In today's episode of 15:14, Kevin Carson, Executive Director of the Biblical Counseling Coalition, is joined by Janet Aucoin, Director of Women's Ministry at Faith Church in Lafayette, Indiana, and host of the Joyful Journey Podcast. Janet shares how the podcast began during the COVID era, her passion for providing women with biblically rich, practically helpful content, and the lessons she has learned over six seasons of ministry. The conversation explores the heart behind Joyful Journey's tagline—"When you choose truth, you choose joy"—and highlights Janet's commitment to helping listeners move beyond merely knowing biblical truth to faithfully applying it in everyday relationships and circumstances. Janet also offers a powerful discussion on biblical love, drawing from John 13 and the Old Testament concept of hesed. She explains how Christ's sacrificial love becomes both the foundation for our identity and the model for how we love others through suffering, sin, and life's difficult challenges. Janet is ACBC certified, teaches at Faith Community Institute, coordinates the Faith Bible Seminary Wives Fellowship, and serves as a retreat and conference speaker. She holds a B.S. in Human Resources from the University of South Florida. As you listen, pay special attention to this incredible quote: "We love because He first loved us. Before we focus on what we need to do, we need to stand under the waterfall of Christ's love for us." You can listen to the Joyful Journey Podcast here. Throughout a career spanning roles as a teacher, BBC television producer, coach and prolific author, Jenny Rogers has never been afraid of getting things wrong. In this episode of The Coach's Journey Podcast, the executive coach, supervisor, trainer and author of coaching titles such as Are You Listening? tells host Neil Mackinnon about the vital importance of experimentation and of embracing our mistakes in order to benefit from a lifetime of learning experiences that make us better coaches and ground us in our humanity.Jenny flies the flag for a whole-life perspective in coaching, eschewing narrow approaches in favour of a style that acknowledges the way our personal and working lives are inextricably intertwined, and makes room for all the parts of us.A deep interest in psychotherapy has enriched Jenny's coaching practice and she highlights the modalities that fascinate her the most, as well as the key therapeutic ideas and techniques that are readily transferrable to any coaching practice.Jenny also discusses her latest books, which address important questions about navigating boundaries as a new coach and working through the challenges many women face in midlife. This episode is full of sage advice drawn from a wonderfully diverse, rich career in coaching and creativity, shared by a practitioner whose dauntless spirit of curiosity and passion for understanding human relationships is as infectious as it is inspiring.Jenny and Neil also talk about:- The relationship between trauma-aware coaching and psychodynamic therapy- Nurturing a healthy writing practice and overcoming creative blocks- How we accumulate rigid ways of thinking, and why it is hard to make change on your own- The art of embodying a place of non-judgement, and offering challenge with compassionTHINGS WE TALKED ABOUT THAT YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN:- Jenny Rogers https://www.jennyrogers.com- BBC https://www.bbc.co.uk- Delia Smith https://www.deliaonline.com- Madhur Jaffrey https://www.madhurjaffrey.com- BBC Two https://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo- BBC Books https://www.penguin.co.uk/company/publishers/bbc-books- Columbia University https://www.columbia.edu- Management Futures https://www.managementfutures.co.uk- Are You Listening (book) https://www.penguin.co.uk/books/111/1115931/are-you-listening/9780241973986.html- Julia Vaughan-Smith https://www.juliavaughansmith.com- Nscience https://nscience.uk- Franz Ruppert https://www.franz-ruppert.de/en/- Irvin Yalom https://www.yalom.com- The Gift of Therapy (book) https://www.harpercollins.com/products/the-gift-of-therapy-irvin-d-yalom- Carl Rogers https://www.britannica.com/biography/Carl-Rogers- Gabor Mate https://www.upaya.org/person/dr-gabor-mate- University College Hospital London https://www.uclh.nhs.uk- Guildhall School of Music & Drama https://www.gsmd.ac.uk- How Not to Be a Doctor, by John Launer https://www.duckworthbooks.co.uk/book/how-not-to-be-a-doctor/- Barbican Centre https://www.barbican.org.uk- City of London Corporation https://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk- EMCC Global https://www.emccglobal.org- ILM https://www.institutelm.com- Coaches Training Institute (Co-Active) https://coactive.comBIOGRAPHY FROM JENNYI am an executive coach, coach trainer and supervisor, and accreditation assessor for APECS, the premier coaching accreditation body of the UK. Along with these roles, I am a writer, textile artist, cook, grandmother and keen walker. Thirty five years ago, I was an early entrant to the world of coaching, after earlier careers in teaching, television production and publishing. Typically, my clients are facing a major transition in their lives and find that a coaching perspective is the key to finding solutions that work. As a coach I work with senior clients in the law, medicine, finance, healthcare, performing arts and media along with volunteer roles for severely disadvantaged women. I consider myself to be a leader in a new approach to coaching which combines insights from psychotherapy with the pragmatic emphasis on change that distinguishes the best coaching traditions.I was honoured to win the Henley Business School Award for Outstanding Contribution to Coaching in 2019. My books include Are You Listening? a book of coaching stories published by Penguin Random House in 2021. I have written 9 other books on coaching, including Coaching Skills: the definitive guide to being a coach. A fifth edition, much updated, was published in 2024. My latest book, Fearless Coaching, will be published in 2026 and a book for women in mid-life (title TBD) in early 2027 by Octopus Books.

