We all want to hear God's voice. This is especially true when we need to hear from him about things that are important to us.   In the previous episode, Terry and Scot discussed how important it is to mediate on scripture to hear God's voice. In this podcast, they talk about a subject that is not very often discussed today: praying in our prayer language, or praying in tongues.   What does it mean to pray in tongues? Praying in tongues is when a person prays in a language that is unknown to the one praying, and led by the Holy Spirit. A prayer language is a gift given to believers by the Holy Spirit that anyone can receive but not everyone does.   Have you received the gift of speaking in tongues? If so, when was the last time you dedicated yourself to praying in your prayer language? When Terry was a young Christian, he spent hours praying in the Spirit and often received very clear direction from God. Today, Christians often don't have the patience or discipline to linger in the presence of God long enough to really hear from him. The Holy Spirit is asking for our time and willingness to wait on him. If we are willing to give him our time, he is willing to reveal the secret things of God and to perform miracles.   We challenge you to pray in your prayer language, if we have received it. Listen to what God is saying to your spirit, and don't be shy about sharing what he says with people in your life. May you experience breakthroughs as you commit to linger with God in prayer.

The Caffey family are resting peacefully in their beds in the Emory Texas home when all of a sudden someone bursts through the bedroom door. Shots ring out and both Terry Caffey and his wife Penny are being riddled with bullets. Terry jumps up from his bed even though he was shot and at that time, not even aware of how many times, he rushes out to go to his children. As he is attempting to get to the boys, he heard Matthew, age 13, cry out asking ‘why are you doing this? Why are you doing this?” Shots again ring out. Terry has made it into the hall and is trapped as fire is taking over the house. With nowhere else to go, Terry rushes back into his bedroom. It is at this time, he sees his wife Penny and knows it is too late for her: she is gone. When Terry was gone from the bedroom, a sword the family had on a wall for decoration, had been removed and used on Penny, nearly decapitating her. Terry, shot many times, is now running on adrenaline and knows he needs to get out, to get help because if he dies in this house, no one will know who committed this atrocity to his family. But he knows, he knows who it is and why they did it but what he doesn’t yet know will break his heart and shock the community. Jamie Foxx voices Joe Gardner, a middle-aged music teacher at a New York public middle school, frustrated by his lack of success toward becoming a professional jazz club musician. He's offered full-time status with the school when another door of opportunity opens. A former student mentions that a legendary jazz saxophonist named Dorothea Williams is auditioning for a new pianist in her jazz ensemble. Nailing the audition, Joe is exuberant, failing to notice an open manhole before falling into it. He next finds himself disassociated with his body in an afterlife existence, a soul waiting for its final destination (dubbed "The Great Beyond"). With dreams unfulfilled, Joe desperately wants his life back, escaping his fate by posing as a mentor for new souls in a pre-life training area called "The Great Before." Joe's assignment is to direct a soul called 22 to find her spark that will keep her happy and productive before assuming her role in the living world. However, 22 is a special case, spending eons avoiding the process under other mentors (even Mother Teresa lost her cool with her). When Terry, the accountant for souls, notices one is missing, she pursues Joe after he escapes back to Earth to regain his life.

