Kurt and Denette Schaer are the parents of three sons, including Logan, a young man with a knack for making others feel “seen” and a deep desire to point people to Jesus. In May of 2022, just a few days after his high school graduation, Logan and a passenger died after he drove his car into a pond, leaving the Schaers with a multitude of unanswered questions. Central to their journey has been their deep faith in God, which has enabled them to come to peace with not having all the answers. Lean in and be encouraged. In our journey of faith, we often face transitions that test our resolve and challenge our relationships. This conversation reminds us of the importance of unity in marriage and family, especially during times of change. We see how open communication, vulnerability, and the willingness to seek God together can strengthen our bonds. The story of Joshua leading the Israelites into the Promised Land parallels our own experiences of stepping into new seasons with faith and courage. Just as Joshua had to trust God's plan, we too must lean on His guidance when facing the unknown. This message encourages us to embrace change as an opportunity for growth, to involve our children in our faith journey, and to seek wisdom from our spiritual community. As we navigate life's transitions, let's remember that our ultimate identity is in Christ, not in our roles or achievements. Marriage and Ministry can work when done with the right. This episode we explore the tools that will provide a bit more ease to this sometime challenging assignment. As women, we know the "roles" that have been set in place by society and even our own selves, but how do we navigate when there is a ministry call from God? Also, there is a press when we as a couple are both privileged to serve in the kingdom as leaders, minister, etc. How do we avoid allowing resentment and feelings of neglect to overtake us when our husbands are slotted for kingdom service? All of these scenarios are real and our perspectives are vital to the success of the privilege to be used by God to further the gospel and see the kingdom expanded. God knows all about us and our lives. He did not set us up to fail. We must lay hold to his principles and trust the process set before us. Stewardship, followship and relationship is key. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/ms-wade/support

Fr. Steve shared a poignt word from the Lord where he believes God is calling all of us to make time for God. What ever that may look like for us individually--we must make time.
In this special Thanksgiving episode, we are sharing about the immense value of serving others together in marriage. While the holiday may look different for all of us this year, we want to encourage you with the blessings, unity and purpose that come from adopting a lifestyle of service as a couple. We start by reflecting on our own journey of serving in various capacities over the years - from youth ministry, to nonprofits, to family and friends. Making service a shared activity has built life-giving memories and given us a shared mission. But for a season when we struggled relationally, our eyes turned inward and serving dried up.Serving is a powerful antidote to many marriage issues. It builds unity as you work as a team. It provides perspective when you pour into others' lives. It gives opportunity to utilize your unique gifts and talents together. And most importantly, it allows you to follow Jesus' example and model servant leadership in the way He perfectly lived it out.In Mark 10 and other passages, Christ makes it clear that His entire mission on earth was to serve and “give his life as a ransom for many.” Washing His disciples feet, He told them to follow His model of humble service to one another. When we serve others from a place of humility and sacrifice like Jesus, amazing things happen in our own hearts. Some benefits of consistently serving together include: deepening intimacy and friendship, creating life-long memories, teaching important values to your kids, gaining inspiration for your relationship, blessing your community, and discovering purpose. As you reflect this Thanksgiving, we encourage you to prayerfully consider what adopting a lifestyle of service might look like for your marriage. Who can you bless? What brokenness can you help heal?