The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.Synergy is what happens when something new is created through coming together. In groups, it has a recognizable structure:A common aim and shared intentionReal opportunities for contributionIndividual purpose remaining intact, and something new is bornJames Hillman called this new thing a daimon — a third being or soul that emerges from the wholeness of two or more parts uniting. It's a result of learning, growing, and being porous to those you unite with. That doesn't mean indiscriminately taking in everything like a democracy, but always aiming to grow and expand knowledge, understanding, and wisdom. There's a creative momentum to synergy. Myles Downey's new book, The Sessions, marks a transition, a metamorphosis in his influential body of work. And that becomes the theme of this, his third appearance on The Coach's Journey Podcast. What happens when it is no longer sustainable to remain what you have been? What is it like to have an idea - like Myles did with The Sessions more than 30 years ago - and not be able to let it go? And for Padraig, the protagonist of The Sessions, what is it like for someone to step into their own shoes, becoming a leader, becoming oneself as a leader? That is just the start, though, in a wide-ranging conversation about Myles' work, his new book, and what he has coming up next as part of what has already been an incredibly influential and impactful career, which started working closely with Sir John Whitmore in the early days of coaching in the UK and passed through The School of Coaching, his bestselling book Effective Modern Coaching and his powerful work on genius, which culminated in the book, Enabling Genius. In particular, we talk about: Whether it is our duty and responsibility to express ourselves. Poetry, prose, fiction, non-fiction, and Myles' relationship to reading and writing (and what this has to do with coaching).Myles' passion for human nature, creativity and how human beings should be more of themselves, not less of themselves. The close relationship between genius and being seen as mad, and why some leaders and CEOs see genius as dangerous. One of the most powerful coaching exercises Myles did with Robbie when he was Robbie's coach. And at the end, Myles tells a moving story about the influence of his wife, Jo, on The Sessions and his wider work, and gives a tantalising trailer for what might be his next book: The Inner Game of Leadership - what it takes to express oneself, configured around the notion of leadership. In a world that's growing darker and more corrupt, the call for believers is simple: stay steady and remain faithful. Just as Paul sent Titus to lead the church in Crete—a place marked by immorality and disorder—this episode highlights what it means to “adorn the doctrine” through everyday obedience. Faithfulness isn't always dramatic; it's often found in ordinary, consistent choices: caring for your home, loving others well, and holding firmly to God's truth. Rather than trying to fix everything around us, we're called to focus on what God has placed in front of us today. From order in the church, to the home, to the world, God is a God of order—and He faithfully directs the steps of those who follow Him. When Mel Sims discovered coaching, she was adamant that nobody could understand her life. Her journey into coaching allowed her to put down the mask, harness her strengths, and re-emerge into the world as a neurodivergent emotional coach.Mel trained as a coach while learning about herself through the lens of an ADHD diagnosis. As well as offering her a pathway of personal growth, these experiences helped Mel find her niche through the realisation that neurodivergent people need a particular coaching approach. In this episode of The Coach's Journey Podcast, Mel speaks to host Joey Owen about different styles of emotional communication, and the many ways in which people can be misunderstood. She talks about how being an “unpolished” coach enables her to offer a space where people can let go of their need hide their feelings and be guided by an authentic intuition.Mel offers several brilliant metaphors and visualisation techniques that illuminate this episode, such as the idea of wearing a colander on your head as a way to filter information, and thinking of neurodivergent minds as stars that have become more visible in our world of modern telescopes and greater understanding. The challenges of time management, rest and staying grounded are explored in this episode as Mel describes how she tailors coaching to people who might need alternative approaches to scheduling, flexibility, communication and depth.Mel and Joey also talk