College was to Terry’s ticket to freedom. It was also expected from his parents that both of their children would go to college and graduate. Unfortunately, Terry’s SAT scores were very low. He tried numerous colleges that seemed appropriate for him, but it seemed that he wasn’t “appropriate” for them. Finally, a small school in central North Carolina gave Terry that letter of acceptance that he had so anxiously awaited.Terry’s parents, like all anxious parents, waved goodbye to him for it was time to start school – his freedom. Terry turned up the stereo and was “free at last.” This new experience of being on his own was extremely overwhelming. The social activities of dorm life and fraternity parties didn’t leave much time for scholastics. After a semester and a half, Terry’s father became tired of sending him to “fun 101”. Terry didn’t keep up his end of the deal by passing classes. Tears came down his face as they pulled out of the college driveway. Terry started to wonder what he would do now.Terry decided to give college another try, but closer to home. He picked up some classes at West Virginia University in pursuit of a degree in psychology. Due to Terry’s “proud” performance of academia the first time, his GPA was less than a 2.0, he was only allowed to take a few classes. He guessed he had to prove that he had the “old college try” in perspective. The next two years at WVU Terry was putting at least a half a foot forward into the academics. He had cracked the 2.0 barrier and managed to have a fairly good social life. He enjoyed school and became involved in his psychology degree by helping other graduate students with their research, grunt work. It really provided him with a firm sense that he wanted to help others via his degree. About halfway into his junior year, Terry’s credits were all out of order so he took the summer looking for a job. His father had just acquired some property up in northern Canada; Terry’s childhood dream was about to come true.Terry’s dad wanted to build a cottage, nestled in the trees, and looking out upon the lake, kind of an “On Golden Pond” feature. Terry’s friend Sean and his cousin Todd were also jobless, so Terry proposed to his father that they help build the cottage. They loaded Terry’s vehicle with hammers, nails, paints and other building materials. When Terry met the foreman he was told that “black muck” was found where the cottage was to be built. The best way to describe it was like black Jell-O. The land had to be cleared out before they could proceed with building the cottage.Well, that gave Terry about a week to do nothing but fish, how relaxing. As May was coming to an end, the weather began to warm and presenting a far greater problem than he could ever realize… black flies. These things can eat you alive and practically drive you crazy. The Canadians were used to them, but to Terry it was pure hell. They were told not to wear anything fragrant because it would attract flies. After about two weeks of stinking, they decided it was time to clean up and do laundry. While driving back from their laundry excursion from a remote Indian town, Terry told his friends to be on the lookout for wildlife. Turning a corner, Terry’s headlights fell upon some unexpected wildlife; a bull moose was standing in the middle of the road. Terry locked his brakes and told his friends that they were going to hit it. As the car came to a stop, Terry called out to see if they were alright. They said they were, but how was Terry?  Terry could not move. His head was bent down to his chest because the roof of the car on it.After the moose was off the car, Terry’s friends tried pulling the roof off him. He told them that would be futile plus he did not need to be moved. A passing car was flagged down and took Terry’s cousin back to town for help. The nearest ambulance was 60 miles away and would end up taking an hour and a half to get to Terry. As he was sitting in the car, a lot of thoughts went through his mind. How badly hurt was he?  Did he have any cuts on head?  Was he going to live?  Terry felt a peace of mind come over him; he was ready to accept what was to be.Terry found that he had a spinal cord injury and was a quadriplegic. He couldn’t move from his neck down and required 24 hours a day help 7 days a week. After two months in intensive care at a Toronto hospital, he went back to his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for rehabilitation. Terry’s family and friends were very supportive, expecting nothing more than the same old Terry. As he began his rehabilitation, Terry began to think about his future. He had completed over half of his college credits. He contacted his college advisor and told him what happened. They were able to work out an independent study project. Terry didn’t want to waste any more time, he want to continue to pursue his college degree. He was even more determined to work in a field of helping others. The campus at WVU was too hilly to navigate so he was able to work out a program with WVU and the University of Pittsburgh to take classes at Pitt. The credits would be transferred to WVU. That summer he began classes at Pitt. He spent the next couple of years completing his education and graduated in 1980. Terry was very proud and glad that he had completed his undergraduate degree in psychology. He was now ready to hit the job market and he thought that surely somebody would hire a college graduate. For two years Terry worked at a county run nursing facility, but it just wasn’t what he wanted. He completed an