On this episode of Mind The Mess, we start with a fun fact about the number 121 from KEB The Producer...right? Right, guys? Wrong, you'll know why. Then we get into some sports talk starting with the king, the NFL. The best part for you non-sports fans is it's about a QB hook up. That's right, if you don't know football, look up Zach Wilson's face and listen to us talk. Then we get into the Panther's QB room, which is pretty crowded right now with two top 5 picks from the same draft. RJ also gives a list of some QB "competitions" this season and it's rough. Plus Deshaun Watson's suspension rumors isn't great. But the second biggest NFL news, next to a mom's-friend-hook-up, is the horrible name the Steelers now have for their stadium. We don't know how to say it and we are convinced no one else does either. But it sounds like it's named after the Aggro Crag from Global Guts, and that, that's what we will call it. Plus it wouldn't be summer time without some SELTZERS! Yup, this episode is sponsored by Bud Light (but not really) but we are tasting and rating. Also KEB hates the Garrett system and we kind of correct it. Also there are many stories in this one, 2 from RJ that lead to KEB's way to deal with people asking him for money, Medium T's potty training and KEB's friend who sleeps with extra protection. Man, what a show. Enjoy!
Nickelodeon's GUTS, later Global GUTS, was a mainstay of the network's "cheaply produced gameshows" that acted as ballast for some of the other, bigger shows. Each episode, a group of kids competed in physical challenges, culminating in a trip up the Aggro Crag, for a chance to win a "glowing piece of that radical rock". From this setup, we get a really anemic minigame collection that's mostly repeats... so Gary talks about a juggler he saw recently.
This week the wonderful Morgan Peters joins us to discuss THE GAME ROOM episode of Floor is Lava, featuring teams of pretty serious athletes doing somewhat lackluster disco moves. On this weeks podcast we tried to get a few stories in before we started talking about sports and getting kicked in the nuts as kids. There may not be a whole lot of stories covered, but I think that it worked out to about 50-50 story to random talking. That's good enough for me.
