Moosham castle is located in Austria, Unternberg, Salzburg to be specific… I didn't find a ton of information but what I did find is WILD, the two best places I found my information from were little house of horrors dot com and dark tourist dot com. It is a medieval castle, it is located on a high point (3,540 ft), overlooking the entire area. This was done for defense purposes. The castle was involved in at least 45 bloody battles. It's also synonymous with the most horrible witch hunts in European history, a werewolf (question mark), and of course, ghosts. The Gray Man is a ghost reportedly seen on the coast of Pawleys Island, South Carolina that warns residents of coming severe storms and hurricanes. Although there are many variations of the legend, most say the Gray Man was first seen in 1822, three years before the town government was incorporated. The last reported sighting was just before Hurricane Florence hit in 2018 and previously just before Hurricane Hugo hit the area in 1989. Legend holds that the Gray Man is the ghost of a young man traveling from Charleston to see his fiancée in 1822. On the way, he and his horse were caught in quicksand-like pluff mud in the marshes before Pawleys Island, and died. His spirit has haunted the shore nearby ever since, looking for the girl he loved. On the morning of June 13, 1977, at Camp Scott in Mayes County, Oklahoma, United States. The bodies of three Girl Scouts, between the ages of 8 and 10 were found. They had been raped and murdered. Shadow people are defined as the experience of perceiving patches of shadow in one's peripheral or direct line of sight that appear and behave as living, autonomous beings. Due to the unique behavior of these hallucinations they can be considered as a distinct subtype of autonomous entity. Shadow people usually, but not always, begin to appear initially as fleeting images in a person's peripheral vision. However, at higher levels of intensity shadow people may begin to appear in full view in a manner which allows them to be directly looked at. At advanced mental states, it is even possible to look away from and look back at the shadow person without a change in the presence or appearance of the hallucination. In January 1971, the Perron family moved into a 14-room farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island, where Carolyn, Roger, and their five daughters began to notice strange things happening almost immediately after they moved in. It started small. Carolyn would notice that the broom went missing, or seemed to move from place to place on its own. She would hear the sound of something scraping against the kettle in the kitchen when no one was in there. She'd find small piles of dirt in the center of a newly-cleaned kitchen floor. The girls began to notice spirits around the house, though for the most part, they were harmless. There were a few, however, that were angry. Carolyn allegedly researched the history of the home and discovered that it had been in the same family for eight generations and that many of them had died under mysterious or horrible circumstances. Several of the children had drowned in a nearby creek, one was murdered, and a few of them hanged themselves in the attic. The spirit that was depicted in the film, Bathsheba, was the worst of them all. On the surface, Auldearn appears to be a sleepy Highland village, the kind of place you might think would pass through the history books, unrecognized. However, the 1600s were turbulent times for Auldearn. The village took its place in the annals of Scotland's dark history in 1645 with the ‘Battle of Auldearn' where over 2,000 Covenanters were slain. Then, in 1662, it became the scene of one of the most bizarre witch hunts in Scotland. The witchcraft confessions by Isobel Gowdie are some of the most extraordinary on record. She is possibly the most famous ‘witch' in Scottish history. This is the woman who gave the world the notion of a coven. Some say that her ghost still haunts Auldearn. Located in Vernon, NJ in the 1980's, Action Park was a hotbed of rebellious teenagers looking to test the limits of their bodies. The Ouija Board that we know and love (or dread!) today has been around since the 1890s. However, “talking boards” were part of historic civilizations around the world for centuries. A board was once used in ancient Rome to predict the next king. Across the globe, spirit writing was a common method for communicating with the dead in China before it was outlawed nearly a century ago. It's clear that people have been trying to use boards to contact the other side for a very long time. People of the Victorian era were no exception and they were especially fascinated by ghosts and the supernatural. Many individuals followed a movement called “spiritualism”: the belief that the spirits of the dead are present all around us and, when prompted, can communicate with the living. The spread of spiritualism across North America and throughout Europe was accompanied by a rise in consumer goods and new inventions. Products that promised to prove the existence of spirits and offered an opportunity to commune with deceased loved ones were being marketed all of the time. While many people genuinely believed in spiritual communication from an invisible realm, some business people looking to take advantage of the trend swiftly cashed in. The modern Ouija Board that we've become familiar with was patented by Elijah Bond. The business venture of making and selling the boards in the United States was signed over to the Kennard Novelty Company in 1891 (and the International Novelty Company in Canada in the same year). People adhering to the spiritualist movement of the Victorian era were already using talking boards but Bond's “Ouija Board” was the first widespread commercial attempt to make money on the idea. A combination of good timing and smart marketing ensured the Ouija Board would become a resounding success. Buckle up because it's about to get weird, before Doctor Dolittle there was the Irving Family. In September 1931, the Irving family, consisting of James, Margaret, and a 13-year-old daughter named Voirrey, claimed they heard persistent scratching, rustling, and vocal noises behind their farmhouse's wooden wall panels that variously resembled a ferret, a dog, or a baby. According to the Irvings, a creature named Gef introduced itself and told them it was a mongoose born in New Delhi, India, in 1852. According to Voirrey, Gef was the size of a small rat with yellowish fur and a large bushy tail. The