About Vishal Gondal:Vishal Gondal is a prominent Indian entrepreneur known as the pioneer and Father of the Indian Gaming Industry. He founded Indiagames at the age of 16, scaling it internationally before its acquisition by Disney in 2011 for approximately $100 million. He also hosts "The Awakening Code" podcast, exploring the intersection of AI, spirituality, innovation, and consciousness. Recognized globally as an innovative leader, Vishal continues to bridge technology and wellness, transforming how people engage with their health and lives. In this episode, Dean Newlund and Vishal Gondal discuss:How gamification influences long-term behavior changeShifting from reactive treatment to preventive healthcare modelsUnderstanding the gap between knowing and doing in healthThe role of AI in predicting and personalizing health interventionsExploring human purpose and spirituality in the age of AI Key Takeaways:Gamification works best when tasks are aligned with a person's skill level and progress is reinforced through small, consistent rewards. Most people already know what to do for their health, but the challenge lies in sustained motivation, not access to more information. The current healthcare system is incentivized to treat sickness instead of preventing it, which misaligns its goals with actual health outcomes.Artificial intelligence is enabling real-time, personalized health risk predictions that can guide users to make proactive lifestyle changes. "AI is going to force the healthcare system to transform, because now you no longer have to have a probability game—it's a predictability game.” — Vishal GondalConnect with Vishal Gondal: Website: https://goqii.com/in-enShow: The Awakening Code: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL2gtuaqZASZ0ddMrBVq_CjkXqV9UvrhMYYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheAwakeningCodeLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/vishalgondal/X (Twitter): https://x.com/vishalgondalFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/VishalGondalOfficial/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/vishygo/GOQii Smart Vital series: https://store.goqii.com/smartvital See Dean's TedTalk “Why Business Needs Intuition” here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EEq9IYvgV7I Connect with Dean:YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCgqRK8GC8jBIFYPmECUCMkwWebsite: https://www.mfileadership.com/The Mission Statement E-Newsletter: https://www.mfileadership.com/blog/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/deannewlund/X (Twitter): https://twitter.com/deannewlundFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/MissionFacilitators/Email: dean.newlund@mfileadership.comPhone: 1-800-926-7370 Show notes by Podcastologist: Hanz Jimuel AlvarezAudio production by Turnkey Podcast Productions. This 48th episode of LetsTalkSports with Sid Deshmukh features Vishal Gondal, Founder & CEO of GOQii, India's largest wearable fitness company working on health as a lifestyle. The discussion is based on some interesting topics like being a gaming entrepreneur in his teens, to being among Top 40 entrepreneurs in India in his twenties to founding #GOQii in his thirties with innovation and attitude and now collaborating with Akshay Kumar for #FAUG & Fitness. Vishal spoke to us about the sports - health - fitness & gaming industry.
We are hugely excited to welcome Vishal Gondal onto Halo Drop. Vishal is an Indian entrepreneur and angel investor. Vishal founded his first company, IndiaGames, at the tender age of 16, a company that was later acquired by the Walt Disney Company. Following his success with IndiaGames, Vishal launched Sweat and Blood Venture group in 2008, to invest in startups at seed level, to help build out youth and entrepreneurship in India. He launched his most recent company, GOQii, in 2014, a fitness technology company, focused on preventative healthcare“I had absolutely no idea about valuation stock, liquidation preference, I mean, all these complex things, which people talk about right now, in the whole world of startups and venture capital, I only knew one thing, I knew how to build products.”And that's how the father of Indian gaming has the edge in the preventative healthcare space, and it's the idea behind GOQii - using gaming to motivate people to think about preventative healthcare. From starting in the gaming realm, to approaching Pepsi, hiring underdogs to work at IndiaGames, to founding GOQii, this is a fascinating interview with the guy who modestly says ‘I just build the products'. So how is he so wildly successful? “I figured out the problem in the business of health and wellness and fitness is not the lack of apps or devices, or gyms or diets. The fundamental problem is people lack motivation. And the other problem is engagement.”To find out more, subscribe and follow Halo Drop wherever you get your podcasts. The CEOs of Google, Facebook, and Twitter were recently subpoenaed by the US Senate Commerce Committee, in the run-up to the US Presidential elections. The hearing will examine Section 230 of the US's Communications Decency Act, a law that protects online platforms from legal liability for content produced by users on their platforms. It essentially distances online platforms from the responsibility attached to any user-generated content.
