    Eric Abbey is a very talented Detroit based musician, dj, and author. He plays in a number of ska/reggae groups including J. Navvaro and the Traitors, Detroit Riddim Crew, and Killer Diller. Dr. Abbey published a book based on research from his dissertation in May of this year titled - Distillation of Sound: Dub and the Creation of Culture. During this interview we chat about the creation of the book, music, his appreciation of Jamaican music, and what led him to studying Jamaican music/culture. This interview was recorded at the beginning of June weeks after his book was published and was delayed due to random ska dad stuff. Enjoy!
