Have you ever thought about social norms? For example, have you ever thought about the things that we're “supposed to do” or what's “expected” of us? Social norms are the unwritten rules of beliefs, attitudes, and behaviors that are considered acceptable in a particular social group or culture. The container for these norms are within the conversations we have. What we should and shouldn't do are held in our conversations that we have on a day-to-day basis. These "norms" provide us with an expected idea of how to behave and function to provide order and predictability in society. Dive into this episode to hear about societal norms and how they effect our decisions when we decide to leap into the 9-5 world or leap out! Have you ever felt like you know there is something more for you, you know that you aren't tapping into your full potential. But then at the same time you wonder if you have what it takes and are scared of failure? I was stuck in this space for a really long time and it was really the source of so much of my anxiety and unhappiness because being in between wanting to go for it and fear of failure is not a fun limbo to be in. This episode shares about a book called The Big Leap by Gay Hedricks. In a nutshell this book asserts that there is only one barrier in the way of us finding happiness and fulfilment so that as individuals we can achieve our highest potential. The one barrier is called the Upper Limit Problem. www.letscutclass.com @letgoanddiscover on Tiktok and Instagram

This episode is a gift from our client, friend, and collaborator Chardee McEwan. If you loved Episode 60 "The Secret to Fast Growth: Creating Community" but are feeling a little hesitant, confronted, concerned, or some kind of way about being with others then this hypnotic mediation is a great tool for you to rewire your subconscious. Many of us struggle with being with others because of things that happened in the past or experiences we have had with others that hurt or disappointed us. These past experiences programmed our subconscious to believe that it isn't safe to put yourself out there or be with others. Our subconscious beliefs can easily be reprogrammed with hypnosis meditations (this is not the same thing as medical hypnosis). Listen to this track every morning and before bed to start seeing results in creating connection and community. Are you a solopreneur, consultant, freelancer, or other type of small business owner who just started your business in 2021? Or perhaps you have had your business longer but you aren't really in touch with your business numbers and your tax preparation process could use some pointers? Do you run your business crossing your fingers that the money coming in to your bank exceeds the money going out? This is probably the most common way small businesses run, especially in the beginning. Do you prep for taxes by going through all of your bank and credits card statements to find write offs? Perhaps you sift through stacks of paper or digital PDF statements trying to calculate your writeoffs by hand or with a calculator? Do you have freelancers or other vendors that you paid over $700 last year? Knowing your numbers, getting your business into and accounting system and Tax prep is necessary for all business owners, independent contractors, and people who are self-employed. Many people don't have any system in place for their day-to-day business and then do their best every year with Turbo Tax hoping they are doing things right. But a disorganized, DIY approach means that you aren't able to do any planning. You don't have a strategy, and when it comes to taxes, you are missing write-offs which ends up costing you quite a bit of money. And if you could make distinctions between the different types of people (what they did and didn't do) then you could choose which group you belonged to? It is one of the sneakiest forces in our lives. It limits us, it controls us. It can steal our inspiration and motivation. It can often even define us. It can build us and even more quickly knock us down. It can consume us, worry us, stress us, and give us anxiety. What is it that I am referring to? One of the most impactful influences on us… is other people's opinions. If wondering and worrying about what other people think of you has been one of your problems...if you allow it to stress you out and stopped you from being you... This episode will share insights and practices to help you go from concerned to confident when it comes to other people's opinions, judgements, etc. To learn more about me and my programs or to get free resources on how to build your business and future, you can discover more at https://www.letscutclass.com/