application to attend Pitt’s School of Counselor Education and the School of Social Work so he could receive his masters degree. He was accepted to the social work program with an emphasis on counseling. Keep in mind that during his bachelors program Terry was basically a “C” student. He was now forced to a higher level of learning, which means that he needed to become an “A – B” student. After 18 months of intense education, Terry had done it. He earned a Masters in Social Work.Terry was able to work in such settings as rehabilitation hospitals, community mental health, advocacy programs, and at the present, the State Department of Health of Tennessee. Terry was able to look back at what was a traumatic event that has impacted his life greatly in a very positive sense. Terry knew that he could accomplish what he set out to do regardless of his “disability,” which at many times is very much an “ability”. Tragedy can strike when you least expect it and in the most unexpected fashion. It is how one uses this experience and turns it into a positive that makes them a “winner.” Terry overcame adversity which he thought would be impossible; Terry was a “winner.”Thanks for listening in advance and have a bless day.To learn more about James, visit Professor of Perseverance. Thank you and enjoy the show!! *** Just when we thought this show was focused on the aftermath of Arabella’s sexual assault, we get Episode 6: an exploration of race, progress, inclusion, exclusion, past sins, and current blindspots. These issues are explored within the framework of sexual assault, but here each of the main characters is getting some things right and other things very wrong. (00:32) *** At the start of Episode 6 Terry is so focused on helping Arabella cope in a positive way that she is blind to Kwame’s obvious distance and pain. Arabella reveals that she plans to attend a survivors’ support group run by Theo, an old classmate and Terry clearly does not approve. When Arabella shares with the group that she is here to learn how to avoid being raped our hearts are literally crushed. (01:30) *** We loved traveling back to 2004, a time of flip phones and high school versions of Theo, Arabella and Terry. With Theo, we see another sexual experience go from consensual to a non-consensual photographing of it and then take a truly bizarre twist when Theo claims to have been raped at knifepoint by the Black boy she was hooking up with. When Terry and Arabella realize the lie, they report it, outing Theo and forming “the Alliance” with their black classmates against Theo. (04:44) *** But the brilliance of this show is that nothing is clear cut. When we learn about Theo’s childhood trauma we have some empathy for her actions at school, but we can’t agree on whether learning this new information about her makes her remarks at the support group more or less credible. Our heads are spinning. (12:10) *** Episode 7 explores race, consent, exploitation, privilege, public persona vs private life and even veganism and the climate crisis. Back in the present day, the episode starts with Arabella struggling financially and creatively with her book. Her public persona is intact but has she sacrificed her authenticity that made her who she is? (18:42) *** When Arabella reads from her new work -- “I never noticed being a woman. I was too busy being poor and Black” -- it absolutely slayed us. We get personal and share when we each noticed our gender and what a revelation that is when it happens. (22:14) *** Bella starts working for “Happy Animals”, a vegan animal food company and it’s quickly obvious that they are using her for her authentic, voice of the millennial generation, social media star power. (27:24)  *** Simon is back and the truth about what happened the night of Arabella’s assault is a lot more complicated than we thought. Oh Terry, what did you do? And now that she is helping Arabella heal, we debate whether her intentions even matter. As always, everything is grey. (31:07) *** Terry’s birthday party starts out hot and fun, but quickly turns when Kwame reveals the story of his first sexual experience. Arabella’s blindspot comes out when she locks Kwame in a room with another man who is clearly interested in him. Not her finest move! (39:19) *** We discuss the episode's exploration of inclusiveness vs exclusiveness -- of who gets raped, who gets assaulted, who can be included in the category of victim and who gets excluded. Can Kwame be sexually assaulted if he goes on Grinder? Terry says, except for Arabella, black women don’t do coke or get raped. It’s harsh all around. (45:45) *** Kwame is in the bedroom having flashbacks to the assault and when he reaches out to Damon we feel for him. He finally shares his assault with Terry and we hope this is a step forward for him. (50:17) *** The episode ends with a heated and fascinating discussion about “Happy Animals”. Samson goes into the complication of working for a company like that and how they are using Arabella to access their... Support this podcast

When Terry was in his 30’s, he’d reached what many would consider the pinnacle of success with his multi-billion dollar company.  He eventually reached a point of devastating burnout which led to a radical transformation in his relationship with God as well as a transformation in how he operated his business in a fast paced and high stress industry. We chat about how God shifted the way he works so he can make decisions under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and be aligned with His will for his life and business.

