During a home game on Sunday, November 28, CSKA Moscow fans set off pyrotechnics inside the VEB Arena after their team suffered a 2-0 loss to Zenit St. Petersburg. Upon discovering that the stadium's surveillance cameras were down, Moscow police kept spectators in the stands for three hours, while carrying out hundreds of arrests. On Monday morning, the police reported that they had detained 408 soccer fans in total and filed 51 administrative offense protocols. In response, the Russian Premier League decried the actions of the police, but CSKA Moscow drew even more backlash by condemning fans for committing "unlawful acts." Meanwhile, State Duma lawmakers have seized upon the incident to argue in favor of introducing a "Fan ID" system for sporting events. In the week that saw Jordan Henderson become the first Liverpool captain in 30 years to lift the league title trophy aloft, there are plenty of topics for the Blood Red panel to dive into. The Reds skipper's week got even better today as he picked up the Football Writers' Association Player of the Year award, much to the disappointment of Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola. Alongside host Matt Addison, the ECHO's LFC correspondent Paul Gorst and writers Connor Dunn and Dan Kay, they discuss both of those events, plus Dejan Lovren's proposed move to Zenit St Petersburg, the 5-3 victory over Frank Lampard's Chelsea that preceded the trophy lift, Jurgen Klopp’s pre-Newcastle United press conference, Adam Lallana's tearful exit, plus lots more. It's a packed show with plenty of talking points to get through, before the panel select their Liverpool XIs for the final Premier League weekend of the 2019/20 season. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp addresses comments made by Frank Lampard following Chelsea’s 5-3 defeat to the new Premier League champions at Anfield. Chelsea boss Lampard clashed with the Liverpool bench during Wednesday’s match after Andre Marriner adjudged Mateo Kovacic to have fouled Sadio Mane. Trent Alexander-Arnold scored from the resultant free kick. And after the game Lampard told Sky Sports: “For me, it wasn’t a foul from Kovacic, and there were a lot of things that weren’t going our way. But I’ve not got a problem with Jurgen Klopp. The way he’s managed this team has been fantastic. Fair play to Liverpool Football Club, they’ve won the league, but also don’t get too arrogant with it. That was my point, but it’s done.” Klopp responded to those comments at his press conference today to preview Liverpool’s final game of the season at Newcastle United on Sunday. The Reds manager also responded to captain Jordan Henderson winning the Footballer of the Year award and reports suggesting Dejan Lovren is on the brink of an £11m move to Zenit St Petersburg. The Liverpool Echo sends a twice-daily Liverpool FC bulletin out via email with the all latest news, views and analysis from Anfield. This week's episode see's the lads review the last 2 weeks worth of football and preview the upcoming games which lead us to the final week of 19/20 season. Millsy & Judgy passionately dissect the recent performances of a number of individuals and agree that a number of players have reached the end of their Everton career. The lack of desire and effort is discussed as the blue's discuss a run of games that seen Everton take 1 from 9 and all but end the hope of a European place. Social media questions ask about the 442 formation and Judgy analyses the pro's and con's of a 442 approach and if he believes Everton have the personnel in place to play it effectively. Gary & Phil on the red side then talk about the red's recent run of games, including why they don't believe the result at Manchester City will have any bearing on next season's title challenge between the 2 clubs, as well as discussing how pleasing a number of individual performances from the younger members of the squad, particularly Curtis Jones have been. Social media on the red side brings the discussion to Dejan Lovren's Liverpool career after rumours that Zenit St Petersburg have shown interest, and how they feel any approach should be handled. We close out previewing Liverpool's trip to Arsenal, the importance or non importance of a record points total and Everton's games against Aston Villa and Sheffield United, two teams who desperately need points for different reasons & how they see the outcome. Thanks for listening, and enjoy the show!

Russia has pledged to tackle racism in football ahead of the 2018 World Cup. We investigate the depth of prejudice at one of Russia's most successful clubs. Zenit St Petersburg competes regularly at the top level of European football but has never signed a black player. The club has a following of dedicated fans called the Ultras - and they say they're proud that the club has never had a player of African heritage. The club says it trying to tackle racism. The Russian football authorities say they have launched a campaign to eradicate intolerance across football more generally. We ask if the approach is working. Also, we examine the epidemic of liver disease brought on by the way we lead our lives - and the impact it is having on an already-stretched NHS. And it's been a long time coming... the crackdown that's designed to get uninsured drivers off the roads.