about:The intuitive, bordering-on-magical connection that neurodivergent people share having navigated shared challengesHow to make space for emotional outpourings that can have a transformative impact in coaching sessionsA psychological technique that enables a kinder, more compassionate approach to self-coachingHow to own your weak spots and set healthy expectationsMel also explains why she starts some of her inspirational coaching talks wearing a snorkel, a diving mask and a pair of flippers! For more information about Mel, visit: https://melsimslifecoach.co.uk or @theadhdhummingbird on Facebook and InstagramFor more information about host Joey Owen, visit http://www.joeyowencoaching.com/ Read more about The Coach's Journey at www.thecoachsjourney.comMusic by My Good Man William: listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4KmeQUcTbeE31uFynHQLQgTo support the Coach's Journey, visit www.patreon.com/thecoachsjourney and to join the Coach's Journey Community visit www.thecoachsjourney.com/community. Fresh back from Confluence in Texas, this episode is about returning — coming back with something real.I'll share some highlights and adventures from the experience, and what transformation happens when we step out of our usual environments. Patterns loosen, new clarity appears while you're away, but many people wonder how to hold onto it when they're back in regular life. In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, we move to the next phase:Drop it.Once you've spotted a pattern, tracked it, and recognized its structure… there's only one thing left to do.Not fix it.Not manage it.Not analyze it further. But to drop it.To let it move through you instead of holding it in place.Life is full of things we cling to — both the “good” and the “bad.”When something feels good, we try to hold onto it.When something goes wrong, we hold onto fear, betrayal, and drama. If we get what we want, we fear losing it.If we don't get what we want, we chase it.Different expressions… same mechanism:Holding. And holding is anti-freedom.But it also creates friction. And if you follow that friction precisely, it can lead to a turning point — a moment where you see clearly that what you're holding onto is not serving you. From there, a choice becomes available:Drop it.In this episode, I explore:Why holding onto both pleasure and pain keeps patterns in placeHow suppression and clinging both feed the same structureWhat it actually means to “let something move through you”Why dropping something is not lossThe illusion of the “lose-lose” scenario (and the program behind it)How the system is actually rigged in your favorThis may not be a popular perspective, but it's an important one:We're not here to get what we want.(Though sometimes we do.)We're here to discover what we are beneath everything we're holding onto. And that requires letting go — not as an idea, but as a real-time act.Let's take a Beth of Fresh Air together.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-upApply to become a House of Free Will Member: https://www.bethmartens.com/house-of-free-will-applicationDo a starter online course: Deprogramming 101 or Find Your Sacred Purposehttps://www.bethmartens.com/deprogramming101https://www.bethmartens.com/find-your-sacred-purpose-online-course ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, I'm getting into one of the most powerful aspects of deprogramming:The pattern interrupt. If you've been following along, you know I've been spending time with the work of G. I. Gurdjieff—and for someone who rarely finds great resonance in other systems, I've found a surprising amount of common ground. One of his key insights:For anything to change…it needs an injection of energy.A shock.Without it, patterns continue.Mechanically. Predictably. Repeatedly. In my work as a deprogramming and archetype coach, I'm essentially a professional pattern interruptor. In this episode, I'll explore:What an interrupt actually is (and what it's not)Why patterns don't shift on their ownThe role of “shock” in transformationHow to catch patterns in real time, not just in hindsightThe nuance (and danger) of trying to interrupt other people's patterns
