The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) intercepted two Russian and two Chinese bombers flying near Alaska on Wednesday, which a U.S. defense official said was the first time aircraft from the two countries have been intercepted while operating together. The bombers remained in international airspace in Alaska's Air Defense Identification Zone and were “not seen as a threat,” according to a statement from NORAD. California Gov. Gavin Newsom issued an executive order on July 25 for the removal of homeless encampments in his state.