Part of creating your life and future comes from powerfully completing projects and periods of your life so that you have input and insights (even breakthroughs!) from looking back at your goals, commitments, and results. Once you get complete and present via a retrospective, it's like you have created a blank slate where you can create whatever you want for your next project, period, and your future. This episode is an example of a personal annual retrospective and walks you through the steps of how to do a retrospective in the most powerful way where the reflection is based on what worked and what didn't work vs the typical approach of making ourselves good/bad or right/wrong. This episode is a special behind-the-scenes meeting between the founders of Cutclass doing something called a retrospective. A retrospective process allows teams to connect with one another, get in communication about expectations, outcomes, talk about what worked, what didn't work, what was missing, and most importantly show gratitude for one another and acknowledge one another's contributions. The power of a retrospective comes from it allowing introspection and learning while also getting anything that needs to be said and expressed out in the open. If you like the idea of a retrospective, you can also check out Episode 040 Complete and Create with Power which is Leslie's personal retrospective for 2021 and she also shares her complete process. How does learning music have anything to do with entrepreneurship and business? In this episode, I speak with a dear friend of mine, Tom, who has reminded me through music classes how important it is to step out of your comfort zone every now and then. Tom recently left a 9-5 type role and realized how important freedom and flexibility is for his life. He talks about the realization of really crunching the numbers and coming to a conclusion that a freelance work life meant working less and getting paid the same (if not more than a 9-5). He learned through evaluation of his work and the types of students he enjoyed teaching, that it could look different. Through his reflections, he realized he didn't have to have a work week that meant exhaustion. And in this episode, he shares his journey on how he really started curating his life into one he truly enjoys and the moments during the pandemic that helped shape that. Hop into this episode now! You won't want to miss this conversation between two friends who are both former 9-5ers who now have full-time freedom! So how exactly do you go from being a Financial Analyst managing multi-million dollars inside the comfort of a 9-5 to creating a life full of purpose all while generating a profitable income? Well that's what Nina Crawford, Intuitive Sales and Money Mindset Coach shares on this Tell Your Story episode on Out to Launch. After falling ill for over 6 months, it shifted her out of her finance job and more importantly, made her realize she wasn't living inside her purpose. She surrendered to what was calling her: Helping women earn money in their business. But she didn't immediately leave her job after being ill. It took Nina 2 years to leave her steady 9-5. During this time she pondered, “How am I going to pay the bills?” “How will I take care of myself and my son?” and “How will all of this work?” She also learned how her business was going to make money, took several courses and didn't get discouraged when it didn't yield a result because it was a part of her learning. Throughout her 2 year journey, the one thing that she clearly understood was that everyone, including herself, has a purpose living inside of them that's crying to be let out. If you're passionate about something outside of your day job, yet, day after day you continue suffering at your 9-5, this episode is your ultimate wake up call! As you tune in, you'll realize that you can monetize something you love and access the 5Fs: Freedom, Flexibility, Funds, Fulfilment, and Fun. But how the hell do you get there if all your life you've been taught to go to school and get a good job? Well, you start from scratch. Starting a business from scratch can seem overwhelming, especially if you've never been surrounded by entrepreneurial conversations. This episode will give you access to 5 very important conversations you must have with yourself before you plunge head first into business ownership. The first conversation is around “why” you want to start your business. Your “why” must be bigger than yourself. It's so big that it'll push you through the tough moments in your business journey. Secondly, find a really strong community. Maybe you team up with people or maybe you join a FB community or hire a coach. Your community adds some structure to your business life and will keep you focused on the “why”. Remember, we are not taught as little kids to be business owners so create a strong entrepreneurial community around ya! Then find your passion and purpose AKA your genius zone. Your genius zone is something like breathing, your genius zone is so easy for you. And the best part is you can find a way to monetise it. Need to find your genius? Ask the people around you these questions: "Hey what do I provide?" or "What do you think is my secret sauce?" I bet you'll be surprised about what value you truly bring to the table. Next, consider what kind of audience you could impact? Fitness audience? Children? Animals? Then start thinking of ideas on what you can create. Leslie shares almost 100 ideas in this episode! Lastly, create a budget so you don't get caught blind sided by costs or even worse, debt. Dig into this episode now! Are you an employee or an entrepreneur? It's great to have goals, aspirations, and things that we want to accomplish. While these are great to have, sometimes we can get lost in the process— we focus more on the destination than the journey. We start to only see the to do list, the check boxes to check, and all we want to do is hurry up and get to the finish line. Only to find that as soon as we complete our goal, we set a new one. Over time, we can get addicted, even obsessed, to the completing or accomplishing of something which can lead to feeling unfulfilled. It's so easy to forget that success is actually about the process, the journey, not the end result.
