G'day Folks, On tonights episode of the General Knowledge Podcast i'm joined by Adam from the CrazzFiles.com to go over what's been happening in Australia and the world of late. Adam is based in Sydney so he's able to offer his perspective on goings-on south of the border from Queensland. Both Sydney and Melbourne saw activists take to the streets on January 26th, Australia Day, in regards to protesting our national holiday celebrating our great nation and what it means to be an Aussie. These protestors, whilst I disagree with what they are protesting about on this occasion, deserve the right to protest and freedom of speech. Let that be clear. Now what I would like to know is who is funding this movement and who is organizing this movement to cancel Australia Day and labeling it Invasion Day. Very disgraceful in my opinion. Adam and I shared our thoughts on this as well as how the government and corporations are NOT supporting the celebration of Australia Day but they'll celebrate every other day under the sun. The is intentional division being pushed on the public. We also discuss the big push by Jewish interests in Australia to reinforce their so-called plight of antisemitism. Our government is now spending millions of dollars to build Jewish Holocaust museums in major cities in order to indoctrinate the youth and maintain the Holocaust story and continue to play the victim card. So how do we get rid of the constant liberal labor opposames? We talked about the upcoming federal election and how it is actually possible to get freedom orientated parties and representatives into positions of power to hold the other major parties to account and perhaps block anything they try and do to strip freedoms from the people. Topher Field did a great video explaining this and it's IMPERATIVE to watch it and understand our preferential voting system we have in Australia. It must be shared to family and friends too. Link below! We also re-capped on the LA Fires a bit more and chatted about the Trump administration and what's been happening in his first week of being President. Selling Dead People's Things is a wry behind-the-curtain peek into the world of antiques and their obsessive owners—while still alive and after their passing.   An amusing observer of the human condition, author Duane Scott Cerny entertains in illuminating, scary, sad, or frightfully funny resale tales and essays. Whether processing the estate of a hoarding beekeeper, disassembling the retro remains of an infamous haunted hospital, or conducting an impromptu appraisal during a shiva gone disturbingly wrong, every day is a twisted treasure hunt for this 21st-century antiques dealer.  While digging deep into the basements, attics, and souls of the most interesting collectors imaginable, traveling from one odd house call to the curious next, resale predicaments will confound your every turn. Be careful where you step, watch what you touch, and gird your heart—Antiques Roadshow, this ain't!   The Dybbuk box, or Dibbuk box (Hebrew: קופסת דיבוק, romanized: Kufsat Dibbuk), is a wine-cabinet claimed to be haunted by a dybbuk, a concept from Jewish mythology. The box gained notoriety when it was auctioned off on eBayby owner Kevin Mannis, who created a story featuring Jewish Holocaust survivors and paranormal claims as part of his eBay item description. Mannis' story was the inspiration for the 2012 horror film The Possession. In 2021, Mannis told Input magazine that the Dybbuk Box story was entirely fictional.Follow Our Other ShowsFollow UFO WitnessesFollow Crime Watch WeeklyFollow Paranormal FearsFollow Seven: Disturbing Chronicle StoriesJoin our Patreon for ad-free listening and more bonus content.Follow us on Instagram @mysteriousradioFollow us on TikTok mysteriousradioTikTok Follow us on Twitter @mysteriousradio Follow us on Pinterest pinterest.com/mysteriousradio Like us on Facebook Facebook.com/mysteriousradio]

Acknowledgement of Country//Headlines//Branka Marijan, Senior Researcher at Project Ploughshares Canada, spoke with Priya earlier last week about the regulatory landscape covering military usage of artificial intelligence, reflecting on the second Responsible AI in the Military Domain or REAIM Summit held during September in Seoul, South Korea. On today's program, we'll hear part two of this conversation (you can listen back to part one here). Branka leads Project Ploughshares' research on the military and security implications of emerging technologies. Her work examines concerns regarding the development of autonomous weapons systems and the impact of artificial intelligence and robotics on security provision and trends in warfare. Her research interests include trends in warfare, civilian protection, use of drones, and civil-military relations.