Along with Chris Tomlin, Ben Fielding has released a new single, 'First Hymn' which is a reworking of the world’s oldest Christian hymn discovered with lyrics and musical notation. The song launch comes ahead of the release of a documentary, ‘The First Hymn’, produced by Undeceptions, which tracks the discovery of the old hymn on papyrus in the sands of an ancient Egyptian city, and the process of giving it back to the world. Ben joined Clayton to chat more about this amazing project! Listen in to also hear 'The First Hymn' as Ben and Clayton speak. Ben Fielding is a GRAMMY award winning, multi-platinum, Australian songwriter and artist. A prolific song-writer, Ben has written many of the most sung and loved modern hymns across the Church globally. He is the only songwriter to have four songs reach #1 on CCLI as the most sung songs in the global Church: Goodness of God, What A Beautiful Name, Who You Say I Am and Mighty to Save. Ben also wrote the certified Gold This I Believe (The Creed) which, like The First Hymn, is the translation of an ancient text into a modern worship song.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Chris McClure shares how we have been made for so much more, but we need to make room for more of Christ in us. We need to surrender to His plan which is so much better than any plans we can create. Today's Music: Great Is Thy Fairhfulness, From the Inside Out, What A Beautiful Name, and I Surrender
Today, we watched a video on discipleship and then had a time of sharing our stories of what God has done in our lives. Today's Music: Angels We Have Heard On High, What A Beautiful Name, Jesus Does, and Only A Holy God
In this series called "Passion Projects" our teaching team shares personal insights about aspects of life and faith they are passionate about. In Part I, Jeremy Edelen encourages us to challenge our perspective of God because oftentimes it's far too small. Our view of God impacts everything - our decisions, relationships, and how we see the world and ourselves. Expanding our perspective of the greatness and wonder of God changes everything! Jesus didn't make it difficult for people to turn to God, he made it simple. This idea is based on biblical principles found in the book of Acts. This is one of the most foundational passages that informs and inspires so much of what we do at Northpoint. In this message series, we will share how Northpoint started, where we are headed, and what our dreams and goals are with you in mind. We want to make it clear where to go, what to expect, and how to see yourself here. We want to be intentional about our environments with the assumption that we have guests every single week mustering up the courage to give church a shot. We want to know! If there is anything we are doing that is making it weird or difficult to engage, we want to know. If there is anything that you think would make it feel safer for you to invite a friend, we want to know that too! ➡️ https://forms.gle/22wAErj81WtnBSDT8MUSIC:GiantsWhat A Beautiful NameRun To The FatherNEXT STEPS: Wherever you are, we want to help you discover what's next.https://www.npaustin.com/whatsnextSTAY CONNECTED: Subscribe to stay up-to-date on all things Northpoint: https://www.youtube.com/@NorthpointAustinWebsite: https://npaustin.com/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/experienceno...Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/northpoint_ch/ABOUT US:We believe that for too long, the church has been known for what it's against. For the Strength of Youth To help you find the Way and to help you make Christ's doctrine the guiding influence in your life, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has prepared a new resource, a revised version of For the Strength of Youth. For over 50 years, For the Strength of Youth has been a guide for generations of Latter-day Saint youth. I always keep a copy in my pocket, and I share it with people who are curious about our standards. It has been updated and refreshed to better cope with the challenges and temptations of our day. The new version of For the Strength of Youth is available online in 50 different languages and will also be available in print. It will be a significant help for making choices in your life. Please embrace it as your own and share it with your friends. This new version of For the Strength of Youth is subtitled A Guide for Making Choices. To be very clear, the best guide you can possibly have for making choices is Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the strength of youth. So the purpose of For the Strength of Youth is to point you to Him. It teaches you eternal truths of His restored gospel—truths about who you are, who He is, and what you can accomplish with His strength. It teaches you how to make righteous choices based on those eternal truths.13 It's also important to know what For the Strength of Youth does not do. It doesn't make decisions for you. It doesn't give you a “yes” or “no” about every choice you might ever face. For the Strength of Youth focuses on the foundation for your choices. It focuses on values, principles, and doctrine instead of every specific behavior. The Lord, through His prophets, has always been guiding us in that direction. He is pleading with us to “increase [our] spiritual capacity to receive revelation.”14 He