In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, I'm exploring something deceptively simple — and incredibly powerful:Naming. To name something is not just to describe it.It is to bring it into form. It's one of the first capacities we develop as humans — learning language, learning to differentiate, learning to point to reality and say, this is that. And from there, everything changes.Naming is an Alchemist power. But it also carries an Alchemist shadow.Because the same ability that reveals truth can also conceal it — hiding a lie inside a word that sounds true.In this episode, I explore:How language development gives us the ability to name and organize realityWhy naming can bring immense relief — especially when you finally have language for a pattern you've been living insideThe shadow side: how naming can create a false sense of resolutionWhy people often love their diagnoses The difference between naming a pattern and deprogramming itThe opportunity to reclaim words that have been hijacked, inverted, or pervertedWe'll also get practical. Not everything should be named. And not everything should be named in the same way. This episode is part of what I'm calling The Free Seeing Series — developing the capacity to perceive clearly, what the heck.Because naming something is not the end. It's only useful if it leads to seeing — and from there, to actual freedom.Let's take a Beth of Fresh Air together.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-upApply to become a House of Free Will Member: https://www.bethmartens.com/house-of-free-will-applicationDo a starter online course: Deprogramming 101 or Find Your Sacred Purposehttps://www.bethmartens.com/deprogramming101https://www.bethmartens.com/find-your-sacred-purpose-online-course ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... Ian Bick returns to The Journey Podcast for one of our most eye-opening episodes yet. Ian built a media empire from scratch after serving time in federal prison and today he breaks down exactly what life inside is really like, what the criminal justice system gets wrong, and how he turned his story into a thriving podcast with 500K subscribers. We also get into what it life is like at Fort Dix with Diddy, why MrBeast's prison was actually harder than real prison, the unwritten rules of surviving federal prison, and the common thread Ian has found after interviewing hundreds of ex-convicts.The Journey Podcast Merchhttps://thejourneypodcast.shopEXCLUSIVE AD FREE EPISODEShttps://www.patreon.com/c/TheJourneyPodINSTAGRAMhttps://www.instagram.com/zacharycummings_https://www.instagram.com/thejourneypodcasthttps://www.instagram.com/johnscafiddijrhttps://www.instagram.com/ian_bickTik Tok https://www.tiktok.com/thejourneypodcast__#IanBick #FederalPrison #PrisonStories #MrBeast #lockedinwithianbick
In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, we're getting into one of the most useful skills you can develop if you want to move through life with any kind of clarity:Spot it.Life is not random. It's recursive.Themes repeat.Patterns cycle.Spirals move — not in circles, but in layers. If you've ever had the experience of thinking, “Didn't I already go through this?” — you did. Just not from the same vantage point.I've seen this very clearly in my own life, even in something as simple as repeat trips with my son — similar setups, familiar dynamics, but new layers revealed each time. The pattern doesn't disappear. It evolves. And that's the key. This isn't about breaking patterns. It's about seeing them clearly enough that they can evolve. In this episode, Micah Ellars -- filmmaker and adept in the work of G. Gurdjieff -- and I explore:The recursive nature of life and why themes repeatWhy spirals don't mean you're stuck — they mean you're seeing deeperHow patterns in others are are seen more easilyHow to use this spotting in your favour, it's not what you thinkWhy curiosity is not optional — it's a necessary skillHow what feels like chaos often has underlying structureAnd how becoming a pattern hunter can save you years of confusionWhen you start to see patterns, you stop taking everything at face value. You stop reacting to every moment as if it's brand new.You begin to recognize structure — in yourself, in others, in culture, in relationships. And from there, something shifts. Not because you forced change. But because you can finally see what's actually happening.Let's take a Beth of Fresh Air together.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-upApply to become a House of Free Will Member: https://www.bethmartens.com/house-of-free-will-applicationDo a starter online course: Deprogramming 101 or Find Your Sacred Purposehttps://www.bethmartens.com/deprogramming101https://www.bethmartens.com/find-your-sacred-purpose-online-course ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, I'm turning my attention to something subtle, pervasive, and rarely questioned: scent. It's everywhere. From perfumes and cleaning products to public spaces and travel environments, scent shapes our experience more than we tend to notice — influencing mood, affecting the body, and sometimes overwhelming the senses in ways that are hard to ignore once you start paying attention. After