Andy Albright's MOVE: Principles For Getting The Best Results

The text was so simple, but the meaning behind the two words carried more weight than most would ever imagine. It was a hot day in July of 2015 in Burlington, N.C. during The Alliance’s “Leadership Conference” that is now known as “Family Reunion.” Terry Edwards had finally convinced his wife, Tia to attend a big event after asking her to attend for months. She finally agreed, but she was far from sold on being in the life insurance business. That thinking changed as Tia sat in the women’s seminar on the first day of the event, listening to the women of The Alliance share their inspirational and emotional stories. Tia, holding the couple’s newborn daughter, Taylor in her lap, was moved to tears as she heard Hollie Davies share her personal story. Any prior doubts she had were now gone. Terry was in another meeting space at the men’s seminar when the text showed up on his phone. “We’re home,” the text from Tia read. “It took me being at that event and seeing and hearing these women share their heart and stories to know that we were right where we needed to be, and I knew we were with the right people too,” Tia said. That’s the good news. To fully understand the journey of Terry and Tia Edwards, you have to go back and learn about the struggle to even find The Alliance and wind up as Agency Managers in 2019. The couple met in middle school, started dating in high school in January of 1994 (Terry was a junior and Tia was a freshman), went to Elizabeth City State University together and got married in 2001. The couple always talked about what they wanted their life to be like together even in high school. Nice house, yard full of kids, good jobs and all the “American Dream” stuff most people desire. They both got good jobs, but moved around North Carolina every couple years as Terry continued being promoted in different parts of the state. Eventually, the couple started a cleaning business as their “side hustle.” It was going so well they worked seven days a week and had to order staff to help keep up with the work. In 2009, Terry discovered network marketing and his mind started thinking bigger in terms of what income level is possible. They earned around $2,000 monthly in network marketing, but the way it changed the couple’s thinking was far more important. Full-time jobs, a janitorial business and network marketing … that’s a lot for any young couple. Something was missing, however. They wanted children, but doctor’s couldn’t explain why it wasn’t happening. Thinking it wasn’t going to happen, the Edwardses focused on adoption. Instead of adopting one child, the couple ended up adopting three children – at the same time! Immediately, Isaiah (2), Anaya (3) and Elijah (4) were adopted in 2010 on Father’s Day weekend. “That increased my drive,” Terry said. “I was focused on providing a future and a legacy for my children to follow.” Fast forward to February of 2015 and life was even sweeter. Terry just accepted his dream job as the CEO of a credit union in Atlanta, Ga. Even better, Tia was four months pregnant with Taylor at the same time. The couple packed up and moved from their house in Kernersville, N.C., sold their janitorial business and leased a home in Georgia. They hadn’t even sold their home in N.C. When Terry went to start his new job, the job offer was rescinded. With no job, a growing family to provide for and bills rolling in; Terry didn’t know how he was going to cover the bills with only his network marketing deal bringing money in. “We had double bills and what was coming in was not going to cover everything,” Terry said. “I got on the computer and searched craigslist.” Jason Mathis had posted a simple ad that read, “too many leads, not enough agents.” Edwards spoke to Mathis, got licensed and started running business quickly. Following The Alliance system, he banked $8,000 in the first 30 days. “I didn’t have anything to lose so why wouldn’t I give it a shot?” Terry said. “Tia was still skeptical then, but it was working.” Tia still was skeptical. She wasn’t sure if it was because she was pregnant or what, but she couldn’t understand why Terry was always on his phone … all day long it seemed. “I had never seen a deal where you could make that much money so fast,” Tia said. After being asked repeatedly by Mathis to go see The Alliance corporate headquarters and meet president and CEO Andy Albright, Edwards finally drove to Burlington, N.C. If he was “all in” before, his belief level reached new heights during his visit. Terry watched Brant Swindle shoot a training video, attended The Wednesday Call and met with Andy Albright in his office after the show. That conversation forever changed Terry’s outlook on success. “What captivated me was that Andy was so plain spoken,” Terry recalls. “What he said was just common-sense stuff. I couldn’t believe you could act normal, be hugely successful and make millions like he has done. I had never seen anybody like Andy.” Terry asked Albright why he continued working so hard when he clearly didn’t have to. Why keep doing it? “Andy said, ‘you are right, my grandkids are taken care of. The problem is you can’t say the same thing,’” Terry remembers. “I instantly fell in love with Andy because I was looking for a place where I could belong, where I wasn’t looked upon as a dollar bill, and my dreams and my aspirations were No. 1. We just clicked. Jane Albright met Tia and we started really building a friendship. We found out we had more in common than we do separate.” After starting with The Alliance in April of 2015, the family moved back to their Kernersville, N.C.