// Dr Jordana Silverstein, Senior Research Fellow in the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness and the granddaughter of Jewish Holocaust survivors and stateless refugees, joins us to speak about the upcoming launch of the Centre's new oral history podcast 'Being Stateless,' which she hosts. The podcast consists of interviews with people living in so-called Australia who have been stateless, offering a space to share stories, insights, knowledge and experiences of statelessness from people who migrated to this country in the second half of the twentieth century. Jordana is also the award-winning author of Cruel Care: A History of Children at Our Borders (2023) and Anxious Histories: Narrating the Holocaust in Jewish Communities at the Beginning of the Twenty-First Century (2015). The launch event for 'Being Stateless' is from 5:45PM on Wednesday 9 October at the Peter McMullin Centre on Statelessness in Arts West. Registrations are essential - you can register here.// Autistic disability activist Shaun Bickley caught up with Priya earlier this week to discuss the labour exploitation of disabled people in so-called Australia with a focus on the issue of wage theft by Australian Disability Enterprises or ADEs. Today, you'll hear part one of that conversation. Shaun is campaigning for an end to subminimum wage for disabled people in Australia, and has created an open letter, which you can sign onto as an individual or endorse on behalf of an organisation [Plain English version linked at top of letter].// Louis is a regional campaigner with Frack Free NT, a grassroots community group that has been fighting back against the destructive fracking industry in the Northern Territory for over a decade. Louis joined us in the studio all the way from Larrakia Country/Darwin to discuss urgent demand to stop Beetaloo Basin gas fracking projects, as Tamboran Resources has already started drilling for its gas project and plans to soon commence fracking, leaving precious water resources at risk.// Calls to action:Attention Brisbane Lions supporters! We may have won the flag, but we've got some important work to do. Write to club@lions.com.au (especially if you're a paid member) to raise your concern about our club's partnership with Caltex, a service station company owned by Chevron and identified as a BDS target. Find out more about Caltex's complicity in Israel's genocide in Gaza here, and #BoycottChevron.//Frack Free NT Urgent Actions:Contact your local MP or Minister for the Environment and Water Tanya Plibersek, urging them to provide an exact date or bring forward the advice requested from the Independent Expert Scientific Committee. This ensures that the advice is in before fracking starts, giving the Minister 28 days to act and stop the damage. She has the power, let's push her to use it! //Tell UniSuper to vote in favour of APA resolution. APA Group, Australia's largest gas pipeline operator, is pushing to construct pipelines to support fracking in the Beetaloo Basin. UniSuper, as APA's biggest shareholder has a crucial opportunity to live up to its climate claims and must commit to voting in favour of this resolution.//

How did things like third-trimester abortions, infanticide, euthanasia, critical race theory, transgender ideology, and drag queen story hour become embedded in modern American culture? In an age where children are exposed to pornographic material in their own school libraries and concerned parents are labeled as "domestic terrorists," where can we find the root cause of the underlying worldview that's currently dominating our society? And how did we end up here so quickly? The answers may shock you!In what may be one of the most controversial and revelatory podcast episodes to date, Frank interviews pro-life speaker Seth Gruber, author of the book and soon-to-be-released documentary called 'The 1916 Project', which explores how abortion became the linchpin of secularism and how it's destroying western civilization. As founder of the fastest-growing pro-life non-profit organization in America, The White Rose Resistance, Seth's jaw-dropping research has uncovered the dark history of Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood, and her disturbing, undeniable connection to Nazism, Darwinism, the Jewish Holocaust, and even BLM! During their conversation, Frank and Seth will answer questions like:What's so important about the years 1916 and 1619?What is eugenics, and why did Margaret Sanger specifically target black Americans? Is politics just a front for false religion, and what were Sanger's views on Christianity? Why does Planned Parenthood sponsor the distribution of puberty blockers and porn in children's libraries? What is the connection between the abortion pill and the gas used in the Nazi gas chambers? What's George Floyd got to do with it?How can you contend for life in a culture of death?Where can you catch a viewing of the film 'The 1916 Project'?This episode is rated PG-13, so please proceed with caution if you have young children in the room! Researchers in Israel are using artificial intelligence (AI) to search for the names of Jewish victims of the Holocaust who are not mentioned in official memorials. The Yad Vashem World Holocaust Remembrance Centre in Jerusalem has developed AI-powered software to aid in the search for these unnamed victims. Volunteers have collected information on 4.9 million individuals by examining statements, documents, film footage, cemeteries, and other records. The AI system, currently being tested, can sift through records in multiple languages and has already identified previously unknown victims. The researchers hope that this AI system will provide new insights into the stories of Holocaust victims and ensure their memory is preserved. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/tonyphoang/message