a recent trip out of the country with my son, I found myself in what can only be described as a kind of scented assault. What started as a simple journey quickly turned into a series of plot twists all centered around this one theme. In this solo episode, I'll share that story — how it unfolded, how we navigated it, and what it revealed.I'll also talk about:The constant presence of toxic scents in modern environmentsHow scent interacts with the body and nervous systemWhy this is such an overlooked influence on our experiencePractical and sometimes quirky ways I've learned to work with itWhat happens when you're pushed out of comfort and into awarenessAlong the way, I'll share some of the other memorable parts of the trip — including run-ins with officials (some good, some not so good), unexpected challenges, and the genuinely good things that came out of what initially felt like a shock to the system. This episode is part reflection, part exploration, and part practical navigation.Let's take a Beth of Fresh Air together.Beth of Fresh Air is a place to look deep and see widely, to play with perception and perspective, in service of evolving culture and the power of the human spirit.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-upApply to become a House of Free Will Member: https://www.bethmartens.com/house-of-free-will-application ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... Mike Myer, CEO of Quiq, spoke with Moshe Beauford of Technology Reseller News during the Enterprise Connect conference about how artificial intelligence is transforming customer engagement across voice and digital channels. Myer explained that organizations increasingly need to manage conversations across the entire customer journey, whether those interactions are handled by human agents or AI-powered automation. Quiq focuses on enabling businesses to orchestrate these conversations across messaging, voice, and digital channels while ensuring a consistent and personalized experience. “Customers expect seamless conversations regardless of the channel they use, and AI is helping organizations deliver that at scale,” Myer said. Quiq's platform allows enterprises to combine automation with human support, enabling AI systems to handle routine inquiries while escalating more complex issues to human agents. This hybrid approach helps organizations improve efficiency while maintaining high-quality customer experiences. The discussion also highlighted how enterprises are moving toward omnichannel engagement models where conversations flow naturally between channels such as SMS, messaging apps, and voice interactions. AI-driven orchestration enables companies to manage these interactions more intelligently and respond to customers faster. As conversations at Enterprise Connect continue to focus on AI and customer experience innovation, Quiq is positioning its platform as a way for enterprises to manage and optimize conversations across the entire customer lifecycle. Let's Chat!I'm back, and I owe you the real reason the feed went quiet. After a huge run of content, I hit creative burnout hard. The ideas dried up, the work started feeling like I was going through the motions, and I couldn't pretend that was the standard you deserve. So I stepped away, took the hit to my pride, and waited until I could create from a better place. Now the Gentleman's Journey Podcast is moving into its next era with a clearer identity. The early seasons leaned heavily into self-development, motivation, and improvement. Then I started blending in storytelling with reflective questions, and I'll be honest, that format got harder to carry as my interests shifted. The passion didn't disappear, but the stories I wanted to write stopped fitting the old lane. This comeback is a creative reset and a podcast reboot built around what I'm genuinely excited to make: narrative audio, character-driven arcs, and a universe that can grow over time. Before the new chapter fully opens, I'm finishing what I promised. Grandeur returns as a tighter 10-part series in the classic format, serving as the send-off for Gent's Journey as you've known it. After that, we step into Gent's Journey Presents with new music, a new feel, and stories that range from love to horror to mythic ideas that have been waiting in the wings. If you've ever felt your own “idea well” run dry, I think this will hit home. Subscribe so you don't miss Grandeur, share this with a friend who's rebuilding after burnout, and leave a review telling me what kind of stories you want next. What genre should I tackle first?"True mastery is found in the details. The way you handle the little things defines the way you handle everything."