-house because they hadn’t even had time to sell it, after Terry’s “Dream Job” fell through. Terry and Tia won a Foresters cruise to the Bahamas and a trip to Banff, Canada in their first year with The Alliance. They got to know other agents even better on those trips. Almost five years later, it’s hard to belief how many things have happened to and for Terry and Tia since joining The Alliance. “It amazes me,” Terry says with a laugh. “It hasn’t lost its luster. I never want to get to a place where I think I got it. I know I still have to work on me and there’s another level to reach. There’s more to learn and I can be a better leader, so we can attract better people. We are not content or satisfied with good. We are shooting for great. We are not where we want to be, but we are not where we used to be either.” 2019 was a tremendous year of growth for Terry and Tia. They were able to realize their dream of opening a satellite office in Kernersville, a 1,700-square-foot space with offices for agents and a meeting space for 100 people when they host HotSpot meetings each Tuesday night. Looking to 2020, Terry and Tia have set even bigger goals. They want to reach Vice President before the year ends. They want to attract better leaders and lead from the front. They want to help other people find their 'why,' then show them how to make it happen. “It’s about knowing what it is that you want and then figuring out how to get it,” Terry said. “Being fanatical is about not stopping until you get what you want. Max out your capacity. Once you get one goal accomplished, there’s the next goal. Be better today than you were yesterday; but be better tomorrow than you were today. What do you want? What can you go through to get it? That’s fanatical.” Who knows what would have happened if Tia wasn’t in the audience to hear Hollie Davies speak at the women’s seminar holding Taylor back in 2015. There’s a good chance, life would look different Terry, Tia, Elijah (14), Anaya (13), Isaiah (11) and Taylor (4), but the good news is we will never know. Tia was there, and her commitment level went through the roof. A simple text she lovingly sent to her husband changed their lives forever. It helped change The Alliance for the better too. “We are at home,” Tia says. “This is the right place with the right people. 2020 is about going all in and being a better person than you were yesterday.”

Angela Walton Raji is a researcher/ author from Fort Smith, Arkansas In 1997 Angela launched the African-Native American Web site. The page had developed out of my research and work with the records that document the Freedmen of the Five Civilized Tribes. This enormous record set became the basis of my work with “Black Indian” records and eventually formed the basis of my book, Black Genealogy Research. African American Ancestors Among the Five Civilized Tribes. In the past 12 years, my research has expanded to include the history and documentation of blended African & Native American families in more states. As a genealogist, the focus remains on providing the evidence and properly citing the sources in order to tell the family story. As I have become more familiar with resources for documentation of African American families that were associated with people from multiple Native American communities, I have expanded the focus of my research to include genealogical resources for families beyond Indian Territory. The focus will remain on relying upon standard genealogical methodology that will lead to the proper documentation of one's family history. The page will discuss and include record sets that are essential to construct one's family history. Be sure to check out the following link. He has received degrees from the University of San Francisco and the Academy of Art College located in San Francisco, CA. Over the past 30 years Mr. Ligon has been widely accepted in the genealogical community as a specialist of Indian Territory Freedmen Mr. Ligon has been an avid genealogical and historical researcher since 1989 when he was given a treasure trove of family photos, letters and documents that contained faces of people he was not familiar with. So began his remarkable journey into a family genealogy that included an oral history that his father had an Indian grandmother. Mr. Ligon was able to confirm for his father prior to his death in 1999 that his grandmother Bettie Ligon was considered herself to be a Chickasaw Indian. This discovery led to Terry's lifelong research into a lawsuit known as Equity Case 7071 which involved approximately 1500-2000 people seeking to be recognized as Chickasaw or Choctaw citizens by blood and entitled to receive three hundred and twenty acres of land based on their ancestry. When Terry's father gave him the family's heirlooms he also gave him a responsibility to share the information with his siblings. Little did his father know it would lead to Terry sharing his discoveries with many people who had similar family history? There was one more request or demand his father gave him and that was to write a book on his research. Based on all of his research and the promise he made to his father, Mr. Ligon is in the process of writing a book about his remarkable journey to discover his family's genealogy and history as well as documenting his father's Indian Grandmother Bettie Love-Ligon.     