Will Duggan becomes the first ever returning guest on Mystery on the Rocks as he joins us while we go through the bizarre story of the mysterious Kaspar Hauser.Found wandering the streets of Nuremberg in 1828, Kaspar was apparently sixteen years old and had about his person two letters which offered little in the way of identification beyond his name and age. He claimed to have grown up in captivity and, as he was moved about under the guardianships of different people and endured several attempts on his life, some began to wonder if Kaspar was in fact an illegitimate royal heir who had been swept away out of sight...Ultimately, in 1833, one of the attempts on his life was successful and Kaspar was murdered, aged 21. Nobody knows who did it, or why, or even what the truth behind Kaspar himself was...Hosted by Masud Milas, Chris Stokes, and Sooz Kempner Mystery on the Rocks is a high concept comedy and true crime/unexplained phenomena podcast set in a fictional mystery-solving bar with real cocktails!. The focus of the show is to attempt to crack a real, unsolved mystery from history – true crime and bizarre occurrences, all with a whodunnit or WTF happened question hanging over them. You can follow us on Bluesky, X and Instagram too! Craig Charles called Will Duggan a “wazzock” on BBC radio - in this ep, he tells us why! Will came to Red Dwarf at a random episode of series 8 (that's not why Craig dissed him on 6 Music). Over several years, he caught episodes out of sequence, before finally learning the backstory of this “workplace sitcom that happens to be set 3 million years in the future.” Crashing into series 3 episode 2, Marooned, Will declares it a classic from the opening scene onwards. We can't argue with him. Together we examine Rimmer's Richard III. Moral quandaries. How Marooned's original working title sheds light on the character dynamics. Theories about why this (mainly) two-hander was the 2nd ep of the newly expanded series. Why the original opening scene was cut. And… a Time Lord aboard the Dwarf!SO WHAT IS IT?Better Than Life is the pod where comedians talk Red Dwarf, the greatest sci-fi sitcom, one episode at a time. This week, the dynamic duo Laura Lexx and Will Duggan are off to Somerset, Laura's birthplace, to visit Cheddar Gorge on the orders of none other than the King of Cheddar - Richard Herring!Laura and Will go deep into not one but two caves, and also to the very top of the mountain via Jacob's Ladder. Laura Lexx and Will Duggan are BACK with the fourth series of their adorable, hit podcast: The National Treasures Podcast. Between them they've done it all: Live at The Apollo, a Fosters Award, Mock the Week, The Edinburgh Fringe 2022. But have they ever been to the IWM in Duxford? Well... no.They head off up the motorway to the sort of vaguely Cambridgeshire area to explore planes and other war type stuff because Ed Byrne told them to. Next week they will be chatting to Ed Byrne about exactly why he made them do that, but for now, sit back and let your excitable hosts take you round the hangars of Duxford... This week Helen and Daddy are joined by the delightful Will Duggan. From eating grass as a young lad, Will went on to impress with his his debut solo hour entitled ‘A Man Gathering Fish’ at Edinburgh in 2016, and has since cemented himself firmly in the comedy world. He has performed and written for the Fosters Award winning show Funz & Gamez and also co-hosts the podcast National Treasures. He looks great in a onesie. It takes a certain type of person to work in showbiz, and often it was clear from the start that they were destined to end up on stage. Daddy Look At Me takes the time to explore these scenarios with a guest every week.Helen Bauer and Rosie Jones will probe the guest on the pivotal moments in their early life; from childhood, to romance, and everywhere in between, we want the highs and lows that make it so obvious that this craving for attention ensured our guest was a born entertainer. You can follow our Instagram and like us on Facebook! And you can follow Rosie and Helen on Twitter! This is a Studio71 production. We’re heading back to 2019 for this, the final episode of series 1. It’s December and we’re in Sussex to have a brisk winter stroll around Devil’s Dyke, which was VERY MUDDY (we found this out the hard way*).A must-listen for fans of low budget Lion King re-enactments, folklore and flaming duffel coats.*Some Will Duggan’s were harmed in the making of this podcast.A huge thank you for listening to National Treasures. It’s a return to the Wars of the Roses this week as we lay sightseeing-siege to Warwick Castle, once home to the warmongering 16th Earl of Warwick, Richard ‘the Kingmaker’ Neville. We’re up in Manchester, Will’s former stomping ground. Although the nostalgia need not end there as we’re in town to visit The Whitworth, an Art Gallery where the young Will used also used to woo the ladies. Laura tries hard to overcome her scepticism about modern art and it’s probably worth warning you up front, not all of the art world’s darlings escape unscathed. It’s March, well it isn’t, but in this episode it very much is. March the 11th to be precise and we’re going to Kew Botanical Gardens. Good news for two reasons, you can’t actually go there currently and we’re in the peak of Hayfever season; so, hear the flowers with us and save yourself the sneezes. In this episode things get steamy in the conservatory when Will gets handsy with the plants and listen out for about 4 million plane cameos. This week we head back to the start of the year and Cheshire to take a good look at Beeston Castle, an Iron Age fort atop a very steep hill. In fact way too much as you'll now be able to track one of your hosts menstrual cycles. Standard.
Asking where the gents are this week is Will Duggan! Will has been performing comedy since 2009 and since then has cemented himself as a dynamic and interesting performer in comedy clubs around the country. Will mixes stories and gags with a cheerfully cynical view of the world. At the Mystery on the Rocks bar you’ll find a retired sleuth, the bartender trying to settle his tab, and the down-on-her-luck lounge singer, solving mysteries and drinking cocktails. Each week a new guest enters the bar and attempts to solve an unsolved mystery alongside the regulars. Hosted by Masud Milas, Chris Stokes, and Sooz Kempner. It’s a high concept comedy and true crime podcast, set in a fictional crime-solving bar (with real cocktails!). The focus of the show is to attempt to crack a real, unsolved mystery from history – true crime and bizarre occurrences, all with a whodunnit or WTF happened question hanging over them. Masud makes the drinks, Chris tells the mystery and Sooz sings and plays live piano – and everyone chats and chimes in with their theories. You can follow us on Twitter and Instagram too! This is a Studio71 production. I wish I could tell you that I've always felt confident as a leader, but I used to be a real scaredy cat. In this episode, I discuss six ways that I learned to have more confidence in my leadership abilities and not be consumed by the fear and worry about giving feedback to others. Community Feedback USA: (949) 38-LEARN Global: +1 (949) 385-3276 Twitter: #CFLshow feedback@coachingforleaders.com 1) Set expectations early: If expectations aren’t there with followers, create them. If they aren’t clear, clarify. Do it early or as soon as you can. 2) Be willing to change directions: A mentor gave me great advice when they said, “No leader is perfect. You can always acknowledge to a follower that something has been OK up until now, but that you are now making a different decision going forward.” 3) Ask a trusted colleague for feedback: I discovered that asking for advice from a person I trusted often gave me new ideas. 4) Respond in 24 hours: Zig Ziglar said, “If you need to eat a frog, you don’t want to look at that sucker too long. He ain’t gonna get any prettier.” (Customers - SCORE!) 5) Earn trust by being a good-finder: I spent time each day finding good stuff people were doing and told them. 6) Listen to daily inspiration: These days, I listen to podcasts. I wish I could tell you that I've always felt confident as a leader, but I used to be a real scaredy cat. One that always gives me a boost is Michael Hyatt’s show This Is Your Life.
