It was Chris Deacon in fact who finally asked him one day, in a moment of struggle, " Why don't you just try a slightly narrower mouthpiece?" From there, a whole new world opened up. Jim was already well on a path to building a career in music, having become enraptured by the trumpet and cornet as a child, playing Dixieland jazz with his father and learning to play by ear, and then studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Academy of Music. But sometimes, we just need a little kick, a new perspective from an outside source, to shift our understanding and mindset. Since that crossroads, Jim has gone on to become a regular player in the British music scene, from musicals and big bands to studio sessions film soundtracks. Earlier this year, Jim released his long-awaited trumpet & bass collaboration with Misha Mullov-Abbado, "Moon Beans," a mix of original compositions and collaborative arrangements. And he features on Callum Au's ambitious new recording of original music, "Sing Seven Seas." About Callum Au: Callum Au is a British composer, arranger, orchestrator, and trombonist. He writes music across a wide range of genres, with a particular passion for big band and large jazz ensemble music. He is highly regarded for his stylistic awareness and versatility,  and has worked with some of the world's biggest artists. Over the past fifteen years, Callum has established himself as one of the busiest arrangers in the world. He has had the privilege of writing music for many international artists including Quincy Jones, Jamie Cullum and RAYE, and ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the WDR Funkhaus Orchestra, and the Danish Radio Big Band. In 2021 he arranged two songs for Michael Bublé's Grammy winning album 'Higher'. More recently, he contributed four arrangements to Dua Lipa's 'Live from the Royal Albert Hall' and wrote the vast majority of the critically acclaimed 2024 BBC Concert Orchestra Disco Prom. Callum is also active as a composer, with his flair for arresting melodies and lush complex harmony proving popular with audiences and musicians alike. Recent commissions include works for Inner City Brass, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, and Bone a-fide Trombone Quartet, and groups as diverse as the BBC Concert Orchestra and the SWR Big Band have performed his original music. Callum's latest release is Sing Seven Seas, a product of an audacious seven‑day recording marathon, where Callum united more than eighty extraordinary artists to create a vibrant double album. Dr. Sudipto Das completed a Bachelor's in Technology (B.Tech) - Biotechnology (honours) from Rai Foundation Colleges, Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University, Mumbai, India in 2007, followed by a M.Res – Biomedical Sciences, University of Glasgow, U.K in 2008. Subsequently, Dr. Das obtained his PhD in cancer genetics under the supervision of Prof. Raymond Stallings in 2012. He has also spent time as a visiting research fellow in VIB, K.U., Leuven, VuMC, Amsterdam and Hoshi University, Tokyo Japan. His doctoral work gave him the opportunity to develop a core expertise in the area of epigenetics focused on DNA methylation alterations and non-coding RNAs, which he further enhanced during his Post-doctoral career. This has allowed Dr. Das to obtain prestigious fellowship from organizations such as the Irish Cancer Society, obtain several awards, develop various national and international collaborations and publish highly cited peer review articles in high-impact scientific journals (including Cancer Research, Oncogene, JCI, Nat Comms, JCO, Cancer Discovery). Dr. Das's key research focus involves application of genomics and epigenomics approaches across a several diseases especially cancer and inflammatory bowel diseases as well as heart failure, with the aim to identifying potential predictive/prognostic biomarkers and/or therapeutic targets that can ultimately aid in enhancing better patient care. His expertise has in turn allowed him to develop various international and national collaboration leading to successful funding applications from British Heart Foundation and Heart Research U.K and Japan Society for Promotion of Science. To date, Dr. Das has accrued >3.5 million euro in funding from national and international funding agencies inlcuding Research Ireland, Health Research Board, Enterprise Ireland and European Crohn's and Colitis foundation, allowing him to establish the "Epigenetics in Gastrointestinal research group". The research group primarily focusses on identifying the role of epigenetic modification as novel biomarkers and therapeutic targets in GI diseases. Dr. Das has led development and expansion of an award winning M.Sc  - Technologies & Analytics in Precision medicine established in 2021 funded by the Higher Education Authority - Human Captial Iniative grant. The graduates of this programme continue to gain emplyment in leading companies such as EY, Pfizer, Grifols as well as secure prestigious PhD positions.  As Vice Dean for AI and digital, connected health at RCSI, Dr. Das aims to lead the University to effectively embed AI and digital health-associated applications and concepts in research, education as well as operations/service efficiency.

Check out today's questions:    Yvonne: Have just been advised, based upon blood work, that I have reduced pancreatic function (52.2%). My diet contains no sugar (I use stevia or monk fruit or natural sugars in fruits such as dates) and don't eat any highly processed foods, no gluten… so basically a clean diet. I also exercise, am not overweight. Was told I am pre-diabetic with an A1C of 6. Had a sample of a 4continuous glucose monitor - lowest rate was 5 and highest one time 2 hrs after eating was 10. I intermittent fast usually from about 2 - 3 p.m. until around 7 a.m. Is there anything else I can do to ensure pancreatic function doesn't continue to decline as I don't want to be on a pharmaceutical. I noticed in my mid 20's after half of the surgeries, I would get a deep tingling and itch in my thighs while taking walks. New Japan Pro Wrestling annual ppv held at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo Japan review with Christian Joel Ramos and Raul Montero. New Japan also hosted a cross promotion show with AEW, CMLL, Stardom, and Ring of Honor at the same location the following night.

In January 2016, 21 year-old Narumi Kurosaki, ex-girlfriend of 26 year-old Nicholas Zepta was exchanging messages discussing their relationship. The couple had recently had a messy break up because Narumi Narumi had just gotten accepted into an elite college in France on a scholarship and had to leave Tokyo Japan, where her and Nicholas were living. Narumi wanted to go out there and see what else life had to offer and tried to break it off with Nicholas. But unfortunately, Nicholas didn't take no for an answer. Nicholas would go on to send over 1000 messages to Narumi telling her she must obey his “conditions” in the relationship or else he's gonna break up with her, although they were already broken up and Narumi was currently moved on and in another relationship. Nicholas would even go on his daily motion account to post a video of him saying how Narumi had recently done some bad things to him that she was pay for. And gave her 2 weeks to obey his “conditions” before she would feel the “effects”. Narumi ignored all of Nik's messages until one day as she was walking home from her school in France, she noticed in the distance, Nicholas was getting out of a car and walking right towards her.  Learn more about your ad choices.
