Thrilled to share this Uplifting Identity conversation on living the blessed life with special guest, Bethsaida Olds! Bethsaida grew up in church but it was at the age of 19 that God met her in a miraculous way while she was out living life apart from Him. From that point on, she decided to live the rest of her life as a "Thank You" to Him for his kindness and love towards her. She has a background in education, dedicated a season of her life to do anti-human trafficking work both overseas and in NYC, and has mentored girls and young women for over 15 years in church and nonprofit program management. Bethsaida has been married for 7 years and is currently a SAHM of twin 5 year old girls and a 1 year old son. She is passionate about seeing women grow in their relationship with God, understanding God's Word, and living out their identity in Him boldly. Bethsaida shares this passion on her Instagram page. She has also created a virtual sisterhood for Bible studies and connecting with each other and offers mentorship for women who want a godly big sis to keep it real and Biblical during singleness and dating. Welcome to Uplifting Lineage, a five-week teaching series on the women in the genealogy of Jesus. Our guest teacher Aileen Torres closed out the series with a word on Mary. Aileen Torres grew up in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. Although she was raised in a Christian home, Aileen rebelled against her parents and the Lord. Her rebellion led to her leaving her home multiple times, a juvenile record for violence, alcohol abuse, drug use, and involvement in many toxic relationships all before the age of 16. Her life was heading down a dark downward spiral at a rapid speed but in 1997, during her junior year of high school, the Lord intervened and she was radically saved.Aileen now pastors along side her husband at Radiant Church in Queens, NYC where she is committed to teaching about true freedom from sin and shame that Jesus offers to all. Welcome to Uplifting Lineage, a five-week teaching series on the women in the genealogy of Jesus. Our third week focuses on the story of Ruth with guest teacher Chanda Stegall. From an early age, Chanda knew she wanted to be a teacher. She even started college pursuing a degree in Secondary Education, but changed her major as other passions pulled her away. As an adult, she was asked to teach Sunday School and Bible Study in her local church. Those teaching opportunities lead her back to her first love and to pursue a Master's degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Her seminary experience showed her the need to train others with the gift of teaching to consistently develop Bible lessons that not only inform, but transform others. Chanda loves Jesus and she loves gathering His people. She is married and has three young adult sons. Vocationally, she serves in an administrative role supporting the vision of two dynamic leaders. She started out as their Creative Coordinator then became their Director of Youth Ministry and Co-Director of Worship and Creative Arts and is now co-pastoring their Online Campus alongside her husband, Christian Smith. They currently live in London where Christian is working to earn his PhD in Theology and Art at Kings College London. Amanda and Christian have four children in heaven, River, Ama, Strom and Ea (Pronounced "ay-ah") all meaning the word "river" and inspired by Isaiah 43:19 “Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” If you're looking for a remote/online church community, Amanda invites you to consider The Life Christian Church Online, where the mission is to inspire people to the life God dreams for them as they spread His love in ever-widening circles. TLCC is a fully operating online campus with opportunities to serve remotely and engage in hybrid or strictly virtual community. Visit TLCC.org/Online to learn more or reach out to Amanda Smith, one of the Online Campus Pastors at asmith@tlcc.org. Follow along for our entire series on Uplifting Lineage!