This is Ronnie's fifth in a series of talks exploring the Book of Ecclesiastes alongside the work of Viktor Frankl. “If possible, we change our fate. If necessary, we willingly accept it…what can be overcome, must be overcome. What cannot be overcome, must be accepted. When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” That sounds very much like words written about the same time, not from a Jewish Holocaust survivor, but a Christian theologian, Reinhold Niebuhr. You've heard his words many times I suspect: “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”

The primal scene of domination and slavery inevitably produces struggle. It must. Because domination is the idolatrous effort of one to exert control over the will of the other, and we are compelled as free beings to realize and always live that freedom. So the struggle produces dignity, and that dignity, declared and acted and performed and practiced and sung and chanted and screamed and whispered—when enacted by all human beings against various and sundry forms of domination, it leads to joy and love.Vincent Lloyd (Villanova University) joins Evan Rosa to discuss his book Black Dignity: The Struggle Against Domination. We start with what struggle against domination is, especially how it's expressed in Black life. We entertain the feeling of struggle psychologically and culturally; the ugly and vicious temptation to idolatry that seeking domination and mastery over others entails; how the humanity of both the master and the slave are lost or found; how struggle produces dignity; and an understanding of the debate between seeing dignity as purely intrinsic as opposed to performative. We close by thinking about how the Black struggle for dignity can inform all of us about what it means to actualize our humanity, embrace the power our freedom entails, culminating in joy and love. This episode was made possible in part by the generous support of the Tyndale House Foundation. When he was 19 years old, a Slovakian Jewish teenaged slave labourer named Walter Rosenberg (later he changed his name to Rudolf Vrba) did what only five Jews ever managed to do: successfully escape from Auschwitz. But his escape in April 1944 and subsequent testimony about the mass murder of Europes Jews at the Nazi death camp had an enormous impact: it reached the Allies, the Vatican and major press outlets. Vrba is credited with saving the lives of 200,000 Hungarian Jews, who would have otherwise been deported to their deaths that summer. But the killing of more than a million victims at Auschwitz haunted him until his death in Vancouver in 2006. A new book by British journalist Jonathan Freedland makes the case for Vrba being considered as one of the greatest, unknown Jewish Holocaust heroes of the time: right up there with Anne Frank, Elie Wiesel and Oskar Schindler. Freedland joins The CJN Daily from London, England to explore why that hasn't happened, and why it should. What we talked about: Learn more about The Escape Artist by Jonathan Freedland. TODAY'S GUEST   Lynn Novick has been directing and producing landmark documentary films about American life and culture, history, politics, sports, art, architecture, literature, and music for more than 30 years. The 80 hours of acclaimed PBS programming she has created in collaboration with Ken Burns include The Vietnam War, Baseball, Jazz, Frank Lloyd Wright, The War, and Prohibition. These landmark series have garnered 19 Emmy nominations. Lynn herself has received Emmy, Peabody, and Alfred I. duPont-Columbia Awards.   College behind Bars, Lynn's first film as a solo director, premiered at the New York Film Festival and aired on PBS in 2019. The four-part series immerses viewers in the inspiring and transformational journey of a small group of incarcerated men and women serving time for serious crimes, as they try to earn college degrees in one of the most rigorous prison education programs in America — the Bard Prison Initiative (BPI).   Lynn's latest series alongside Ken Burns, The U.S. and the Holocaust, explores the US knowledge of and responds to the Jewish Holocaust, the greatest humanitarian crisis of the twentieth century. It's now streaming on PBS and premiering later this month in Jerusalem.   We spoke at the end of August 2022, and I was excited to talk to Lynn after watching her remarkable College Behind Bars series. I watched the series after listening to an interview she did with Sam Harris on his podcast, and it really floored me. It proved so eloquently and so simply the basic truth — that crime and poverty are more often than not the result of lack — lack of opportunity, lack of access, lack of information, and lack of belonging.   