Join me, Bryan Hopkins, on a soul-stirring expedition into the heart of rock 'n' roll with Josie Scott, Saliva's legendary former frontman. We're rewinding time to our cherished first encounter and the stories that wove our lives together—like the eerie, sleepless night that gave birth to the explosive hit "Click, Click, Boom." Tap into the magic of our conversation as we explore the deep spiritual and generational ties that music forges, and the unforgettable moments onstage in Alaska where the raw power of rock echoed through the icy wilderness. Get ready to turn up the volume because Saliva is roaring back to life, bringing with them the Parental Advisory Tour, featuring heavy hitters Trapped, Adema, and Tantric. Josie and I dissect the profound influence that Saliva's anthems have on fans, often serving as a beacon through their darkest times. And as we gear up for a performance that promises to shake the foundations of Fairbanks' The Spur, I'm laying bare the camaraderie that fuels our music and the anticipation of delivering a show that pulsates with the legendary spirit of rock. As our musical saga draws to a close, we're not just leaving you with ringing ears but also hearts full of inspiration. From my personal triumph over weight loss to my son's own transformative journey, we're sharing the tenacity and passion that drive us to chase our dreams. And as we recount a woman's smile that forever captured my friend's heart, we're reminded of the simple yet profound human connections that leave lasting imprints. As we bid farewell, I tease a future tale of my sister's unforgettable tattoo escapade, leaving you with a lingering sense of gratitude and the promise of more stories to come. Stepping into the studio with me, Bryan Hopkins, Matt Ferranti brought more than just his guitar; he carried tales of a transformative journey that's every bit as melodic as his tunes. As we traded stories of life on the road and shared stages with the likes of Brett Young and Gavin DeGraw, Matt's narrative wove through the highs and lows of an artist's life. Joined by Jay Hartley, we unpacked the essence of Nashville's creative kinship, revealing how the city's collaborative heartbeat helped artists like Matt pivot from disrupted tours to new beginnings during the pandemic's peak. The thread of music's intertwining with life's pivotal moments was a recurring melody in our conversation. Matt opened up about the personal courage it took to leave a secure gig to chase his own dreams, reflecting the same bold spirit that led him to Nashville and into a successful partnership with Jay. We celebrated the release of Matt's EP, a testament to the support within the music community, as Brett Young not only co-produced the record but provided songs, showcasing the depth of their professional bond and camaraderie. As our session drew to a close, Matt graced us with a heart-stirring performance of "Find Other Hearts to Break," a raw, unreleased track that left us hanging on every chord. We wrapped up the symphony of our chat with a nod to the authenticity of artists like Jelly Roll and a moving rendition of "Love Somebody," which served as a reminder of music's enduring power to capture the soul of life's journey. It's not just an episode; it's an intimate backstage pass to the stories and songs that define the Heroes Journey podcast.

Navigating the jagged path of personal redemption and family intricacies can be as treacherous as it is enlightening. Brett Raymer of "Tanked" fame joins me, Bryan Hopkins, in a raw and riveting conversation that peels back the curtain on his life, both in front of the camera and away from it. We tackle everything from Brett's journey through the pain of a career-ending injury and early brushes with substance use to the efforts to clear his name when his reputation and family's peace were on the line. My own story interweaves with Brett's, revealing a transformative move from New York to Las Vegas that sparked a sequence of life-altering events. Listeners will hear tales of the Vegas nightlife that led to love and trouble, and the hustle of the '90s that forged the bonds of family and friendship—sometimes in the fire of betrayal. It's a saga that proves the glitz and glamour of television fame comes with its own set of sacrifices and emotional tolls. But amidst the backdrop of public life, the potency of human connection stands undeterred. This episode isn't shy about diving into the heartache of a hidden extramarital affair, the strain of addiction, and the financial scandals that arise when the cameras stop rolling. We unravel the complexities of keeping secrets for the sake of success, and the resilience it takes to rise from the ashes of a canceled TV show and a business in turmoil. Brett's story is one of persistence, of rebuilding, and of the unwavering love for his family—a testament to the strength found in vulnerability and truth. @smp.ink @stickypawsstudios @jpscomputers @elvismonroe @trubeautybytrevor5498 @WestCoastTattooParlor Sponsors: https://www.instagram.com/smp.ink/ Podcast Socials: https://www.instagram.com/heroesjourneypodcast/ https://www.facebook.com/heroesjourneypodcast https://twitter.com/HeroesJourneyP https://www.tiktok.com/@heroesjourneypodcast https://www.instagram.com/elvismonroeofficial/

Hey it’s Arroe. This is Play It Forward. A look at the unexpected changes endured by entertainers, writers, camera people and all others affected but not infected by the global invasion of the Coronavirus. The goal is to feature two different types of episodes. The individual conversations as well as a collected array of the entire picture. Real people. Real stories. The struggle to Play It Forward. Episode 19: Elvis Monroe Be The Change Slowly we are reassuring ourselves that something greater will come of this strange place in global history. Four weeks ago who would’ve thought that every shape of entertainment would fall from the marque outside the building. Full tours brought to a close. Recording projects silenced. It honestly feels like the past twenty years have been unbelievably trying for each nation but never like we’re presently experiencing. Bryan Hopkins and Ben Carey front the band Elvis Monroe. Two best friends who’ve not seen each other in weeks. But it didn’t stop the music. This is a journey of birth. The arrival of the art you know delivered to the galleries we know. From a disaster masterpieces shall rise.

Today on the Tales of a Red Clay Rambler Podcast I have an interview with Bryan Hopkins. A long-time porcelain vessel maker, he constructs his pieces leaving the seams and joinery visible. The effect hints at the history of refined porcelain production, while also showing the potential for future decay and deconstruction. He says of his love of material, “I have been using porcelain for about 20 years now, and am drawn to its physical qualities (strength, fragility, color, translucence) as well as the implicit class association, cultural significance, and assumption of purity and worth.”    In the interview we talk about his time documenting punk bands, mining the urban landscape for inspiring textures/patterns, and developing a unique approach to beauty. To find out more about his work please visit www.hopkinspottery.com.   This episode of the Tales of a Red Clay Rambler is sponsored by the 2017 Canadian Clay Symposium. Happening March 18th 2017 at the Shadbolt Center for the Arts in Vancouver, Canada, this one day symposium invites participants to explore our changing relationships with emerging technologies. Through interactive demonstrations, panel discussions and exhibits, a diverse group of ten international presenters will address the relevance of traditional and contemporary technologies. For more information or to register for the conference, please visit www.canadianclaysymposium.com.