is inviting us to “hear Him.”15 He is calling us to follow Him in higher and holier ways.16 And we are learning in a similar way every week in Come, Follow Me. Isn't it crazy how in the midst of grief and tragedy, God can call us towards our purpose? This is exactly the story of today's guest, Anne Wilson. For much of her life, Anne had plans and dreams to become an astronaut, making moves to pursue opportunities with NASA. But in 2017, her life shifted after the unexpected passing of her older brother. The lyrics of Hillsong Worship's “What A Beautiful Name” became a lifeline for Anne and she turned to worship as comfort in her grief, something she had never done before. The very first time Anne ever sang in front of an audience was at her brother's funeral. It was at that moment that she realized what she was born to do.Anne is just 20-years-old but truly has wisdom beyond her years. I was so encouraged by our conversation and how God is using her to change lives. She just released her first full-length album, My Jesus, and I cannot recommend it enough!Connect with JamieFacebook // Twitter // Instagram // YouTubeGET ALL THE LINKS FROM THE SHOW HERE

When the Israelites complain for a third time, even Moses grows frustrated and begins to fear for his life. Even when our circumstances may seem to indicate otherwise, we must always be confident in God's abiding presence with us and not doubt his love and concern. God can provide for us in the most miraculous of ways; we need only keep our eyes upon him.Songs: Graves Into Gardens© 2019 Brandon Lake, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, and Tiffany Hammer | CCLI Song #7138219 -- CCLI License #420630Build My Life© 2016 Brett Younker, Karl Martin, Kirby Kable, Matt Redman, and Pat Barrett | CCLI Song #7070345 -- CCLI License #420630What A Beautiful Name© 2016 Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood | CCLI Song #7068424 -- CCLI License #420630

"You didn't want Heaven without us, SO Jesus you brought heaven down". Words are powerful. A two letter word cam so quickly change something from biblical truth to stretching it. This week Austin dives into the song "What A Beautiful Name" and what type of thinking verse two promotes.Hold on tight, it might get bumpy.
Not of this World – 1 Corinthians 2:6-16While we seek to be winsome and engaging with the world around us, we need remember that the wisdom he gives is not of the world and will not be understood by those who do not know him unless revealed to them by the Spirit. We need grow comfortable that we will, at times, appear very foolish before an unbelieving world.Never LostCCLI #7134788 | Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, and Tiffany Hammer© 2019What A Beautiful NameCCLI #7068424 | Ben Fielding and Brooke Ligertwood© 2016Agnus DeiCCLI #626713 | Smith, Michael W.© 1990 | Notes | Praise, WorshipGraves Into GardensCCLI #7138219 | Brandon Lake, Chris Brown, Steven Furtick, and Tiffany Hammer© 2019
Until Christ returns, each one of us at some point will die and the reality of death casts a long dark shadow over all our pursuits. However, for the redeemed in Christ, we cry out, “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” (1 Corinthians 15:55). For the child of God, while death is not the end, its presence here and now should drive us to cherish and enjoy life while we can. 1. Death is unavoidable (vs. 1-3)2. The apostle Paul is grateful for all God had done in the church of Corinth, as we too celebrate what God has done over 40 years of Woodmen. While the Corinthians were divided and quarreled among themselves, we rejoice that the ministry of Woodmen has never been about any one person or group of people, but a community of believers unified in the same mind and the same judgment proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ. 1. When Joseph, a good and just man, learned that his betrothed, Mary, was with child he was unwilling to put her to shame and resolved to divorce her quietly. As he was considering these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him and told him to “not fear to take Mary as your wife, for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit” (Matthew 1:20). This son was to be named Jesus “for he will save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). This son has come and this Christmas Eve we celebrate his offer of forgiveness to all and declare the one name under heaven by which men and women can be saved. While like Joseph this news can catch many off-guard, we pray that they will respond in obedient faith like him. THEME - GRACE1. A divine beginning (v. 18)2. A good man (v. 19)3. As we continue our week on God's heart to meet with man, today we'll look at the best example I can think of. Many of us doubt the love of God due to all kinds of circumstances, but I pray today you become even a little bit more convinced and sure of his pursuit and unconditional love for you specifically. Open your heart today and allow God to give you a renewed sense of how much you mean to him. Our Scripture for today comes from Matthew 1:23, and today's worship is What A Beautiful Name by Hillson Worship. First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. Though presented with many opportunities to share the gospel, Paul and Timothy listen to the leading of the Spirit and