In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, I'm joined in person by good friend, meditation teacher, and truth advocate Wonnita Brands. After the chaos of 2020 and the years that followed, something strange has happened culturally: the world seems eager to move on as if nothing happened. As if we didn't live through:Lockdowns and the forced isolation of families and communitiesThe criminalization of gathering with friends and loved onesA medical system that shifted toward enforcement and policingPublic shaming campaigns against the unmasked and unvaccinatedSegregation based on personal health choicesThe sweeping fear surrounding a virus that was never properly isolatedWonnita and I were together in the thick of it — living through the fallout side by side during those turbulent years. In this episode we revisit some of those experiences, reflecting on what it meant to navigate that period consciously while the world around us moved in a very different direction. This conversation is not simply about revisiting grievances or cataloguing wrongs. It's about bringing difficult experiences into the light so they can be metabolized and understood.Unprocessed collective trauma doesn't disappear — it shapes perception, behavior, and relationships going forward. When left unexamined, it can colour the future with fear, mistrust, and limitation. We will explore how awareness, reflection, and honest conversation can help transform the lingering effects of those years — turning what might otherwise remain as PTSD into insight, resilience, and freedom.Join the livestream for a candid and thoughtful conversation about memory, meaning, and moving forward with greater clarity.Let's take a Beth of Fresh Air together.Beth of Fresh Air is a place to look deep and see widely, to play with perception and perspective, in service of evolving culture and the power of the human spirit.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-upApply to become a House of Free Will Member: https://www.bethmartens.com/house-of-free-will-application ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... By studying Plato and Socrates for more than a decade, Anise Frost learned the art of asking questions that unlock the hidden parts of people. Her mastery of that skill has forged relationships of trust with brands and organisations who turn to her for team coaching and consultancy. In return she helps them explore deeply and unearth new pathways for development.Anise was a maths teacher when she discovered coaching, and her years in the classroom gave her relational skills, resilience and an ability to hold space that would be difficult to develop in the same way in any other setting. In this episode of The Coach's Journey Podcast, Anise describes how team coaching allows her to bring “all the magic” of teaching, coaching, and neuro-linguistic programming together to enhance collaboration, make group dynamics visible, and instill purpose in the teams she works with. In conversation with host Alex Whitton, Anise describes how she curates coaching spaces in which men can be vulnerable, as well as spaces where women in leadership can accelerate their development. She also speaks about the Executive Round Table discussions she facilitates for her LinkedIn contacts, offering a space where people from divergent industries can reflect on resonant themes and topics.Anise and Alex also talk about:Having the confidence to not only sit with uncertainty but flex in response to itHow to keep your cup full and avoid the common pitfall of compassion fatigueWhat happens when we focus too much on asking the right question and not enough on being curiousHow to stop working against the grain of your own preferences when building your coaching businessAnise also shares the story of meeting with one of the world's biggest brands and explains how she side-stepped her imposter syndrome to allow her expertise and brilliance to shine undimmed.THINGS WE TALKED ABOUT THAT YOU MIGHT BE INTERESTED IN:- The Coaching Academy https://www.the-coaching-academy.com/ - More Happi https://morehappi.com/ - Women in Business Network https://wibn.co.uk/- Sam Isaacson on The Coach's Journey Podcast https://www.thecoachsjourney.com/podcast/112-sam-isaacson-the-challenges-facing-coaching-in-the-age-of-ai - Claire Pedrick on The Coach's Journey Podcast https://www.thecoachsjourney.com/podcast/episode-44-claire-pedrick-cutting-through-complexity-and-simplifying-coaching - NLP https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neuro-linguistic_programming- Rich Litvin https://richlitvin.com/ - Nicky Davies https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicky-j-davies-executivecoach/- Patrick Lencioni, The Five Dysfunctions of a Team https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Five_Dysfunctions_of_a_Team

