Sport has the power to unite people, bring hope in them Divyanshu points out that "normal people" starting from school to one start working rarely meets a person who is "disabled". The reason is that there exists a boundary that doesn't allow & doesn't support the disabled to mix. The infrastructure is not built for inclusion. He believes, with adventure sports, he can break the beliefs that a person who is "disabled" cannot do what a "normal person" can do. In an ideal scenario, education is supposed to instill the skills and mindsets in a person to make him/her ready to take on the world and become a better human being. However, the meaning of education today has become merely about marks and results. To change that system, our guest Rahul Adhikari started an organization, Better Plus Education. An IITian, recipient of REX Karamveer Chakra Award by United Nations, and invitee to be a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum, his urge to give back to the society and make students empowered with the skill to empathy made him launch a programme called the International Changemaker Olympiad (ICO), that gives a platform for children in schools to launch their own change initiatives to solve real-world problems and develop a Changemaker mindset. He says empathy is one skill that can enable a person to learn whatever he/she wants to learn in life, do things that are for the good of all, and be successful in whatever they do. In ICO, students launch their own Change initiatives for 4-5 months and become micro-entrepreneurs that bring solutions to daily life problems. Through this, they develop some of the most important life skills that are not taught in schools like empathy, teamwork, communication skills, problem-solving skills and more.
