I had the honor of writing the spoken word piece that will live in the song and synthesizes the students lived experiences into a professional music track embedded with spoken word. We took some time with our favorite foodie, Margaret Feinberg, to talk about the relationship between scripture and meals. Margaret shares how God gave us taste buds to enjoy flavors and experience the joy of enjoying. In her new book, Taste & See, she takes us on an inspired journey around the world that brings scripture alive through interactive activities and bible study. This conversation holds a treasured description of the use of olive oil and the Old Testament. Margaret reminds us that food and oils can be healing inside our bodies, even when we do not see it. She says, “You are an agent of human flourishing” and there is beauty in being vulnerable at the dinner table, even over a simple meal Trader Joe's Orange Chicken and rice.
