Ever notice that fabulous dinner parties depicted on screen rarely take place earlier than the 1800's - and in America pretty much always after the Civil War?Well! That's because in just about every one of those situations the eating etiquette would look so different it would be unrecognizable - in fact it's likely people would be eating with their fingers!Americans have only been eating with forks - on a regualr basis for about 150 years! The earliest Americans ate with their hands - becasue so did almost everyone else.Oh - and I answer the question, why do Americans constantly switch which hands they hold knife and fork when eating fancy? All manner of Fork Trivia is covered.Music Credit: Fingerlympics by Doctor TurtleShow Notes: https://thehistoryofamericanfood.blogspot.com/Email: TheHistoryofAmericanFood at gmail dot com Threads: @THoAFoodInstagram: @THoAFood& some other socials... @THoAFood

Shoot us a Text.Hello Monday! Today we dive into Stellantis' leadership shuffle as Jeep's Antonio Filosa takes on this crucial role, Fiat stirs up fun with a cheeky EV campaign, and SpaceX makes history by catching its massive Starship booster midair.Antonio Filosa, Jeep's CEO since last November, is now also stepping into the role of Stellantis North America COO. With a sales slump and dealer frustrations, Filosa faces a challenging balancing act as he takes on this dual role.Antonio replaces Carlos Zarlenga, who was COO for just 8 months.Dealers' expectations want better inventory movement and product support and Filosa aims to align product delivery and pricing with market needs. This change comes as Stellantis made broader leadership changes, including a new CFO."It's no secret that we have work to do," said Filosa on LinkedIn.Fiat has launched a playful social media campaign contrasting its small 500e EV with the massive Tesla Cybertruck. The campaign humorously highlights the size difference while promoting Fiat's electric city car as a charming and practical alternative.Video titled "You Say Tomato, We Say Pomodoro" compares the two vehicles as Cybertruck is portrayed as "shock" while the 500e is "awwwww."Fiat emphasizes the 500e's ease of use in city driving.Campaign aims to inject humor while promoting Fiat's first electric vehicle for U.S. consumers.“Our little cinquecento...embodies what an electric city car should be,” said Stellantis CMO Olivier Francois.SpaceX successfully launched and caught its massive Starship booster, marking a historic achievement in spaceflight. The bold maneuver showcases SpaceX's innovation as it works toward its goal of fully reusable rockets for moon and Mars missions.Starship launched from South Texas on Oct. 13 where the booster, "Super Heavy," was caught midair by the launch tower's "chopstick" arms.SpaceX continues to make Starship fully reusable for rapid relaunch capability. This mission also featured improvements to Starship's heat shield."A big step toward making life multiplanetary," said Elon Musk after the flight.Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

It's Chainsaw Friyay once more (thank God, I'm so tired) and that means we have an entire week worth of information that needs to be stuffed inside our brains and processed. After all, how can you possibly forget about ... uh ... what did we discuss on the show this week, does anyone remember? Huh, I guess the point about our brains being at full capacity stands tall here and so a topic about forgetting random useless junk makes most sense for the opening. This morning, Angi gave us a list of useless things that people still have memorized but would probably love to forget. For starters, old phone numbers of childhood friends which is a problem for a ton of people (I think mine are finally starting to fade which is good because I barely associate with those people anymore.) Angi, who on a good day can barely remember things she was told the day before, can still remember her grandparents phone number. Also on the list were the birthdays of old friends which have finally started to dip on Marris but Angi still has the memory of the birthday of this one girl Stacy (who shared a birthday with her....) Old locker combos, those are gone and were usually gone for Marris too who had the same locker all 4 years of high school and would still forget it all the time. Old classroom seating charts, who could possibly recall those? Angi remembers that her 3rd grade teacher had a crush on Tom Selleck because she had a picture of him on her desk. Someone's first wifi password, no way. The alphabet backwards, which is used for a drunk test, most of us can do that sober. All of the presidents in order, no way. Angi thought she could remember all the states in order and she got half way through before she bombed out of that. How to spell Mississippi which to be fair, everyone should remember. The rules of baseball, who actually learned those? If you ever worked in a grocery store you probably remember that the produce code 4011 is bananas. How to play "Hot Cross Buns" on a recorder, how about "Chopsticks" on piano? We all know the theme song from the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" though for some reason, mine just has the dude slapping everyone. The "Macarena," Marris learned how to do that in gym class. Let's not forget our old video game codes (Up Up Down Down B A B A Start!) Last and definitely not least, all those stupid advertising jingles like the one for Empire which Angi completely botched. All that stuff, forget it and make room for new stuff like that time I was nice on the radio yesterday for the first time in four years.