Do you need help investing in real estate? Do you understand how to grow, scale, and profitably build your company into the business that you want it to be? You’re in luck! I’ve been working for the past several years with some of the most successful real estate investors in the industry and from around the country. Names such as Andy McFarland and Bill Allen, along with myself, have built a program called “Seven Figure Flipping.” This exclusive mastermind and coaching program is designed to get you and your business to the next level. Interested in finding out more? Email me at Mike@juststartrealestate.com with the subject line “help,” and we’ll get on a call together to see if this program is a good fit for you and your business. In this episode, I chatted with a friend of mine, Terry Burger. Terry is an incredible investor and a real inspiration to those in the flipping business. One of the things I love most about Terry is that he is a family man who prioritizes his wife and kids over everything, including his business. Yet, he has managed to build an incredibly valuable business that continues to grow! He definitely shows that you can have the lifestyle you want and be successful as an entrepreneur without sacrificing your personal life. The biggest compliment, I believe, that you can give someone is that they’re a very good person. Terry Burger is one of those guys! Terry’s background is in classical music and teaching middle school. He wanted a career change and jumped into real estate. Within his first year of getting his real estate license, he sold 50 houses. The first year “I ran around like I had my hair on fire” selling and flipping homes. His wife was pregnant with their first son and was understanding and supportive of Terry in his new position. As the kids started growing, Terry realized he needed a change in his schedule, especially on Saturday mornings, when his son was playing soccer. He missed his son’s first soccer goal, and that was his stake in the ground moment when he knew his work schedule had to change. When Terry was turning 80 to 90 homes per year with his team, the recession hit. Terry went from his highest selling year to selling 12 homes in 2009. He lost his second home so he could keep his primary residence. The hardest part was his selling his Baby Grand Piano so his family could afford to live for the next three months. After the recession, Terry had to figure out a way to make money using real estate. He listened to real estate podcasts and educated himself on how to be an investor in real estate and house flipping. Terry offered one of his clients to buy his home, after getting together money from his friends, which started his involvement in flipping homes. Listen in to find out how Terry went from being a real estate agent to becoming a full-time real estate investor, how he rebuilt his team, and why he took a 50% pay cut to start his new endeavor. How the Seven Figure Mastermind gave Terry the tools to move onto the next level. Notable Quotes “Mike Simmons, it’s an honor to be here, man. You’re my hero!” -Terry Burger   “My favorite game growing up was Monopoly, so I was destined to get into real estate.” -Terry Burger   “My son played soccer, and my goal was to be at every game. I had to show a house on Saturday and missed my son’s game. My wife texted me and said, ‘Collin just scored his first goal,’ and I was devastated.”  -Terry Burger   Find out how Terry Burger turned around his crazy workweek to more effective and less crazy work life to find balance for his family.   “People leak who they are...you’re gonna leak the good stuff, you’re gonna leak the bad stuff. A leak has a source somewhere.” -Terry Burger   A turning point after the recession was when Terry found out about a local investor making money on flooded homes. “There was a huge flood that came through my area and flooded a bunch of houses which were bought by an investor. The investor told me he was making $40,000 to $50,000 on flipping houses. I went home and looked up the company, and, sure enough, it was true. He was making this type of money.” -Terry Burger   Terry was working with a client to sell his home as his realtor, and the client repeated he didn’t want to have buyers walking through his home. Realizing this was the opportunity he was looking for to become an investor, Terry offered to buy his home. “Sir, I’ve been really wanting to buy my first investment property, and I’m willing to make you an offer on your house, can you give me three or four days?” -Terry Burger   Terry remembers one of the Seven Figure Masterminds retreats he attended in San Diego. “I had two problems. One, I was still trying to sell real estate. Justin jumped all over me, he said, ‘Next time you come here you better not sell a single house!’ It forced me out of my comfort zone, like Linus with his blanket, I had to leave my blue blanket behind.”  -Terry Burger   Links and Resources Link to this episode on itunes: https://apple.co/2Yprm6t Get in Touch with Mike at Just Start Real Estate

As Terry puts it, a landlord’s major goal is to get paid every month and to make sure that his property does not get trashed.  A good credit score demonstrates that the tenant has managed finances responsibly and makes it easier to forgive other things, such as the desire to have a pet because there is a correlation between a good credit score and the way that people keep up a house

