While the Texas Longhorns' baseball team made an early exit from the SEC Tournament, Texas still managed to grab the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Baseball tournament. That not only affords them friendly confines for the first two weekends of the tournament, but also grants them a favorable draw en route to Omaha. The ladies are heading to the Women's College World Series, despite drama to open the Super Regional against the Clemson Tigers. Texas now heads back to Oklahoma City on a collission course with the Oklahoma Sooners if they can get past the Florida Gators.

Rapid Fire topics include: * Which Notre Dame player are you more confident will have a career year: wide receiver Jayden Thomas or vyper defensive end Jordan Botelho? * We talked on Monday's show about how Notre Dame should approach its future scheduling in an expanded CFP era. A listener said on YouTube that he thinks ND needs to have one of the top-10 toughest schedules annually to stay independent. He says he wants Big 10 teams like Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue and Ohio State on a constant rotation. Do you Buy or Sell more Big 10 teams on the schedule? * The NCAA has approved allowing commercial sponsor advertisements on football fields for regular-season games beginning this season. Do you think Notre Dame will ever put sponsor logos on the field at Notre Dame Stadium? * Thoughts on comments from Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer about rookie former Irish linebacker Marist Liufau. * Fill-in the blank...Former Notre Dame baseball coach Paul Mainieri is expected to be named South Carolina's new head coach and you are BLANK. * USA Basketball officially released the women's basketball Olympic roster today and they say they left Caitlin Clark off the team because they don't think she has enough high-level experience. Do you Buy or Sell that rationale? * After Oklahoma won its fourth straight women's college world series and its seventh overall national championship since 2013, there have been some outcries to move the WCWS out of Oklahoma City. For the third time in four years, the Texas Longhorns claimed the prize for the top athletics department in the land with the Director's Cup. The season didn't quite finish off how they hoped, with the softball team falling in the WCWS final to the Oklahoma Sooners, but still one of the best years in school history. Led by championships in Volleyball and Rowing, all but two of the varsity sports finished the season ranked. We also dive in on coaching changes for the women's golf team and the rest of the All-Americans on campus.
It's time! The “Off the Wall” segment has been pushed into a separate episode, and this one is a doozy. Tom Canterbury and Gray Robertson gather together to read some of the most asinine comments of the season, including disgusting lines from website editors, quitting quotes from fans, and everything in between. Then, the guys discuss some of the recent controversies to hit social media since the WCWS, including what constitutes success in softball, the constant moving of the goalposts by fans, and plenty more fiery topics. Finally, Tom and Gray close by explaining why this segment exists and the need to eradicate the ridiculousness in the Alabama fanbase. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/out-of-the-box9/support

The guys open the show with some brief talk about the OU softball team beating Florida and advancing to the WCWS. It leads to Lee admitting that he does not care much at all for the spring sports, so if you want in depth baseball/softball analysis -- go somewhere else (1:30). We've recently learned new kickoff times for OU games this fall. None of them are at 11am. Isn't this what we were waiting for? Grant really wants to go to the LSU game late in the year (7:00). Let's all laugh at Lincoln Riley trying to get out of playing LSU. Grant's been watching games from 2017 and he says Riley looks the same then as he does now. The guys debate whether OU would have beaten Alabama in the National Championship game in 2017. Grant says no, Lee says yes (16:30). We react to CBS's head coach rankings. Riley is ranked high simply because of his overall record, right? Brent Venables vs Lincoln Riley right now. Venables vs. Marcus Freeman? Eli Drinkwitz is ranked way too high. Plus all the coaches we would rather have over Sark (30:50). We evaluate the linebackers on the Sooners' roster by putting all of them into 1 of 6 categories (48:00). | Like the show on Facebook: @westofeverest | Follow Grant on Twitter: @GrantBenson25 | Follow Lee on Twitter: @LeeBensonTweets