In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, Beth welcomes a modern Renaissance man — filmmaker, teacher, actor, health coach specializing in the Love Your Liver approach, truth lover, a devoted student of his own psyche, adept in the work of G. I. Gurdjieff and Carl Jung.In a culture that prizes specialization — where the right hand no longer knows what the left one does — this conversation explores the forgotten art of being whole. What does it mean to develop mastery across domains?Physical and nutritional intelligence. Mental and logical rigor. Creative expression. Technical skill. Emotional navigation. Psychological self-awareness.Not as hobbies. Not as surface sampling. But as disciplined, embodied development. This episode examines the difference between being “well-rounded” and cultivating true range — the kind that requires continually entering arenas where you are not yet competent, breaking new ground, and resisting identity built on narrow expertise. Together, we will explore:* Why specialization culture fragments the psyche* Mastery across physical, mental, creative, and technical realms* Gurdjieff's work on attention and mechanical living* Jung's individuation and the integration of opposites* The creative process as psychological revelation* Why staying in your strength is a subtle form of stagnation* The discipline required to expand range* Wholeness as lived practice, not theory This is not a romantic conversation about talent. It's a sober inquiry into integration. What would it mean to refuse fragmentation? To build capacity across domains? To become harder to categorize — and more fully human? A wide-ranging, grounded dialogue on mastery, psyche, embodiment, and the responsibility of conscious development. If you're a business owner thinking about succession, private equity offers, or rollover equity, this episode outlines options worth considering before signing a deal.Tune into this episode to also learn:● How early exit planning can shield future business appreciation from taxation.● Strategies available when a sale is already in motion.● How charitable components can reduce capital gains exposure by 60–70%.● Why rollover equity may create a second opportunity for tax elimination. What we discussed● [00:00:40] Introduction to Jamie Stinson and his focus on tax mitigation strategies for business owners.● [00:03:28] The difference between long-term exit planning and imminent sale strategies.● [00:05:46] A real-world example of shielding $40 million in appreciation from capital gains tax.● [00:08:28] How charitable structures can reduce capital gains taxes by 60–70% in near-term sales.● [00:10:23] A case study involving a $40 million sale and multi-generational income planning.● [00:15:23] How valuation timing impacts tax outcomes in growing businesses.● [00:20:39] Using rollover equity to eliminate taxes on the “second bite of the apple.”3 Things To RememberThe earlier you begin planning for a business exit, the more opportunities you may have to limit taxes on future appreciation.Even if a sale is imminent, there may still be structures available that substantially reduce capital gains exposure.Rollover equity and charitable planning strategies can transform a taxable event into a multi-generational wealth opportunity.Useful LinksConnect with Jason Gabrieli: jgabrieli@hfmadvisors.com | LinkedInConnect with Jamie Stinson: LinkedInLike what you've heard…Subscribe to our BuiltWealth™ Newsletter HERE

In this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, we enter the arena of sound.Sound is everywhere. It captures our attention, intrudes on our space, shapes our moods, colors our perceptions, and often influences us more than we consciously realize. From music to machinery, from background noise to deliberate harmony, sound plays a powerful role in how we experience the world. On the heels of an inspiring House of Free Will workshop with musician and truth champion Alex Michael, this episode opens the conversation about how we can work with sound—rather than be unconsciously worked over by it.I'll explore:The many ways sound impacts emotion and perceptionHow intrusive or “annoying” sounds can be reframed or harmonizedPlayful and practical ways to engage with sound intentionallyThe relationship between sound, mood, and sense of controlHow experimenting with tone, rhythm, and music can dramatically improve quality of lifeI'll will also share the quirky and creative ways I use sound and music to regulate my environment and uplift my state—demonstrating how small shifts in attention and intention can create surprising harmony.Near the end of the stream, Canadian duo Winsome Kind — Scott Perrie and Leora Joy Perrie — will join to share about their newest children's release and the watch party they're hosting on BandCamp immediately following BoFA.This episode invites listeners to become more conscious participants in their sonic environment—and to discover how sound can become a tool for agency rather than agitation.Let's take a Beth of Fresh Air together.Beth of Fresh Air is a place to look deep and see widely, to play with perception and perspective, in service of evolving culture and the power of the human spirit.