go to Troas where Paul is confronted with the vision of a man urging them to Macedonia; there they meet Lydia who will trust in Christ and become a supporter of the church. God often leads us in directions we do not immediately understand, but in hindsight can recognize his good and loving purposes.1. God has plans (vs. 6-8)2. We need to listen (vs. 9-12)3. Not every challenge the church faces will come from the outside. At times, good men and women who love Jesus will disagree with one another and it is naïve to think otherwise. As followers of Christ, we must be faithful to what we feel God is leading us to and trust that, even in conflict, God is working all things out according to his plan.1. What does it look like to live as citizens of God's Kingdom in today's world? Let's take a look at the letter Jeremiah wrote to kingdom exiles over 2,500 years ago, and see how it informs our role as catalysts for Kingdom activity in our community.SONGSGreat Things #7111321 by J Myrin & P WickhamPhil Wickham Music Who You Say I Am #7102401 by B Fielding & R Morgan2017 Hillsong Music Publishing What A Beautiful Name #7068424 by B Fielding & B Ligertwood2016 Hillsong Music PublishingCrown Him (Majesty) #6463818 by M Bridges, E Cash, G J Elvey, M Maher, G Thring & C Tomlin2013 Alletrop Music, Sixsteps SongsNo Other Name #7019979 by J Houston & J Myrin2014 © Hillsong Music Publishing
Jesus Christ was crucified and took the penalty for the sins of the world upon himself. By his death we are offered access to God through faith. Ironically, it was a Roman centurion who after witnessing his death would confess, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:39). Every one of us must recognize Jesus' death on our behalf and acknowledge him as the Son of God who died in our place. 1. Jesus was crucified (vs. 21-32)2. Jesus was forsaken (vs. 33-34)3. The disciples seek to make preparations for the celebration of the Passover and Jesus foretells of his coming betrayal. At the Passover meal, Jesus institutes what we will come to call The Lord's Supper and identifies himself with the bread and the cup. When Jesus foretells of Peter's coming denial, Peter emphatically rejects it. When we approach the Lord's table today, we are reminded of his body given for us and his blood shed for the forgiveness of our sins.1. His plan (vs. 12-16)2. God's purpose (vs. 17-21)3. As we continue our week-long focus on 7 longings of the human heart, today we're going to look at the longing we all share for beauty. God has created beauty all around us, beauty we can see and beauty we can feel. And in a world so inundated with false notions of beauty, today my prayer is that God reveals the purity within this longing that resides within each of our hearts, and his perfect plans to satisfy it. The titles and main concept for this week are all derived from The Seven Longings of the Human Heart by Mike Bickle and Deborah Hiebert. Our Scripture for today comes from Psalm 149:4 (AMP), and today's worship is What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship featuring Brooke Fraser. First15 is a daily devotional written and recorded by Craig Denison. If you would like to learn more about the First15 app, books, blogs, videos and our other resources, please visit first15.org. At the beginning of the Passover week, in fulfillment of Old Testament prophecy, Jesus enters Jerusalem riding on a donkey. The people hail him as their Davidic messiah, laying their cloaks and leafy branches on the ground with shouts of “Hosanna!” In a culture that does not see, we acknowledge Christ as our Messiah and affirm that one day all people will recognize Jesus for who he truly is.1. Jesus knew who he was (vs. 1-3)2. Jesus wanted them to see (vs. 4-6)3. They saw but did not recognize (vs. 7-10)4. A young man thinks that his acts of righteousness should secure him eternal life. Jesus reveals the duplicity of the young man's heart by instructing him to sell all that he has. Regrettably, “he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” (Mark 10:22b). We must never allow the accumulation of earthly wealth to supersede our love for God.1. When we think about being a follower of Jesus Christ, we don't usually think of this in terms of how we handle our money and possessions. And in the context of the church, we commonly think about money in terms of what God wants from us. We will explore God's foundational perspective on wealth in the OT and NT and how He ultimately wants our hearts.1. David's Prayer: Honor God with everything (I Chronicles 29:10-19)2. Wherever my treasure is, my heart will follow (Matthew 6:21)3. Our Scripture for today comes from Matthew 1:23, and today's worship is What A Beautiful Name by Hillsong Worship featuring Brooke Ligertwood. All too often our prayers can center around ourselves, our loved ones, or those closest to us. The apostle Paul sets a radical example in that he prayed, often, for those he had never even met! We too should work to ensure our prayers are not self-centered but also include lifting up brothers and sisters in Christ, even though we may have no earthly relationship with them at all. It can begin by praying more for those in our church!1. Pray for others (v. 9)2. Pray for their “walk” (vs. 10-14) a. For “fruit” (v. 10b) b. For knowledge (v. 10c) c. For strength (v. 11) d.
