque and inflammation in animal studies. Dosing remains experimental, but Bryan notes it could offer a promising option for families exploring right-to-try pathways. The 2026 race for governor of California is heating up, with East Bay Rep. Eric Swalwell announcing his bid on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” last night. Swalwell enters an increasingly crowded race that billionaire climate activist Tom Steyer also jumped into this week. Plus, Attorney General Rob Bonta told KQED that people are urging him to join, leaving the door open to a possible run. Scott, Marisa and Guy discuss the status of the race as 40% of voters remain undecided. They also take a look at the contest to fill Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi's seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, as San Francisco Supervisor Connie Chan becomes the latest candidate joining state Sen. Scott Wiener and Saikat Chakrabarti, the former chief of staff to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Check out Political Breakdown's weekly newsletter, delivered straight to your inbox. In this conversation with Marc Elias, Swalwell sounds the alarm on Trump's growing attempts to weaponize government power — from deploying the military in U.S. cities to shutting down Congress and blocking the release of Epstein files — all as part of a strategy to protect himself and undermine American democracy ahead of the 2026 election. Join Jim and Greg for Monday's 3 Martini Lunch as they call out Democrats and the media for lying about Charlie Kirk's assassin, criticize Attorney General Pam Bondi for forgetting the First Amendment, and laugh at Pete Buttigieg's sudden admission that Joe Biden should never have run for re-election.First, they update the latest evidence in the case against the shooter who assassinated Charlie Kirk last week in Utah and then hammer elected Democrats and leftists in the media who stressed that the parents were Republicans and tried to peddle the fiction that killer was mad that Kirk was not far right enough, even after the facts were painfully obvious.Next, Jim and Greg reprimand Attorney General Pam Bondi for threatening to prosecute people for their despicable celebrations of Charlie Kirk's murder. She also demanded employers fire any employees who did that. They remind Bondi that public pressure on employers over that kind of speech is very different than the government filing charges or trying to get people fired. Jim says that's exactly what the left has been trying to do to conservatives for years. Finally, they laugh as former Transportation Sec. Pete Buttigieg weakly follows Kamala Harris' lead and says Joe Biden definitely should not have run for re-election in 2024. But Buttigieg, who also never said a word about his alleged concerns, says it's just time to move on now. Please visit our great sponsors:If your business can't adapt in real-time, you're in a world of hurt. Economy DAVID BLACKMON: Offshore Wind's Mask Finally Comes Off On Monday, Aug. 11, 2025, Danish offshore wind giant Ørsted dropped a bombshell, notifying the market it plans a massive rights issue worth up to 60 billion Danish kroner (about $9.4 billion) to prop up its flailing offshore U.S. operations. The plan, which amounts to almost 50% of Ørsted's market cap, is a desperation move driven by the forces of reality and President Donald Trump's no-nonsense energy policies. Ørsted's stock took a nosedive in the wake of Monday's announcement, cratering as much as 31.2% in Copenhagen trading, erasing billions in value overnight. The panic comes as the company is scrambling to fund its Sunrise Wind project — a 924-megawatt eyesore off New York's coast — and shore up another 8.1 gigawatts of planned capacity through 2027. Ørsted says the cash infusion is a direct response to what it delicately calls “material adverse developments” in the U.S. market. Translated to plain English, this means Ørsted, whose normal business model would have involved selling a large minority share to investors to raise needed capital, has been unable to find any buyers as Trump's energy policy revolution takes hold. In mid-July, the Department of Defense struck a multi-billion-dollar deal with MP Materials, America's sole rare earth miner, guaranteeing a minimum price of $110 per kilogram for neodymium-praseodymium (NdPr) oxide. That price floor, which is nearly double the current China-based market rate of around $60/kg, aims to incentivize domestic production of the super-strong magnets used in EV motors, wind turbines, and defense systems. Officials and analysts describe the move as a game-changer for the industry. By establishing a higher Western pricing benchmark, the U.S. hopes to offset China's long-standing tactic of undercutting prices to maintain its dominance. “This benchmark is now a new center of gravity in the industry that will pull prices up,” notes Adamas Intelligence, adding that it could bolster non-Chinese producers globally.