Irvings say that Gef communicated to them that he was "an extra extra clever mongoose", an "Earthbound spirit" and "a ghost in the form of a mongoose" and once said, "I am a freak. I have hands and I have feet, and if you saw me you'd faint, you'd be petrified, mummified, turned into stone or a pillar of salt!" The Irvings made various claims about Gef: he supposedly guarded their house and informed them of the approach of guests or any unfamiliar dog. They said that if someone had forgotten to put out the fire at night, Gef would go down and stop the stove. The Irvings claimed Gef would also wake people up when they overslept, and whenever mice got into the house, Gef supposedly assumed the role of the cat, although he preferred to scare them rather than kill them. The Irvings say they gave Gef biscuits, chocolates, and bananas, and food was left for him in a saucer suspended from the ceiling which he took when he thought no one was watching. The Irvings claimed the mongoose regularly accompanied them on trips to the market, but always stayed on the other side of the hedges, chatting incessantly. In 1800's Victorian England, unwed mothers could pay midwives and more well-off people to take care of their babies in exchange for payment. Depending on the health of the child, or the involvement of the father, the price could reach up to £80. Most of the time the baby farmers would place the babies in a new home under loving care. Sometimes they would return the babies to the mothers once they were more financially stable. And sometimes, as in the case of Amelia Dyer, they would brutally murder them and use their deaths for personal financial gain. Because she was a murderess alive at the time of the Jack the Ripper killings, some have suggested that Dyer was Jack the Ripper. This suggestion was put forward by author William Stewart, although he preferred Mary Pearcey as his chosen suspect. There is, however, no evidence to connect Dyer to the Jack the Ripper murders, and she does not figure prominently among the Jack the Ripper suspects. There's a well-known legend that says that somewhere deep beneath a 14,179-foot-tall mountain in Northern California is a complex of tunnels and a hidden city called Telos, the ancient “City of Light '' for the Lemurians. Dorothea Helen Puente was an American convicted serial killer. In the 1980s, she ran a boarding house in Sacramento, California, and murdered various elderly and mentally disabled boarders before cashing their Social Security checks. On September 29, 1982, Mary Kellerman (12) of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, died after taking a capsule of Extra-Strength Tylenol. Adam Janus (27) of Arlington Heights, died in the hospital later that day after ingesting Tylenol; his brother Stanley (25) and sister-in-law Theresa (19), of Lisle, later also died after taking Tylenol from the same bottle. Within the next few days, Mary McFarland (31) of Elmhurst; Paula Prince (35) of Chicago; and Mary Reiner (27) of Winfield all died in similar incidents. Once it was realized that all these people had recently taken Tylenol, tests were quickly carried out, which soon revealed cyanide present in the capsules. Warnings were then issued via the media and patrols using loudspeakers, warning residents throughout the Chicago metropolitan area to discontinue use of Tylenol products. Brandon Teena hoped that he could start a new life in a new place where no one would know that he was trans. But instead, he was outed in a humiliating fashion. Then, he was brutally raped and murdered by two male acquaintances. And in the aftermath, many journalists at the time framed the story as a curiosity at best and an outright joke at worst. But Teena's tragic death was also a watershed moment in LGBTQ history. Mass Hysteria is the common term used to describe a situation in which various people all suffer from similar unexplained symptoms. Hysterical contagion consists of a quick dissemination within a collection of people with a symptom or set of symptoms for which no physical explanation can be found. In a group of students as our story includes today, symptoms often follow an environmental trigger or illness in an index case and spread rapidly by audiovisual cues, often aggravated by a prominent emergency or media response. Symptoms frequently resolve after patients are separated from each other, removed from the environment in which the outbreak began and after being convinced that the illness is over or never existed. On Christmas Eve, December 24, 1945, a fire destroyed the Sodder residence in Fayetteville, West Virginia, United States. At the time, it was occupied by George Sodder, his wife Jennie, and nine of their ten children. During the fire, George, Jennie, and four of the nine children escaped. The bodies of the other five children have never been found. The surviving Sodder family believed for the rest of their lives that the five missing children survived….. The Stanley Hotel is a 140-room Colonial Revival hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, United States, about five miles from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was built by Freelan Oscar Stanley of Stanley Steamer fame and opened on July 4, 1909, as a resort for upper-class Easterners and a health retreat for sufferers of pulmonary tuberculosis. The hotel and its surrounding structures are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Today, the hotel includes a restaurant, spa, and bed-and-breakfast; with panoramic views of Lake Estes, the Rockies, and Long's Peak.The Stanley Hotel inspired the Overlook Hotel in Stephen King's 1977 bestselling novel The Shining. Ah Kansas, not just the home of our favorite Winchester brothers. Kansas is also home to one of the most haunted homes in America.. The Sallie house is believed to be one of the most haunted places in America, there have been three documented deaths on the property. Micheal Finney in 1872, William True in 1918, and Agnes True in 1939. Some believe a little girl's spirit torments those who visit or dare to live in the home. It looks like an ordinary small house, but once you step inside, it's spine-chilling.

Sometime around midnight between Sunday, June 9, and Monday, June 10, 1912, a person or persons entered a modest house in Villisca, Iowa, and bludgeoned to death eight people sleeping there, including two adults and six children aged 5 through 12. The killings became known as the “Villisca Axe Murders,” and are easily the most notorious murders in Iowa history.