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-up ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... When your coaching business feels too hard, it's rarely just about strategy. In this conversation (a follow-up to Episode #115), Ruth Saville, Alex Whitton and Robbie Swale explore three of the biggest pressure-points coaches face as they try to stay in the work for the long game: self-doubt, money, and the quiet temptation to question everything when things feel wobbly.Together, we talk about:Self-doubt: how it shows up, why it's so persistent, and what helps you stay grounded (including building your own evidence bank of impact)Tactics and alignment: the difference between “hard because it's growth” and “hard because it's avoidable suffering”Money pressure: why financial scarcity affects how we think, and how simple, practical actions can bring steadiness backStaying in the game: creating systems that help you keep moving even when you're tired, overwhelmed, or questioning your pathThis is an episode for coaches who want to keep going - without pretending it's easy, and without needing to take themselves quite so seriously along the way.And if you'd like support with all of this - building the business and staying human while you do it - you can explore The Coach's Journey Community here: https://www.thecoachsjourney.com/communityListen to Part 1 of this conversation: https://www.thecoachsjourney.com/podcast/115-what-do-you-do-when-your-coaching-business-feels-too-hardDownload Robbie's ebook, An Introduction to The Coaching Business Flywheel, here. For more information about Ruth, visit https://www.ruthsaville.co.uk/For more information about Alex , visit http://www.exploregrowbe.com/For more information about Robbie, visit https://www.robbieswale.com/Read more about The Coach's Journey at www.thecoachsjourney.com.Music by My Good Man William: listen on Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/4KmeQUcTbeE31uFynHQLQgTo support the Coach's Journey, visit www.patreon.com/thecoachsjourney and to join the Coach's Journey Community visit www.thecoachsjourney.com/community. With Dagmar StansovaIn this episode of Beth of Fresh Air, the Evolve series turns toward the world of performance art—a powerful force shaping modern culture, consciousness, and collective attention.Performance art holds immense potential. It can open portals to beauty, truth, and connection with the Divine. At the same time, it can function as propaganda—guiding perception, reinforcing narratives, and subtly eroding culture under the banner of art.Together, Beth and Dagmar explore the deeper nuances of the performing arts, asking questions that often go unexamined:• The historical evolution of the stage, the voice, and the spectacle• The difference between organic artistic expression and cultural engineering• The archetype of pain, sacrifice, and trauma that surrounds many performers• Why modern societies have become spectators rather than creators• How performers come to be “chosen,” and what that initiation demandsThis conversation is an invitation to discernment—an inquiry into what has been gained, what has been lost, and what might still be reclaimed when art arises from life itself rather than systems of control.A thoughtful, Evolve episode for artists, creatives, observers, and anyone sensing that something fundamental has shifted in how we relate to art, performance, and meaning.***Beth of Fresh Air is where we pause, breathe, and make room for new ways of seeing — one honest conversation at a time.Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-up ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... In this special episode of Beth of Fresh Air, we begin a new series titled Evolve, exploring how society and culture have changed and are changing — and where they may be headed next. For this first conversation, I'm blessed to MAYBE be joined by my nineteen-year-old, Liam, for an intergenerational dialogue about what it's like to grow up inside the world that many adults are worried about. If you've ever felt concerned, cynical, or quietly hopeless about future generations, this episode offers a rare opportunity to listen directly to someone living inside that future now.Together, we explore:What Liam has noticed changing socially and culturally over the course of his lifetimeHow younger generations are relating differently to identity, authority, meaning, and communityWhere he senses things are headed — and what feels genuinely different this time aroundWhat he feels called to contribute to society and culture as it continues to evolveThis conversation isn't about nostalgia or judgment. It's about listening, bridging perspectives, and allowing a more nuanced picture of the future to emerge. The Evolve series is an invitation to move beyond fear-based narratives and into dialogue — across ages, experiences, and worldviews — so we can better understand ourselves in relation to the world we're becoming.Beth of Fresh Air is where we pause, breathe, and make room for new ways of seeing — one honest conversation at a time.***Discover deprogramming and archetype courses at www.bethmartens.comApply for a zero-cost, one-on-one chat about working together: https://www.bethmartens.com/awaken-your-journey-archetype-applicationFind out your King Hero Archetype in ten minutes: https://www.bethmartens.com/king-hero-archetype-quiz-sign-up ***MORE FROM BETHSign up to take a 5-minute King Hero's Journey archetype quizApply to become a member of the House of Free WillRumbleKing Hero Telegram ChannelTwitter (X)InstagramSign up for a Hero's Journey Archetype ReadingOrder a copy of my book, ‘Journey: A Map of Archetypes to Find Lost Purpose in a Sea of Meaninglessness'Donate by PayPal if you're inspiredFollow the King Hero's Journey Podcast on... As a new year begins, leaders are often faced with uncertainty, change, and challenges that cannot be solved with a predetermined plan.