Today we chat with Terry Dean, Marketing Coach, who shares with us how he went from delivering pizza to earning $96,250 with one email. Terry also shares why higher ticket offers are better, how to create scarcity to sell more, and why he's a fan of the long form sales page.   Time Stamped Show Notes: 1:38 – Introduction. 4:57 – Terry got started back in 1996 from delivering pizzas, he came online, bought his first PC and started selling online. He did a lot of experiments with email and found out that email was the secret for him making money online. 5:11 – When Terry started speaking at conferences, one of the things that they asked at the conferences was to do a challenge. And in one of the conferences they put up a challenge that in the conference Terry would show them that he would make at least ten thousand dollars with one email to the list during the conference. 5:40 – The very first time Terry took up the challenge, he made around eighteen thousand dollars and then he made thirty-three thousand dollars and so he kept doing these promos and he also goofed up one time when he misspelled his own link and so he had to then send the correct link for people to order. 6:37 – As they moved forward, Terry was just promising ten thousand dollars but he had amazing results on one particular email. When you actually do a money on demand promotion you really want to think about the big three pieces for the promo. And the big three pieces are: there needs to be some very big special. So there is something you are doing that’s totally unique that could be a big discount on one of your products, it could be a product you just launched right now or something you are offering and that time Terry was going to offer licensing to one of his products and he was only going to offer the licensing this weekend and that’s where he hit the ninety six thousand dollars. So it was an exciting special offer. 7:25 – Another tip by Terry is that the higher ticket promotion always has the higher ticket returns for you.    8:30 – The second big piece is that there has to be some kind of scarcity and the scarcity that works best is having both a deadline and a limited number of something and Terry’s best promos have had both in them. 10:04 – The third piece is often left out by a lot of people and third piece is the reason why you are making this special and the reason why needs to be extremely important. 12:12 – From the email copy, the people are going to the sales page. The emails that Terry sends are really short. In the email, he usually only mentions why this is special this weekend and then he gives a good reason why. If you go back to the ninety-six-thousand-dollar email, the first paragraph was about this is special and how he is giving a license to one of his products and a link to it saying click here now if want to this special.  And the rest of the email added up to about four more paragraphs the first paragraph described what he was offering, the second paragraph described the limited time for it and then there were about four paragraphs describing why he was making this special offer and the email is more about the reason why than it is about the offer itself.   13:26 – The sales page is where he actually makes the sale by telling them about all the the things they are gaining and that is consistent across all of his different sequences, he sends them to the page to make the sale. 13:34 – His emails are stories or they are a reason why and when he does the reason why it basically is a story or sometimes answering a question or two that came in or few of the bullet benefits. Rarely does Terry list the price in the email or make the full offer in the email. 14:38 – What sets up those big challenges, those big money on demand specials is all the emails you send in between and those emails simply say what they are and the big mistake that most people with email is they send way too much content. You can make a lot more money by sending a lot less content.  You need to be building a relationship which means you are sending out true authentic stories about who you are, what you’ve done, your clients and things like that. And that’s what you are consistently emailing out to your list. 16:03 – According to Terry, the reason that the high ticket offers produce best is because you are going to find that a buyer is a buyer and if you look through your buyer list especially of the high ticket offers if you’ve been in business for many years you are going to know the names of a lot of your high-ticket buyers because they’re consistently your buyers. 17:02 – Terry’s sales pages are almost always long form sales pages especially the ones that produce best for his emails and sometimes he also does a video on top of the sales page but when he sends an email to his own list, he does not do video only to his own list because he has a large number of sales that come in within five minutes and the buyers did not watch the video or read the whole sales page. Long from sales pages have always produced best results for Terry by the email promotions. 18:57 – The results increase as your mailing list increases but also as you get more and more buyers on your list. 20:06 – With all of his clients, Terry always tries to establish some type of front end item so there is one product and some type of signature offer that they have in the front end. The purpose of that is to use that front end product and a couple of upsells to pay for the traffic and the whole purpose of the first sale is to pay for the leads that are being generated.   Resources Mentioned: http://MyMarketingCoach.com/free -- Terry is giving away a free report which is a copy of one of his paid newsletters and it’s seven unique ways to create money making emails even if you are not a writer. It gives you a lot of secrets of telling different types of stories and it will give you sixty-four story shortcuts to help you come up with stories and a lot of other tips and subject lines to help you create more profits using email.