It shows the transformative power of education, opportunity, respect, and high expectations, even on people convicted of violent crimes. And in that way it very subtly but powerfully condemns the system that doesn't provide such opportunities.   It was wonderful to chat with Lynn, learn about her life in documentary making, and hear about her experience behind the scenes making College Behind Bars and her continued engagement with the students in the film long after the filming.   EPISODE SUMMARY   In this conversation we talk about: The US and the Holocaust documentary, and the antisemitism, xenophobia and nativism, and the rejection of Jewish refugees during the Holocaust. How the Watergate crisis led her down the path to documentary filmmaking. The power of documentaries to change views and bring truth to life. The films she made alongside Ken Burns covering the Vietnam War, jazz, the architect Frank Lloyd Wright, and many others. Her film, College Behind Bars, and the process of making it. The Bard Prison Initiative and why it is so special. The history of prison and education. The power of education. History of crime and punishment in the US. And many other topics.    Lynn goes deep into topic after topic in American life, and as a result she's a broad and fascinating thinker and speaker. Beyond the incredible power of College Behind Bars, what stayed with me is the power of documentary film to start us thinking and talking about complex topics, and in some cases, like with College Behind Bars, to affect a change in policy.   This conversation is one a dozen or so weekly conversations we already have lined up for you with thinkers, designers, makers, authors, entrepreneurs, and activists who are working to change our world for the better. On today's show we discuss the book Conjuring Hitler: How Britain and America Made the Third Reich. A key focus will be on a) how events have unfolded since the book was written; b) relating the substance of our discussion to what's unfolding in the here and now, and how the “great game” is being played today. GUEST OVERVIEW: Guido Preparata is notable in particular for his revisionist work on the received Western official narrative of World War II. It demonstrates that Anglo-American geo-political objectives between the wars were aimed squarely at the destruction of Germany and Soviet Russia as aspiring competitors in the pursuit of world hegemony, with the the UK and America very far from the heroic injured innocents of the official narrative. Unlike others, Preparata's revisionism has not concentrated on the Jewish Holocaust. He has thus been spared the "beyond the pale" opprobrium of authors such as David Irving, Norman Finkelstein, Robert Faurisson, Germar Rudolf and others but has nonetheless had to deal with the sort of routine establishment nastiness that such iconoclasm inevitably generates (see Conjuring Hitler - Four years on for a flavour of these attacks) His subsequent cogent analyses of the post-9/11 'War on Terror' and its roots in post-war Western culture, especially that of the USA builds on the Work of Peter Dale Scott and others. This interview ranges over these subjects in a readable and thoroughly illuminating manner. It is a good introduction to his two major books Conjuring Hitler and The Ideology of Tyranny.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis responds curtly to the political critics of his decision to fly detained migrants to the coveted island vacation spot of Martha's Vineyard. DeSantis specifically responds to the CNN interview comment of documentarian Ken Burns who characterized the charter plane flight to Martha's Vineyard as akin to the Jewish Holocaust in World War II Germany. KVI's John Carlson examines how the American political Left has tried to distort the Martha's Vineyard ploy to denigrate DeSantis.

In 2003, a listing appeared on eBay for a box haunted by a dybbuk. With the Hebrew word Shema inscribed on the back, the lister, Kevin Mannis, wove an intricate story of a Jewish Holocaust survivor and a demon trapped in a wine box. The Internet flew into a rage, fascinated and sickened by the idea of a box so terrible, and dybbuk boxes came to life. This is the first mention of a dybbuk box in history, but these creatures of Jewish folklore have existed for centuries... Make no mistake, Kevin Mannis created the Dybbuk Box. He probably didn't expect the avalanche-like cult following that would come from it...Neither did the Jewish community, which suddenly had to take up arms to combat the raging misinformation and antisemitism that spread like a wildfire as a result. Today, we discuss the true nature of Dybbukim, find out whether or not Post Malone is actually cursed by a dybbuk, and read the true confession of the creator of the worlds (fakest) haunted object. follow along on instagram @jewitches, twitter @thejewitches, and read the blog jewitches.com --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jewitches/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jewitches/support