Hey Weight Loss Nation! Today, I am having a conversation with Terry Davis, a Sumter County, Florida resident, who gained over 150 pounds, after battling colon cancer, and losing both her parents a short time after each other. Terry survived colon cancer and developed a difficult relationship with food. During her cancer treatment, Terry had many, many days of not wanting to eat. She felt nauseous, and the smells of certain foods caused her to lose her appetite.  When Terry beat the colon cancer, she began to feel that she wanted to eat, "what she wanted to eat. if she wanted to eat chocolate cake....she ate it. If she wanted to eat fried chicken.....she ate it. Terry found herself eating more and more food.  The weight quickly added up and Terry found herself at 303 pounds! Terry was tired, depressed and staying at home. Terry became her father's caretaker and cared for him 24 hours a day. Soon after her father passed, Terry's mother became sick and she found herself taking care of her mother too. It was a full-time job for Terry. Friends and neighbors brought food over to Terry's house to help out. Terry was eating macaroni and cheese, fried chicken and other fatty and "comfort" foods during this time.   Terry turned to food to deal with her emotions.  Terry was in a tailspin.  One day, a few months after Terry's parents had both passed away, Terry felt like she was weak and passing out. Terry went to her doctor and the doctor sent her to the ER right away. In the ER, Terry had all kinds of tests. The ER Doctor came into the room and had a conversation with Terry. The Doctor told Terry that the tests revealed that she had diabetes and high blood pressure. The Doctor told Terry that she was a "pretty woman, but she was FAT!" The Doctor asked Terry if she had any grand-children. Terry responded, "Not yet." The Doctor proceeded to tell Terry that she would never see her grandchildren if she didn't immediately start losing weight. The ER Doctor told Terry to start on a low carb meal plan and that she would lose the weight and reverse the diabetes and high blood pressure. But...she had to start immediately! The conversation with the ER Doctor really hit Terry. It hit her like a rock. No one had ever told her that she was "Fat" before. Family members would tell her to start eating right and exercising, but no one ever told her she was fat. At that moment....Terry knew she had to make a drastic change in her life. Terry went home and started throwing out all the boxed food and high carb items in her house. Terry began buying healthy low-carb fruit and vegetables. Terry ate more protein. Soon, Terry lost 10 pounds! Terry knew she needed help from her family and friends to support her on this journey. Terry turned to Face Book for the answer. Terry started a Face Book page titled, "New Body Under Construction The Low Carb Way." Terry started her journey and began telling her story on the Face Book page. Terry's friends and family began "cheering her on," and Terry had the support she needed to change her lifestyle. Soon, other friends began asking Terry if they could be part of the group, and the journey grew. Seven months later, the Face Book page has over 1,900 members! People have shared their "very low carb" way of life. People share stories, recipes and questions regarding being on an "Atkin's" program. Here's the link to Terry's Face Book page: New Body Under Construction The Low Carb Way Terry has currently lost over 116 pounds! She continues to eat, following the "Atkin's" way of eating. Atkin's is very low carb. Many people have had success being on the Atkin's eating plan. Many people don't do well on it. If you would like to research more information on the Atkin's plan, here is the website to research it: https://www.atkins.com/how-it-works   Everyone is different. Each individual has a different blood type. We each have unique DNA and genetic markers. Our metabolism's are different.  It is important to look at many different meal plans, to determine which plan will be the plan that you can do everyday for the rest of your life. This is a lifestyle Nation! You need to eat to live! Food fuels your body! You cannot be on some radical "diet," to lose weight and keep it off. It won't work. I promise you! I've been there done that! Weight Loss Nation is the ONLY place where many different meal plans and modalities are discussed. WLN wants you to succeed in your journey to a long-term healthy lifjestyle! I am on the REAL FOOD program! If it grows from the ground, from a tree; if it roams the earth....flies in the sky or swims in the ocean.....I can eat it! I stay away from boxed foods, white flour, white rice, white potatoes and white bread. They are all processed and many of the vitamins and nutrients are depleted. I eat low carb, but not excessive. I eat sweet potatoes. I eat Quinoa. I occasionally eat brown rice and I eat beans. I eat carbs in moderation. I'm working on portion size. Once in awhile.....I will have Pizza! or ....I'll have a few Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies! And even less.... in fact only twice in the last 9 months I ate ice cream.  It's all about education, eating healthy, exercising and mindset!  Weight Loss Nation is here to assist you on YOUR journey!
